What does salafi mean? Is it okay to call oneself a salafi or wahabi?

Salafi means following the manhaj (methodology) of the 3 pious generation that came after the death of Prophet Muhummad ‎ﷺ. Who better to learn deen than directly from the salaf who understood best eh . Now just because someone claim themselves as salafi doesn’t always necessitate they follow the salaf rather most often not they’d be following the current Saudi ‘scholars’ rather than the actual salaf , not all but few . Real followers of the salaf won’t call themselves salafi as they’d be humble to not categorize them as such as it’s a big honour. And Wahhabi is a term used by deviant sects when someone simply follows Quran and Sunnah with the best understanding of the Salaf so whenever someone is referring to an individual or group as Salafi or Wahhabi they just mean the same thing with different names . The word wahhabi term was coined by the deviants from the great shaykh Muhummad ibn Abdul-Wahhab who cleansed the Arabian peninsula from the biddah and shirk that was occurring during his times , he revived tawheed in the lands of fitnah. When someone refers you as these terms you should feel proud because in reality what they mean is that you’re following the Quran and Sunnah properly. Getting labeled as either of those is an honour tbh.

We are living in an era where people fear each other more than they fear Allah , they deny Qur’an, THEY DENY THE AYAT OF QUR’AN, they deny Sahih Hadees for their interests, Zina is promoted, Biddah is the new norm, Shirk is considered convenient, traditions has more value than Islam, people neither wish nor they have any knowledge about Khilafat!

May Allah protect the pious muslims from all these fitns and make their lives easier in this world and the other!

The Great Love and respect of Allama Ibn Taymiyyah to Huzoor Ghaus-ul-Azam Sayyiddina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق)

Huzoor Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri Hanafi Maturidi (ق) said:

Allama Ibn Taymiyah was a Mureed of Imam Ibn Qudama (ق), and Imam Ibn Qudama (ق) was a follower, mureed, and student of Huzoor Ghaus-ul-Azam Sayyiddina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق)

Allama Ibn Taymiyyah was one of the great lovers of Huzoor Ghaus-ul-Azam Sayyiddina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق)

Allama Ibn Taymiyyah's Kitab al-Istiqama consists of 2 volumes. Among the saints and Sufis in this book, the person whose name Allama Ibn Taymiyyah took with the most love, respect, and devotion is Huzoor Ghaus-ul-Azam Sayyiddina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق).

Some people think that the titles of Ghaus, Qutb, and Abdal are our Biddah [inventions] and the great scholars and Muhadditheen did not believe in it. Listen Carefuly! Allama Ibn Taymiyah, while mentioning Ghaus-ul-Azam Shykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق) writes with his name as follows:

قطب العارفين ابا محمد بن عبد القادر بن عبد اﷲ الجيلی

"Qutb al-Arifeen (Qutb of the Saints of All Arifs) Aba Muhammad bin Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani. That is, they mention the name of Sayyiddina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق) in this way with the title, while others do not mention the name of any Sufi and saint with his title. Whomever He will mention, He will only write the name of that Sufi or Wali.

For example:

نقل الشيح شهاب الدين ابو حفص عمر بن محمد السهروردي... نقل ابو القاسم القشيري... نقل ابو عبد الرحمن السلمي... نقل بشر الحافي... قال الحارث المحاسبي... قال الجنيد البغدادي...

Narrated by Abu al-Qasim al-Qushayri...

Narrated by Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Salami...

Narrated by Bishr al-Hafi...

But when it comes to Sayyiddina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق), he will write "الشیح Al-Shaykh" or "قطب العارفین Qutb-ul-Arifin" that is, he will write the name with the title.

On page 78 of Ibn Taymiyyah's al-Istiqama, he writes an incident:

Shaykh Shihabuddin Umar Suhrawardy (ق), stated that after reading science books at an early age, I wanted to study science, philosophy, logic, etc. In this regard, I was hesitant about which book to start with. Should I read the book "Al-Arshad" by Imam al-Haramain al-Juwaini or should I read the book "Nahayat al-Aqadam" by Imam Shahristani? Or should I read the book of my Shaykh Abu Najib Suhrawardi (one of the Kamil Aqtabs and Wali of his time, he was also his uncle and also a Shaykh)?

Seeing this hesitant situation of mine, my Shaykh Imam Najibuddin Suhrawardi (ق) took me to the presence of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق).

My Shaykh Hazrat Abu Najib Suhrawardi (ق) used to go to the divine court of Huzoor Ghaus-ul-Azam Sayyiddina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق) and offer prayers following his example.

It was thought that after finishing the prayer, when the assembly will be held, we will meet at Huzoor Ghaus-ul-Azam Sayyiddina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق) and seek guidance, and then I will start writing what you say in the book.

We had just arrived, the prayer had not even taken place and the assembly had not taken place, only thoughts were in our hearts. He says that Huzoor Ghaus-ul-Azam Sayyiddina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق) turned towards me as soon as he saw me and said to me:

يا عمر ما هو من زاد القبر ما هو من زاد القبر

The books you intend to read will not be useful even in the grave. In other words, the books of knowledge, logic, philosophy, and theology that you intend to read and that you have come to ask for, will not be useful in the grave.

Shaykh Suhrawardy says:

فرجعت عن ذالک.

I understood that Huzoor Ghaus-ul-Azam Sayyiddina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ق) had discovered and corrected my heart after knowing it. Then I repented by acquiring this knowledge.

After narrating this incident, Allama Ibn Taymiyyah writes:

ان الشيخ کاشفه بما کان فی قلبه

"What was in his heart, Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani discovered it with Kashf [Spiritual eye]."

In one place, Allama Ibn Taymiyyah writes that

کان شيخ عبد القادر الجيلی أعظم مشائخهم، مشائخ زمانهم أمرا بالالتزام بالشرع والأمر والنهی وتقديمه علی الذوق والقدر ومن أعظم الشيخ من ترک الهواء والارادة النفسه.

Werden wir im Grab befragt und im Sitzen mit SheikhAbdellatif

Diese Frage hat etwas mit Aqidah zu tun. Jemand der immer über so etwas redet und sich Gedanken macht hat immer Zweifel in seinem Herzen. Die Gläubigen sind ja die an das Verborgene glauben. Surah Al Baqarah Alif Lam Mim. (1) Dies ist (ganz gewiß) das Buch (Allahs), das keinen Anlaß zum Zweifel gibt, (es ist) eine Rechtleitung für die Gottesfürchtigen, (2) die an das Verborgene glauben…. Es geht um Barzakh. Es gibt Adhab al Qabr und Na3imun Qabr. Das ist von Aqidah dass wir daran glauben. Wenn du am Schlafen bist siehst du viele Sachen im Traum. Und wenn ich neben dir bin, bekomme ich nichts mit was du träumst. Und so ist es auch in Barazakh im Grab. In einem Hadith Bukhari und Muslim spricht Rasul Allah saws davon dass man hört wie man im Grab als Gestorbener die Schritte hört von den Leuten wenn sie weggehen. In einem anderen Hadith werden die Namen der Befragenden Engel genannt. Sie werden dich im Grab zum Sitzen bringen. Munkar und Nakir. Was hast du über diesen Mann (Rasul Allah saws) gehört? Ein Muslim kann ganz einfach diese Frage beantworten. "Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Abduhu wa rasuluhu" Ich bezeuge das Muhammad der Gesandte und Diener Allahs ist. Dann wird dem Diener sein Platz im Feuer Jahannam gezeigt und gesagt siehe dein Platz im Feuer aber Allah hat dir was Besseres gegeben. Und dann wir ihm der Platz in Jannah gezeigt und gesagt das ist weil du Muslim bist und diese Frage beantwortet hast. Aber ein Kafir oder Munafiq wird die Frage nicht beantworten können. La Adri ich weiß nicht. Er sagt ich weiß nur was die Menschen gesagt haben und sage das auch. Weil er nicht mit La ilaha ill Allah und nicht an Muhammad saws gelaubt hat und ihm nicht gefolgt ist. Dann wird ihm gesagt er braucht das nicht zu wissen. Es ist zu spät für dich. Dann wird er mit Hammer aus Eisen geschlagen dass er schreit. Er wird zwischen die Ohren geschlagen und er schreit so laut und furchtbar dass alle Geschöpfe es hören außer ah-Thaqalayni die Menschen und die Djinn. Das bedeutet für uns Muslime wir müssen immer sicher sein und wir glauben zu 100% was Allah und sein Gesandter uns gesagt haben. Weil wir auch an diese Ayah 100% glauben wo Allah sagt: Und der Erhabene sagte: „Aber nein, bei deinem Herrn! Sie glauben nicht eher, bis sie dich über das richten lassen, was zwischen ihnen umstritten ist, und hierauf in sich selbst keine Bedrängnis finden durch das, was du entschieden hast, und sich in voller Ergebung fügen.“ Surah al Nisaa 4:65 Sheikh Abdellatif macht am Schluss Dua.

The Prophet recognized Monday and praised fasting it, because he was born and received revelation on that day. He said:

“ذاك يومُ أُنْزِلَ علىَّ ويومٌ ولِدتُ فيه”

this means, “This is the day I was born.” (Muslim)

Is there good bidah?

No, such thing as “good biddah”.

The Prophet (‎ﷺ ) stated repeatedly that: "Every newly-invented thing is a bid'ah (innovation), every bid'ah is a going astray, and every going astray will be in the Fire." (Reported by al-Nisaa'i in al-Sunan, Salaat al-'Eedayn, Baab kayfa al-Khutbah). Reports with the same meaning were narrated via Jaabir (may Allaah be pleased with him) by Ahmad, via al-'Irbaad ibn Saariyah by Abu Dawud and via Ibn Mas'ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) by Ibn Maajah.

The Prophet (‎ﷺ ) used to say, when beginning a khutbah (sermon): " The best of speech is the Book of Allaah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst of things are those which are newly-invented, and every innovation is a going astray" (reported by Muslim, no. 867)

If every bid'ah is a going astray, how can some people then say that there is such a thing in Islam as "bid'ah hasanah"? By Allaah, this is an obvious contradiction of the statement and warning of the Prophet ‎ﷺ.

How do you feel about current situations of muslim and what scholars do you listen to ?

Reality is painful; we are scattered, and nobody wants to unite. More than that, what’s heartbreaking is that there are so many Muslims doing biddah and shirk. And when we try to explain it to them, they are ignorant. May Allah change our current situation; otherwise, we will be doomed.

I don’t listen to a lot of scholars, but when I have to, I go for Dr. Israr Ahmed and Maulana Moududi.

But I would suggest not blindly listening to any scholar; instead, go to the Qur'an and Sahih Hadees for all your problems!

Auch #Ghanima die #Beute nach einem #Krieg #Jihad haben wir als einzige #Ummah erlaubt bekommen dass wir sie mit nach hause nehmen. Es gibt so viele Eigenschaften was wir gegenüber den anderen haben. In Yaum al Qiyamah wird RasulAllah saw uns anhand von #Wudu erkennen. Die Spuren von #Wudu werden leuchten. Wir sind die 1. Ummah die #Abrechnung bekommt. Wir stehen als erstes aus den Gräbern auf überschreiten die #Brücke 70.000 von uns treten ohne #Abrechnung nach #Jannah #Paradies ein und davon jeweils wieder 70.000 Jede Ummah geht eine #Hälfte in Feuer und eine Hälfte nach Jannah Bei uns kommen alle nach #Jannah die #Muwahhidun sind. Die #Paradiesbewohner sind 120 Reihen. 80 Reihen davon sind von #Ummatu Muhammad sallallahu 3alayhi wa sallam. #Tirmidhi Über unsere Ummah wird gesagt dass wir an unserer #Ni'mah festhalten um Muslime zu bleiben.
