So does this mean every black recolor digimon (Gulus notwithstanding) has black digitron and are thus immune to GRB? What about all the other recolors and pallet swaps like Psychemon, NiseDrimogemon and IceDevimon?

Okay, now that i'm actually up and around, Happy Odaiba Day everyone. I know it's generally used to celebrate the Digimon Anime, but who give a shit, I'm gonna celebrate v-pets by doing an annual overview of my V-pet collection and what I'm currently running ( don't worry, I have anime related plans later this evening )

My V-pet collecting has slowed down this year. I have most of what matters to me. A DM20th for every version exclusive, plus a few extras with special paint jobs for Holidays, though I contemplate giving away my extras. I have one of each DMX and DMX2, and one DMX3 that I bought before I realized there were plans for english versions, if Bandai doesn't localize DMX3 this year, I may bite the bullet and get the last one I need. And I have the Digivice version complete.

I have put all of these ( sans the Holiday paintjob ones ) in this neat little 3 tier storage container. I have plans to decorate it with stickers, but I'm trying to get very specific custom made ones. Also I want to get another one, because the one I got is already nearly full, and I still haven't even put my Pendulums and DMCs in it yet which as you can see below...

I have all the Pendulum Zs, two Pendulum 20ths, and 2 DMCs, and i'm expecting version 3, 4, and 5 in the mail this Autumn,

The first of the month is generally when I swap my V-pets around. But I was doing an extended run for the last few months of my DM20 to complete my log, and didn't want to put my DMC away yet, also I'm loving my Floppy Frog too much to put it away before it dies, because they don't have battery saves. So half way through the month, I put the DM20th away, and replaced it with Silver Black Pen20, and a Tamagotchi gen 2. Floppy Frog is still going at nearly 90 days, and no battery change. Amazing.

Currently running Saint Galgomon and Ogudomon.

Also, not pictured here, I'm running my Vital Bracelet BE, and I currently have Regulusmon, but I've kept him asleep the whole time, i'm literally just using it as a watch that I set ahead by 10 minutes so I get to work on time. I think he may have Evo failed anyway. I'm not a big fan of the Vital Bracelet BE anyway. I don't like the time limit you have to power up.

That's all for now when it comes to Digimon v-pets. I've got some more V-pets coming in the mail, but they're not Digimon related. I've also been on a Tamagotchi kick, and I'd like to get a Tamagotchi Uni for my birthday in about two Weeks, but we'll see how things look financially around that time.

After what felt like DAYS of trying to open that goddamn door, we did it, I'll cover what's in there in this same entry, but for now, it's time to get in.

"The GRB Virus" a lot of documents covering what this virus is, is what we found inside the gates, as you probably already know, I've already covered this strange virus here, talking about how the military may want to use it to make digimon go berserk and use them for war, however, Vamdemon is way better than I am talking about this stuff, so here you have his description:

"The GRB Virus, or Gulus Realm Burst is an infection caused by the spreading of the power bared within a Digimon called Regulusmon, when the GRB factor infects a Digimon, it altera it's personality and makes them become frenzied, this however, doesn't happen to those digimon that the secretion known as "Black Digitron" the reasons for their immunity are unknown to this day"

If any of you wonder what the hell is a Black Digitron, it's a secretion created by some digimon that alters the evolution and look of some species, this species are, for example, Black Agumon or Black Galgomon.

Just as I was expecting, they want to use this GRB Factor to create an army of crazy digimon they think they could control, only god knows why, they even have a small sample of the GRB Virus in here...

Anyway, let’s go for today’s Digimon Reference Book update.

Today, DRB updated with Omegamon Zwart Defeat, Black Galgomon, and Black Rapidmon. Of the three, Black Galgomon is the most important, because it has only appeared in TCG and Digimon Collectors.

There are still 3 more recolors remaining from -next order-, and Black Guilmon for the Tamers era Digimon, but I’m guessing next update, if it isn’t Gammamon’s remaining forms or the Medabot crossover stuff, will be more Xros Wars stuff. Most likely more Shoutmon forms.

Remaining legacy animé stuff will likely wait until 2022.

“[Wallace gave me a name!]” Noir replied before he gave Palmon a mischievous grin. “[Jealous~?]”

Palmon blinked before she pursed her lips in a pout. “[Of course not!]”

“Um…” Taichi scratched his head. “Could you repeat all that for those of us who have no idea what the heck you just said?” A chime on his D-Terminal startled him into opening it before anyone could answer, revealing a new video message from those still back in the real world.

Miyako gestured to the English speaking group from her position on the DT2s’ screen. “Mimi was chewing Wallace out for not telling her he was a Chosen Child. Wallace said it just happened. Also, he calls his partner Noir.”

“Noir?” Daisuke asked, confused. “That doesn’t sound like a Digimon name.”

“It’s my name and I’m a Digimon,” Noir said with a cheeky smile, wiggling his ears. “So that makes it a Digimon name - my name~!”

“Huh,” Takeru said with a blink, then looked up at Patamon. “I guess it never… occured to me to give you a name, Patamon.” All this time, he had treated ‘Patamon’ as his partner’s name as if he were the only Patamon, but only now did it dawn on him that there might be other Patamon in the Digital World. After all, there was a village of Koromon, with each having the possibility of evolving in to Agumon - or rather, an Agumon. “Does that bother you?”

“No,” Patamon said as he looked down at his partner from atop Takeru’s head. “Not really.”

“This is wonderful!” Sora said as she moved to stand beside Mimi, smiling at Wallace. “How did it happen?”

“I found his egg after the fight,” Wallace said, switching to Japanese. He spoke slowly and carefully, like someone without much practice or experience. “On Halloween, with the goat.”

Yamato’s eyes widened at that. “You mean… Mephismon?!”

“It must have summoned your egg there,” Takeru said with a blink. “I didn’t know that could happen… but I guess it makes sense. I mean, that’s where you were, after all.”

Wallace gave a nod. “The egg didn’t hatch right away. I was worried.”

elecmon I think I gotcha now!! Uhh, how's one for the near future? (I'm still really uncertain how long I'll want to stay at my first job, stress is building up high by the day) aanndd, how's an adventure specific spread? Or your favorite one! C:

Alrighty here goes!! I made up my own spread for the first one. (Also I had A LOT of new cards in the deck so this is a first for a lot of things lol)

Actually (I hope it’s alright) but since the first one got so long I hope its okay I only did one of them ^^;;;

1. Present Situation

Vikemon(reverse)

“A Beast Man-type Ultimate Digimon which governs the freezing lands of the permafrost, where nothing ever thaws.” Its fur is said to be as hard as chrome digizoid and can punch a hole through a mountain, as well as alter space-time with its weapon, Mjolnir.  Vikemon is basically the Digimon version of Thor, where it can be merciless in battle while also showing compassion to those under him. He is a great general of the North. Vikemon is also one of the mega evolutions of Gomamon, who is a digimon of Reliability/Sincerity.

Now, I don’t usually consider reverses since I’m not suuuper experienced with them, but hey let’s wing it. I believe the reverse in this could represent the negative aspects of the card--freezing, stiff, and a lot of responsibility on your shoulders. 

2. Current Challenges

Gizamon

The amphibious Digimon. It’s more suited for life in water than on land. On land, it is timid, but when put in water it lets its true, ferocious personality show. 

I take this to mean that you may feel like you’re a fish out of water--or a frog out of water, so to speak lol You aren’t in your element and this is hindering your ability to be your ful self. 

3. Upcoming Challenges

Ganimon

CRAB. Ganimon is a Digimon that took metal floating around the Net Ocean and fitted itself out with armor. It attacks with its strong, bladed pincers. Its spiked shell works both as defense and offense, as anything that attacks it is likely to hurt itself.  “It's a confident person with substantial self-confidence in battle. Its weak point is the soft spot on its belly, but because it's also aware of that, it never shows that chink in its armor. It likes to entrap its opponents, and has a rascally personality.”

There’s a lot that could be said with Ganimon (it seems to be a pretty loaded card) but one thing I find interesting is that in Tamers, it was one of the frozen victims of IceDevimon. While IceDevimon is not one of our cards, I can’t ignore the ice parallels here. 

So, I think this may mean that you may be a confident person, though guarded. People who may not be “attacking” may get hurt on your “spikes”. In addition, the stresses of the current situation may completely make guarding your “soft belly” moot and completely keep you frozen and unsure of what to do. 

4. Aspects that Cannot be Changed About the Current Situation

Galgomon (reverse)

Galgomon is a hunter. A rabbit with pants. A Gun Bunny. Despite his appearance he is actually incredibly accurate with its aim and nimble to boot. In the show, when Terriermon first evolved, he wasn’t able to handle his new power and went out of control and almost hurt the kids (and hurt a lot of cars. RIP.)

I believe this means that much of the situation is really out of your own control. 

5. How to Overcome/Advance

Andromon

A cyborg Digimon that was made at the same time as Boltmon. He is a prototype that later led to the developments of MetalGreymon and Megadramon. Though said to be without will and without emotion, it is follows its programming to a T. In Adventure, he as one of the Digimon possessed by a Black Gear and was later freed and became a reoccurring ally. In Tamers, Andromon was the partner of Hirokazu and fought to free the Gekomon from Orochimon. 

In many different stories, Andromon is seen as either a soldier following its programmed orders and/or a freedom fighter. (I also find it kind of interesting since Hirokazu has Jyou’s crest on his shirt and Andromon has a “soft spot”/weakness area on his leg, kind of like Ganimon’s soft underbelly.)

What I believe this to mean, is that you need to be true to "programming”, that is to say, true to yourself, your morals, and what you believe in. You may have to step into (or may already be) a “prototype” of who you want to be, but that’s not a bad thing--it’s simply a step towards the direction you want to go. (Or maybe not, but it’s okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them!)

It’s also okay to get help from others if you really need it. Perhaps, swinging back to the crest of Sincerity thing that connects Andromon to Vikemon--in order to turn reverse Vikemon to regular Vikemon (getting rid of negatives to get the positives hiding underneath) you may need to be more sincere with yourself or others (or, if we go by dub, replace that with Reliability.) Or perhaps those are things you need to seek from other people.

Digimon Tamers: Best season of the franchise (Part 1)

I hope you all watched Digimon or at least the first season and I also hope that you loved it 'cause it's a really good anime for a children. So getting on the topic, Digimon Tamers is my favorite season of the Digimon series of wich I'm a huge fan and I like it the most because of several things but is mainly thanks to the work of one person:

Chiaki Konaka is a writer and scenarist that was noticed for his work in Serial Experiments Lain (If you haven't seen it yet, do it. In Lain explores themes such as identity, the idea of reality and is very dark being set in a cyberpunk kind of world) and then get to work in Digimon Adventure 02 but he left the project, leaving the arc of the black ocean midways (If you don't remember is the really sad/nihilistic/creepy part of Hikari being taunted by a mysterious voice to go to a different dimension that was neither the digital world nor the human world) and then got the offer to work in Digimon Tamers as chief writer. So you get the idea that a darker tone was being set from the beginning for this season, making it far more mature than the previous two.

The first thing we need to focus on is the characters background and development through the series. There are 3 main characters at the beginning: Matsuda Takato, Lee Jianliang and Makino Ruki. For these 3 (and for the rest of the tamers) he did a background story that would help develop their final concept, not only the characters design but also their psychology and traits, thus making their personalities an important part of the anime. There is a lot of development in the characters personalities; maturing or growing up is a concept that is very important setting up the plot and making it advance. There are a lot of examples of this last idea; Takato growing from being the childish, immature, coward boy to becoming a proper leader to the bunch, winning against his fears and learning how to actually do something to help the people he cared for or the really good development of Ruki from the cold, selfish and aggressive girl with serious trauma from her father leaving her and low self-esteem to the caring, compassionate, strong and confident girl eager to lend a hand to others.

The second thing I would like to point out is a little bit more of a Digimon weebfan-based argument. With this season the lore/creation and functioning of the Digimon World was explained more precisely and it has a lot to do with the later part of the history. In Tamers the digital world began to exist when human telecommunication started to develop and expanded alongside it, then the digimon were created by a group of investigators researching artificial intelligence and one of them, Shibumi, gave them the ability to evolve letting 4 of them evolve into especially powerful beings, the 4 digimon sovereign the guardians and rulers of the digital world. I personally enjoy a lot when the anime cares to explain the functioning of the world that it is set into and when it presents a well-constructed lore to support all the action happening and that’s why is something that makes this season shine more than the others.

The last thing that I will talk about in the first part of this post has to do with the idea of the tamer and the digimon companion. In this season there was some sort of “the chosen one” idea that was a big part of the first two seasons, but it wasn’t just that. The tamers differentiate from the chosen children in Adventure 01 and 02 not only by the way they get their digimon companions (mostly luck and a series of random events) but also by the idea of taming something. Digimon are feral creatures that must fight to empower themselves and survive in a hard world so it’s not easy to befriend them, this conflict happened a lot during the series being the critical example the incident with galgomon in chapter 3 (in this chapter galgomon almost shoots Ruki, another example on how this season was far more mature in content than the others). Also, the card system used to improve the battle capabilities of the digimon companion was really cool to me. The other thing that is different and very appealing to me is the idea of tamers merging with their digimon, this type of evolution can only be achieved through getting a deep bond with your digimon companion, plus the transformations were so good in the visual aspect.
