Californian Houses Rental (No CC) | Anchorpoint Abode

I had so much fun building, and for these lots, I was inspired by a couple of brazilian exposed blocks homes I found on Pinterest (I’ll link each inspiration to its respective build below!)

Since this neighborhood is basically all sand and surrounded by water, I made sure to fill each building with fountains and plenty of plants – especially harvestable trees, which are a must for me! I think they add a bit more realism to the game (and even though gardening in the game can be a pain, I just love it).

With all the game updates over the last few months, I took the opportunity to clean up my mods folder and tried building these lots with minimal CC. For the main structures, I’ve only added CC windows and doors, so they’re mostly unfurnished for now, but I’ll eventually post updates on these houses! All of them have the Eco Lot trait and the Reduce and Recycle challenge.

After: We detailed a beautiful rear extension with bi-fold doors and roof lantern to allow masses of natural light into the house. The open-plan living space has a contemporary kitchen, dining space, and snug sitting room that simply flows into the garden – ideal for family living and entertaining.

Inspiration Tip: Use bi-fold or sliding doors and roof glazing to seamlessly link interior and exterior areas.

Side Return Extension – East Dulwich

Before: The kitchen had been a dark, cramped space, with a wasted alleyway along the side of the house.

After: We have opened up the kitchen to give a light, airy kitchen-diner. Skylights and brickwork exposed have given character, and underfloor heating and bespoke cabinetry a luxurious touch.

Inspiration Tip: Side return extensions are perfect for Victorian and Edwardian houses with narrow floor plans – the reconfiguration of light and space is dramatic.

Wraparound Extension – Streatham

Before: The ground floor was chopped up into individual rooms, and the family found it difficult to spend time together in one room.

After: We created a wraparound extension that incorporated the side and rear rooms of the house, one large, open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. We also incorporated a utility room and downstairs WC for family essentials.

Inspiration Tip: Wraparound extensions are flexible – you can design the area to have open-plan living but still have some areas hidden away.

Rear Extension + Garden Makeover – Wimbledon

Before: The property possessed an awkward L-shaped layout indoors, and the garden felt isolated from indoors,

Before: We constructed a rear extension featuring massive sliding doors and replaced patio decking with new decking to eliminate the threshold between indoors and outdoors. An inbuilt bench, garden lighting, and planters made the garden a social area throughout the year.

Inspiration Tip: Tie your garden updates in with your extension for optimum use of the extension and garden.

Small Extension for a Cozy Office Nook – Tooting

Before: A family expanding needed a peaceful work-from-home area, but didn't wish to lose a bedroom.

After: We created a compact yet chic rear extension that turned into the ideal home office. Natural light, subtle storage, and a view over the garden made it a peaceful, productive room.

Inspiration Tip: You don't need masses of space – even a small extension can solve a real lifestyle issue.

Cabin for a spacefaring father and his tiny green son.

The cabin had 30 seconds of screentime and no interior shots, but I was nevertheless determined to recreate it. Without stuff from the Batuu pack (because I don't own it) I had to make do with whatever cc I had. Much of the interior is also based on speculation so the cabin ended up being a blend of vaguely futuristic brutalism. But hey, I like it :)
