-at the black market when Mylene is waxing poetic about how great zeke is and shao just smiles secretly and is like, yeah he’s cool I guess (in love)

-mylene saying how zeke is Good and would never steal and shao is like, Hm! You don’t know him at all (like I do) 😌

like,not eating them but having more of a specific taste in your mouth while reading if ya know what I mean

some examples:

No Longer Human (Dazai Osamu) = espresso on a rainy day made by a smoking barista

The Brothers Karamazov (Fyodor Dostojewski) = Schwarzwälderkirsch(a cake I cannot be bothered to google the english name for) in a small cafe in some alley

Harry Potter = wayy too sweet tasting chocolate and bland cookies on a train ride

Percy Jackson(but like,the first books) = the grass you accidentally eat because you face planted on the field you were playing with your friends

Song Of Achilles = an orange under an orange tree in summer near a cliff to the sea

neopets ideas for adding more stuff:

grooming item awards: monthly bronze/silver/gold trophy for your pets, divided by species (each trophy would be "vain uni", "vain chia", "vain draik", etc.) based on which neopets used the most grooming items in a month. there would also be a lifetime 'vanity award' more like the booktastic award we know and love

petpet beauty competitions: not like the actual neopet beauty contest, but imagine like a neopian dog show. every monday and friday, you'd pick one of your neopets' petpets to participate in the contest; entry fee is a few 'petpet supplies' items (as a donation to help petpet shelters!). 25 entrants will be picked at random to receive a ribbon for their pet's lookup.

gamer faerie. random event where a faerie challenges you to score a certain amount in a game so you can earn items (a stamp, maybe a negg, anything above a certain rarity threshold). "laria the gamer faerie swoops in and says "i bet you can't score 2900 in typing terror! see you in the games room" and flies off."

wheel of extravagance DELUXE: one million per spin, you can earn either: an avatar, an album item, a neodeck card, a random petpet or petpetpet, or a petpet paint brush.

replace the intelligence stat with "books read", and add a new INT stat that can be increased by taking your neopet to complete their education at school. the entry fee for the school is a few stationery items and you have a chance of bringing home a book of a certain rarity threshold.

*if* dacardia is ever implemented, we could be able to help rebuild it through the site itself. add a daily quest like taelia's/the chef's/edna's where a randomly generated dacardia resident (just a static image of a pet of a random color) will ask for certain furniture items (both classic and 2.0 neohome items) to rebuild their home.

Reassessing my 2024 Goals

it's June 30th, which in past years has become the day I take a look at my reading goals and see if they need adjusting. I wasn't actually planning on doing this this year, since I only set 3 goals, but I'm doing so well with them that I'm going to add something in to adjust my priorities a little.

Something I keep track of is how many books on my TBR are by authors I've read before. and this category of book is something I'm feeling like I'm neglecting. so I'm going to add a 4th goal:

The 2024 Challenge

Read 100 books (almost half my starting TBR).

Attempt to read each of the books on my Backlog Books list.

Attempt to read 1 series each month.

Attempt to read 2 books by a familiar author each month.

I'll be including that goal in my wrap-ups from July onwards. I hope I can start to shrink that list down a bit and feel like I'm making some progress. after all, I love most of the authors on that list, I'm sure to have fun actually reading them hehe

ive looked at my gallery on neopets for the first time in awhile and you can see how I just cannot decide what to collect, I've always wanted to win a gallery spotlight but just canNOT decide

So I’ve been reintroduced to neopets for the past few weeks and have quite the collection of stuff, that being said I absolutely have no idea what to do with all this shiny obsidian like do I just keep collecting it, can I throw it at dark lord Sloth or something??!? I’ve already got ten of them and I do know what to do with it?

So I started the game with my own blue Aisha who is lovingly named Luna (not her full name) then I decided to go to the adoption center and found a really old grundo named Sheila (not her full name) who was starved to death, luckily I had plenty of food and kept feeding her until she was bloated then proceeded to play with her for an hour or so. I promised myself that I would make sure Sheila would never starve again, she’s my baby now. She has a petpet Xepru named Lulu who takes good care of her.

Luna is pretty smart after I read her so many books, she’s read 22 regular books and 12 booktastic books now she’s on master genius level, I’m so proud of her. We’re currently training her level so that she can also do battle at the battledome, she’s currently level 4 from training school, but I’m thinking of doing some pirate school leveling too for fun. She has a Petpet Spyder named Cleo who I send out for adventure in Grave Danger all the time, she seems like she has fun with it.

I also created a green Ogrin named Onigiri ( not his full name) he’s my fashionista I like to try to dress him up in different clothing. He has an Altachuck named Alta, I know very original right XD he’s a cuddly little guy perfect for my Onigiri.

I love this game so much, I always go to thedailyneopet.com/dailies so that I can instantly do everything that I need to do each day during my work time. But once I’m home I play some games, groom my pets, and go fishing (I’m level 5 just recently). There’s always something to explore and I’m having a heck of a time.
