Before the jjk chapter 239 leaks drop, let me just share my current takes on:

1) Yuji's new source of power.

2) Yuji and Sukuna parallels (?).

1) Yuji ate his brothers.

But before we get into that, we have to discuss Yuji's ability.

I got this from an explanation vid on youtube. (I can't remember the channel though because I kinda just stumbled upon it, because let's be honest at some point we're gonna need help, jjk is complex read) It was a helpful video that explained how Yuji eating cursed objects worked/affected him. To summarize, Yuji acts like some sort of sponge, he absorbs the curse from the cursed object, and when he ate one of Sukuna's fingers he became his vessel, and eating other cursed objects after being Sukuna's vessel just negated any curse from said object because Sukuna being the strongest curse trumps its power. Hypothetically, if Yuji eats a cursed object with Sukuna no longer in him, he will finally be able to absorb the curse/ curse technique that object offers.

But, if you don't accept that explanation there's always chapter 220 where Yuji cites Shoko's explanation/observation that AFTER he becomes Sukuna's vessel is when he became able to absorb curses from cursed objects.

Actually, both explanations of how Yuji takes in new power are the same, just with timing difference of when this ability started. (Personally, i side with the video, that Yuji always had this ability and was the reason for him to be able to become a vessel in the first place)

Anyway back to chapter 220, after Yuji cites Shoko's take on his curse absorbing ability, he explains he'll eat anything (to be strong) and kill Sukuna. and Later in that same chapter we see a panel with a conversation between Yuji and Choso. Yuji is apologizing for Choso's brothers, which could easily be mistaken to be about Kechizu and Eso. But I think Choso had already been on Yuji's side long enough for them to talk that out and also, Choso replies "No problem as long as they live on inside you." I don't know about you but that clearly signifies him eating all the remaining curse womb death paintings to gain their cursed technique. Hence, chapter 239 where we see his newly acquired strength.

2) Yuji and Sukuna are both Cursed wombs

After chapter 143, where Yuta fake assasinates Yuji, Yuji sees a flashback of his mother with stitches on her head. This chapter is where we find out that Yuji really is Choso's brother and a Cursed womb: Death painting.

This is purely speculation on my part but hear me out, Sukuna is inexplicably powerful, the STRONGEST of his time. He was previously said to be a sorcerer that turned into a cursed spirit, or so the story goes. In chapter 237, During his fight with Gojo he revealed he was an unwanted child, Gojo in the next chapter also wanted to teach him love, because he believed Sukuna and himself were similar in their isolation in being the strongest, not being able to fully live normal lives like everyone else, even Yoruzu, the sorcerer possessing Tsumiki, wanted to Love sukuna (although hers was more of an unhealthy obsession to say the least) I think both got the reason behind Sukuna isolation wrong. Gojo thinks it's because of his power difference, but I believe it's because of Sukuna being a curse womb, half-human, half-cursed spirit.

As far back as in chapter 60, Kechizu tells the story of the orjgin story of the cursed womb death paintings. Loosely, there was a woman in the Meiji era that is able to conceive a half cursed spirit child and in the story she's ostracized by her community and so she asks for help from jujutsu sorcerers with the baby's corpse in hand. That's when Noritoshi Kamo aka Kenkaju gets a hold of her and performs experiments on her resulting into 9 pregnancies and 9 abortions. How does Sukuna fit into this story? I speculate he was the first child/corpse in the story, he either wasn't dead maybe the mother pretended he was dead to get him to safety, maybe he was dead and was brought back to life by Kenkaju, either way he was that unwanted child.

In chapter 116, where Sukuna finished off Jogo, they had an interesting conversation where Sukuna ended by praising Jogo stating that Jogo was strong, the acknowledgment and validation stirred up Jogo's emotions as he asks what it was he was feeling as he was brought to tears. This was an early indicator that Sukuna probably never experienced such emotions himself as he simply replied "Don't ask me, I don't know either." Further reinforcing the lack of connections and bond in Sukuna's life as an unwanted child.

I just also want to add that Sukuna has marks on his arms like those of Akaza from demon slayer, which has in fact a real practice in Japan where a thief is marked with a tattoo on the arms for each crime. I assumed he there was a time in Sukuna's life, based on this, when he was vulnerable enough for even mere humans to be able to punish him, but this could just be a stretch and those marks could mean nothing because in researching this I found that this practice started in the Edo period and was banned in the Meiji era which is when the death painting story takes place.

Idk what this fight and all was going on on twitter, i did saw it on my tl but i just can't into their stupidity. I thought armys were fighting with other fandoms regarding music promotions and the gun gesture and all.

When i saw the real a day ago all i thought was "wow" and i moved the heck on. The only other thing that thought was "oh they can film themselves while wearing army clothes that's good". That's because i know they're not allowed to film content while serving and can't get their voice recorded hence no military member was shown in any bangtan bomb.

Idk when people are going to get over military. see it was written that they were going to serve in the military the moment they were born as a South korean, Doens't Matter if they're BTS or what not. although i do believe the government should have taken into consideration how much BTS benefits the country and exempt them but that didn't happen and we already accepted it. I don't get this crying and throwing up everytime they see members. it's one thing you missed them it's another to always start some old discussions on tl every single time. Armys have prided themselves (and BTS) on being the most conscientious fandom and group. In retrospect a lot of it was for their own gratification and lauding it over kpop fandoms out of self righteousness, but the outcomes were usually positive. Like the organizations that sprung up, the donations, raising awareness etc. So you know, fine. But just like kpop stans, the majority of armys also don’t really care about things until it starts to affect to their stanning experience or reflect on bts to the point they start feeling guilty. So some of them become obsessed with appearing morally superior, hyper analyze and need BTS to be infallible for their own piece of mind.

And some of them indeed are following the crowd mainly because they don’t want to get “canceled” for not actively being involved. Like what good is your so called activism if it’s only to keep a following on SOCMED? Being socially aware and taking initiative will never be a bad thing, but it really just looks like trying to upkeep a certain image that they made for themselves and it’s never been entirely genuine.

Wait what is the antonius tertius vs olmos drama i need to know more about it, ,,,,,,

Alright sorry for the wait @swallowtail-ageha! I was working away at this in muh drafts.

Here’s the basic run-down lol.

So, back when Elden Ring was still pretty new and people were digging into all the weird-ass lore and development, the soundtracks were starting to be scrutinized too, and lemme tell ya, the misinformation was rampant.

There were people I got into debates with over production who were like “ayo this soundtrack is all fake samples/keyboard created” lmao, which I was up in arms about because seriously the only Souls OST that was literally 90% sample libraries was DS2, but anyway, MOVING ON.

This guy called Daniel Olmos on YouTube popped up and started making lyric vids. There had already been some people making “fan-translated” videos where the creators fully acknowledged that they were basically making lyrics up by ear. If I remember right, half of it was just gibberish.

But then Mr. Olmos showed up and presented his vids differently. According to him, he was accurately translating to the best of his ability because he, and I quote, spoke Spanish and could thereby understand the extremely dissonant, chaotic slew of “Latin” lyrics in every ER boss theme. AND, he could translate it into near-perfect English. So he like. Just started posting “translations” without any specific notice about his process and garnered thousands of views. His most well-known was his Godskin Apostles vid.

It got way out of hand too. I was watching from a distance and was kinda concerned like “Umm, people are just taking this guy for his word and uhhh….”

BUT THEN THE ARTICLES CAME! And oh god, I still remember the headlines being like, “HIdDEn LoRE iN ER lATin LyRicS.”

“GODRICK CALLED MALENIA A “BITCH”” (we’ll get to that)

BLATANT and UTTER misinformation casually being published by actual game journalists who didn’t realize Olmos was making the majority of this shit up and that there were literally no lyrics to be translated. So much of what he even said the lyrics were didn’t sound right or line-up anyway, but I was like…well, I guess I should just let this play out?

Oh and, to make things even better—this was around the time when the Malenia hate was at an all-time high, so when Olmos conveniently “translated” the so-called lyrics to Godrick’s theme, he included a line where the choir screamed in “BITCH” in so-called Latin, which was apparently a line meant to represent Godrick’s hatred towards Malenia after she kicked his ass.

You know. The type of lyrics FromSoft likes to have in their songs.

Needless to say, the Malenia haters were having a fucking field day.

ANYWAY—

Then there was Tertius, whom I kind of befriended on the sidelines because he was uploading very chill and informative videos + he made some banger music, especially covers of Bloodborne songs and the like. Anyway, he posted this vid on Malenia’s theme that I found and immediately I could tell he had done his research. He’s a Latin student and a bit of a journalist…I mean, he investigates and digs for direct information from specific sources and writes about what he finds with permission so….independent or no, he follows through with his research.

We were both young journalists so I just clicked with the guy and tried to support him. He had been talking directly to the people that had been involved in the Budapest Film Orchestra that performed the ER pieces and some of the music producers, I believe. That’s when he confirmed that the lyrics were computer generated “Latin syllables” that ultimately meant nothing. It was just to give the choir something to work with that also sounded cool.

This is actually really common in the video game and “epic” music world, so it didn’t surprise me, but it was a little disappointing, and I am fairly certain that’s why there was so much chaos afterwards.

Because Tertius started trying to spread the word, particularly on Reddit, where Olmos was ALSO active and trying to share his vids. Tertius had that classic “good journalist” streak that had him fully combatting any and all misinformation he came across, which I relate to, but maybe it was just the way he did it, because the Olmos Squad was pissed bro.

Tertius had receipts of his emails with the musicians and producers, he had pretty solid evidence for his claim, and dude…just listening to his own “lyric” vids, I could hear the choir chanting the syllables so much more in the clear in comparison to Olmos’ stuff. It was uncanny.

But nah, Olmos and the Redditbros weren’t having it. They just brushed him off and said he was being obnoxious + that his videos were bad because his mic quality was low and his accent was hard to understand -_-

A+ guys.

Olmos was just defensive mostly and thought he was just being attacked. So, of course he refused to acknowledge the misleading nature of his vids and the fighting went nowhere. It quieted down a bit after that, but Tertius was rightfully upset. He had totally expected people to be delighted to hear the true story behind the ER themes, but of course they were just disgruntled and thought Tertius was just trying to dismantle Olmos. Lmao, it was so stupid, man.

Also, it didn’t help that Olmos was gaining subs and views at a rapid pace while Tertius was seriously falling behind. It was clear who had more support. At that point, I felt like a loudly cheering fan in a crowd of three on Tertius’ channel while Olmos was hosting a stadium lol. It was bad.

But then guess who fucking fixed it. ME.

Okay, I’m kidding—it wasn’t all me, but basically I found Tertius commenting under one of Olmos’ vids and he was pissed like:

“Dude wtf, I was trying to share the TRUTH and you sic’d your following on me and silenced me and that isn’t fair, bro. You are sharing false info. Just say these supposed lyrics are fan-translated!”

Enter Olmos:

“Dude, I speak Spanish and study Latin, so I am only translating what I am hearing. There is no false info here. Why u attacking meeee”

(Can you tell I’m paraphrasing?)

Anyway, then I interjected and if I remember right, I basically told Olmos (?) or maybe one of his fans that had butted in to cut the BS and just let people know the truth because there were actual articles being written about this shit that was really just basically fake and that Tertius had literally contacted inside sources that SENT him the transcripts of what the computer had generated for the choir.

I was basically yelling “Hey uh….THIS IS A PROBLEM AND EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT DOING THIS OUT OF MALICE, YOUR NEW FANS ARE TAKING YOU AT YOUR WORD AND BELIEVING A BUNCH OF FAKE STUFF ABOUT ER’S MUSIC.”

And then, to my absolute bewilderment, Olmos actually…listened to me? He literally was all “No, you’re right. I’m sorry. I was being misleading.”

Then he literally turned and apologized to Tertius for everything and they got all buddy-buddy in that fucking comment section and Olmos put “fan-translated” in the title of all his vids and ultimately made a bunch of them private or whatever, so now his channel is just a ghost of what it was. He still has tons of subs, but he almost never posts and his old ER vids are all gone lmao.

Tertius went on to keep making videos and then all those old articles about hidden ER lore in the Latin lyrics have since been replaced with “ER’s Latin lyrics are all gibberish” and the OG articles have “UPDATE: These lyrics have since been revealed to be inaccurate” in their taglines.

So, the world has healed, the butterflies and flowers came back, and all is well.

Dude, this whole fiasco was actually so funny to me when it ended though, because the stupid-ass power of friendship and YouTube essay comments conclusion literally had me laughing for a whole day afterwards. You had to have been there, but it had been a couple weeks of this stupid online drama that revolved around misinformation and debate on Latin translation and Reddit rage was actually aggravating to watch happen in real time. The actual false journalism too like??? It had gone beyond the confines of Reddit.

I was just glad Olmos quit while he was ahead, because the truth was coming out and he could have had a much bigger downfall than just a bit of humbled admittance in the comment section of one of his own vids. I was pleasantly surprised. He was actually pretty cool to me even though I had called him out.

(Tertius also upgraded his vids and now has posted actual, official Bloodborne lyrics now, bless him. Show him support if you can! He does great work for us).

Anyway, hope that was an entertaining summary of the Olmos vs Tertius drama lmao. I’m still laughing when I think about it. I am sure I still have an actual call-out post for Olmos on this blog somewhere that I made before the issue was resolved 💀💀

Just gonna ramble for a bit: I was watching TheRealJims on Youtube (he’s a Simpsons youtuber who makes vids on the characters and episodes/seasons of the show. He does really good work, check him out) and it kinda made me realize something:

The incarnation of Splinter from Rise of the TMNT still has a bit of the typical Hamato Yoshi character in him, as well as a bit of Jackie Chan energy given the Hollywood part of his backstory and his fighting style, but the biggest source of inspiration for Rise!Splinter seems to be classic era Homer Simpson.

Like, when you think about it, these two characters actually have a TON in common.

On the surface, they can both be lazy and love watching their TV (though it could be argued that Splints partially does this as a way to cope while Homer just likes TV). They can also both make some pretty dumb decisions and can sometimes be oblivious, although they aren’t completely brain dead. They just sometimes need something pointed out to them in order to realize when something’s wrong.

Then you’ve got their parenting styles. Both Splints and Homer are... imperfect fathers to say the least. They’ve both made mistakes and can be pretty inconsiderate to their kids at times, even being selfish - whether they mean to or not. But at the same time, both Homer and Splints love their kids with all their heart and are not only willing to sacrifice for them but will fight like hell to protect them. 

Homer will go work a dead end job at a Nuclear Plant so he has the money to raise his new baby, and Splinter was willing to fight the Foot Clan and the Shredder on his own because he didn’t want to drag his sons into it/risk their lives, only allowing it when they insisted/he learned they were already involved. When he upsets his kids, Homer will do what he can to make things right, just as Splinter will try to make things right when he messes up.

There’s even parts of their backstory that are scarily similar. We eventually learn that both Splints and Homer lost their mothers at a very young age and had to grow up with fathers/grandfathers that weren’t really supportive. It could be argued that while they weren’t heartless, both Abe and Sho were emotionally detached and very much set in their ways. 

As such, a strong bond wasn’t able to form. Homer sees his father as a nuisance, a bitter old man, and is just frustrated by him, both because he’s senile and because he still remembers Abe not being there for him for most of his childhood. Yoshi saw Sho as someone who ONLY cared about tradition - not family - and thus was totally okay with forcing Yoshi to sacrifice his dreams and ambitions (the fact that Yoshi thought the whole Shredder thing was just a myth and thus believed his mother left/sacrificed herself for nothing probably didn’t help). In both instances, not having that strong father/grandfather & son bond impacted them greatly, making them resent their father figures while at the same time still caring about them deep down and wanting that love and acceptance from them.

(Also this is depressing to bring up but - we do see instances of Abe strangling Homer just like how Homer strangles Bart, and in the brief flashbacks we saw of Sho, there’s a moment where he smacks a teen Yoshi on the head with a scroll, kinda like how Splinter smacks the turtles on the head with his hand or tail. So... yeah... on a lighter note both characters have said “Why you little-!” at some point, which was what first made my brain connect them to each other)

I’m not saying that the Rise writers simply ripped off the Simpsons when coming up with this new incarnation of Splinter - BUT I will say that the reason why Rise!Splints works so well is funnily enough the same reason why classic Homer Simpson works so well.

Both characters may seem like your typical “animated dumbass dad” on the surface, but not only do they have WAY more heart than that blunt summary would have you believe, making it very clear that even when they screw up or act selfishly they still want to be a good father, but they also have much more depth than you would have expected. They have their own issues and even their own traumas that, while not excusing their bad behavior, does at the very least give you somewhat of an explanation for how these characters ended up growing into the people they are presently.

TL:DR: Splinter’s character - and character arc - have not only been proven to work in previous forms of media, but is also just a good/interesting/enjoyable type of character in general, and it sucks that so many people just dismissed Rise!Splinter immediately simply because he was more Homer Simpson and less standard sensei.

EDIT: Whoops, just realized another character similarity in that both characters ended up becoming fathers at a time when they absolutely were NOT in the right state to be fathers. Homer was young, immature and didn’t have a well-paying job yet, making an unplanned pregnancy all the more of an obstacle. Lou Jitsu was already at a mentally damaged point, likely seeing the decision to go with the Goyles as an easy way out, not knowing that Draxum was gonna use his DNA to make turtle-child soldiers.

BUT, despite being mentally and emotionally unprepared, both characters also still made the decision to step up and actually BE fathers, wanting to be there for their sons and already feeling that love for their family.

Some Words of Comfort.

Recently, I’ve seen a lot of people (especially those who have read spoilers/are actively searching for leaked content) lament about their future reactions to the deaths of our beloved characters in-game.

We all knew this was inevitable, and that them living was not an option for the plot of the game, but the time has finally come to face it head-on.

I understand that someone outside this community might be like “it’s just a game”, but I know it’s way more than that to many: the concept of a female villain that, to many, can be seen as sympathizable and even endearing, is a bit of a new concept— especially on such a large scale as this instance.

In addition, Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters have become a bit of a comfort item for some (with an emphasis on sapphics/wlw, from what I’ve seen personally) in the form of a large, protective, and caring hypothetical partner, or even just a maternal character one can appreciate simply because of her love for her children. Regardless, most of us are here due to some desire for comfort.

Take my own story with this community, for example:

Frankly, 2020 and the beginning of 2021 have ruined me. I lost two men who were the only two positive father figures I’ve ever had. The last of the two tested positive for covid and deteriorated within days, to the point where less than a week after testing positive, my family was making the choice to pull the plug. This all occurred days before Christmas and my birthday. On the first day of the spring semester, having not had the time to properly mourn my grandfather, my mother is in the ER for multiple days with an internal infection that doctors said likely would have turned septic if she had waited to come in any longer. This led to three surgeries throughout the next few months. (Oh, and one of my relatives quite literally dropped dead on that first day of class, too). I am also estranged from one of my parents, and they have been trying to contact my family: they have multiple untreated mental illnesses (severe NPD, bipolar, and more) and they are extremely aggressive in that state of mind and they are agitated extremely easily. That only brings more stress, along with resurfacing trauma and related emotions. Every moment of every day has been a struggle. So much so that I failed half of my classes voluntarily simply because I couldn't do them anymore.

To be perfectly honest with you, I didn’t expect to be here right now. I expected that the pain of simply moving forward would have finally overridden my fears of death and that I would have already ended my suffering by now.

Then, in late January, I saw something trending on Twitter. About a new female villain in an upcoming horror game. And it went from there.

As cheesy as it sounds, this fandom and its content seriously saved my life. In the darkest of days, I’ve come to this tag for comfort. The oddest way I found said comfort was through those who were attracted to Alcina aesthetically. I have extremely long-term trauma related to being bullied and being the victim of a hybrid catfishing/'Oreo Game' on early social media by peers in middle school to the point where I do not think of myself as being able to be loved, let alone being worthy of it. Finding this community not only provided a great form of escapism (and opened a door into a fantasy world where I could imagine my own person vampire milf gf), but also gained a little bit of self-esteem (as many of you know, I share a lot of visual qualities with Alcina. -yes, I'm still kinda freaked out about it-) via seeing people where features/attributes like mine were actively praised and desired rather than insulted and pushed away like they have been until now.

(okay sorry that kinda turned into a trauma dump but I needed to emphasize the fact that this community has seriously helped me during a really dark point in my life, and I know I can't be the only one with that sort of experience)

What I’m trying to get across here is that, like many others, this community and its content have been comforting and therapeutic, and it really is more than just a game to us. It’s entertaining and even a form of escapism in these extremely trying times. We all have some degree of PTSD from surviving a literal mass plague— and this is something we're using as a method of coping. a distraction. a coping mechanism.

With that being said, here are some ways to hopefully assist in lessening the emotional stress:

Understand that it’s just a game.

I know, this sounds completely counterintuitive, but it’s more or less about keeping your level of immersion down. Personally, I can’t do scary shit in general: I have to listen to music on low volume while watching dark ARG vids at night or when I’m alone because I get too into it, and then my paranoia kicks in. Sometimes just pausing for a moment and grounding yourself/reminding yourself that this is a video game: a jumble of code and 3D rendering that doesn’t have to affect your views/headcanons if you don’t want it to. Did your favorite character just get slaughtered? Nope, that 3D rendering of them just got un-alived, that’s all.

Ignorance is Bliss/We are the Captain Now

Simple: Capcom can’t even pronounce Dimitrescu right, or even acknowledge the way it’s correctly said in Romanian culture itself. How can you trust them to give you a perfect canon? That’s the thing: with that logic, you can’t. What they say is true means little (if anything, for that matter) to your headcanons and preexisting ideas of the Dimitrescus. In short: fuck ‘em.

I’m currently seeking a double major in pop culture, and one of the cool things I’ve learned so far is affirmational vs transformational fandom. Affirmational is where official canon is seen as the law of the land, and followed to a T. Transformational is seen as much more inviting for audiences, allowing them to bend canon as they wish to fit their own creations. This fandom is obviously transformational, so take that game canon, rip it up, and get back to whatever you were doing.

Capcom’s canon is not the end-all, be-all. Far from it, actually.

Want to still acknowledge canon? Godmod your way out of it.

Character A died? It’d be a shame if they emerged from the rubble they 'died in' a few hours later, very beaten but alive nonetheless... how awful would it be if they sulked away, nursed their wounds, and continued to live... (/s)

Make the fluff oneshot of your dreams! Draw the fanart you've been wanting to! dump lighthearted headcanons into the tags! Not only will it cheer you up, but sharing it with the community will spread the love!

DM questions, a new round.

"i am very curious for the vids on amara right now, because I feel like I did not understand a lot of the underlying text from her plotline."

My Amara heavy vids are Reflection (S14 orig)/Destiny's Reflection(S15 update), End of the Line, and Xanthosis. However they're more how she interplays to the storyline for the mains rather than a breakdown of the mythological significance at large. I'd say check my talk on Absence. Somewhere I do have a cosmogeny post from like S13, where I break down the Qabbalah on this but I can’t seem to find it at the moment and would be a bit extra. Almost overcomplicate things right now since it went into the tree of life and pillars, even if that’s quite predictively mapping out our path right now episode by episode.

I will say: not all mentions of “absence” on my blog are specifically in regards to Amara, but rather, to a collective mindset. The fandom -- frankly, humans in general -- tend to think in dualities. A subtle point in the subtext of this all is that dualities are often more a matter of being and unbeing. Darkness isn’t a thing, it is an absence of light. Death isn’t a thing, it is an absence of life. Evil isn’t a thing, it is an absence of good. It wasn’t by magic that I pre-quoted Cas in well...Absence once I saw the episode title while dealing with Jack being soulless. (x) This is something to learn moving forward-- or uh unlearn. Be absent of former dichotomous coding.  This is critical in other things like The Absence of Life which is going to be incredibly crucial to grasp coming up. (x)

Many authors talk about the Absence of Cas as a narrative tool, and while this is very valid, I find it’s almost too targeted. It’s a valid tool to start thinking about empty space: absence of Cas in AUs, the loss of Cas in the alternate future, and more--you’ll find me showing how Amara’s exit itself paralleled Cas and both handled Absence. But this is a very large scale idea that also impacts the sum of our cosmogeny really. You don’t think of it being “Cas” and “negaCas”, it’s just... absence. Something that isn’t there. Now expand that on these ideas.

I once etched this out on paint to try to streamline it when it comes to our Alpha and Omega (11.23), aka our Form and our Void (11.2).

They're pulled out into Absence, Absence is the lack of Being, Being is the created world. Beyond the created world there is the Empty. In the Empty there is only the Shadow.

And you're kinda close on the soul stuff. I'm at work so pardon if I'm going to be brief, I have a boss in my ear on a conference call but the long and short of it is... soul, mind/grace, body. But body is also the physical world. As above, so below.  Everything, and I do mean everything, ties into this. The soul is the foundation of all things, the mind reflects the soul and identities grown of it from the creative collective, body/earth is the perception of the world and vessel in which we grow.

This is also not so different from the world orbiting around the sun despite previous confusion, if sun = soul, but the moon reflects the sun’s life and is a key catalyst for making life achievable on earth in many ways. Wherein moon = mind. Hmmm what was it that led Cas right to the occultum before it passed in the same order as the last sphere this year?

There's actually two takes on this! Very good question! Ironically, most gnostic branches believe the ascent does return you to the formless shadow, and it's called a Nihilistic view. Basically you return to the source of the machine as the one. On the other hand, more hermetic structures are called Optimistic, in that the machine is self-created by us to learn and master ourselves through and achieve enlightenment by returning to a *reflection* of the core. In supernatural, this would be the Garden, where the unconscious shadow being built over in creation reaches down as the subconscious serpent and asks who you are-- man returning to the garden.

In fact, Jack’s role in this (including the Luciferian parts I’ll talk below) in being the one TO return to the garden corresponds with phanes and the orphic egg, the (remastered) being that CAUSES that big bounce. (x) Why yes, I AM going to just keep throwing season 14 posts at you because this structure is a few years building at this point.

The Shadow may be the source but a still raw and unformed one, it's the fish before it crawled out of the cosmic water if you will.

Whereas the question of Being or Unbeing, first sourced in ideas like Chuck and Amara, came as thought. Thought and Mind made the world in Being.

So Chuck Had A Dream, and built it, but off the back of a primordial Shadow soup that already existed before him.

So the Thing that wonders why, or even if it exists, does exist as a formative Prima Materia, first material, on which the mind itself was made, but in reaching into the created world also has a new form. There, the crossroads of man and divinity, the Garden, where Jack reclaimed his soul.

Chuck is the first Mind to create by Grace and the Word (Logos, notice the book between Dean and Castiel) and half of the first question. Abraxas: Abrahadabra: I speak, therefore I am.

Chuck would thus be (half of) the Shadow's mind in its first form, but lacks the actual essence that defines the Shadow, and the Soul. Some schools of gnostic thought believe that humans were originally created, their body forms, by the Demiurge (Chuck), but they had no souls. So the Shadow descended as a serpent, sometimes Lucifer sometimes not (I don't think SPN is doing that part--or more, as above, is using Jack, the orphic child, as Phanes), to teach them the difference between good and evil, but that forbidden fruit wasn't an apple or whatever, it was giving them a soul, because the soul is the one true good and foundation of it all.

There is no evil, there is only the absence of good.

But the acquisition of that made them more than Chuck's dream, but able to have their own.

Hope, art, dreams. Those are human things.

The soul breeds the mind, the mind perceives the body, the body shapes the experience OF the soul as perceived by the mind, and these things make our heavenly thrones, thought boxes if you will

Supernatural is actually asking the audience to ponder the meaning of life.

What about all of this is real? Is it our circumstances? 

No. The where isn't significant as much as what we do with it. 

What about all of our Lives is real? 

People, families. We are. 

This is real.

Why do we exist? What is the meaning of it all?

The meaning is what we make between each other.

Who are we when we are first born? Are we as an infant who we become? Would I be a completely different person if I lived a different chain of circumstances and knew completely different people? How many lives must I live to find my way?

Chuck wants them to believe that the Gold they have made in this world and their interpersonal relationships cannot stay. Perhaps in his world that may be true. But man and his soul and his mind is a mortal beyond the body of this world

If they break Heaven from the chains he put around it then he has no power over man. It's the same reason he sealed Amara away. He knew they were equals and he couldn't stand it.

Man has the same right to the throne that Chuck has. Only his propaganda machine and keeping people in the ecosystem of his boxes is what gives him Authority. But as Fortuna says, don't play his game. Make him play yours.

As Dean said when he threw Michael in the Box. 

My mind, my rules.

In that box, Dean was God. Everyone else was just All The Same. Michael couldn't snap his fingers and nuke them all, he didn't have Chuck's given right of being a wavelength of intent across the realm.

"In this place, I'm God!" cried the mayor in Peace of Mind.

Each and every heaven box is a potential world made by man, a timeless place shuffling their greatest memories and ideas, but left empty by the lack of other souls in it. The souls remain the one true thing and he who has the most souls is god.

Man is god, end of story, Chuck's just... an architect. 

And every human can be one.

Perhaps my greatest frustration in this fandom is trying to slam out post after post explaining how wall to wall this incredibly deep philosophy is, to try to point out its resounding and powerful message to an entire audience, only to be met by resistance over silly fan warring about wanting or not wanting a ship like. Honestly, I don’t care if someone doesn’t like ~Destiel~ like. Get over it. You can see it as a long series (15.09, 15.13, etc) of platonic bro marriages of the platonic bro mind for their cosmic taxes to get a discount on the loan for their galactic fucking refrigerator at this point, but you are fundamentally doing yourself an entire assed disservice on the very moral bone structure of this show to not be willing to absorb this, much less prepare for how this will usher out our ending.

I don’t care if you ship Dean with Anna or Lisa or some other ancient shit, I don’t CARE if you prefer some Cas ship from 1492, tuck all that away. Please, for the love of everything holy, try to understand these lessons that the writing crew are even using to try to help counsel everyone through the ending of a show that took up much of our lives and, beyond that, learn how to carry these lessons into the real world in a way that just might maybe make you a better person who is able to have a better experience in their life.

Her hometown is Watford, England

but she was originally born in Maidenhead in the backseat of a car during a severe rainstorm

Some of this stuff does make me hesitant to try and represent minorities that I am not personally a part of in my work. I hear about making stuff true to life because otherwise it's a mockery and acting like those people's cultures are something you can just slap together with no thought. But I don't want to appropriate their culture by including things that real people of that culture would have in a character and end up upsetting people of that culture as well. And then I wonder who to ask to know what's right and end up getting told to go to Google because it's not their job to educate me but i don't know what sources on google are actually trustworthy because plenty of racists pretend they know what's right and Google doesn't know the difference. And it just makes me want to not try at all rather than try and end up hurting someone, which is a mindset I'm already used to with failure 'if you never try, you never fail' 🙃 do I just, idk try my best and wait to see how many angry people I get in my inbox and fix it after? That's why you literally put the research in. That's why you read books by those "minorities" who write about themselves. That's why you get beta and sensitivity readers from the groups you're representing and pay them for their help. That's why you look up stereotypes and other things to avoid when writing these groups. That's why you look up film critique vids, or journals, or scholarly papers, or articles criticizing racism etc in media by the groups you're representing, so you know how not to do the same thing, because I PROMISE they're out there. Most of the books I've read with interesting settings had some level of research put in, and the author has said as much, such as living in that place for a year, or consulting with archeologists, or again, having multiple beta readers along with other research. You have to put the work in yourself. You can't just go to people's inboxes or ppl you know irl and just say "educate me" or "fix this for me" for your writing at random without doing any of the above yourself at some point. And of COURSE there's probably going to be at least 1 thing that's kinda offensive or inaccurate about your writing, we were raised in a racist world (caused by colonialism, white supremacy, wars, xenophobia, etc) and we ALL have misconceptions about each other. So when that happens, you have to do your best and take it with grace and say "yes, thank you for helping. I'll do my best to research more and fix it", not get frustrated, ESP not with the people who are helping you. Cause otherwise it kinda makes it sound like you're more concerned with not looking racist or being percieved as racist rather than not being racist.

Still on my Crypt TV kick, and I have to gush for a moment, because Crypt Fables was actually my ultimate favorite series despite being disconnected from the Monster Universe, so I have to just spell out for a minute why it’s so great and needs more attention alongside the Look-See and company

-Mermaid is the ur-example of a tragic monster

-I will hike through those woods myself to carry Mermaid back to safety and the ocean. I am not strong enough to lift her but I am determined

-The ending of The Little Mermaid actually REALLY calls back to the original fairy tale, and it took me a few minutes to even put it together, but it puts Mermaid in the position of choosing between a doomed romance and damnation to her existence, which is how the original ended

-Mermaid’s design. (Though there is no work of fiction that cannot be made better with fish people in my opinion)

-The Pied Piper of Hamelin was already a horror story in and of itself and I’m glad someone just took advantage of that

-Kinderfänger’s design, which has the exact opposite energy from Mermaid’s

-And there’s no way they could one-up Mermaid or Kinderfänger but the design of “evil anthro cat demon” is the exact aesthetic they needed to complete the triad

-I thought Knave was the weakest of the series, as 1. they’d already knocked the Alice imagery out of the park with Cheshire and 2. I wasn’t altogether comfortable with how they played the whole “gay best friend” thing, but I did see comments in that vid from people who thought he was cool and empowering, and I’m sitting here like “I like the mentally ill one because he kinda reminds me of my time spent in a mental ward and I can imagine how that would make some people snap into full villainy!”, so really, it’s all subjective and some people really did like the Knave so I’m not gonna cry Problematic - this exact series also gave us a heroine in the form of a deaf girl who said “fuck you” to a sound-based monster

-Just in general the idea of twisted fairy tales is something that horror has been doing for decades and not always been the greatest at, but the Crypt TV series really felt like fresh new takes on all of these ideas and utilizing the symbolism from each tale to create a whole new bite-sized horror story, and it’s really cool looking over each narrative and picking out the little details from each source story (like when you realize the Pied Piper rhyme ended with one child unable to follow the Piper because they were disabled and then you see Jordan, or the idea that Rapunzel being under house arrest is her version of being locked in a tower away from the world)

What is truth? That question is keeping philosophers going since the old Greeks. Can we ever know what another person truely thinks and feels? What do we really know about people we interact with personally? We live in our cave and stare at shadows. So how can we assume anything about people we really don’t know at all?

Well, there are a few approaches. One is that you admit that you know nothing, that everything you believe (not know) is made up in your head anyway, so you can built YOUR OWN FANTASY. And it’s nothing wrong with that, as long as you stay aware that IT IS A FANTASY. You can’t prove or disprove a fantasy because it’s all in your head anyway, it’s highly subjective and made up.

And we are not curing cancer here, this is fun, so believe what you want if it helps you getting on with your life.

And isn’t it nice if you write or draw about THIS FANTASY and post it in fan spaces and find likeminded people with similar FANTASIES and you share them and a fandom grows and everyone has fun and is happy?

So, if, in this regard and context, for you, A&T are the greatest love story that ever happened, or LRD&T are the greates love story that ever happened, or Tim is secretly a shapeshifter, or a vampire, or is boning Glen Close - FINE! Knock yourself out. Believe what you want. Only, don’t insult or ridicule those who SHIP/dream/believe something else. Because no ship (aka FANTASY) is better than the other and there’s no truth to be found in a FANTASY. You either believe it or not and believe something else. It’s totally subjective and - as a FANTASY- there’s nothing wrong with that.

Trying to prove a fantasy is what leads to insanity. Believe me, it’s not that I wasn’t tempted at one point. Only, you know, I’m a scientist. And in science, when we start an experiment, we have a question or an assumption that we want to prove, not already an answer.

Because I don’t have to prove something that I know is true. You still with me? When I start to look for clues that A&T are together, lead by my knowledge (not assumption or question if) that they are together, of course I will only prove what I started with in the first place and ignore/disregard everything that speaks against my knowledge because I’ve known the truth from the beginning and will produce a narrative accordingly. This is called confirmation bias.

In that context, even the absence of proof is proof for something - and at this point, you can’t  argue with people who work like this because they have made their mind up long before they entered the argument. They had the answer before the question. For them, there isn’t an argument at all, because they KNOW. End of story.

True, sometimes the dog NOT barking is evidence. But for that to work there has to be a dog in the first place. If you don’t know that there is a dog, it not barking proves nothing.

So, again, can’t we know anything about anything? Well, there’s a thing called probability. Not all arguments are equally valid, some are more reasonable than others because we have experience, context, and from that we draw conclusions re the probability of things.

But lets first look at the evidence presented in favour of certain theories. I’ve been on this train for over 2 years. I saw a lot of the things going round in fandom and taken as proof for or against something now as it happened - and I have to say, many things got taken out of context and were blown up to much more proportian and meaning than at the time things happened. Pics have been cut in certain ways so people have been removed to make them look more intimate. Things no one has ever seen or knows anything about are suddenly taken as facts (a marriage contract, for example) just because they’ve been repeated so often by fans that they’ve been talked into existing.

These proofs are often photographic ‘evidence’. But pictures lie. And can be manipulated. What we see in them depends on lighting, angels etc. If you take a pic or vid out of context it can look as if it shows something totally different than it originally did. So never base anything solely on a single picture you didn’t even take yourself. Always ask for the context it has been taken in. Is it a fan snapshot? Is it a directed photoshoot? Has it been made during an official promo event? These things matter to determine the validity of the things show in these pictures.

For example, look at this:

Isn’t that a lovely pic of A&T? Doesn’t T look totally shagged out, bathing in the afterglow while Armie tells the world: ‘Look, he is mine!’ This is the photo as I saw it on tumblr.

As you can see, Tim is probably laughing at something Petra Collins says to him. This changes the whole context. And these things happened quite often in  the early days because we were shippers, we knew that we were wearing our shipper goggles, we spun a FANTASY, quite aware that what we were doing was playing freely with the facts. It wasn’t about proving something, it was about illustrating a fantasy. Taking these things now as proof for anything is absurd.

Same goes for interviews. These can be cut and edited in certain ways. Watch a whole press conference, not just the part your shipper heart loves if you want to get the whole picture (or live in the one sentence that makes your shipper heart flutter if this is just about your FANTASY).

As said in the beginning: no one on here knows these people and their circumstances. We didn’t even go to school with them, worked with them, or are their neighbours or in any direct contact with them whatsoever. So we base our judgement solely on currated content provided by them or people close to them, and public appearances that happen in a certain context like a movie premiere, and on very random public sightings by people we also don’t know and whose statements we can’t verify.

We can’t really built anything about their private lives upon these things, can we? It’s all highly speculative.

Okay, after having discussed the reliability of our evidence, lets move on to how to sort it. There is this thing called probability. In theory, everything is equally likely over an infinite period of time. But in reality, humans are able to learn from experience. And experience teaches us that some things are more likely than others.

Then there are facts. Facts are things we know to be true because they haven’t been falsified yet. For example, Armie is married. I know, there are many rumors going around about the state of his marriage, but as long as he’s not publicly divorced he got publicly married to EC and that’s the only thing we can work with. Otherwise, our already pretty sketchy footing slips away completely if we only work with hearsay, specualtion and gossip, and we end up with a fantasy again.

So, in our case: do we really think that friends, family, spouses, girlfriends, colleagues, ex-colleagues, ‘the press’ and random people on the internet are all conspiring since June 2016 together to hide that two actors - who to large parts of the world are totally unknown - are in a relationship, when, on the other hand, we have photographic evidence from multiple independent sources - and in Armie’s case even a marriage certificate and 2 children - showing that they are both with someone else?

Okay, but we’ve discussed the unreliability of photos. True. But it’s not just one cropped pic showing T with LRD. There are many, taken over a long period, by different people, professionally and privately. That makes them being a fact much more probable because why should all these people, who took those pics and reported sightings and don’t know each other and do gain nothing from their lies, lie? Isn’t it much more probable that what these pics show us is the truth?

On the other hand, what solid evidence do we have that A&T are a couple? We don’t even have one photo showing them kissing outside of a movie they made together 3 years ago. Compare this to pap and private pics of T&LRD kissing, that have been taken over a period of a year by different people. What does probability tell us here? That something we’ve never seen is more likely to be happening than something we’ve seen on different occasions, documented by different people independently for 12 months?

Isn’t it more likely that a man who’s never been seen out in public romantically involved with another man, who is married for years and has 2 children - is straight?

Isn’t it more likely that another man, who’s never been seen out in public romantically involved with another man either, who’s only other relationship the public knows of was with a girl, who - if he talks about his private life at all - talks about kissing a girl or wanting to impress a girl, who’s been photographed at different occasions by different people kissing a girl - is straight?

Leave aside what you want them to be and look at the facts, as sketchy as they are.

If you look seriously at what little facts we have - there is nothing reliable connecting A&T romantically that can’t be explained by them being friends and having filmed a movie together over 3 years ago. Everything else is subjective, projection, hearsay, wishful thinking, a fantasy, shipping, gossip, rumors.

Documented facts show us that their reality is incongruent with our ship. And if we start to disregard those facts it leads to sending hate to these very people because fans who took a ship for something real feel betrayed. So, please, sort facts from fantasy, take a look at the facts (not at projection, hearsay, wishful thinking, a fantasy, shipping, gossip, rumors) and draw your own conclusion.

What do you think is more probable when you look at proven facts? Probable, not true. There’s the possibility that I might get proven wrong someday. But, to me, all real evidence points towards T&LRD and AH&EC.

Vid Notes: Page Turn

This was a really fun vid to make, even though it was made in two giant chunks months apart. In a case of total misplanning, I started making this vid what I thought was two episodes before the series ended but I was suuuper wrong and there were actually 15 episodes to air so I halted working on my vid until after the show finished and I could thus know where I wanted to go with my edit! And then after waiting so long I dragged my feet on getting the rest of the footage to boot. But that’s okay! It’s done now and hey, I kinda love it!

I tried my best to make the edit compelling enough that anyone (fan or not) could get the gist of the story and enjoy 3 1/2 minutes of delightful existential shojo-esque tomfoolery. 

Since the song is quick the edit is, that just tends to happen yeah, but what I REALLY wanted was to play with condensing the narrative! In actuality Extra-ordinary You is a very patient and drawn out show - not unlike how romance comics themselves unfold (which is a bit of the “the point” of all the genre playfulness the series exudes). My goal was to find a song that would fit the show, certainly, but one that would also allow me to heighten and speed up the series simply because I really liked the idea of expressing how things felt for the characters rather than how the series actually relays those emotions. 

*shrug* I just thought it’d be fun. And it was.    

One of the most interesting components, to me anyway, of Extra-ordinary You is how the characters are forced to act out their comic book roles; they are literally trapped in their own bodies as they say and do things beyond their control. For characters who are self-aware of the reality of their comic book world, this contrast between being on the “stage” (no free-will) and then being between the panels in the “shadows” (allowed to do what they’d like) is in production made definable through a slight change in colorization, shallow focus close-ups, and the characters “page-turning” in and out of place. I went back and forth over if I wanted to make this change more noticeable in my edit but ultimately decided it was delightfully more chaotic to leave it be! If people catch it, they catch it (and I think most will) but I’ve also decided to believe it doesn’t matter as everyone will end up coming to some kind of understanding all on their own...

Which brings us the mandatory ~theoritical~ portion of today’s notes:

Something I as a vidder constantly consider are the members of my potential (incredibly theoretical!) audience who haven’t seen the source material of whatever I’m working on. I spoke on this briefly in the notes for my Tiger & Bunny vid; I tend to approach editing my vids as not really being about the source material so much as it is what I want others to think about the source material, so when I edit a lot of my time and energy is honestly spent favoring an audience completely out of the loop. I oftentimes want a version, my version specifically, of total comprehension from non-fans as much as I do from fans. I am constantly guided by the thought “If I didn’t already know what I was looking at, would this make sense?” - but only within the sense and logic I am instilling into the project. 

I cannot say if that’s an odd position to take up with this particular hobby or not because I don’t really know. This entire hobby is built upon sharing with others a vision of some media but at the same time, the tone creators use is dependent on who they are crafting their works “for” and absolutely none of us (consciously or subconsciously) are editing for a media. We literally wouldn’t be changing a single frame if the goal was to express something entirely as it’s already presented.

With this vid for a (comparatively) fandomless show what I’ve tried to do is have two running comprehensions happening at the same time. Which, haha, is really not that impressive as that’s pretty much what’s happening with anything you ever watch or read or play ever. There is always only a media (1) and your understanding of it (2) as you experience it (at the same time).  

While I have attempted to make it so that the feelings presented in my edit are generally understood, it’s an edit that also ultimately holds different meaning based on if someone has seen the show OR of they have only seen this vid - which acts as a kind of microcosm for what happens in this very show as the characters are forced to live out a narrative alongside their real wants and desires! A fan watching my vid carries with them a true understanding of these events and characters (and are, hopefully, keenly aware of the many important things I have intentionally completely ignored) while anyone else watching is seeing only a fraction of depth, just as in the series Extra-ordinary You a reader of the comic the characters inhabit wouldn’t understand what’s happening off-panel, ya know? You still with me?!

Basically, I could make the argument that this is an edit almost defined more by what I’ve left out then what I’ve shoved in. If you’re a fan it’s still going to make sense but overwhelmingly aided by all the context I’ve not given. If you’re not a fan it’ll still make sense, just primarily of your own habit (as lead by me).  

I have absolutely no way of confirming if I’ve accomplished any of this mind you, but I had a lot of fun messing around with such a silly idea and may even revisit it at some point for another project, who knows! Something about focusing on such an abstract (invisible) theme appealed to me and in an even overtly, let’s say, cruel way as the series is all about people who lack control within self-awareness and then here I come to cut them up and rearrange them again! HA HA HA! I’m a jerk.        

And so, another vid done and thus another notes novel written! Overall I’m happy if anyone feels anything about this goofy project. I don’t imagine it will reach many people but I genuinely hope it brings a smile to at least one other fan out there!

Pat just blew my fucking mind in his recent Dark Souls III run by comparing Dark Souls’ First Flame with the biblical apple of Eden.

In hindsight, this comparison should be obvious. Dark Souls II’s special rerelease was called Scholar of the First Sin--the first Sin in this world being the creation of the Flame.

"The Fire is a pretty clear analogue to Adam and Eve’s apple--the knowledge of good and evil--because prior to the Fire, the duality or differences between states isn’t a concept that really exists. So life and death don’t exist before the Flame. Light and dark don’t exist before the Flame, et cetera. So the instant that you get the Flame, everything splits into two and variances of gray and all that shit. So yeah, by default, everything used to be all calm and shit, and now it’s all fucked.

“The interesting thing to me about the way Dark Souls handles it is that the nature of the Flame being what causes it, is because flames run out! It wears down! and it’ll inevitably turn back to gray, and everybody thinks that sucks so bad that they do my favorite thing in Dark Souls, which is every game is about heroes, kings, gods and all that trying really astonishingly bad solutions, solutions that in many cases are worse than the problem.

“The Flame of Chaos is straight up a worse problem than the actual death of the Flame. It’s so bad. and like, these idiots [the twin princes of Lothric] kinda just give up. And that’s fine.

“Gwyn’s solution to the First Flame problem and the Dark Soul was kind of ingenious, but also horrific and immoral. Not the fact that he lit himself on fire, but the fact that he created the curse and inscribed it on the Darksign.”

What he’s referring to there is the fact that Gwyn, the Lord/god of Sunlight, created the undead curse--a curse that could only infect humans--so that countless undead would go on a journey to relink the First Flame, essentially keeping that Flame lit through sacrifices who were tricked into believing that the curse could be broken at all.

Dark Souls III, perhaps better than any of the other games, shows all the different ways cursed, “chosen” undead respond to Gwyn’s legacy in both the endings you can achieve, and the major bosses you go up against: the Lords of Cinder, Sister Friede, Slave Knight Gael. And it shows that the only solution to this problem is to create a world where the curse is an intrinsic part of that world’s design--thus why you need the Blood of the Dark Soul [of humans] at the very last DLC.

The undead curse was inflicted on a world that did not naturally have states of duality. The solution, then, is to create a world that always has duality. That is to say, a world that already knows the taste of the fruit, the knowledge of life and death, light and dark--good and evil. Happiness and pain.

I also love how the answer to what the Dark Soul is has been staring us in the face for the entire trilogy: it’s us, humans. The title of the trilogy is, very simply, a dramatic dark fantasy tale about what it means to be human and alive.

And that’s why it’s fucking amazing.

Day 6: Supernatural

I think I misunderstood the question because by the time I realized I was wrong I was already done and went full stream-of-consciousness style back to Day 5 for this one, but technically they do occur in the correct order. By misunderstood the question I kinda did Day 23 here by accident. This is pre S5, other than that it’s really open-ended.

When Pidge and Hunk found out their apartment was haunted

They expected a movie’s worth of problems

Instead, the two ghosts, two young men in their early twenties were rather content to let them live here

Apparently, they only kicked people out who were assholes

Some people got freaked out because they were… well ghosts

But other than that Lance and Keith were totally chill roommates to have

Hunk and Pidge would occasionally forget that they were actually ghosts

That is until someone broke into the apartment and tried to rob them

The door was busted out into the hallway, blown completely off the hinges

The worst of the damage was in the kitchen

But it was simple things mugs, silverware, and Hunk’s really common kitchenware

The thing was, Lance and Keith got really quiet about it

They clearly didn’t want to talk about it

Pidge didn’t want to go behind their backs, but they had to download some of the videos off of the cameras they had installed before properly meeting Lance and Keith

What they saw was something else

The guy wasn’t there to rob them like the police said

He was there to ambush her

Even though she couldn’t hear what he said, because Keith was screeching and actually turning tangible enough to take the guy down, she could guess what he said

Turns out it was Lance that started throwing mugs and forks at him.

Though “throwing” wasn’t quite right considering Lance apparently had telekinetic abilities

Keith eventually got him back into the kitchen and the two of them pushed him through the door with a combined power

Pidge resolved to talk to them about it

But a notification popped up of one of their channel’s followers asking if more vids were going to be dropped

Since they had nothing else ready to go they uploaded the fight in the apartment

Apartment Ghosts Catch Intruder and Save Tenant went viral within the day

Pidge and Hunk should’ve been less surprised when not one, not two, but three journalists showed up at their door.

Sam, Dean, and Jo. apparently.

Something about the questions they were asking made Pidge feel uneasy

Though when they and Hunk saw both previous tenants shrug they decided to be honest with the journalists

They’d probably finish and think they were crazy behind their backs anyway.

“Why do you keep looking in that corner?” Dean finally asked

Keith, who didn’t do people, according to Lance, made the lights turn off for a moment then turn back on.

“Hey.” Lance greets still in the corner while Keith was now standing by the light switch

“I thought you said there were two of you living here?” Jo accuses, seeming to look around for the source of Lance’s voice

“There are.” Hunk replied rather simply. “We weren’t lying when we said this place was haunted.”

“You wouldn’t know their names by any chance, would you?” Sam asks

“Sure, it’s Lance and Keith.”

“Full names, Midget.” Dean snaps

“Don’t call me that!” Pidge snapped back

“Lance and Keith what?” Sam asks more calmly.

“Why don’t you just ask us?” Keith huffs.

All three of them turned at the sound of his voice.

This time they can see him, and they watch with stunned expressions as he plays with the light switch.

The only thing off-putting is that Keith is partially see through.

“Which one are you, ugly?”

“Who you callin’ ugly?”

“I’m sure he meant me.”

“That doesn’t make it better, Mullet.”

“You two are the ghosts that have been haunting this place?” Jo asks

“Sure.” they’re both rather casual about it.

“Are you sure?” Dean questions

Keith huffs, jumping the seven feet that separate him and the couch to sit down on it.

“You make a better door than a window.” he informs Dean.

“Shut it Casper.”

“It’s Keith.” he corrects.

“Dean, calm down, none of this matches the lore.” Sam tell him

Pidge perks up. “Yeah, you see I was checking that too and they don’t really match the stories of any sort of haunting we’ve seen recorded.”

“From what Pidge and I can see Lance and Keith are something different.”

“Different how?” Jo asks

Lance huffs. “My Dad was a Hunter, you know, I know you are too.”

Pidge, Hunk, and Keith are all thoroughly confused and can only watch as the conversation leaves them behind

They understand it all, but the context of things go over their head

Salt and Burn?

Exorcism

Poltergeist?

Iron tools, EMF readers, and Rock Salt pellets?

Yet, they all watch as Lance not only keeps up with the conversation but keeps the three guests on their toes

“What happened to you when you died?” Dean asks as the conversation wanes

Completely ignoring how Keith looks like it’s the last thing that he wants to talk about

“It was a house fire, in the middle of the night.” Keith says rather darkly, this time the lights flicker, the one on the side table pops

“That’s a little wrong,” Lance admits looking at the three. “They said it was a house fire, but that usually gives you some time to escape. The gas stove leaked in the middle of the night, meaning we missed the warning signs.”

“So what, there was no fire?” Jo asks, crossing her arms

“No, there was, it’s just that the gas lit when Keith knocked his lighter on the floor.” Lance admits lowly

“Lighter?” Hunk and Pidge ask even they didn’t know that.

“I smoked.” Keith says simply, but not meeting Lance’s eyes. “I had woken up and realized that I felt… wrong so I reached to grab the phone we kept next to the bed.”

Lance looks down too. “I wasn’t awake enough to process anything beyond the fact that I had a headache and was having a bit of trouble breathing. So I tried to keep Keith from getting out of bed.”

They all knew what happened next, they could almost see it

Keith’s hand missed the phone and knocked his lighter off the bedside table.

They couldn’t even process anything before the spark lit the gas and a fire started.

“Flash Burn.” Sam mumbled, before turning to the other two still living people. “Thank you for your time, we’ll be going now.”

Lance and Keith watched them in the hallway how Dean and Jo got angry and said they should destroy them, and most surprisingly how Sam defended them.

How if they hadn’t gone crazy and lost their humanity yet, they likely never would.

Lance and Keith already knew that to be true, they had expelled some less than friendly haunters from the building before.

In the end the Ghostly Roommates were allowed to stay.
