Birds aren't real ...but neither are people. Apparently the entire cast and crew of Pirates of the Carribean are robotic. They have infiltrated society and are influencing the world.
False evidence below:
Tumblr media
Mmmmmhmmmm, realistic backside.
I've only said this to draw parallels with the birds aren't real movement. People are real, this is for a theme park ride.
Go back to sleep sheeple...

Day 17 of extinct birds - the Cuban macaw
Now that the pigeons are done (for now) it's time for parrots!
Humans were transporting Cuban macaws (and other parrots) between the Carribean islands likely beginning in prehistoric times! Once Europeans arrived, many Cuban macaw chicks were collected by felling trees that they nested in, which could have destroyed nesting habitat. Other threats included hurricanes and hunting. The last reliable sighting of the Cuban macaw was from 1864.

Percy is like definitely blasting that one song from H2O as she swims in her mer form.
Also if she has her mer form in PjO her army of simps would froth at the mouth. Cause like in pjo mermaid and sirens aren’t like pretty ( to human standards ) sirens are bird ladies whose face shift and mermaids aren’t very to the human gaze pretty either like all blue skin with shark teeth and glowing green eyes
I can deff imagine some idiot looking at mer Percy only to get turned into some animal by a pjo god ( most deff posiodeon ) for so much as staring at her
Also can you imagine Piper the moment she sees that Percy can turn into a very pretty mermaid ?!! She would have a stroke ! She would pass away and evaporate 😋
CUZ IM NO ORDINARY GIRL
IM FROM THE DEEP BLUE UNDERWORLD
LAND OR SEA IVE GOT THE POWER IF I JUST BELIEVEEEEEE
Tumblr media
GOD YES I LOVE THAT SONG SO MUCHHHHHH
and i got curious and looked at the pjo wiki for merfolk and...
Tumblr media
nooooo not leathery skin 😭😭😭 i thought they would be like the stereotypical pretty mermaids ahgfaug LEATHERY SKIN IS SO 😭😭😭
when i made the ror merfolk, i thought it wouldn't be any different from the pjo merfolk so im honestly surprised they were described differently
im guessing the pjo mers are more like the ones from the tv show siren??? this is what the mermaids look like:
Tumblr media
their appearances are more predatory in that show so now im picturing the pjo ones as something like that
honestly, i always saw merfolk (mermaids esp) as like... dangerously deceptive. they look beautiful on the outside, but they're actually deadly vicious predators who lure men to their deaths with their beauty/song, so that's how i wrote the mers in arsenic blues
i was inspired by the mermaids from the pirates of the carribean:
youtube
youtube
anyway yeah, ur totally right. poor pjo!poseidon is gonna have a heart attack when he realizes that his daughter has a pretty mer form rather than the scary one 😭😭😭

20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged by dear @victorianpining
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
52.
2. What's your total A03 word count?
921,539.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly DC/Young Justice, but also Inuyasha and Hetalia
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
The Bridge
Fireworks in July
The Floor is Lava
The Bird and the Worm
you lost the starlight in your eyes
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! Granted I don't always, but when I get a comment asking a question, or one that particularily touches me, I usually respond. But even when I don't, I read and reread every single one.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I'd say as a whole, I'm not interested in angst without pay off. I'll absolutely drag my stories through the angstiest plotlines imaginable, and I'll do it gleefully, but there is nearly always some sort of pay off in an ultimate happy ending. That said, if we're looking at fics as individual stories (particularily in the case of Watercolour as a whole series), I'd say the angstiest might be Arctic or Au Revoir
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
If I'm measuring the happy ending in terms of the angst it took to get to it, definitely Light Me A Lantern.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I think the closest I've gotten is misunderstandings? Particularily when it comes to how I write Dick Grayson's lineage in Watercolour. I've had misunderstandings where people thought I was erasing his Romani identity and making him Romanian instead, when I write him as both - there is a lot of Romani history and a huge population in Romania, and I decided to play into that. Sometimes it gets lost in translation so to speak.
9. Do you write smut?
When I feel like it!
10. Do you write crossovers?
I used to, not really so much anymore.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of! Ngl I'd be pretty upset.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! The incredible @minakok translated Light Me A Lantern into Spanish (Enciéndeme un farolillo) and @eldescensoseduce has been chipping away at translating the beast that is Watercolour into Spanish as well. The first two chapters of Un Giorno Per Noi has been translated into Chinese as well!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I've had beta readers and been a beta reader and had an absolute blast with both - but in terms of actually sitting down, plotting out and writing something together with someone? Not yet. Although the closest thing has probably been the roleplay I've been writing with a friend over discord. That beast has AUs of AUs.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Don't do this to me.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't want to say I doubt I ever will because I really really want to, but... I have to say Der Unsterbliche Preis.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I would say dialogue and writing actions sequences. They're both things that I've struggled with in the past and worked very hard to figure out how to do properly.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I think I still struggle with pacing at times. I don't want to rush into the action and the exciting stuff so sometimes I draw it out more than I really need to and the pacing gets away from me.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
All for it! If I'm using a language I'm not familair with, I'll translate it back and forth a few times trying to make sure I have the nuances as close as I can get to accurate, and I always include translations in the notes. However, if it's a long scene of dialogue, I will just write in that the characters have switched languages, just to make thinks flow better. I don't want to have to scroll up and down the page constantly when I'm reading.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Oh god. It was either Digimon or Pirates of the Carribean. Eons ago.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
This is painful. I definitely have my top fics, the ones I'm most proud of, but Un Giorno Per Noi is a fic that I have reread every christmas since I finished it, so by a percentage of a margin, I'll say that one. Close behind are Light Me A Lantern and Terminal Velocity.
I'm tagging @hanmajoerin @flashhwing and whoever would like to do it because I'm a cop out ✌️

hehe for the ask fic writer game! 15, 19 and 22 <3
Oh these'll be fun to answer! I totally won't write an essay below...nope. Not at all.
15: How do you come up with titles for your fics/chapters?
Okay, this one is a doozie and I feel like I spend way too much time on deciding what to title things...For my main fic, Chosen Horizons, I spent nearly a week or so deciding on what to actually call it.
I was worried while writing the first draft, that if I gave it a name then I wouldn't finish writing it. Kinda like putting all my eggs in one basket, kinda deal...if that makes sense? So, when I was done the first draft, I took my time to figure it out. I asked myself what I wanted the reader to get from the title...like, if it was published and someone saw it in a library or a bookstore, what feeling I want the cover and title to give them.
I wanted the reader to look at the cover while holding it in their hands and instantly get this feeling of whimsy and adventure, of endless possibilities and adventure! Yet, also a sense of myster, in a way. Yes, there are endless possibilities...but it is about choosing what path you will take.
It is about Bilbo knowing all of his options, and having to make the hard decision of choosing which one to go with.
Once I came to this decision on what I wanted the reader to feel, I was able to come up with a good name...or at least one I felt satisfied with. It wasn't too to the point, not was it too vague...it is just right.
Before I settled on that concept, it was a struggle to figure out exactly what I wanted. I thought having something nature related might me nice, so I threw around a lot of tree and oak related things...like: Music of the Oaks, Nordoindale (my attempt at an elvish "music of the oaks" like the Ainulindale), The Oaks Refrain...and so on.
Then I wanted something more relating to both Bilbo and Thorin, and some of those ideas were: Songs of Earth and Stone, Harmonies of the Heart, Oak and Mountain, Through Meadows and Mountains.
There was one idea I really liked at first, and tossed it around a bunch, mixing it up and trying to make it work..but it didn't fit in the end.
-Of Stone, Soil, and Secrets.
-Secrets in the Soil and Stones
-The Silence of Stone and The Secrets of Soil
But...nothing fit quite like "Chosen Horizons" did. Not only do I feel like it fits not only Bilbo having to make hard decisions, but also Thorin, and everyone else. I remember that one line from the end of the Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl, where Jack Sparrow goes: "Now, bring me that horizon."
Tumblr media
"Horizon" isn't just about the literal place where sky meets land/sea/etc...it is also what is ahead. It is the future. It is what awaits you whenever you look outward and forward. It is a feeling that constantly pulls you forward to keep moving, no matter what may happen.
So, the title "Chosen Horizons" is my attempt at putting all of those thoughts and feelings and ideas into two words....hopefully two words that stick in the reader's mind as much as they do in mine.
19: Give us a small teaser from one of your WIPs.
Oh goodness...I have so many right now that it is hard to chose! I'll just add a small exerpt from the one I currently have open...honestly, I'll probably post a longer teaser from it just for fun! I am absolutely excited to finish writing it, and I hope you like it when it's finally published! -----
“My dear, I am sorry, but I do not know why these birds keep circling our home.” Bilbo sighed through gritted teeth and a forced smile. His eyes twinkled with annoyance to anyone who knew him well, but the problem lay in the fact that no one knew him well…not even himself.
As Bilbo Baggins of Bag End looked up at the bright blue, cloudless sky, he watched as three large black birds circled The Hill. Looking down the path that led from his garden to his front door, he saw his fiance standing with her hands on her hips and a raging look of disapproval on her face.
“That’s your answer to everything, now isn’t it, Bilbo Baggins! I don’t know this, I don’t know that…that’s what you always tell me!” The hobbit hissed at her betrothed, and her lips slipped into a snarl when she saw the absolute look of exhaustion cover Bilbo’s face.
“And that, my dear, is because you know as well as the rest of the land that I don’t know!” Bilbo spoke harshly back, though quickly put back on his mask of kind manners and gentleness. His patience was constantly tested by this woman, and he asked himself more and more every day exactly why he was engaged to her.
How in Yavanna’s Green Gardens could I have fallen for Lobellia Bracegurdle, of all hobbits? Bilbo Thought to himself, trying his darndest to maintain his composure as he pointed at the crows, or whatever black bird they were, flying off to the east once more. Sighing, Bilbo made his way down his dirt and stone path to awkwardly affectionately pat Lobellia’s shoulder.
----
22: Do you know how your fic will end before you start writing?
I always think I do...and I'm always so confidently incorrect. Many times when I start writing a story, I have the ending as the idea first...then I get frustrated because I can't stop the need to add background information. Why is Thorin acting like this? Why is Bilbo doing that? I end up writing so much backstory for what was originally supposed to be a quick little one shot that the original ending changes dramatically from it's original intention.
"Chosen Horizons" originally started as a short little epistolary tale after the Battle of Five Armies...it was around 30k words (originally longer than intended). I was satisfied with the ending...but craved to write the story leading up to it! So now, the first draft is over 400 pages...and it doesn't even take into account that that only covers 1/2 of the now intended story.
So yeah! I totally knew how this story was going to end before I wrote it...but has it changed dramatically since? Though the path to the ending of the story has changed, it's conclusion remains the same:
Tumblr media
Thank you again, so so much for asking these! I have a blast rambling about my writing and process...so these made me very happy! I hope my answers were satisfactory and not too rambly...though that is a habit of mine I doubt I'll be rid of any time soon. <3

high rant : vulture fun fact
anew favorite bird: black vulture they found thoughout the east coast and mexico and the carribean. very common, because they fill a niche that is only getting easier and more important, which is eating dead shit.
Tumblr media
Like look at this old ass man of a bird. who thought they could make elderly rotting goth owl hawks that only eat dead shit. (also why are there like a disticnt color scheme for the scavengers)
also they piss on themselves when they get to hot
they homies with capybaras(8.5/10) and tapirs(10/10) cuz they eat ticks and shit off them.
it throws up to get away from preadators they dont have a voice box so they can only hiss and grunt
they are depicted harrasing people by ancient maya heiroglyphs
Group names: A group of vultures in flight is called a 'kettle', while the term 'committee' refers to a group of vultures resting on the ground or in tree. they are in their silly little goth bridge club tournament . like those dogs. but its vultures. that would be sick .

Iguana iguana, better known as the green iguana, American iguana, iwana, garrobo, ministro, iguanita, garrobito, or the common green iguana, is a large, arboreal, mostly herbivorous species of lizard of the genus Iguana which is native throughout much of South, Central, and North America from Paraguay and Southern Brazil up into Northern Mexico. They are also found throughout much of the Carribean and have been introduced to Florida, Texas, Hawaii, Fiji, Ishigaki Island, Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan. Green iguana tend to dwell in forested areas often near bodies of water, as they are preficent climbers, swimmers, and burrowers. These primarily herbivorous lizards feed upon various leaves, fruit, flowers, tubers, shoots, as well as the occasional arthropod, worm, tree snail, fish, egg, rodent, or carrion. Green iguanas are themselves preyed upon by various canines, felines, snakes, crocodilians, bears, birds of prey, and large fish. When threated a green iguana can drop part of its tail as a distraction to help it escape a predator. These do regrow albeit to a limited extent. Reaching around 3.9 to 6.6ft (1.2 to 2m) in length and 2.6 to 20lbs (1.2 to 9.1kgs) in weight with females being a fair bit smaller than males, the green iguana is considered the largest iguana species in terms of length. Distinguishing features of this species include a pendulous dewlap under the throat, a dorsal crest made up of dermal spines that run from the mid neck to the tail base, and a long tapering tail. The dewlap is more developed in adult males than females. Although called green iguanas, these animals are actually variable in color with various populations appearing blue, lavender, black, and even reddish brown in color. Breeding occurs during the dry season, and around 65 days after mating a female green iguana will dig a nest where she will lay 20 to 71 eggs before burying them. The hatchlings emerge from the nest after 10–15 weeks of incubation. Under ideal conditions a green iguana will reach sexual maturity around three and four years of age, and live up to 20 years.
