I don't wanna make any long-winded posts arguing with people but I figured it would be worth saying something to the people who feel insecure about posting certain characters now
No, you're not in the wrong for talking about certain characters/ships. You're not secretly misogynistic or internalizing anything based on your favorites. Don't let people psychoanalyze you over fiction and don't take unjustified criticism to heart. You know yourself better than strangers on the internet
And oh my god, you are not annoying for making posts about popular characters. Any fan content in small fandoms is good content so keep it up! Talk about whatever you want and go ham babes

On one hand, I want a final fantasy 6 remake, because the game is criminally underrated and the amount of fan content (which is all absolutely fantastic btw) is Not Enough for my neurodivergent, hyperfixating brain.
On the other hand, that would inevitably encourage more people to join the fandom, which would be great, except it seems these days the bigger a fandom gets the more toxic it becomes, and I really like what we have going on over here in our little corner. We all just love the game and its characters and nobody fights about who should and shouldn't date who or who you shouldn't like because they're ~problematique~. Nobody's trying to make one ship morally better than another, nobody's calling anyone names or threatening to doxx people who don't agree with their opinions. It's so peaceful and I love that for us. We're just vibing. Moisturized. Unbothered. In our lane. Flourishing.

Finally got around to watching Boom (was too busy to watch it on the day it came out). It wasn't what I'd call one of my all time favorite episodes but I thought it was overall pretty good and definitely reinforced my feeling that Steven Moffat, for all his flaws, is actually a pretty good writer, he's just a terrible showrunner. When he's writing stand alone episodes he's usually at bare minimum decent and often, with episodes like Blink, even great, and I think the impression I get is he's good at coming up with ideas and horrible at sustaining them. Every time he brings something back he seems to feel the need to muck it up and make it more confusing and more convoluted and detract from the thing that made it interesting and cool in the first place. Truly the epitome of less is more. You can see it with stuff he introduced in the episodes he wrote during the original RTD era and then brought back as showrunner. The Weeping Angels got less intimidating and more convoluted and dull every time he wrote a new story with them. River Song was never as good a character as she was in her debut episodes because her hot mess of a storyline and backstory completely overrode the things that made her stand out in the Library episodes. Anyway. I don't mind him writing further stand alone episodes but I hope that's all he gets to do. I don't want him having significant input on long-term plot arcs.

yes, death mark is a rather flawed game. its got a lot of problems in all three iterations and in some ways death mark one, while being less technically impressive (lack of animations, no character sprites actively moving, art a little worse overall, less character sprites in general) it kind of handled a lot of very important aspects of the game better. namely, the plot, character integration/interaction, timeline, and yashiki just being a lil baby who isnt straight up inexcusably bad at his job--
but you must consider this:
Death mark 2 yashiki bondage CG,

kind of pathetic and gross that the apocalypse in tlou is an allegory for fascism's destruction of humanity and failure to ever rebuild a civilization, especially not one that provides necessary resources for its people. and then game 2 is all about how ellies revenge destroys her life. destroys and ends the lives of anyone who so much as looks in the general direction of her cruel vengeance, and her journey of recognizing hypocrisy in the logic she practices. how suffering does not make you a better person. one of the exact lessons to be learned from wwii survivors going on to colonize and genocide the nation of palestine during the nakba. and yet neil druckmann is posting this pro israel shit LATER BACKTRACKING IT TRYING TO BE “BIPARTISAN” like do u know what ur game is about . sorry im just taking it really fucking personal because it’s actually so fucking gross
