closeups, genetics, and AU ideas under the cut

AU Ideas:
In this hypothetical alternate universe, Nightcloud takes the place of the parent of Leaf’s kits. Leafpool still has her little run-away with Crow, and when she comes back to the badger attack, Nightcloud is one of the WindClan reinforcements that come to help drive the badgers away. She and Leafpool later bond over their (both negative and positive) feelings about Crowfeather. They meet up a few times, and while they don’t get as close as Crow and Leaf did, but they meet up enough times for Leaf to realize she’s pregnant with Nightcloud’s kits. By this time they’d mostly stopped meeting up, it was mostly a fling, but Leaf is definitely pregnant.
Leaf’s same “I need to go somewhere because StarClan” excuse happens, but she doesn’t bring Squirrelflight with her this time. Instead, she brings Nightcloud, and although they aren’t romantically attracted to each other, they have a bond, and Nightcloud agrees to take the kits back to WindClan, say she found them abandoned around the border, and raise them as her own.
Leafpool gives birth to three kits, and names them Rabbitkit, Nightkit, and Birchkit. They stay out for about one moon, and then Nightcloud brings them to the WindClan and Leafpool returns to ThunderClan.

Genetics:
Leafpool- Aa (agouti carries nonagouti) Bb (black carries chocolate) Dd (nondilute carries dilute) mcmc (classic tabby) XOXo (red, nonred- tortie) Ll (shorthair carries longhair)
Nightcloud- aa (nonagouti) Bb (black carries choc) Dd (nondilute carries dilute) Mcmc (mackerel tabby carries classic) XoY (nonred (she’s trans in this AU)) ll (longhair)
Rabbitstep- Aa (agouti carries non) bb (chocolate) dd (dilute- lilac) mcmc (classic tabby) XoY (nonred) ll (longhair)
Nightspark- aa (nonagouti) BB (black) DD (nondilute) mcmc (classic tabby) XOXo (red, nonred- tortie) Ll (longhair carries short)
Birchpool- Aa (agouti carries non) Bb (black carries choc) Dd? (dilute carries non) McMc (mackerel tabby) XoY (nonred (she’s trans too)) LL (shorthair)

Loners:
Big Blue: friendly dark gray tom who has moved into the ruins of a barn
Shy: small, highly aggressive tortoiseshell mollie. Lives with BB in the abandoned barn
Misha: small cream and white tom who lives near Windclan territory. A nuisance.

Windclan is the only clan that has access to grain, and uses it to make tunnel buns, little pockets of unleavened bread filled with meat and bugs, but I would like to present something else.... FLATBREAD!
Flatbread is one of the oldest known bread recipes in the world, and can be traced back over 70,000 years ago! That was before agriculture, and even permanent construction! Thus, given the tech the BB! Warrior cats have, flatbread is definitely within the realm of possibilities! Flatbread is typically made of flour, salt, water, with fat as an addition in some modern recipes.
Due to it being unleavened, yeast is in no way a problem for their kitty stomachs, and many flatbreads can just be cooked on hot stones.

Bryce/Beaconpaw/Beaconlight
Tumblr media
Bryce is a golden tabby tom with yellow eyes.
He was completely in shock when he woke up as a cat, as he figured he was dreaming. This was immediately debunked when he met Magewhisker and Breezestar.
As Beaconpaw, he and Omegapaw sadly butted heads often, much to the anger of their clanmates. Even after becoming a warrior, Beaconlight still fought and argued with Omegawraith, which angered Magewhisker, now named Magestar, into making the two clean out the elders den for a moon.

my magnum fucking opus everyone (emh warrior cats au)
hey guys so i haven't posted art in a HOT minute and ngl its not because of this post lmao im just a lazy fuck. anyway welcome to my fucking EMH WARRIOR CATS AU!!!! im gonna do Evan, Vinnie and Jeff and then cut so if u wanna see Steph, HABIT (True form and Normal) and Alex ya gotta go under the cut sorry bud. feel free to send asks abt this if ur interested im makin this shit its own tag and everything bb
Tumblr media
Swiftfoot (Evan)
Warrior of Windclan
Swiftfoot believes himself destined for greatness. Despite his smaller size he's always been one of the best hunters and fighters in his clan, and always put in his best effort. So when a "Starclan" cat going by HABIT proposes to give him leadership and power if he just lets HABIT do all the work, how is he supposed to say no? Little does he know, this would plunge his life into a hell he could NEVER prepare for.
Tumblr media
Rabbitclaw (Jeff)
Warrior of Windclan
Rabbitclaw was always the smartest of the group. He is typical for Windclan, tall and lanky, but he is by all means not past average in physical deeds. However, he has always been the tom to come to for advice. That was, until his mate Frostberry had died while the medicine cat was out collecting herbs. And when he starts pointing fingers (paws? tails?) things get a lot more complicated, with more and more Windclan members drop dead, with many theories. The leader and reccently appointed deputy (his friend, Swiftfoot) swear up and down it's dogs, it's twolegs, it's poisoned prey. But he thinks a cats behind it. And right when he's about to find the culprit, Swiftfoot tells him to come visit him by the barn.
Tumblr media
Bramblebush (Vinnie)
Warrior of Windclan
Bramblebush was a natural born leader, and was quite strong when it came to work ethic. He always pulled his weight and then some, and was very competitive with his friend, Swiftfoot. But, one night, Bramblebush had a strange dream about a silver tom. And then another. And then another. And they were getting more and more prophetic. But then he started having conflicting dreams and training with a black and silver tom, both sides pulling him in opposite directions, divinity and depravity. Soon enough, Windclan members start dropping like flies and many of his dreams point to Swiftfoot. He finally decides to confront the recently appointed deputy after his friend Rabbitclaw was found dead by a barn, but got attacked by him and was not only threatened, but forced to help him, and it ALL went downhill from there...
ok hoes if you want habit, steph, or alex ya gotta click the cut, this shits already long
Tumblr media
Heronfeather (Alex)
Warrior of Windclan
Heronfeather is quite.. complicated. He and his brother, Rabbitclaw, had a rough past. Their parents were taken in a culling twolegs performed on the clans (how he got his face scar). Since then, Heronfeather has been a more anxious cat, always careful with his next step. But he is a lot smarter than many take him for. Many underestimate him, take him as a paranoid tom and that's it. But when things start going on around camp, without his brothers approval, he IMMEDIATELY starts investigating, getting him farther than his brother, pinning the culprit as Swiftfoot. However, unknowing that Bramblebush and Swiftfoot were now partnered up, he goes on a patrol with them thinking he was safe in numbers. However, he does not return.
Tumblr media
Wolfpaws (Steph)
Medic of Windclan
Wolfpaws is a victim of unfortunate circumstance. She initially was not tied up in any of this, she just helped heal her clanmates and occasionally give advice. Until she comes back to camp one day to find her friend, Frostberry's, dead body right in the middle. Rabbitclaw immediately starts accusing her, but the new deputy defends her. She finds comfort in him and later they have the little orange kit depicted, Myrtlekit! However, she finds herself more and more uneased by her (secret) mates behavior...
Tumblr media
Swiftfoot (Evan) HABIT
Dark Forest Resident, posessing Warrior of Windclan
Not much to say about this guy that won't be in his little backstory. He's responsible for all the murders, the guy Bramblebush was training with in his dark forest dreams, the one pulling the strings. He easily pulls people along, tapping into the charisma and strength that Swiftfoot already possessed (transmasc swag).
Tumblr media
HABIT (True form?)
Dark forest residence, past Skyclan deputy
HABIT was known as Jackalfrost when he was a deputy/warrior, and he was horrific. He lived in the lap of luxury as a kittypet until he joined the clans, which he only wanted to battle and fight, and threatened his way into the deputy position. He ruled and killed for sport (made cats battle for his entertainment, sent kits into training/battle super early, had an iron grip on the code and would punish minor breakers by death, etc.) He was assassinated by a silver tabby tom, the Thunderclan medic Silverwhisker. He still haunts the clans, taking some poor cats body every few years and doing it all again.
ok i'm done now AMA about this in asks PLEASE !!!!!! PLEAS E E

clan culture inspiration fic master post
a collection of fics/series/w/e i've used for inspiration. ordered by how much i used them
Flightless Dove, Poison Ivy acaciapines
read it, it’s good. it's 100% my main fic inspiration, i love it, it's very good.
the light that shines on you solacefruit
huge inspiration for my riverclan. just. massively where i get a lot of ideas. probably a larger source of material than flightless dove, if i'm being honest.
RIVERCLAN leaders have a litany of names. weather caller, storm seer, spirit walker. a new leader being made is a chance to find another for the list. these names are to honor leaders for the role they play in their lives.
(names. leaders. meaning.)
so you can see where i got that from.
Warriors Redux Deconstruction Dullard on ao3 (not linked)
i've split this into two parts, because there's a lot. i'm a fan of this in terms of world building, but i've been select in what i've used from it. deconstruction is linked highly because it had a lot of key details that shaped my opinions on what wouldn't be. a lot of this i would've changed anyway, but i wanted to list WR because it'd be dishonest to act like this wasn't shaping my thoughts.
anyway, a short list of things that were mentioned in WR:D that i'd already decided on or am now using
behaviors. i mean, i've said "flicked her tail" or "flattened his ears" so much it's getting old, but by god if i am not being true to cats movements. i think WR:D is somewhat conservative on use of purring, but i've also been writing about kits, and a lot of purring is involved with kits, so special case, i suppose. but i'm very cautious with my descriptions. i've tried really hard not to use smile, because cats don't smile. that's the one that gets me the most.
water. this is kind of a specific thing. but. in ctd's fading echoes. the lake is a concern not because the cats need water, but because the prey needs water.
queens and toms. now. i have always been irritated by this. and the lack of female leadership. because toms should know they're kept on the graces of the queens. the sisters got it right. but i can't just kick out half the cast, so i'm forced to keep them. i have, however, kept toms out of the nursery. queens are protective around their kits. it's the best i can do to appease my strong desire to literally just kick every male cat out of the clan. in all of my stories, though, i keep track of who's in the nursery with what kits, because those kits are going to bond to every damn mother. it's super annoying that this isn't kept more clear anywhere. i have to do so much math and check so many allegiances every time.
kits. it's basically impossible to convince me to write this the way the hunters do, so even in ctd, we see kits not walking, not opening their eyes, until real kittens would. does this make the early chapters of growing shadows a pain because dovekit does basically nothing but sit and listen? yes. do i care? yes, it is important to me that dovekit does nothing but sit and listen because she's a baby. bb. need protect.
genetics. usually i correct coat colors for POV cats. because it bothers me. see: tortie dovekit/ivykit in CTD, and the fact that i think in jaywing, jayfeather is going to end up amber like brightheart. i need to do some research to double check, but...i think that's what will happen. (please don't ask about hollykit, ivykit, and lionkit. i don't even know who their parents are. how is crowfeather "dark grey, almost black"? what does that mean. how is leafpool even leafpool. i don't understand anything.)
religion. i'm not fundamentally changing how starclan works, because i'm writing the books where magic is confirmed real, but...i've tried to distance the connections with it. and god, so help me, i'm going to make things a proper religion for w&f. there will be religious things like prayer. god.
cultures, folklore, names. this is getting long so i'm lumping this together. basically, i've got some name stuff sorted out. it's not "traditional" naming, because i'm not going WR on this and renaming really important cats (altho the reason WR has my respect for traditional naming is because they're not afraid to rename cats to fit the scheme), but i have some pretty defined rules. and there will be folklore and stories. this is especially important for dovefeather, when she goes to riverclan.
Sharing Tongues Icej
a series. i don't think i've used much of this directly, but it has shaped a lot of my opinions on clans. it's why thunderclan is militaristic and why windclan is so strict.
it's also shaped my thoughts on a lot of parts of clan life. i'm writing this all out of order, so i'll say, a lot of the inspiration that warriors redux had, is shared in this series. i'm not sure if there's overlap in the interst, but it's got simularities.
especially in terms of relationships. i have a bit of a fascination with story telling as a form of culture, if only because in my personal life, story telling, especially verbal story telling, has always been really important. so i think a lot about it.
anyway, these are a good set of fics, and they're ranked so highly because they're kind of a paradigm i've crafted my thoughts around.
Tell me about your Ancestors Drowsy_Salamander
so this was what got me started, even over flightless dove. it got me thinking about the differences clans would have.
i haven't written "funerals. mourning. prayer." yet, although as you might guess from the fact that i have a title, it is on my mind. i think i'll draw heavily on this for that.
one other very specific line in this that i draw on is
When SkyClan was reformed by Firestar at the gorge, it was reformed in ThunderClan’s image.
now i say that specifically because i didn't want that. i wanted leafstar to find her own tradition. a lot of skyclan's destiny deals with her struggling to adapt the warrior code to her clan. so Ancestors continues by talking about tree's influence, and this is what i got from it:
SKYCLAN once held ceremonies at tilt, when the birds were quiet, but now, they hold most ceremonies at low moon, when the spirits are strongest. ...
apprentices are made at low sun, born from a time when they were not always gathered.
(ceremonies)
and i'm happy with that
Warriors Redux: Ammendment Dullard on ao3, not linked
this is ranked significantly lower than deconstruction because (a) i'm borrowing superificial things at best and (b) i had already come to a lot of these conclusions. still, i'm writing a full list because there are little things i don't think to write whole essays about sometimes. that said, whereas in deconstruction, i could basically say "yes, everything that's said here, i agree with, i'm only tweaking things for personal taste or because of differences in perspective" here it's more like "here are the things i'm using" and the other stuff is just there, but not really anything i want to use
time and date. in one of my generic CTD posts i had a few paragraphs about this. basically, i like the system of time. except for half, because that confuses me. so it's dawn, sunrise, low sun, (sun) tilt, sunhigh, dusk, moonrise, low moon, (moon) tilt, moonhigh, repeat. and kits are aged to apprentices at the beginning or rough midpoint of seasons.
numbers. math. drawing things in the dirt with claws. in short, yes, no, what the...no. just no. cats in my stories can basically count, but they don't really, like, count the way we do? they might say five leaf bares ago, because i am not saying, "the leaf bare before the one with X which was before the one with Y" and that's what a cat is thinking and maybe they have words for this, i don't know, i'm not writing that. four and nine are holy numbers, or the closest cats get. (apprentices are apprenticed at nine moons in the holy sense, because a queen pregnent for a three --- two, but who's counting --- and in the nursery for six. this will never come up in a story unless it's a background note, because it's confusing and hard to explain off the cuff.) i don't have to explain my last point.
names. i have my own rules. i don't intend on changing character names with the exception of the symbolism in jaywing and dovefeather, but i may at some point make some comments on what, based on my rules, i would do. i don't want to change names because it confuses me, but i don't want to say for sure that i won't. definitely not based on WR rules, i have my own form of "traditional naming" for the w&f world.
clan specific notes. you can find it in my writing. there's a lot of influence in it. i don't want to list everything.
come back to you one by one solacefruit
i haven't really used this for anything, i just generally like it. it's definitely given me inspiration for how i use stories, but not any particular thing.
it really is beautiful, though.
alright, that's about it.

windclan — year six — leaffall
larchpaw and needlepaw both die. idk. maybe there's an incident. there's like. there's weirdly a Plot now that's doing it's own thing? like agoseris and squilf are just. there. and hawkfrost...wyd bb?
anyway. it's making me lazy when i get to the other clans :(
kestrelkit dies, but palepaw and pearlpaw are apprenticed to indigobird and pineshore, respectively.
thistlekit also dies :( sorry stormfur.
nightcloud and crowfeather adopt an abandoned litter in a misguided hope to save their failing marriage, and they have three kits: noddingkit (large she-cat with black, red, grey, and cream patches), banekit (pale ginger tom), and streamkit (she-cat with dark points). and i mean. they sure do have three more kits now.

Struggling to find posts u've made in the past about Stoneclaw, but I love her sm. Definitely one of my BB Blorbos
I don't think I've ever put together a particular thingie on her, she's a beloved background character who tends to show up on her own in various places. Like when I talked about sign, before making the deafness guide!
BB!Stoneclaw is a gray-and-gold tortie, and the sister of Thrushwing. They come from one of the field guides, where it's revealed the two of them were sitting their vigil on the night that ShadowClan drove WindClan out of their home. In canon, Thrushwing is the survivor, but for BB, we all just kinda liked Stoneclaw's name more than Thrushwing's, so I decided to hit him with the Woman Beam.
On the night of the WindClan Massacre, Stoneclaw and Thrushwing were sitting vigil.
Daughters of Flytail and Eagleswoop, and grandkits of Tallstar himself. They were a promising young pair.
Before they even knew what hit them, they heard Brokenstar's yowl.
A squadron burst from the shadows, sliced Thrushwing's throat open, and smashed Stoneclaw's head to the ground
ShadowClan wasn't showing mercy, survivors were incidental. Their goal was to kill as many cats as possible.
Stoneclaw was dazed for a few seconds, going limp, but when she came to she leapt right back into the fray. She watched the rest of her family fold.
Tangleburr and her squadron went right for her father, Flytail, out of revenge for Lizardstripe, mobbing him and pulling him down
Eagleswoop just had a stroke of bad luck, failed to dodge, and was killed like prey
It was a horrific night, and what was once a large family was decimated to a couple of cats. She lost auncles, both parents, and her sister in one fell swoop.
Injured and aching, Stoneclaw said nothing as WindClan escaped the scene. The other survivors took it as a sign of great honor from the young warrior; that she had upheld her vow to the bitter end, even after losing so much.
But it lasted long after that night. The vigil has never truly 'ended' in her mind, so her vow of silence hasn't either.
Unfortunately, WindClan gets rough shake after rough shake from this point on, and she barely has a chance to heal in the constant barrage of violence and aggression. Between Nightstar's invasion, TigerClan, the BloodClan battle, the destruction of the White Hart woods, the Great Journey, and the Civil War... things only really started settling down years into her life, during Po3.
During the Civil War, Stoneclaw was actually ideologically aligned with Mudclaw, but took Onestar's side. She wanted to believe that Tallstar was lied to, but... she knew her grandfather better than anyone. Once the shock wore off, she had to face the horrible truth that he made a sudden, naiive decision.
It didn't take her long to stop regretting her choice, though. Her feelings are complicated, but her line too far is Mudclaw's willingness to attack his Clanmates.
Had she taken his side, she would have gone into battle with her future mate as a target. She doesn't think about it-- dismissing that she ever could have made such a choice.
Her internal monologue is a lot more afraid, frustrated, and exhausted than other cats would guess it is. Her actions don't match her thoughts.
She's hardworking, always trying to make her Clanmates comfortable, frets over her friends and family endlessly. Pair this with WindClan's assumption that her selective mutism is a "vow of silence," and most cats see her as an "ideal warrior." Someone kits should look up to and aspire to be.
She got into a relationship with Snapstorm waaaay too quickly; but luckily, Snapstorm is a really good mate.
After everything she'd been through, Snapstorm's cheerful, easygoing attitude was soothing and attractive. Snapstorm just had to say, "Hi Stoneclaw! Mice to see you around!" and then hand her a mouse for lunch and it was all over
Snapstorm was a BloodClan trader who joined along with Brushblaze, and one of the targets of the Civil War. She's a bit flighty and doesn't always think through everything she says, and doesn't worry about much either.
Their oldest kit is Buzzardclaw, who takes after Snapstorm a lot. So far I also gave them Crouchfoot in a later litter, but I've been thinking about giving them a bunch more.
The oldest litter was definitely accidental.
But not unwelcome. They both responded to it enthusiastically, Stoneclaw because she suddenly felt like she would have a big family again, and Snapstorm because she loves kids and just wanted to be a parent one day.
As mentioned before, they got into their mateship very quickly. They made each other happy and that's the whole reason.
Unfortunately, they would start seeing the difficulties of their personalities clashing while raising kittens. Which I just find FASCINATING which is honestly kinda why I want to throw more kits at them (not to mention how small WindClan is, padding is super appreciated)
See, Stoneclaw is dealing from serious CPTSD. Her mutism is NOT a vow. She can't speak and it's frustrating to her.
At the same time, watching the very helpful tail-signals that WindClan uses to communicate across the distant moor reminds her of battle signals, like she had to deal with during the fights with TigerClan. It's triggering, and that's ALSO stressful.
She's also lost so, so much of her family within the span of a few years, and is dealing with attachment issues as a result. Especially to that first litter, which she would be terrified of losing.
This makes an individual who can't communicate, but is desperate to. She hasn't been able to work well in groups for years, and unlike a more solitary cat like Willowclaw, this is not the result of a choice.
Snapstorm, being an outsider, is the first and only cat to not treat her behavior like... well, some kind of solemn vow to be "respected."
And that means a lot to Stoneclaw. Even if she was poetic, these are complicated feelings which would be hard to describe.
And Snapstorm is a sweetheart, but, she is putting a lot of effort into this relationship. She's not really great at focusing on one thing for too long, and a bit "forgetful" in the way that details go missing for a while until they come back later.
So sometimes an important bit of info slips her mind, or she misses a social cue and makes a joke that's a bit gruesome, or the fact that Clanmew is her second language rears up and she forgets words or translates a Townmew idiom directly and it Does Not Work.
While all this is happening, especially with the early litter, Stoneclaw is being a helicopter parent. Too worried to give her kits the freedom they need to develop, and Snapstorm is both trying to be a good parent and a good mate.
I'm fond of the idea that when Buzzardkit was very little, Stoneclaw was the Mi. But as she started to realize that her fear of losing him was hurting both of them, Snapstorm started taking over as Mi.
I think their dynamic is interesting. I like the idea of each litter ending up having a different upbringing, because of the state of their parents each time. Stone's also going to be sticking around for a very long time; definitely the last survivor of the WindClan Massacre, by many years. It's nice to think she's eventually surrounded by kits and grandkits, growing up in a better world than she did, even if it's not without its problems.
She's also going to start using Pawspeak, being one of its foundational members after developing a little friendship with SkyClan's Fallowfern. It's cathartic to her, finally feeling like there's a new context for WindClan's old tail signs, being used to communicate in a language rather than just be used for battle and hunting.
Stoneclaw is one of my personal little BB blorbos that I think about a lot. It's fun having conflicts like this going on in the background.

who is a character that you love in BB (for better or for worse lol) that you haven’t talked much about yet?
These kinds of questions can be difficult because my brain will just forget completely the minute I'm asked. Who am I. What's warriors cat
BUT it's probably some of the little random background guys who have interesting stories I haven't gotten into yet. I've actually been thinking about WindClan a lot.
Galerunner is one of them. Galerunner and Smokehaze are now the kittens of Brushblaze and Whitetail-- both exes of Onestar. They're born near the start of AVoS, and are pretty young when their dad dies collapsing a tunnel to save a ton of Kin escapees.
Smokehaze dies like she does in-canon, to the Impostor, but Galerunner is going to be present to the modern arc. He's Heathertail's little half-brother, in an odd way. Whitetail wasn't involved in raising Heathertail, but openly offered to Onestar that she would if he wanted.
So Heathertail's relationship to Galerunner is closer than her relationship with their mother, bringing them ALL together, and it's just really sweet. She tells him a lot of stories of Brushblaze (who was a really good friend of hers!) and eventually becomes his mentor.
Gale's a cheeky bastard, too. Very smug, self-assured. He thinks he's a cool guy but he just looks like a goober.
There's also Gorsetail, the mother of Thistleheart and Sedgewhisker. She has a lot going on but I haven't figured her out entirely yet.
First of all, she's Crowfeather's childhood best friend. They had a massive falling out over some dumb shit neither one of them even remembers, and drifted apart as young adults. If they ever remembered what it was, they would feel bitter that THIS is why they stopped talking-- but before a certain point, would just blame each other for not making the first move to reconnect.
She fell head over heels for Beechfur on the Great Journey, but he was waaay better at hiding his forbidden love than his sister Swallowtail. He saw it more as a fun fling. When she got pregnant in Po3, he ghosted her immediately. Gorsetail held out hope he was just busy for months-- even naming one kit "Marsh Thistle" as a secret reference to RiverClan.
In terms of personality, I know she was vaguely fun-loving as a kid and probably still has that goofy streak if you can get her to relax. There's probably a bit of a bitterness inside her, and she's not satisfied with her life. She never got to have a happy mateship, she lost one kid, not really powerful or significant. I think she gets more adventurous the older she gets, looking to make some sort of change in her life.
Her and Crowfeather reconnect, once they're older and a bit more self-aware. Passing each other a heatherhoney lozenge like it's a smoke break and commiserating in how wrinkly they are now.
WindClan's full of some interesting dudes now in my effort to distribute more personality outside of ThunderClan. Stoneclaw and her traumatic muteness, Willowclaw the ferocious and her love of kibble, Cranberrysplash the ex-street urchin whose old name was Spaghetti Bolognaise. Leaftail and his onesided rivalry with Hallowflight of RiverClan.
Shame they neglected WindClan so badly and there's so few warriors there with established personalities, but hey. Opportunity for me to build cool stuff.

grasshopper post got me thinking... does sorreltail have any friends in windclan that she can go nuts over grasshoppers with?
Considering I imagine Torear is always having problems getting his sons (Kestrel and Hare) to eat their vegetables, he feels right for that! He probably makes some BANGER grubcakes and forged a good bond with Sorreltail during the journey.
It'd impress him that there's a ThunderClan cat who can scoff down hopper poppers with the best of 'em and try to teach her the trick to getting them perfectly crunchy.
Other friendly WindClan cats who are active around this time;
Pigeonflight He's an elder, or being goaded into retiring, but he was part of the BloodClan trading patrols and would be pretty chill with being approached.
Addersong A kit that Talltail saved from an adder, cinching the deputy position over his own son, Flytail. Addersong just gives me big Aftergathering Buddy vibes. He also plays the breezebone.
Snapstorm An ex-BloodClan trader who joined along with her bestie, Brushblaze. I feel like her old habits die hard. She's just a natural networker, she loves connecting people, having friends in other Clans, and cutting deals with them. I'm sure Onestar did eventually make it into a bit of an issue in his later, more paranoid years.

Do you think Windclan would have their camp in said ruins? It would be an interesting place for them to set down, though I can imagine that they probably wouldn’t seeing as how they’re clearly a human place and the cats are very much traumatized by humans, so it might be seen as a bad omen to even go near them
I heavily considered it, but ultimately yeah, no, Clan cats would be waaay too traumatized by human structures to repurpose one.
Additionally, I'm positive that the area would get semi-frequent human visitors. Horseback riding and dog-walking is probably banned in that area (both to preserve the heathland and to protect the Clan cats later) but in their TNP exploration, WindClan would find a lot of stale human scent and consider the site "not totally abandoned."
Harepaw, Heatherpaw, and Breezepaw probably hang out there a lot in secret, though. It's the Scary Forbidden Place you can sneak off to when you don't want to be bothered by adults.
