Hi! I'm really hoping you'll continue Brightside 🥺 tbh you got me hooked from the first chapter and her thoughts about the spngcord were exactly how I would imagine Spider would feel if Avatar seriously considered the consequences of a child remaining unclaimed. If you're up to writing more, I would really like to read Jake's POV of the sweetheart nickname situation you wrote or at least a continuation of it 💙
Okay, your comment actually made me reread it and realize it wasn't as random as I thought lol. I went back through my old writing and here's a random short scene between Jake and Spider. Not sure if I'll restart Brightside, but you have inspired me again, so I'll at least post some stuff from it on here.
“Spider, come on, sweetheart.” Jake beckoned, arms reached forward. “I’ll catch you, I promise.”
Sweetheart? When had Spider been called anything but, well, Spider? Kiri was baby girl, the boys were buddy and son. Tuk had too many nicknames to keep count of. But, her? Jake had never cared enough to call by anything like sweetheart. Spider had never been delicate enough for such a word.
Her dad had nicknames for her. Plenty of them. Tiger and Sport, Buddy and Kiddo. It seemed like he did everything he could to avoid saying her name, to keep from acknowledging her as Spider.
Both of them were pulling her in directions she didn’t want to go.
“Spider, c’mon! Baby, just come here, please!” He shouted, desperate. Trust me, he seemed to be yelling at her.
In the months— and oh, it had been months —she’d been stuck with the recoms, all she’d wanted was to be saved. So, why did something about it feel so wrong?
"Love is an elusive, unrealistic, foreign concept. I know some people feel it, and it's not that I'm hardened. I'm an optimist, but first and foremost, I'm a realist. My life will not follow a fairy tale, and that's okay. My life is reality. And in my reality, people don't fall in love and get married and live happily ever after, because life is complicated. And messy. I'm happy knowing that fairy tales exist out there for people......"
Today's polish was fun and bright. 🌞 In the bottle the jelly base looked like a bright orange, but on the nail it became more of a salmon color. I LOVED the flakes in this one. The shift they have from pink to gold seemed to make the whole nail shift color. You can especially see it in the shade. This is Brightside from Cirque Colors.
I wrote this a little while ago and just reread it. I love it too much to keep it to myself, so here's a sneak peak into way further into this fic.
