Binderary 2025

Binderary is an annual February bookbinding marathon over on the Renegade Bindery's discord server. Last year I completed one (1) book during binderary.  My goal this year was 5, maybe 8 if I really had my act together.

I started the month with six completed typesets of my own and three from users over at the Renegade Bindery’s discord server.  And because I was impatient to start, I had six texts printed and ready to go when the month started.  And then it was off to the races!

I completed 12 books in Febraury, 4 Folios, 4 Quartos, and 4 Octavos.

Two were author/illustrator copies

That’s 2,532 pages of fic, roughly 470 sheets of paper, and what seemed like a million misprints that will be reused as glue sheets.

19 fics (3 multiwork books, 7 standalone) over 9 different fandoms (including 2 crossovers) plus one public domain work.

Other random stats:

All the books together take up 11 inches of shelf space.  The ones that aren’t being sent off to their respective creator use 9 inches.  I do not have 9 inches of shelf space free right now. Hmmmm...

I finished 3 sample sheets of bookcloth, 10 sheets of decorative cardstock, three of plain, and 5 sheets of decorative paper.  Everything was from stash - the only thing I bought for this month was a small hammer to use on my first rounded spine.

I finished up the month with one half-finished author copy, a nearly finished typeset, and two shared typesets I still need to make.

It’s going to take me a while to get all of these posted so bear with me through the incoming spam.  Here’s a cat in compensation.
