Baby Newt Trying Ice Cream—An Imagine

Imagine eight-year-old Theseus feeds Baby Newt ice cream for the first time. Newt’s mouth curls into a big smile after taking the first bite, he looks at Theseus, and he yelps in delight.

“It’s delicious, right?” Theseus smiles back at him.

Newt waves his arms up and down happily.

“You want more?” Theseus laughs. “Okay, I’ll give you more.”

Theseus takes out another small spoon of ice cream and brings it to Newt. Newt focuses on it and opens his mouth. Theseus feeds him the bite. Newt eats it and smiles at his big brother.

“Mmmm,” Newt responds.

Theseus chuckles and kisses Newt on the cheek.

Hey, y'all remember that one 30,000 word Pacific Rim fic I started in 2018?? No? Why, because I abandoned it for 3 years???

WELL I JUST UPLOADED 10 NEW CHAPTERS

If you're seeing this for the first time, this is a Newmann fic that I started around when Uprising came out for absolutely no reason at all randomly in the summer of 2018. It's a (so far) non-explicit slow-burn with Kaiju mutation, Ghost drifting, and mutual pining. The summary is as follows:

Hermann flies Stateside to visit an old friend, but what he finds there leaves him shaken. And now, with the Precursors re-launching their attacks on our world in new, horrifying ways, everyone is growing desperate. Newt seems to be the only one who can get them answers, but is he compromised by the enemy? He certainly looks it. Can mankind and monsters come together to defeat this threat a second time? Or will fear divide the Shatterdome?

There's not a whole lot of triggering material in this story, as far as I've been informed, but I'll put some gentle warnings for mental manipulation, as well as some violence and body horror.

Okay but like why can't I find any half-crank Newt fanworks??? Like y'all are glossing over the pure glory that would be a newt that's fully in control but still has some crank parts going on. Like give me Newt that started to turn but managed to get some trial cure that only stopped the flare and gave him cognition but didn't fully reverse the effects.

Give me a Newt that's even more fucking feral and completely willing to tear people apart with his bare hands if they even look at his loved ones wrong!

Also the only ones not even a little bit scared of crank Newt are Thomas and Minho for completely different reasons. Thomas just thinks Newt is a complete non-threat (despite being nearly killed by him) because Newt is precious to him (and he's half blinded by love and a sense of oh thank god he's not dead). Minho is completely aware that Newt is dangerous but it's hard to find him threatening when he's so obviously a pathetic gay simp. Everyone else sees Newt and just collectively panics.

I just think it'd be funny if Newt was Tommy's scary dog privileges.
