I thought him having jacked up teeth may be fun, and overall I just wanted to really bring out that greasiness.

Jane’s design is probably my favorite. I’m not super great at muscle, but I wanted to give her a strong build due to her super human strength! Also I saw some artists giver her a neat trad goth-ish vibe which I took some inspiration from!

Toby is my favorite character and… well I followed his ref sheet pretty closely. I did give him longer hair tho mainly because he is a disaster and I don’t think he would sit still for, or care enough for a hair cut. He also gave off “I don’t brush my hair” vibes.

Ok EJ is a taped over cut out because I didn’t like the og drawing of him. I have it posted somewhere on here if you look for it. Anyways I wanted to give him grey skin because fuck yeah grey skin. And hands that fade to shadow because bro is a demon. Also like to think he has a full out demon form (akin to the og image)

FelidaeMD is yet another crossover between HouseMD and WarriorCats, where I will be actively rewriting the series, along with adjusting it to fit the warriors series.

Norwegian-Forest-Cat based! I took inspiration off of a sheep, because of her bangs within the show always reminded me of one.. and idk she has sheep vibes. She also has extra toes on one of her front paws! No reason, just cuz I thought it'd be cool.

JASPERWREN ( Wilson )

Based on an American-Curl +a little heart-like dot on his face! He's the Mediator of the clan they're within, cuz I thought it'd be fitting. More wavy-ish fur.

HARSHGUST ( House )

He's a Cornish-Rex mix. I saw this in a certain Warriors-AU and really liked it, but I can't remember the goddamned name of it (going feral rn). Either way, credits to them! One of his front claws is declawed, just for some detail, and he is the main medicine cat of the clan. Also! Cats, and many animals, can get blood clots and things like that, so it's the same thing that fucked up his leg. No monster or anything like that.

EVERGREENFALL ( Foreman )

I really love his design.. idk why.. he's a Burmese mix, and yeah! He's another medicine cat that House mentored, and stuff like that. Simple. Idk I just love drawing him too!! Also! Extra toes like Cuddy, cuz after all, he does replace her.

AIRYCHIRP ( Cameron )

A Somali! I couldn't decide if I wanted to lean blonde or brown, cuz I think of both when I see her... but I thought an in-between would fit better. I love her chronically sad look... she's so funky...

RAVENCOIL ( Chase )

A marbled Bengal. He didn't change much... as u can tell. It's just him. Same paws / tail being a lighter color as House, following in his paw steps and stuff.... idk. he.

REEDHAIL ( Thirteen )

No real reasoning in her design! I decided on a rex mix with other stuff in there cuz I thought her being a mix was more fitting, is all. (I think the rex part came to me from the same au as the house-rex thing, but I can't remember! sry!!)

VASTAMBER ( Amber )

Her design came easily to me. I saw it since day one, as a simple wirehair cat. It just immediately came to mind. This graceful, golden wirehair who just always looks so.. oddly relaxed.

COLDTAIL ( Taub )

Scottish fold was so obvious.. and also from the same one as House/13, I believe? Idk I just thought it was rlly fitting! I wish I could've gone further with his design, but overall, it's Taub. I think it matches him well enough! itty bitty guy....

LYREKRILL ( Kutner )

Kutner was either gonna be a snowshoe or Siamese, and I thought Siamese fit better, so here he is! I rlly like how simple he is, and Siamese are honestly some of my favorite cats so obv I like him... if only he stuck around for longer. But he definitely made his impact on the show.

Since I cannot add anymore images (yes, very unfortunate) and Vogler / Tritter didn't change designs one bit, they won't be in this post. I'll post them later on probably, but yeah.

Hey everyone!! So I’m still recovering from residual covid stuff and not feeling 100%, but I’ve acquired some energy at the moment to post some things I’ve managed to work on while I was sick. This first thing I’ve got to share here is a ref for Reese!! 

(⚠️warning, there’s a lot of rambling here below the cut⚠️)

  Okay, so this ref was intended to be done around the same time as Donald's, but I ended up going on a bit of a journey when it came to Reese's hair. I had been wanting to change it for a while because there were some details about it that didn't make much sense that bothered me, like when drawing it at different angles. I also noticed that when I got art commissioned of him, the artists seemed to be rather confused on how his hair worked, and I got two different depictions of his hair. And this was not by resquest mind you, I think they ended up drawing his hair the way they did because they were simply trying to figure out how it worked. 😅 And I don’t blame them, because even I was confused about how his hair actually worked.

I honestly didn’t even know what kind of hairstyle I was going for with him before. I just wanted some kind of spiky-ness going on because I was going for a kind of punk rock vibe. And for the most part I did like how it looked, but it just wasn’t very functional. 

So when redesigning his hair, I wanted to make it more comprehensive while also making sure it still fit Reese’s character and vibe. And when I say it was a journey trying to pick on that worked and felt good, it was a JOURNEY. 

Art first I was going for a slicked/combed back look because that’s the kind of style I saw the artists I commissioned doing, and it looked like the best bet to try and go for a style like that if I wanted to try and preserve his older style. I messed around with a lot of different options but nothing really worked for me. It all ended up looking kinda weird and I just wasn’t fully satisfied with it. 

I even tried other long-haired styles that were more functional but would still add some spikiness to his hair in some way, but I didn’t really like how those looked on him either. At some point, I started to realize that I liked the look of him just having long hair in general, and that it didn’t really have to be spiky. Soooo… that’s when I started drawing his hair without any spiky-ness, and eventually into what I’ve got here now. This turned out to be the style that I felt the most comfortable with him having. I think it looks good on him! Plus I still got to have him keep that lighter color of hair, but this time it’s applied in what I feel like is a more natural-looking way.

Ummm I don’t really know what else I want to say at the moment so I think I’m done rambling for now! I plan on posting an extra thing showing some alternate hairstyles that he does. One thing I really like about his updated hair design is that it feels more versatile and that a lot of stuff can be done with it, so I’ll be having fun with that!

I did a height comparison chart thing and if their wiki-heights tell the truth, Wriothesley is 6'4, while Aether is 5'4. (And if you wanted to know what that height may physically look like, Aether can barley reach his head over Wriothesley's shoulder blade)

Also another question!

do you have any options on scaramouche? I see him as a little personally, but many people hc him as a cg and yeah I get where they're coming from! But what is your opinion about that? 🤔 Maybe options of Scara in gen, etc. . .

~First of all, I thought Wriothesley had wolf ears when I first saw him, and upon finding out this isn’t true, ‘my disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined’ /ref

~Also, I have not met him technically. So I am going off of general vibes here and I am so sorry if I am off 😔 But you are so right, he just gives off over protective big brother vibes and I love it!

~Very much a no nonsense caregiver but still super soft and sweet when he wants to be

~The height comparison is too cute. Ahhh, tiny baby :3 I love Aether so much >.< I'm just imagining Aether being held for the first time by Wriothesley and instantly feeling so small, both physically and mentally and so very safe. The poor boy needs a break honestly.

~Okay, but imagine for a sec the most pouty, overtired baby who absolutely does not want to listen to his caregiver. Throws himself on the floor arms crossed, like 'ha, what are you going to do about it?’ And Wriothesley just barely blinks at the regressor's antics, and scoops Aether up like the Traveler is weightless. Instantly the tiniest little guy being held.

~Regarding Scaramouche. See, you can't give me a character with a traumatic childhood/backstory and expect me not to see him as a regressor /j

~He wouldn't have experienced a real childhood. Essentially cast out into the world on his own with no support. And for the longest time wouldn't even know what the feeling was when he's regressed. As the Wanderer the small floaty feeling that came on when he was feeling lost and overwhelmed only multiplied.

~I like to think that Nahida is his caregiver and the first one to explain what age regression is. Poor thing would probably have such trust issues when it comes to having a caregiver. He would be expecting her to act towards him like Ei did and just flat out ignore his needs while little so it takes him such a long time to open up to the idea of her actually caring about him.

~Random little headcanon: He would have a crow plush. Maybe wearing a tiny version of his own hat that was made especially for the little friend

~I can see him being a caregiver in the sense of trying and be better than the 'adults' around him, and the guilt of leaving someone behind when they are obviously distressed because that's what he always wanted someone to do for him. For who though I'm not sure. (My gut reaction is Aether but then again I just really like baby Aether so...)

so fun fact they both hold titles: queen and bishop respectively, because the campaign took place in a demon’s chess game!! it was super fun hehe and max was originally an npc from leonora’s backstory BUT my dm brought him into the campaign proper and then i stole his character sheet so he’s MINE NOW.

leonora is actually the niece of the BBEG and her father was the patron of our party’s warlock! so some fun family dynamics there. max is rumored to be an insane necrophile because leonora is legally dead! fun!! and there’s a whole lot of backstory stuff i bombarded @thedndgoblinwholivesinyourwalls with hehe so they’re linked here, here, and here.

next are some characters i love dearly but haven’t posted about much! starting with lorelei

…whose character playlist is 80% carrie underwood. if that gives you any indication of her vibes hehe. rambunctious child to a pious, uptight family, lorelei is off to discover herself and prove herself out of SPITE!! she’s a college of chance bard to be specific and she’s kind of just here for a good time not for a long time. also i accidentally made it canon that she has in fact fucked a dragon.

and finishing off the roster of characters i’ve finished refs for: casimir (and his daughter veda!!)

so casimir is a necromancer whose wife left him after he was Consumed By The Horrors!! but his daughter stuck around and accidentally saw some stuff she wasn’t supposed to see, so his mentor had her killed as a way to teach casimir his place so to speak. he intended to give up his studies but then her ghost started appearing to him, and now it’s almost like she never left! also he is very much drowned cat in the dumpster energy as well. i love him dearly.

and i have another warlock named derowyn, whose info is here! loosely based on the woodsman from over the garden wall, but a satyr whose brothers soul is in the lantern and if she tries to back out of the deal THEY becomes a tree hehe

soo @drizzit i don't know if you were expecting an actual answer but I love rendering gold/silver actually so i'll answer haha

I'll tell you that my method was derived from a video I saw like one time and then just ran with the vibes. it might help you but it also would probably be most beneficial when used with actual references lol which I am very bad at using

short version, the shinier you want something to look the bigger the difference between the base and the darker colors and also the more solid the shading should be. if its textured (metal or fabric) it'll reflect less and therefore have less extreme color difference and less solid shades. I also tend to put all my gold pieces on one layer (and silver its own, essential one layer per type of metal) so I can shade in larger sweeping strokes

more with examples under the readmore bc this got kinda long oops

So here's some places where I wanted things to be shiny and chrome. To give it that look i pick a base color, then I pick a waaaay darker color to be the darkest shading, for silver that'll be dark gray or black and for gold I typically use a darker yellow/brown. Then I pick one or two lighter shades in the metal and then sometimes white

below is a typical three colors I use for gold

dont be afraid to use A LOT of the dark color, because the shinier and chromier an object is the more its going to reflect, see below and look how much of the object is NOT silver/gray in color because its reflecting so much. ALSO the different color areas are going to be more solid, like in the silver choker in the first pic where its solid lines of black and gray or below where large, smooth swaths of it is white/black/dark gray

adding a sparkle can also help lol, procreate has a premade shine brush

if an object is textured it will reflect less so you can do less extreme difference between colors and use softer, grainier brushes, below are some reference examples of how those textured metals look

here is a design I made with both gold fabric and textured gold pieces, the shading on the cloth is a lot less... rigid? solid? then the chromes and the dark color not quite as dark, same with the belt buckle. Also the brush i use is softer and with more of a grain so it's less solid and more diffused over the texture

these can be applied to more complicated designs. Typically I like to work with long sweeping strokes because i like to do things fast and a lil lazy. This isn't always going to end up with the most REALISTIC end result but hey, it works. you should still consider things like 'where is the light?' 'where are the objects and things that might reflect on the metal?' but if you want to get nitty gritty use a ref

below is an drawing i did where I started coloring the arm with large sweeping strokes down the whole arm and then I went in and did the detail work to give the decorations depth

Intro

This is Burrow (he/him), sometimes Dr. Burrow. He’s an alien biologist and an influential businessperson aboard a scifi planet-like spaceship. No, he does not use these powers for good.

He’s also being borderline mind-controlled by an alien fungus, because a good few decades ago this dumbass saw a giant mass of evil mind-controlling brain goop and went “so cool!” Sadly for him, the fungus doesn’t want to be your friend.

So while he gets Cool Abilities like regeneration, boosted strength, and a longer lifespan, he also wants to turn his friends into mushroom creatures.

Other than that, nobody knows much about him. He must have gotten a doctorate somewhere, but no one knows where. He only goes by “Burrow,” so it’s unclear if he even has a first name.

Why should you vote for him?

a) His design is cool as fuck. I know I designed him but I’m still going to say that he is just really cool looking. So far there are not that many bug-based ocs in the polls so make my bug boy win pls and thank you

b) He’s only ever had to eliminate one person! She was getting in the way, okay…

c) His motivations are not at all noble! He is literally just a shitty guy. I think tumblr appreciates shitty guys.

d) He’s mysterious! I think tumblr appreciates mysterious guys.

e) His theme song is Doombop! by the Toxhards. I don’t know if this is a benefit or not, I guess it depends on if you like that song. If you do, just know it describes him perfectly. If you don’t, just know it has nothing to do with him I was just listening to it while writing this bio.

f) His sexuality and gender are nebulous. I never actually put effort into assigning solid gender/sexualities to my ocs I just go based on what they give me, and I haven’t gotten any strong vibes from him so far, so do with him what you want. He’s just some guy.

g) He has a toyhouse. This a plug for my toyhouse.

h) He’s a poor little meow meow. A 50 year old man can be bbg, doesn’t matter if he’s literally ruined lives. Oh I just realized I didn’t mention his age before yeah he’s kind of old. Ants age differently.

so, this piece. I've LOVED it since i first saw it. But, there's too much going on here, and it's way too bright. I don't think this backgrouund or keeping the sextuplet's original / iconic hair was a bright decision for this look... it just looks kind of doofy and doesn't really match the outfit vibes they're going for.

So, I drew and edited the hesokuri wars band au hair on them! the ref sheet i made for myself specifically for this purpose looked like so;

And now, for my thought process~

Dr Henry Jekyll: Man's is built like a fuckin TANK bro. Idk why everybody draws him as a twink he's CLEARLY meant to be MASSIVE(/pos). Anyways, as you've probably noticed, I leaned HEAVILY into the color coding for this one. I chose red for Jekyll mostly- uh, mostly just because I already associated Hyde with green and I wanted them to be complimentary colors? But also he has red character vibes in the musical to me. Probably because the poster is very red. I gave him tiny glasses cuz I thought it looked cool lol. I uh, I don't really know why he's the only character with visible pockets? I guess I just thought it looked best on his design or something. He was originally gonna have a ponytail but I thought it made him look to much like he was from the American Revolution so I changed it to the shorter, poofier style shown in the picture. Also his vest was originally brown but I decided I wanted more red in his design so I changed it.

Gabriel John Utterson: SQUARE. SQUARE SHAPED MAN. He's repeatedly described as like the most boring man alive so I decided to reflect that in his design by making him really rigid and almost statue-like. Hence all the grays. I wanted to add a dash of color though, so I gave him a blue tie(also the strappy thingy around his hat is blue but that isn't visible here). He's also super pale to go with the cold/stoney vibe of the rest of his color scheme.

Dr Hastie Lanyon: God this one took me FOREVER to figure out omfg. I didn't have a very good idea of what he looked like while reading the novel and until I started actually searching for them I didn't see very many fan designs for him. All I knew is I wanted him to wear yellow bcuz primary color trios RULE. But theeeeeen I started looking up other peoples designs, and picked out a couple of contants I liked (ex; short, dark skin, gray streaks), then boom! I knew what I wanted to do! Anyways yeah, once I had an idea I just went for it and uh, I dont have much else to say :)

Edit: WAIT SHIT I FORGOT LANYON HAS LIKE A MASSIVE WHITE STREAK IN HIS HAIR OMFG-

Edit 2 Electric Boogaloo: Okay so my Lanyon design was driving me SO crazy I felt the need to update the ref, so now he's a little taller and has the afformentioned white streak aornfoemdk

Edward Hyde: Fun fact, Hyde was originally going to be 4'6, but I just kept making him shorter and shorter until he lost the 6 inches entirely lol. The only description we got of Hyde in the book was that he was small, hairy and had an "unexpressed deformity", so I guess I just took that to mean he is a Creature and ran with it lmao. I made him SUPER pointy, just the sharpest man. Mostly to contrast with the round shapes of Jekyll, but also he's kinda just that kinda dude, y'know? I also made sure his silhouette was super uneven, in contrast to all of the classy characters have(mostly) symmetrical silhouettes. OBVIOUSLY he needed to have a cloak and top hat, because really, what Hyde design is complete without a cloak and top hat? There are 3 reasons I decided to make his color green: 1; the potion Jekyll uses to become Hyde is green. 2; Green, at least in my mind, means sick, and Hyde is supposed to look sickly and unpleasant. And 3; The Ghost of Mr Hyde from Scooby Doo is green and he was the first version of the character I ever saw, so I've kinda just associated him with it ever since. Speaking of the Ghost of Mr Hyde, the mud on his shoes is actually an homage to that episode! I tried to get the color as close to the weird, off redish the mud on Dr Jekyll's shoes was in that episode. Why? Because Scooby Doo my beloved <3. Also since this section is already so fucking long, the reason he has that silver tooth is because the original got knocked out in a fight. In this version, Hyde's injuries do NOT carry over to Jekyll, and vice versa, so he needs to take out the tooth before he transforms back and put it back in when he's Hyde again. Idk why I put the most thought into Hyde's design but whatever-

theres a couple different subsections here? like theres a couple that are The Vibe (musical aesthetically), since sera is a Very violin + strong percussion coded character stuff like cypress queen ends up there. tir na nog is also there for similar reason but i want to note that it is Really not that applicable to her as a song. i mostly just added it because i liked it. but i also really liked the line (the world you left, it forgot your name) in relation to sera and that was good enough for me to add it to the list. in general her musical vibe is foresty tunes but like. Preferably foresty tunes about spite and murder and if theres metal there thatd be cool. so like. thatd be why terrathaw and the quake is there. but also wolves of the revolution but less metal. metal is kind of The Genre I Associate With Her Emotionally like i do think she would listen to this shit. this would be why theres an mgr jumpscare there. but also because i thought itd be funny. but also i will admit that my beloved oc probably listens to angst music which is why the soad jumpscare is there. ive been wanting to draw a mini amv with her to the (i saw her laugh) bit of revenga because yknow. kind of relates to the betrayal if you really fucking stretch it. also because its really cool. its a song that probably fits her The most personality wise. speaking of the betrayal do i have to explain hangman. no. cool. i think the first six are all songs that fit her Story (or just vibe) in one way or another and the last three are ones she'd actually listen to is basically what im getting at. idk this is all over the place. hangman gives me really evocative drosera art ideas for when i have an actual ref for her and i think the second half of the horror and the wild specifically fits her a lot. i like the remember me bits and the mutterings of all your fears bits. also the (you passed your fingers through my hair and called me child. witness me old man i am the wild) feels like a double meaning because it Does kind of evoke that longing for acceptance while also a retaliatory spite against the people she wants it from. yknow. wolves of the revolution just fits her entirely i dont think i need to explain. also!!! krystallomantia is what i very much consider to be what her boss theme would sound like if she had one!!! thank you and goodnight!!

My sketching style is very recognizable so it's 100% my art style but I think it's interesting how things like the shape of the eyelashes, thickness of the eyelashes, underlashes, and how the eyes and rings in the eyes are drawn make my drawings give off a different vibe

Cuz I'm using the same art style for all of these doodles. I tend to draw the eyes of sharper tsurime-eyed meow meow mf charas the same way. I just do the details differently depending on the character

VRoid Studio and MMD Rambles

I don't think I mentioned it here yet but I wanna make VRoid models of my OCs and fave charas eventually so they can be used in MMD so I can make them dance to Vocaloid songs~ It's because I'm really interested in making my ships dance hehe

I'm definitely not distributing my VRoid/MMD models publically though. My mutuals/friends are free to have access to any VRoid/MMD models I make in the future, though <3

I like to have my scans and art stuff under my control and limit access to my stuff, to make sure my things don't get used by unsavoury people, so that it doesn't get reposted around, etc.

Especially with how bad the MysMes fandom's reposting issues are.

And I hate Funa and her fanbase in general cuz they're uncritical af, etc., so there's no way in hell I'm sharing my WATGBS AU MMD models

VRoid Rambles

I watched a bunch of FGO MMD videos (of Douman, Oberon, and Morgan), and now I feel tempted to try my hand at making MMD models for my faves (Selena, Tatsumiya, Idate) in VRoid Studio…

I wanna make 3D models so I can make my faves dance in MMD Selena and IdaTatsu MMDs you will be real someday…

I'd use VRoid Studio because it provides bases for hair and clothing, and I don't feel like using Blender tbh

Also I watched a bunch of VRoid Studio model making tutorial videos, it's way easier than I thought. Most of it is honestly just drawing normally and using preset assets as a guide

Thank god FGO being so big and Douman and Oberon's huge popularity means that people will definitely make MMD models for them

JP fans have already made models of many FGO charas, so I can play around with them. I can make LimGuda and ObeGuda MMDs… It's common practice in the MMD community to credit all the assets you use: Models, Camera, Dance Motions, Stages, Lighting Effects, etc.

I saw JP users say they made 3D models of FGO charas (such as Douman and Oberon) with programs like VRoid Studio or Blender. So it's totally doable

It'd be kinda fun to try making MMD models for my FGO faves in the future too, but not now

Especially with how detailed their designs are (especially Douman's)

Imo Douman is way harder than Idate because of their hair and outfit

I'd have to use the OG Cantarella motions though, Idate, Judar, and Xanxus would not know shit how to play the violin LMFAO

Like for Douman and Kuroha, the violin part would actually still fit, like I could actually still see that for those two, but it just doesn't fit charas like Idate, Judar, and Xanxus

I personally prefer Cantarella fan covers (VOCALOID/UTAU and human fan-covers) over the original due to stronger tuning/mixing

But Cantarella's instrumentals are excellent

The original Cantarella MMD has a dance section. I love the little spin and jump in the air and landing on the ground, I think that fits my faves more

The remastered Cantarella ~grace edition~ has a violin playing part which is aesthetically nice

Of course this is the first thing I post for the ROTTMNT fandom. XD So recently I’ve seen a lot of rise!Usagi concepts show up in the ROTTMNT tag and I wanted to do one of my own. At the time all I knew about Usagi was how he was portrayed in the 2003 TMNT show and all the Rise fanart I’ve been seeing. But then I found out more about his comic origins and saw his interpretation in the 2012 show… Basically my opinion has changed and I personally don’t really vibe with the teenage Rise!Miyamoto concept anymore. No disrespect to anyone who vibes with that concept though it’s just a me thing. I have another concept for Rise!Miyamoto Usagi though that is more accurate to his comic counterpart that you will know more about once I post his ref. But, I still really liked the idea of that teen samurai concept and then I remembered a certain other samurai rabbit that was in the same universe. Yuichi Usagi is from a show on Netflix called Samurai Rabbit : The Usagi Chronicles. He is a descendant of Miyamoto Usagi and let me tell you when I saw the first episode all I could think was, “dang he and Rise!Leo would vibe so much.” Like no joke they actually have so much in common. AND PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE I HAVE SEEN WHO HAS WATCHED THIS SHOW AND IS A FAN OF RISE HAS SAID THE SAME THING SOOOOO… In my Rise!AU his personality and overall backstory isn’t too different from his original show. Except for the fact that instead of being a yokai hunter, he himself is a Yokai. I’ve always wondered about how the Yokai community is in Japan compared to how it is in New York in the show so I was thinking that most likely instead of Yokai there only having a hidden city they basically have an entire hidden country under the entirety of Japan. The only name I can think of at the moment for it is calling it the hidden kingdom. So if you guys have any better names send me an ask. I think I’ll end my ramble about Yuichi here for now. I’ll reveal some more stuff about him in my au in other posts because this is getting too long. If you got questions about this au don’t be afraid to ask!
