Red Sonja set pic shows a bloody Matilda Lutz in bikini armor

A set pic from the Red Sonja reboot shows a blood spattered Matilda Lutz, in bikini armor, with director M.J. Bassett A reboot of Red Sonja spent nearly fifteen years in development hell before going into production in 2022 with director M.J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) at the helm. Before Bassett signed on, the project had passed through the hands of directors Robert Rodriguez, Simon West, Bryan Singer, and Joey Soloway, with Hannah John-Kamen, Rose McGowan, and Amber Heard being considered for the lead role. Matilda Lutz ended up starring in the film, and while we still don’t know when we’ll get to see her version of the title character in action, a set pic has just arrived online to give us a look at a blood spattered Lutz wearing a version of the character’s iconic bikini armor. You can check it out at the bottom of this article. Lutz has previously said that she wore the metal bikini during a sequence that takes place in an arena with lots of extras and involves her character “fighting monsters.” Bassett directed the film from a screenplay by Joey Soloway (Transparent) and Tasha Huo (Netflix’s Tomb Raider anime). This version of Red Sonja is derived from the sword and sorcery comic books by Dynamite Entertainment, based on the character created by Robert E. Howard and adapted by Roy Thomas. Details on the plot are being kept under wraps. All we know is that Sonja is “a fearsome warrior boasting a high degree of skill with a sword”. In the cast with Lutz (Revenge) are Rhona Mitra (Doomsday), Wallis Day (Sex/Life) as Annisia, Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy) as Draygan, Michael Bisping (xXx: Return of Xander Cage) as Hawk, Martyn Ford (F9: The Fast Saga) as General Karlak, Eliza Matengu (Thor: Love and Thunder) as Amarak, Manal El Feitury (Code Red) as Ayala, and Katrina Durden (Doctor Strange) as Saevus. Red Sonja is being produced by Jeffrey Greenstein, Mark Canton, Courtney Solomon, Christa Campbell, Lati Grobman, Andrea Sperling, Yariv Lerner, Jonathan Yunger, Les Weldon, Joe Gatta, and Tanner Mobley. Santa Mondega, une ville d’Amérique du Sud oubliée du reste du monde, où sommeillent de terribles secrets… Un serial killer qui assassine ceux qui ont eu la malchance de lire un énigmatique livre sans nom… La seule victime encore vivante du tueur, qui, après cinq ans de coma, se réveille, amnésique… Deux flics très spéciaux, des barons du crime, des moines férus d’arts martiaux, une pierre précieuse à la valeur inestimable, un massacre ans un monastère isolé, quelques clins d’œil à Seven et à The ring… et voilà le thriller le plus rock’n’roll et le plus jubilatoire de l’année!

Mon avis :

Le livre m’intriguait du fait qu’il n’y a pas de nom d’auteur et que la quatrième de couverture, l’histoire semble bonne. En effet, les personnages ont tous des personnalités explosives, bien défini. Tout au long de la lecture, il y a des références sur la culture générale, donc j’ai eu un sourire en coin en lisant ces passages. Un excellent roman policier, le suspense débute dès les premières pages et ne lâche pas d’un cran jusqu’à la dernière page. J’ai fait des recherches, cependant je n’ai pas trouvé qui aurait pu écrire ce livre. Il y a des suppositions comme Quentin Tarantino pour le style d’écriture.

L’euthanasie

L'euthanasie, mot dérivé du grec, signifie « belle mort » ; on parle aussi parfois de « suicide médicalement assisté ». Le médecin qui a aidé Sue Rodriguez à mettre fin à ses jours a pratiqué une euthanasie active, ce qui veut dire qu'il a pris des mesures qui accélèrent le décès, en administrant, par exemple, une injection. Pour bien des gens, ce geste diffère au plan moral de l'euthanasie passive, qui consiste à cesser ou à ne pas commencer un traitement susceptible de prolonger la vie. James Rachels et d'autres philosophes soutiennent qu'il n'y a pas de différence au plan moral entre ces deux formes d'euthanasie, car elles ont toutes les deux la même intention et la même conséquence: la mort d'un être humain. D'autres contestent cette idée. Des théologiennes et des théologiens, par exemple, font valoir que l'euthanasie active est moralement répréhensible parce qu'elle équivaut à « jouer le rôle de Dieu ». Ils affirment que Dieu seul peut décider de la vie et de la mort. D'autres encore font une distinction entre les mesures ordinaires et extraordinaires de maintien de la vie. À leur avis, il est moralement acceptable de refuser de prendre des mesures extraordinaires, comme d'employer des moyens. 

Une des questions les plus importantes du débat sur le bien-fondé moral de l'euthanasie est celle du consentement de la patiente ou du patient, car il aide la société à faire la distinction entre l'euthanasie et le meurtre. Le consentement véritable est un consentement compétent, éclairé et volontaire. La compétence de la patiente ou du patient renvoie à son aptitude à une décision et à en juger les conséquences. Il n'est toutefois pas toujours facile de comprendre la compétence d'une personne. Est-il juste de s'attendre à ce qu'une personne malade, blessée ou sous l'influence de puissants médicaments ait un jugement rationnel? Le consentement éclairé signifie que la patiente ou le patient connaît et comprend - les procédures, les solutions de rechange, les conséquences positives et négatives, les facteurs de risque et ainsi de suite. Encore faut-il juger si le consentement est assez éclairé. Le consentement volontaire signifie, bien entendu, que la patiente ou le patient donne son consentement sans subir de contrainte. Pour s'assurer que le consentement de la patiente ou du patient est compétent, éclairé et volontaire, les spécialistes de la santé peuvent exiger une demande écrite produite devant témoin. Ils peuvent aussi exiger que la patiente ou le patient attende pendant une durée spécifique, qu'on le conseille et qu'il demande l'opinion d'autres spécialistes sur son diagnostic et ses chances de guérison. 

Certains adeptes de l'euthanasie soulèvent aussi des arguments financiers. Citant le coût élevé de l'utilisation d'un système de survie pour maintenir une personne en vie, ils affirment que l'euthanasie est justifiée quand il est peu probable que la ou le malade se remettra d'un coma ou d'une grave blessure. D'autres opposent à cet argument l'idée que l'argent ne doit pas compter lorsqu'il est question d'une vie humaine. Comme c'est souvent le cas dans les débats éthiques, les personnes qui s'opposent à l'euthanasie soulèvent l'argument de la pente fatale.
