I love how Star Trek Beyond uses amber from Fringe with zero explanation, just assuming because they're both Bad Robot productions everyone would just know how it worked

Batman: Caped Crusader (prod. Bruce Timm).
Much of the Bat-themed crime fighter's grounded stories told here evoke all-new ideas to the well-worn DC Comics mythology behind the dark superhero. Caped Crusader does a fine job of reintroducing audiences to Batman's classic lore as a worthy successor to the original '90s B:TAS.

The Cloverfield Paradox
When Cloverfield jumped onto the scene in 2008, it was a smash hit for many reasons. Of course, the studio and Bad Robot wanted to explore further the universe they had created. In 2016 came 10 Cloverfield Lane and in 2018 The Cloverfield Paradox. Chronologically, Paradox comes first in the series.
The Cloverfield Paradox explores science fiction themes, potential global disaster as well as horror aspects all in one movie. It is a bit messy at times when trying to bring the plot together. This movie was originally not intended to be a part of the Cloverfield universe and was a spec script called the God Particle. They shoehorn the Cloverfield aspects into the plot, but ultimately, it does work. The mess that is created here has zero to do with the elements of Cloverfield and more to do the exploration of alternate dimensions and timelines. It is needlessly far fetched but does not really dive too deep into it either.
Tumblr media
Some films benefit from more explanation and world building. Cloverfield does not really need that to be fair. A direct sequel to the original film would have been much better. There were ideas that later became A Quiet Place. Abrams is still adamant that a sequel to the 2008 film is coming at some point. Cloverfield has lost the relevancy it once had. 10 Cloverfield Lane, while a great film, was another example of how you can just make a film apart of the universe just for the sake of it. Same with Paradox. It suffers from a lack of originality, and had they kept this its own thing, it could have been something special.

A combination of nanorobots, an ancient extinct alien that was the gems' natural predator, and 12 lifeless Black Quartz gemstones serving as cores could only result in an adaptive destruction machine! More of A.G.D. 12 here: DarkPrinceHamlet - Hobbyist, Digital Artist | DeviantArt

My quick thoughts on the upcoming Silent Hill games (since this series was pretty much my childhood, I can’t even describe how happy I was to see these updates, even with all the controversies surrounding Konami):
1) Silent Hill f: Looks good, but a little iffy on the premise. I think the set-up is good, but it’s not “Silent Hill”, it looks more like Fatal Frame. I mean, the game LITERALLY doesn’t take place in the titular town. Even the fourth game, which was in a different city, let you visit Silent Hill. So, we’ll see how this goes.
2) Silent Hill Ascension: My opinion on JJ Abrams aside, this one doesn’t look like Silent Hill at all. It’s like they took a Dark Souls monster and put them in a random indie horror game that’s centered on social media (ex: Welcome to the Game). I don’t want to immediately say this is gonna be terrible, but I’m not sold on this one yet.
3) Silent Hill Townfall: Not gonna lie, this was easily the best of the three. This one immediately gave me the Silent Hill vibes I’ve missed. Also, this game is being developed by Annapurna, a studio that I adore since they’re focused on narrative-based games (ex: What Remains of Edith Finch, Twelve Minutes, Stray). So, best set-up and the most trustworthy of the developers due to their track record.

With Westworld cancelled, denying us a proper conclusion, I need Bad Robot to start a comics imprint even more. It’s a great fit. Add in Alias, Lost, Cloverfield etc, it could have an *amazing* lineup of stories. Maybe a dream job.
(I originally designed this “Bad Robot Comics” corner box last year, included a handful of Easter eggs in the details, I still love it)

New Audio: Delaware's Bad Robot Shares Enormous Banger "Supermassive"
New Audio: Delaware's Bad Robot Shares Enormous Banger "Supermassive" @heygroover @romainpalmieri @DorianPerron
Micheal Ricker is a Delaware-based electronic music producer and artist best known as Bad Robot. His latest single is “Supermassive” is fittingly built around skittering, tweeter and woofer rattling thump, scorching bass synths, and a woozy and wobbling synth melody. It’s a festival and club banger that sounds as though it should knock a building over.

New "Star Trek" Film in the Works
Tumblr media
Paramount is working on a new Star Trek feature film. Toby Haynes is set to direct and Seth Grahame-Smith is writing the script. Bad Robot is producing. According to Deadline, the new film will take place decades before the 2009 Star Trek reboot.
The newly announced Star Trek film does not take the place of the previously announced Star Trek 4, which is also reportedly still in development.
Deadline broke the news.
