There are many web hosting companies to choose from if you're taking the plunge into making your own website with a comic content management system (CMS) like ComicControl or Grawlix, a Wordpress comic theme like Toocheke or ComicPress, or a HTML template to cut/paste code like Rarebit. While these solutions are generally free, finding a home for them is... generally not. It can be hard to choose what's best for your webcomic AND your budget!
We took a look at a few of the top hosting services used by webcomics creators using webcomic CMSes, and we put out a poll to ask your feedback about your hosts!
This post may be updated as time goes on as new services enter the hosting arena, or other important updates come to light.
Questions:
💻 I can get a free account with Wix/Squarespace/Carrd, could I just use those for my comic? - Web hosts like this may have gallery functions that could be adapted to display a series of pages, but they are very basic and not intended for webcomics.
📚 Wait, I host on Webtoon, Tapas, Comic Fury, or some other comic website, why are they not here? - Those are comic platforms! We'll get into those in a future post!
🕵️‍♀️Why does it say "shared hosting"? Who am I sharing with? - "Shared hosting" refers to sharing the server space with other customers. They will not have access to your files or anything, so it is perfectly fine to use for most comic CMSes. You may experience slowing if there is too much activity on a server, so if you're planning to host large files or more than 10 comics, you may want to upgrade to a more robust plan in the future.
Web Host List
Neocities
Tumblr media
Basic plan pricing: Free or $5/month. Free plan has more restrictions (1 GB space, no custom domain, and slower bandwidth, among other things)
Notes: Neocities does not have database support for paid or free accounts, and most comic CMS solutions require this (ComicCtrl, Grawlix, Wordpress). You will need to work with HTML/CSS files directly to make a website and post each page.
Hostinger
Tumblr media
Basic plan pricing: $11.99/month or $7.99/month with four year commitment (monthly, 1, 2, and 4 year plans available).
Notes: Free domain for the 1st year. Free SSL Certifications. Weekly backups.
KnownHost
Tumblr media
Basic plan pricing: $8.95/month or $7.99/month with four year commitment (monthly, 1, 2, and 4 year plans available).
Notes: Free DDOS protection. Free SSL Certifications.
InMotion Hosting
Tumblr media
Basic plan pricing: $12.99/month or $9.99/month with three year commitment (monthly, 1, and 3 year plans available).
Notes:  Free SSL Certifications, free domain names for 1 and 3 year plans. 24/7 live customer service and 90-day money-back guarantee. Inmotion also advertises eco-friendly policies: We are the first-ever Green Data Center in Los Angeles. We cut cooling costs by nearly 70 percent and reduce our carbon output by more than 2,000 tons per year.
Reviews:
👍“I can't remember it ever going down.”
👍“InMotion has a pretty extensive library full of various guides on setting up and managing websites, servers, domains, etc. Customer service is also fairly quick on responding to inquiries.” 👎“I wish it was a bit faster with loading pages.”
Ionos Hosting
Tumblr media
Basic plan pricing: $8/month or $6/month with three year commitment (monthly, 1, 2 and 3 year plans available).
Notes: Free domain for the first year, free SSL Certification, Daily backup and recovery is included. Site Scan and Repair is free for the first 30 days and then is $6/month.
Reviews:
👍“Very fast and simple” 👎“Customer service is mediocre and I can't upload large files”
Bluehost
Tumblr media
Basic plan pricing: $15.99/month or $4.95/month with three year commitment (monthly, 1, 3 year plans available).
Notes: Free domain and SSL certificates (for first year only). 24/7 Customer Service. Built to handle higher traffic websites. Although they specialize in Wordpress websites and provide updates automatically, that's almost a bad thing for webcomic plugins because they will often break your site. Their cloud hosting services are currently in early access with not much additional information available.
Reviews:
👎"The fees keep going up. Like I could drop $100 to cover a whole year, but now I'm paying nearly $100 for just three months. It's really upsetting."
👎"I have previously used Bluehost’s Wordpress hosting service and have had negative experiences with the service, so please consider with a grain of salt. I can confirm at least that their 24/7 customer service was great, although needed FAR too often."
Dreamhost
Tumblr media
Basic plan pricing: $7.99/month or $5.99/month with three year commitment (monthly, 1, 3 year plans available).
Notes: Free SSL Certificates, 24/7 support with all plans, 97-day moneyback guarantee. Not recommended for ComicCtrl CMS
Reviews:
👍“They've automatically patched 2 security holes I created/allowed by mistake.” 👍“Prices are very reasonable” 👎 “back end kind of annoying to use” 👎 “wordpress has some issues” 👎 “it's not as customizable as some might want“
GoDaddy
Tumblr media
Basic plan pricing: $11.99/month or $9.99/month with three year commitment (monthly, 1, 2, and 3 year plans available).
Notes: Free 24/7 Customer service with all plans, Free SSL Certificates for 1 year, free domain and site migration.
Reviews:
👍Reasonable intro prices for their Economy hosting, which has 25GB of storage 👍Migrated email hosting service from cPanel to Microsoft Office, which has greater support but may not be useful for most webcomic creators. 👎 Many site issues and then being upsold during customer service attempts. 👎 Server quality found lacking in reviews 👎 Marketing scandals in the past with a reputation for making ads in poor taste. Have been attempting to clean up that image in recent years. 👎 “GoDaddy is the McDonald's of web hosting. Maybe the Wal-Mart of hosting would be better. If your website was an object you would need a shelf to put it on. You go to Wal-Mart and buy a shelf. It's not great. It's not fancy. It can only hold that one thing. And if we're being honest - if the shelf broke and your website died it wouldn't be the end of the world. The issue comes when you don't realize GoDaddy is the Wal-Mart of hosting. You go and try to do things you could do with a quality shelf. Like, move it. Or add more things to it.” MyWorkAccountThisIs on Reddit*
Things to consider for any host:
💸 Introductory/promotional pricing - Many hosting companies offer free or inexpensive deals to get you in the door, and then raise the cost for these features after the first year or when you renew. The prices in this post are the base prices that you can expect to pay after the promotional prices end, but may get outdated, so you are encouraged to do your own research as well.
💻 Wordpress hosting - Many of the companies below will have a separate offering for Wordpress-optimized hosting that will keep you updated with the latest Wordpress releases. This is usually not necessary for webcomic creators, and can be the source of many site-breaking headaches when comic plugins have not caught up to the latest Wordpress releases.
Any basic hosting plan on this list will be fine with Wordpress, but expect to stop or revert Wordpress versions if you go with this as your CMS.
🤝 You don't have to go it alone - While free hosts may be more limited, paid hosting on a web server will generally allow you to create different subdomains, or attach additional purchased domains to any folders you make. If you have other comic-making friends you know and trust, you can share your server space and split the cost!
Want to share your experience?
Feel free to contribute your hosting pros, cons, and quirks on our survey! We will be updating our list periodically with your feedback!

A Note on Notifications
I have been writing about habit formation on the newbie guide. This section turned into a bit about notifications and content, and how they turn into habits. This turned into a WTF moment when I started to poke at how much habit formation is based around content, but at that point it's a rant and it had to go.
There are four stages of a habit:
Cue: the trigger for the behavior.
Craving: the desire to have an internal drive fulfilled.
Response: the actual action performed as part of the habit.
Reward: the satisfaction of the craving.
You would think that you can build up a habit by setting up a notification and then doing the habit when you get notified. But if you rely on notification as the cue for the habit, it supports repetition but hinders habit development. In essence, the habit being developed is "do the action described in the notification" rather than internalizing the actions and building automaticity.
The sad thing is that this is probably the best case scenario. The worst case scenario is that the notification is not a meaningful cue for the habit, because so many notifications don't cue for any kind of response. They are either informational, or worse, promotional.
This is a problem with notifications generally. Notifications are driven by the application. They push content, generally without determining how useful or relevant it is, and can easily overwhelm users in a sea of meaningless spam. This leads to alarm fatigue and an expectation that notifications are ignorable. If there is no response needed to the vast majority of suggestions, every ignorable notification is training the user to ignore notifications.
To ensure that notifications can serve as a useful cue, notifications should be meaningful. Ideally, notifications should be directly actionable with an immediate response. If a notification is not meaningful or actionable, especially if it does not come from a human, then it's most likely useless.
If a calendar event is set and there is a notification 10 minutes before the event, the immediate response should be "getting up and going to the place of the event" or "wrapping up conversations and work in progress." If the notification is a commitment reminder, the immediate response should be to do the commitment. And the appropriate immediate response to a useless notification is to disable notification for that app.
Notifications have a useful place, but they are inherently an external push from the environment, and therefore an attempt to coopt attention. Even when they do work, they prioritize responding to or acknowledging the notification when the environment doesn't warrant it: if the phone rings, you have to either answer it or press the button to make it go to voicemail, even if you're driving.
More insidiously, notifications often push content.
Content is attentional junk food. Take a moment to look around your environment and notice how much content is pushed; it can be quite shocking to realize how many attention systems can go into a single web page. Try browsing Youtube with UnTrap, SponsorBlock, and DeArrow enabled and see how your experience changes.
Habits form around consuming content quite easily: when you're bored or stressed, you reach to consume content and are rewarded with happy puppies and cat pictures. From there, content will come to you. Between recommendation systems and feed algorithms, you just have to click or scroll to be fed new content. Most of it is bad, but occasionally there's a useful nugget in there, and that "search" and that seeking behavior becomes the primary activity and keeps you coming back for more. You are never truly satisfied or filled by content, and there's always more of it.
If you want to understand the power of habit formation, try removing content for a day. Unplug the television. Go somewhere without your phone, and count how many times you reach for content without even thinking, and how automatic and unconscious that action was. Uninstall Tiktok and other social media, and see what the craving for content is like when it's unfulfilled.
Habits are powerful.

What is Argo CD? And When Was Argo CD Established?
Tumblr media
What Is Argo CD?
Argo CD is declarative Kubernetes GitOps continuous delivery.
In DevOps, ArgoCD is a Continuous Delivery (CD) technology that has become well-liked for delivering applications to Kubernetes. It is based on the GitOps deployment methodology.
When was Argo CD Established?
Argo CD was created at Intuit and made publicly available following Applatix’s 2018 acquisition by Intuit. The founding developers of Applatix, Hong Wang, Jesse Suen, and Alexander Matyushentsev, made the Argo project open-source in 2017.
Why Argo CD?
Declarative and version-controlled application definitions, configurations, and environments are ideal. Automated, auditable, and easily comprehensible application deployment and lifecycle management are essential.
Getting Started
Quick Start
kubectl create namespace argocd kubectl apply -n argocd -f https://raw.githubusercontent.com/argoproj/argo-cd/stable/manifests/install.yaml
For some features, more user-friendly documentation is offered. Refer to the upgrade guide if you want to upgrade your Argo CD. Those interested in creating third-party connectors can access developer-oriented resources.
How it works
Argo CD defines the intended application state by employing Git repositories as the source of truth, in accordance with the GitOps pattern. There are various approaches to specify Kubernetes manifests:
Applications for Customization
Helm charts
JSONNET files
Simple YAML/JSON manifest directory
Any custom configuration management tool that is set up as a plugin
The deployment of the intended application states in the designated target settings is automated by Argo CD. Deployments of applications can monitor changes to branches, tags, or pinned to a particular manifest version at a Git commit.
Architecture
The implementation of Argo CD is a Kubernetes controller that continually observes active apps and contrasts their present, live state with the target state (as defined in the Git repository). Out Of Sync is the term used to describe a deployed application whose live state differs from the target state. In addition to reporting and visualizing the differences, Argo CD offers the ability to manually or automatically sync the current state back to the intended goal state. The designated target environments can automatically apply and reflect any changes made to the intended target state in the Git repository.
Components
API Server
The Web UI, CLI, and CI/CD systems use the API, which is exposed by the gRPC/REST server. Its duties include the following:
Status reporting and application management
Launching application functions (such as rollback, sync, and user-defined actions)
Cluster credential management and repository (k8s secrets)
RBAC enforcement
Authentication, and auth delegation to outside identity providers
Git webhook event listener/forwarder
Repository Server
An internal service called the repository server keeps a local cache of the Git repository containing the application manifests. When given the following inputs, it is in charge of creating and returning the Kubernetes manifests:
URL of the repository
Revision (tag, branch, commit)
Path of the application
Template-specific configurations: helm values.yaml, parameters
A Kubernetes controller known as the application controller keeps an eye on all active apps and contrasts their actual, live state with the intended target state as defined in the repository. When it identifies an Out Of Sync application state, it may take remedial action. It is in charge of calling any user-specified hooks for lifecycle events (Sync, PostSync, and PreSync).
Features
Applications are automatically deployed to designated target environments.
Multiple configuration management/templating tools (Kustomize, Helm, Jsonnet, and plain-YAML) are supported.
Capacity to oversee and implement across several clusters
Integration of SSO (OIDC, OAuth2, LDAP, SAML 2.0, Microsoft, LinkedIn, GitHub, GitLab)
RBAC and multi-tenancy authorization policies
Rollback/Roll-anywhere to any Git repository-committed application configuration
Analysis of the application resources’ health state
Automated visualization and detection of configuration drift
Applications can be synced manually or automatically to their desired state.
Web user interface that shows program activity in real time
CLI for CI integration and automation
Integration of webhooks (GitHub, BitBucket, GitLab)
Tokens of access for automation
Hooks for PreSync, Sync, and PostSync to facilitate intricate application rollouts (such as canary and blue/green upgrades)
Application event and API call audit trails
Prometheus measurements
To override helm parameters in Git, use parameter overrides.

What’s new in React?
React is a continuously evolving library in the ever-changing web development landscape. As you embark on your journey to learn and master React, it’s important to understand the evolution of the library and its updates over time.
One of the advantages of React is that its core API has remained relatively stable in recent years. This provides a sense of continuity and allows developers to leverage their knowledge from previous versions. The conceptual foundation of React has remained intact, meaning that the skills acquired three or five years ago can still be applied today. Let’s take a step back and trace the history of React from its early versions to the recent ones. From React 0.x to React 18, numerous pivotal changes and enhancements have been made as follows: 1. React 0.14: In this version, the introduction of functional components allowed developers to utilize functions as components, simplifying the creation of basic UI elements. At that time, no one knew that now we would write only functional components and almost completely abandon class-based components.
2. React 15: With a new versioning scheme, the next update of React 15 brought a complete overhaul of the internal architecture, resulting in improved performance and stability.
3. React 16: This version, however, stands as one of the most notable releases in React’s history. It introduced hooks,a revolutionary concept that enables developers to use state and other React features without the need for class components. Hooks make code simpler and more readable, transforming the way developers write components.Additionally, React 16 introduced Fiber, a new reconciliation mechanism that significantly improved performance, especially when dealing with animations and complex UI structures.
4. React 17: This version focused on updating and maintaining compatibility with previous versions. It introduced a new JSX transform system.
5. React 18: This is the latest stable release, which continues the trajectory of improvement and emphasizes performance enhancements and additional features, such as the automatic batching of renders, state transitions, server components, and streaming server-side rendering.
Setting up a new React project There are several ways to create a React project when you are getting started. In this section, let's explore three common approaches: • Using web bundlers • Using frameworks • Using an online code editor
Using web bundlers Using a web bundler is an efficient way to create React projects, especially if you are building a Single-Page Application (SPA). Vite is known for its remarkable speed and ease of setup and use.
Using frameworks For real-world and commercial projects, it is recommended to use frameworks built on top of React. These frameworks provide additional features out of the box, such as routing and asset management (images, SVG files, fonts, etc.). They also guide you in organizing your project structure effectively, as frameworks often enforce specific file organization rules. Some popular React frameworks include Next.js, Gatsby, and Remix.
Online code editors Online code editors combine the advantages of web bundlers and frameworks but allow you to set up your React development environment in the cloud or right inside of the browser. This eliminates the need to install anything on your machine and lets you write and explore React code directly in your browser. While there are various online code editors available, some of the most popular options include CodeSandbox, StackBlitz, and Replit. These platforms provide a user-friendly interface and allow you to create, share, and collaborate on React projects without any local setup. To get started with an online code editor, you don’t even need an account. Simply follow this link on your browser:(https://codesandbox.io/p/sandbox/react-new?utm_source=dotnew). In a few seconds, you will see that CodeSandbox is ready to work with a template project, and a live preview of the editor is available directly in the browser tab. If you want to save your changes, then you need to create an account.Using online code editors is a convenient way to learn and experiment with React, especially if you prefer a browser-based development environment.

Boeing accelerates sending 1,000 smart bombs to Israel after Hamas attacks
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 10/13/2023 - 09:00 in Military, War Zones
Boeing accelerated the delivery of 1,000 smart bombs to Israel as the country intensifies retaliation against Hamas after the devastating weekend attack that killed hundreds of people, industry and defense officials said.
The 250-pound small diameter bombs, part of a 2021 contract, were transported from a U.S. Air Force base by Israeli Air Force transport, according to an industry official who asked not to be identified when discussing the agreements.
A senior defense official who spoke to reporters on Monday said that the ammunition sent in a hurry to Israel was not part of a “foreign military sale” between governments, but rather part of a “direct commercial sale” between the contractor and Israel that was already underway.
A second defense officer said on Tuesday that the first officer was referring to accelerated transactions as part of a May 2021 direct commercial sale between Boeing and Israel, which the State Department estimated at $735 million over several years. It also includes kits to convert unguided bombs into GPS-guided Joint Direct Attack Ammunition. No JDAM kit has been sent yet, said one employee.
Tumblr media
The weapons, which can be launched by Israeli jets more than 64 kilometers away - each aimed at specific targets - "provide the means to accurately target terrorists in Gaza, while minimizing civilian casualties," said Brad Bowman, a military analyst at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, which monitors military issues in the Middle East. He said this is an important capability, considering that Hamas holds Israeli hostages.
The May 2021 sale was controversial when Congress was notified by the Biden administration. Senator Bernie Sanders and some members of the House acted to block the proposal to sell in protest against the Israeli attacks in Gaza at the time, but the proposal was not voted on, according to the Congressional Investigation Service.
A Boeing spokesman did not want to comment. According to a U.S. Air Force information leaflet, the small size of the Small Diameter Pump (SDB) “inherently reduces the likelihood of collateral damage”.
Separately, the Biden administration is expected to announce new arms supplies to Israel, which receives more than $3 billion in U.S. military aid every year.

Demystifying Microsoft Azure Cloud Hosting and PaaS Services: A Comprehensive Guide
In the rapidly evolving landscape of cloud computing, Microsoft Azure has emerged as a powerful player, offering a wide range of services to help businesses build, deploy, and manage applications and infrastructure. One of the standout features of Azure is its Cloud Hosting and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings, which enable organizations to harness the benefits of the cloud while minimizing the complexities of infrastructure management. In this comprehensive guide, we'll dive deep into Microsoft Azure Cloud Hosting and PaaS Services, demystifying their features, benefits, and use cases.
Understanding Microsoft Azure Cloud Hosting
Cloud hosting, as the name suggests, involves hosting applications and services on virtual servers that are accessed over the internet. Microsoft Azure provides a robust cloud hosting environment, allowing businesses to scale up or down as needed, pay for only the resources they consume, and reduce the burden of maintaining physical hardware. Here are some key components of Azure Cloud Hosting:
Virtual Machines (VMs): Azure offers a variety of pre-configured virtual machine sizes that cater to different workloads. These VMs can run Windows or Linux operating systems and can be easily scaled to meet changing demands.
Azure App Service: This PaaS offering allows developers to build, deploy, and manage web applications without dealing with the underlying infrastructure. It supports various programming languages and frameworks, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS): For containerized applications, AKS provides a managed Kubernetes service. Kubernetes simplifies the deployment and management of containerized applications, and AKS further streamlines this process.
Tumblr media
Exploring Azure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) Services
Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) takes cloud hosting a step further by abstracting away even more of the infrastructure management, allowing developers to focus primarily on building and deploying applications. Azure offers an array of PaaS services that cater to different needs:
Azure SQL Database: This fully managed relational database service eliminates the need for database administration tasks such as patching and backups. It offers high availability, security, and scalability for your data.
Azure Cosmos DB: For globally distributed, highly responsive applications, Azure Cosmos DB is a NoSQL database service that guarantees low-latency access and automatic scaling.
Azure Functions: A serverless compute service, Azure Functions allows you to run code in response to events without provisioning or managing servers. It's ideal for event-driven architectures.
Azure Logic Apps: This service enables you to automate workflows and integrate various applications and services without writing extensive code. It's great for orchestrating complex business processes.
Benefits of Azure Cloud Hosting and PaaS Services
Scalability: Azure's elasticity allows you to scale resources up or down based on demand. This ensures optimal performance and cost efficiency.
Cost Management: With pay-as-you-go pricing, you only pay for the resources you use. Azure also provides cost management tools to monitor and optimize spending.
High Availability: Azure's data centers are distributed globally, providing redundancy and ensuring high availability for your applications.
Security and Compliance: Azure offers robust security features and compliance certifications, helping you meet industry standards and regulations.
Developer Productivity: PaaS services like Azure App Service and Azure Functions streamline development by handling infrastructure tasks, allowing developers to focus on writing code.
Use Cases for Azure Cloud Hosting and PaaS
Web Applications: Azure App Service is ideal for hosting web applications, enabling easy deployment and scaling without managing the underlying servers.
Microservices: Azure Kubernetes Service supports the deployment and orchestration of microservices, making it suitable for complex applications with multiple components.
Data-Driven Applications: Azure's PaaS offerings like Azure SQL Database and Azure Cosmos DB are well-suited for applications that rely heavily on data storage and processing.
Serverless Architecture: Azure Functions and Logic Apps are perfect for building serverless applications that respond to events in real-time.
In conclusion, Microsoft Azure's Cloud Hosting and PaaS Services provide businesses with the tools they need to harness the power of the cloud while minimizing the complexities of infrastructure management. With scalability, cost-efficiency, and a wide array of services, Azure empowers developers and organizations to innovate and deliver impactful applications. Whether you're hosting a web application, managing data, or adopting a serverless approach, Azure has the tools to support your journey into the cloud.

Choosing the Best Wordpress Hosting Company for Your Website
In the digital age, your website is your most powerful tool. Whether you're running a blog, an online store, or a business site, having reliable hosting is essential. If your website runs on WordPress, finding the right Wordpress Hosting Company can make all the difference. A dependable hosting provider ensures speed, security, and support—three essentials every website needs.
In this guide, we'll explore everything you need to know about choosing the best Wordpress Hosting Company for your needs. We’ll cover types of hosting, key features, pricing, support, and what sets top providers apart.
Why You Need a Wordpress Hosting Company
When you're using WordPress as your content management system (CMS), your hosting setup needs to support it. While many general web hosting services exist, a specialized Wordpress Hosting Company offers optimized solutions tailored specifically for WordPress websites.
Here’s why specialized WordPress hosting matters:
Speed Optimization: Hosting is configured to make WordPress run faster.
Security Enhancements: Includes firewalls, malware scans, and more.
Automatic Updates: WordPress core and plugins are updated regularly.
Expert Support: Dedicated WordPress experts can troubleshoot any issue.
Scalability: Easily upgrade plans as your traffic grows.
Types of Wordpress Hosting Company Services
Different websites need different hosting setups. Here are the main types offered by a Wordpress Hosting Company:
Shared Wordpress Hosting
This is the most affordable option. Your site shares server resources with other websites. While it’s cost-effective, performance can vary.
VPS Wordpress Hosting
VPS (Virtual Private Server) hosting gives you dedicated portions of a server. It's faster and more secure than shared hosting.
Managed Wordpress Hosting
This is a premium offering where everything from updates to backups is handled by the Wordpress Hosting Company. It’s perfect for those who don’t want to deal with technical maintenance.
Dedicated Wordpress Hosting
You get an entire server just for your site. Ideal for very high-traffic websites or enterprise-level businesses.
Cloud Wordpress Hosting
Using cloud infrastructure, your site is hosted on multiple servers. It offers reliability, speed, and flexibility.
What to Look for in a Wordpress Hosting Company
Choosing the right Wordpress Hosting Company isn't just about pricing. You need to evaluate several factors to ensure your website performs well.
1. Performance and Speed
Page loading speed is crucial for user experience and SEO. The hosting company should use SSD storage, caching technologies, and optimized server environments.
2. Uptime Guarantee
Look for a minimum of 99.9% uptime. This ensures your site remains accessible to users around the clock.
3. Security Features
A good Wordpress Hosting Company will include SSL certificates, DDoS protection, daily backups, and malware scanning.
4. Support
24/7 customer support via live chat, email, or phone is a must. Make sure the support team understands WordPress-specific issues.
5. Pricing and Value
Cost is always a factor, but don’t sacrifice quality for a cheaper price. Compare what’s included in each plan.
Benefits of Choosing a Reputable Wordpress Hosting Company
The benefits of choosing a specialized Wordpress Hosting Company go beyond just faster websites. Here’s what else you gain:
Better SEO Performance: Google favors fast-loading and secure websites.
Reduced Downtime: More reliable hosting means fewer interruptions.
Ease of Use: Dashboards are simplified for WordPress users.
Enhanced Customization: Get access to WordPress tools and plugins more easily.
Better ROI: A better performing site can lead to more traffic and conversions.
Comparing Top Wordpress Hosting Companies
Here’s a quick comparison of what to look for in a top Wordpress Hosting Company:

How to Switch to a New Wordpress Hosting Company
Switching hosting providers might seem daunting, but many Wordpress Hosting Companies offer free migration. Here's how to do it:
Backup Your Site: Use plugins like UpdraftPlus or manually export your files and database.
Choose a New Host: Select a provider that meets your needs.
Migrate Files: Either use the host’s migration service or do it yourself.
Update DNS Settings: Point your domain to the new hosting server.
Test Everything: Before canceling your old plan, ensure your site works perfectly on the new host.
Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Wordpress Hosting Company
Don’t sign up with a hosting provider without asking these questions:
Does the plan include email hosting?
Is the company providing a free domain?
Are there any setup fees?
How many websites can I host?
Are updates and backups automated?
These questions will help you find the best Wordpress Hosting Company for your needs.

If you're serious about your website, choosing a reliable provider like InfoSkySolutions is a smart move.
Common Mistakes When Choosing a Wordpress Hosting Company
Ignoring Customer Reviews
Always read customer reviews and testimonials. They can reveal problems you won’t find on the official website.
Choosing Based on Price Alone
Don’t go for the cheapest plan. It may lead to poor performance and limited support.
Overlooking Scalability
Choose a Wordpress Hosting Company that can grow with your business. You don’t want to switch again after just a few months.
Not Checking for WordPress-Specific Features
General hosting plans may not include essential WordPress tools. Make sure the hosting is optimized for WordPress.
Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Wordpress Hosting Company
Enable Caching: Use tools like WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache.
Use a CDN: Distribute content globally to improve load times.
Limit Plugins: Only use essential plugins to reduce server load.
Update Regularly: Keep WordPress, themes, and plugins up to date.
Use a Lightweight Theme: Avoid bulky themes that slow down your site.
By following these steps, you can maximize the value from your Wordpress Hosting Company.
Final Thoughts: The Right Wordpress Hosting Company Makes All the Difference
Choosing the right Wordpress Hosting Company is crucial to your website’s success. With faster loading times, better security, and expert support, your WordPress site can thrive.
From speed and uptime to affordability and ease of use, a good Wordpress Hosting Company checks all the boxes. Don't rush the process—research your options and choose a provider that aligns with your needs.
Whether you're just starting out or ready to scale your site, hosting is the backbone of your online presence. And with the right company by your side, your website is set up for success.

What Every Tech Entrepreneur Should Know About Managed Reseller Hosting and Web Hosting Resale?
Tech entrepreneurs are constantly looking for scalable, profitable, and efficient online solutions to power their ventures. As the demand for digital services continues to grow rapidly, finding reliable ways to offer hosting and website solutions to clients has become a strategic business move. Reseller hosting and web hosting resale provide a golden opportunity for entrepreneurs to expand their service offerings, build recurring revenue, and strengthen their market presence.
Tumblr media
Whether you're launching a new digital agency, scaling your freelance webdesign operations, or looking to create a full-fledged hosting brand, these services can offer significant business advantages. Among these solutions, managed reseller hosting and web hosting resale have emerged as lucrative opportunities for those in the tech and webdesign space. This comprehensive guide will walk you through everything you need to know about reseller hosting, especially in the UK context, focusing on why managed solutions are essential for modern entrepreneurs.
What is Reseller Hosting?
Reseller hosting is a form of web hosting where you purchase hosting resources from a web hosting provider and then resell them to your own customers. It is ideal for tech entrepreneurs, web designers, and digital agencies that manage multiple client websites.
You don’t need to own the infrastructure; instead, you lease bandwidth and disk space, set up your own pricing, and create custom packages. It’s like running your own hosting company without the heavy lifting of managing servers.
Why Managed Reseller Hosting is the Smart Choice for Tech Entrepreneurs?
For many startups and growing tech firms, managed reseller hosting provides a streamlined, efficient solution. Here’s why:
Hands-Off Server Management
With a managed service, your cheap web hosting provider takes care of server maintenance, updates, backups, and security. This means you can focus on sales, branding, and webdesign rather than technical troubleshooting.
Better Security and Uptime
Web hosting providers offering managed reseller hosting usually have advanced security protocols, firewalls, malware protection, and 24/7 monitoring. Uptime guarantees of 99.9% or higher ensure your clients' websites stay online.
Scalability and Flexibility
Whether you’re starting small or scaling up, a managed hosting plan allows you to easily adjust your resource usage.
Professional Support
Get access to expert support around the clock. When issues arise, you have professionals on hand to resolve them quickly, which is vital when managing multiple client sites.
Key Features to Look For in a Reseller Hosting Provider-
When selecting an affordable web hosting provider, consider these essential features:
Linux Hosting with cPanel/WHM
Linux is a reliable and widely supported operating system for hosting, especially with cPanel and WHM integration, giving you powerful control over user accounts and hosting features.
WhiteLabel Branding
If you want to offer services under your own brand, choose the best web hosting provider that supports whitelabel solutions. This lets you add your company logo, use custom nameservers, and present a fully branded experience to your clients.
Managed Reseller Hosting Plans
Look for cheap web hosting plans that include free migrations, automatic backups, enhanced security, and proactive monitoring.
Affordable Yet Reliable
The hosting market is competitive. You can find cheap reseller hosting options that don’t compromise on performance.
Who Should Consider Reseller Hosting?
Reseller hosting is not just for tech giants. It’s perfect for a wide range of digital professionals and businesses who want to add web hosting to their service offerings or build a new stream of revenue with minimal overhead and upfront investment.
Webdesign agencies can greatly benefit by bundling hosting with their creative services, giving clients a complete, hassle-free solution. This not only increases client retention but also opens up recurring income through monthly or yearly hosting plans. Offering hosting as part of your design package makes you a one-stop shop, building stronger relationships and trust.
Freelancers working in web development or digital marketing can add value to their offerings by integrating web hosting services. Rather than sending clients to external hosting providers, freelancers can control the hosting environment, ensuring their work performs optimally. It also creates a passive income stream that complements their primary freelance projects.
Startups, especially those in the tech or SaaS sectors, can use reseller hosting to offset their operational costs. Selling hosting services to clients or even internal departments can create a self-sustaining hosting solution that scales as the business grows.
IT consultancies and MSPs (Managed Service Providers) can incorporate hosting into their tech stack, offering holistic IT solutions. By managing both the infrastructure and the services layered on top, they increase customer reliance and build longer-term contracts.
Whether you're an individual or a growing team, reseller hosting provides the flexibility, control, and profit potential to align perfectly with a variety of business models.
Benefits of Reseller Hosting in the UK Market-
• Growing Digital Demand
From small businesses to eCommerce startups, the demand for web hosting is growing steadily.
• Local Server Infrastructure
Opting for UK-based data centres means faster loading times for local customers, boosting SEO and user experience.
• Compliance and Regulations
Using a local provider ensures adherence to UK-specific data laws like GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Common Myths About Reseller Hosting-
It's Too Expensive
Many believe hosting resale is costly, but cheap reseller hosting packages start at just a few pounds per month.
You Need Advanced Tech Skills
Thanks to managed reseller hosting, you don’t need to be a server expert. Most tasks are automated or handled by the best reseller hosting provider.
It's Not Profitable
When managed correctly, reseller hosting offers steady recurring revenue with high-profit margins.
Step-by-Step: Starting Your Own Hosting Resale Business-
Step 1: Choose the Right Hosting Provider
Start by selecting a hosting company that offers Linux reseller hosting, whitelabel options, and managed reseller hosting. These features are crucial for ensuring server stability, branding flexibility, and technical support. Look for a provider with a strong uptime record, UK-based servers, and 24/7 customer service so your clients experience minimal disruption and faster local site loading speeds.
Step 2: Create Your Hosting Packages
Tailor hosting plans that fit the needs of your target customers — from startups to freelance designers. Factor in storage space, bandwidth, subdomains, email accounts, and control panel access. Keep your pricing competitive to appeal to those seeking cheap web hosting, while ensuring profitability.
Step 3: Set Up Whitelabel Branding
Build trust by rebranding the reseller platform with your own company name, logo, and custom domain. Your clients will see only your branding, not the parent hosting provider, making your business look fully independent and professional.
Step 4: Add Payment and Support Systems
Integrate a billing system like WHMCS, which automates invoices, account creation, and support ticket management. Offer live chat or ticket-based support to assist your clients promptly.
Step 5: Start Marketing Your Services
Use SEO strategies targeting keywords like “cheap Linux hosting” or “low cost web hosting,” combined with social media ads, content marketing, and email newsletters. Collaborate with web designers and IT freelancers to broaden your reach.
Best Practices for Running a Successful Reseller Hosting Business-
Focus on Customer Support: Responsive service builds loyalty.
Offer Value-Added Services: Combine hosting with domain registration, SSL, or web development.
Regular Backups: Keep client data secure.
Keep Learning: Stay updated on the latest Linux hosting, cPanel, and cybersecurity practices.
How to Market Your Reseller Hosting Business?
Marketing your reseller hosting business requires a strategic, localised approach that builds visibility and trust. Start by implementing local SEO techniques. Optimise your website and blog content with high-intent keywords such as "cheap reseller hosting," "managed reseller hosting," and "Linux web hosting for designers." Make sure your business is listed on Google Business Profile, and include local schema markup to improve your chances of ranking in geo-targeted searches. Blog posts, landing pages, and FAQs that specifically address the needs of startups, web developers, and agencies can significantly boost your organic traffic.
Next, build partnerships with local freelance web designers and small digital agencies. Many of them handle web design but prefer to outsource hosting to a trusted web hosting provider. Offer them discounted cheap web hosting packages or affiliate incentives, creating a win-win situation where they can resell, you’re hosting while you grow your client base.
Social proof is also crucial. Showcase testimonials from clients, Trustpilot reviews, and detailed case studies to establish credibility. Highlight how your hosting solutions have helped UK businesses achieve fast website performance, reliable uptime, and excellent support.
Lastly, actively participate in tech forums and communities. Engage in discussions on platforms like Business Forums, Reddit, or local LinkedIn groups. Sharing helpful advice and positioning yourself as a hosting expert will naturally attract leads and raise awareness of your brand. Over time, this community engagement builds trust and positions your hosting business as a go-to local solution.
Future Trends in Managed Reseller Hosting-
AI-Driven Management: Expect AI tools for automated backups, updates, and support.
Green Hosting: Web hosting providers are shifting to eco-friendly data centres.
Enhanced Whitelabel Tools: Improved branding tools and reseller dashboards are on the rise.
Conclusion: Is Managed Reseller Hosting Right for You?
If you're a tech entrepreneur in seeking a scalable, low-risk way to enter the web hosting business or enhance your webdesign services, managed reseller hosting is a smart choice. It combines convenience with control, allowing you to grow your brand under your own terms.
With the right web hosting provider and a strong focus on whitelabel branding, entrepreneurs can tap into a rapidly growing market. Start small, build smart, and scale fast—reseller hosting is not just a side hustle; it's a serious business opportunity.

How to Implement Geo-Fencing and Licensing Restrictions in Global OTT Streaming
Introduction
As the OTT industry expands across borders, enforcing territorial content rights has become crucial. From blockbuster films to regional shows, content creators and distributors must ensure that their media is available only in licensed regions. This is where geo-fencing and licensing restrictions come into play.
Whether you're building a global OTT streaming platform in India or launching region-specific content, these mechanisms help avoid legal issues, protect licensing deals, and ensure viewer trust. In countries like India—and even at the state level such as Tamil Nadu—understanding and applying regional rules is essential.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how OTT solution providers, live streaming platforms, and VOD platform providers can implement and optimize geo-fencing strategies for global OTT delivery.
Tumblr media
Understanding Geo-Fencing in the Context of OTT Streaming Platforms
Geo-fencing is a digital boundary that restricts access to content based on a viewer’s physical location. OTT platforms use IP-based or GPS-based geolocation technology to control which content is viewable in a specific region.
For example, a global OTT streaming platform might license a movie only for viewers in India. Through geo-fencing, viewers in the US or UK would be automatically blocked from accessing it.
Geo-fencing is crucial for:
Enforcing content rights in regional markets like Tamil Nadu
Managing international licensing deals
Controlling regional advertising campaigns
Adhering to censorship regulations in different territories
OTT platform providers in India must integrate geo-fencing with their OTT video solutions, VOD solutions, and live streaming solutions to ensure seamless yet compliant content access.
Implementing Licensing Restrictions Based on Territorial Rights
Licensing restrictions are set by content owners who allow specific platforms to distribute content in limited territories. These rights vary by:
Country
Language
Platform type (TV, OTT, web, mobile)
To enforce licensing:
Tag content with licensing metadata that specifies where it’s allowed.
Use geo-IP services to detect user location in real time.
Dynamically restrict content using smart video players and CMS logic.
For example, if a Tamil-language movie is licensed only for viewers in Tamil Nadu, geo-fencing and licensing restrictions in Tamil Nadu must be activated through rules at the player and server level.
OTT platform providers in India like Innocrux and other global OTT streaming platform solution providers offer APIs and admin tools to set and update regional licenses.
Technical Infrastructure Required for Geo-Fencing and Licensing Enforcement
Implementing geo-fencing at scale requires a strong technical backbone. Here’s what your OTT architecture needs:
IP Geolocation Services: Accurately detect user location via services like MaxMind or IP2Location.
CDN with Edge Rules: Distribute content globally while enforcing geo-fencing at the edge level.
Policy Enforcement Engine: A rule-based system in your OTT CMS to apply restrictions dynamically.
Integration with DRM: Secure content access and prevent unauthorized sharing or downloads.
Real-Time Monitoring Tools: Track access patterns and log location-based access violations.
Whether you’re looking to build OTT platforms, build live streaming websites, or launch VOD services, geo-fencing must be embedded in your custom OTT solution development roadmap.
OTT Platform Architecture for Managing Global Content Access
To manage licensing across multiple regions, your OTT platform architecture should support:
Multi-Tenant CMS: Handle different territories, partners, and licensing rules independently.
Geo-based Video Delivery: Use adaptive CDNs to direct traffic regionally.
Rules-Based Content Access: Combine geo-fencing, licensing metadata, and DRM enforcement.
Regional Monetization Logic: Display localized ads or subscriptions based on user location.
A white-label OTT solution should allow full customization of these features. Global OTT streaming platform solution providers in India build such architectures with a focus on speed, scale, and regulatory compliance.
Challenges in Geo-Fencing and Regional Licensing in OTT Streaming
While geo-fencing is essential, it's not without challenges:
VPN Circumvention: Users can use VPNs to bypass regional restrictions, violating licensing rules.
Inaccurate IP Detection: Location detection can fail, especially with mobile carriers or satellite ISPs.
Overlapping Licensing Territories: Managing licenses across languages or overlapping countries can be complex.
Content Delivery Delays: Geo-fencing adds latency in real-time streaming.
Regulatory Differences: Content allowed in India might be banned in another country.
To overcome these, OTT solution providers must:
Use advanced VPN detection
Update IP databases regularly
Leverage AI-driven location analytics
Platforms offering IPTV OTT solutions or looking to build live streaming apps must especially address these challenges due to real-time content needs.
Best Practices for Effective Geo-Fencing and Licensing Compliance
Follow these industry best practices to implement geo-fencing effectively:
Enforce DRM and Geo-Fencing Together: Combine encryption with location controls to ensure no one outside the target region can access or share the content.
Regularly Audit Licensing Rules: Revisit content rights monthly to ensure expired licenses aren’t active.
Invest in Smart Video Players: Players must read geo-metadata and block streams based on it.
Use Granular Controls: Restrict by country, state (like Tamil Nadu), or even city-level if required.
Choose a Reliable OTT Solution Provider in India: Local vendors better understand regional compliance needs.
If you're researching how to build a live streaming app, build live streaming web applications, or how to build an OTT app, these practices should be part of your system architecture.
Legal and Regulatory Considerations for Global OTT Streaming
OTT streaming platforms must consider:
Content Licensing Agreements: Contracts with studios and creators that dictate regional access rules.
Telecom and Internet Laws: Especially in India, where laws about data localization and censorship apply.
Consumer Rights Laws: Inform users about regional availability and avoid misleading promotions.
Geo-fencing and licensing restrictions in India must align with federal broadcasting guidelines, especially if you're planning content distribution in Tamil Nadu or other states. Consult with legal experts when you build OTT platforms from scratch or expand globally.
For businesses, understanding how to get fencing license approvals, both digitally and for content boundaries, is part of ensuring long-term legal compliance.
Conclusion
As OTT platforms become more global, geo-fencing and licensing restrictions are no longer optional—they’re essential. Whether you're launching a live streaming solution, a VOD platform, or an OTT TV solution, enforcing territorial rights protects your content and business.
Partnering with a trusted OTT solution provider or VOD platform provider is critical. Providers like Innocrux specialize in delivering end-to-end OTT solutions, custom OTT development, and white-label OTT solutions that support robust geo-fencing mechanisms across devices and regions.
So, if you're wondering how to build a live video streaming web application or how to build a VOD platform with global reach and local compliance, start by integrating smart licensing tools, legal frameworks, and regional delivery mechanisms.
