craig texts you so often, almost all the time, even if you're in the same room. he'll send you memes that he thinks will make you laugh. and since he has a hard time verbally expressing some of his emotions, he'll text them to you instead of saying them out loud. it's easier for him, he gets to say what he wants to say, and you appreciate that he does try to talk about his feelings with you.

he'll text you if he is upset and needs to vent, or when he just wants to let you know how much he loves you, how pretty he thought you looked today, or about how amazing he thinks you are in general.

he often does this with notes as well. he'll write sweet notes and love letters for you and put them in your bag, your locker, or on your desk. almost every time he goes over to your house, he brings a note to hide somewhere he knows you'll find before he leaves. it always makes your day when you find one.

back to texting, he sends you so many pictures of his hamster, stripe, pictures of him and stripe, videos of stripe, videos of him with stripe. craig thinks of you both as stripe's parents. he calls her your baby and uses her as an excuse to invite you over.

"come over. our baby misses her mom."

he loves how well you get along with stripe. it fills his heart with so much joy when he sees you playing with her, helping to take care of her, and loving her as much as he does. it makes him wanna wife you up fr.

he'll see you kissing stripe and he'll just be like "we should get married."

he does his best to make sure that you never doubt his feelings for you, even when he has a hard time expressing them to you. he never wants to unintentionally make you feel like he might not love you just because it's sometimes difficult for him to show a lot of emotion.

craig will flip off anyone that bothers you in any way. if another guy flirts with you, he'll flip him off. if someone is staring at you, he'll flip them off. if you tell him that you dislike a certain person, he'll flip them off too.

he keeps the same energy when someone insults you as he does when someone insults stripe. he can and will beat a bitch for talking shit, no matter who it is. and after he kicks their ass, he will flip them off every time he sees them from then on.

he's the type of boyfriend to defend you no matter what. he doesn't care what you do to warrant ant kind of verbal or physical violence from anyone, he will not let them touch you.

you guys are definitely the type of couple who will be jokingly mean and sarcastic with each other. he'll tease you, and you'll tease him. it makes you both laugh, and you're both so secure when it comes to how the other feels about you that you never question whether or not the other is actually trying to be mean. you both know that you're just messing around.

you and caig will also jokingly flip each other off occasionally as well and it's so funny when the people around you see this and are like "wtf?".

if you meet his family and can deal with all of them being lowkey aggressive and flipping each other off all the time, then you're with him for life, and he is not letting you go. his family also falls in love with you too, and, after some time, you'll become so close with them that they'll start flipping you off too and expecting you to do the same.

you guys might as well be married at that point, because you are now officially considered part of the family.

he rarely initiates PDA, but he's definitely always holding your hand in public, especially if you're in a large space or in a crowd. he's worried that, if he lets you go, you might wander off, and he'll lose you.

but craig will never reject any kind of affection you show him in public, no matter who's around. he doesn't want to tell you to stop while you're demonstrating how much you love him. kiss him, hug him, love him all you want, everywhere you go.

he's actually so honored that you like to show off the fact that you're dating him in front of other people. it makes him feel so loved and appreciated. he absolutely loves when he notices other guys getting jealous when they see that you're with him. feeds his ego so much.

in general, he has a hard time initiating any physical contact beyond holding your hand or occasionally kissing you on the cheek. he's ridiculously touch starved, however, and he is always craving any kind of touch you'll treat him to. it makes him sooo happy when you initiate physical affection with him. and, the more you do it, the more confident he'll become in initiating it himself.

he can get pretty cuddly in private. he loves to cuddle you at any opportunity he's given. one of his favorite things to do with you is to fall asleep and take a nap with you in his arms, or him in yours. he feels so special when you fall asleep on him, like you trust him so much that you feel safe enough to be in your most vulnerable state with him. it makes him feel appreciated, and it makes him want to protect you, to always make sure you feel safe when you're with him.

craig likes it when you play with his hair almost as much as he likes to play with yours. you are the only person allowed to touch his hair. he likes to brush your hair and try to style it, but he really only knows how to braid. if you leave the braids he makes in your hair he will be sooo happy! especially if it's in front of other people.

he normally hates it when people call him on the phone, but if it's you, he'll stay on call for as long as you want. if you must call him, however, he prefers facetime. it feels more to him like having a conversation in person, which is what he likes more.

he's kinda funny tho, because he hates calls, but he'll send you so many voice messages over text, and he loves it when you send him some back.

he isn't ticklish at all but he thinks it's so funny when you try to tickle him that you'll still get a giggle out of him. he likes to tickle you too, because he loves making you laugh, as well as being able to touch you and be so close to you while doing so. he'll be very sarcastic with you, as well, making jokes and messing with you just to hear your cute laughter.

craig gets jealous pretty easily because, although he might now show it, he's a little insecure. he kind of feels like you're out of his league, and you could easily find another guy who's better at opening up and showing you affection. you have to reassure him a lot because of this, but it's not like you mind most of the time.

occasionally, when he gets upset about anything, he'll have such a difficult time sharing his feelings that he'll bottle them up until he can't anymore. this sometimes results in him lashing out at you. caig is very chill most of the time, however, so this rarely happens.

you kinda have to work, especially at the beginning of the relationship, to take the time to recognize the small subliminal things he does or says when he's sad, angry, or jealous. but, after some time, it gets much easier for him to open up to you.

he has a love/hate relationship with you trying to comfort him. he obviously loves your attention, and appreciates it so much that you care for him and want him to be okay, but he also slightly feels like a burden when you have to take care of him emotionally. especially because he feels like he's not good enough at comforting you to return the favor.

sometimes he doesn't know how to make you feel better when you're upset. he's never really had to comfort anyone before, and he has rarely ever been comforted by anyone else (due to the fact that he doesn't often get upset enough to need comforting), so he's not exactly sure how to go about it.

he does his best, but sometimes he'll accidentally say things that make it worse, and then he has to apologize for them. he often doesn't understand why you get so upset about certain things, so he might be a little insensitive about it by saying that your feelings don't make sense, or that you're being dramatic. in his mind, he's thinking about it logically and feels like, if he can get you to do the same, it'll make you feel better.

it is rare, but there have been times where he's gotten so frustrated while trying to comfort you, either because nothing he was saying was helping or because he kept unintentionally making it worse, that he has raised his voice at you. but craig does his best to recognize when he feels like he's about to lose his cool, and if he does, he'll just leave you alone while you're upset until you both calm down.

craig also has a hard time telling when you're upset, even if you feel like it's obvious. and that sometimes makes you feel like he doesn't care, which isn't true at all. he just doesn't know.

he mainly resorts to just hugging you when you're upset, telling you that he love's you an that everything will be okay. occasionally he'll also hand you stripe hoping that she makes you feel better, because she makes him feel better.

he makes up for everything by being an amazing listener. after a few conversations, he learns how to handle these situations in a more affective way. he has learned to ask you what exactly you need from him. if you want a hug, if you want his opinion/advice, or if you just want him to listen to you while you vent.

he does really love you and want to help you, it just takes some communication for him to learn the best ways for him to help you. craig will truly thrive in a relationship with a partner that is patient and does their best to communicate with him.

You can almost hear the way Megatron is rolling his optics. He should have known that this would be how the general population of humans would react to the reveal of cybertronians. They can't even think two steps further and even consider what this might mean, what the bigger picture is. Well, he can't complain too much. At least now he knows that most of humanity will be fine with being enslaved once he conquers Earth. Besides, Megatron is used to the attention and the adoring fans, he was a popular gladiator once. Unconsciously starts making more poses when he notices a camera from now on (it's his past as a gladiator surfacing).

Soundwave instantly thinks of a hundred different ways to use this to the decepticon's advantage. Other than that he's mostly just amused by the reactions. If he gets caught on camera again he might do something silly like giving the viewers a peace sign or showing a meme on his face screen, just to troll them.

Well of course they adore him, he's Starscream after all! Humans might be lesser beings but even they can recognize his splendor! All of this positive attention really boosts Starscream's ego and he actively goes to the comment sections to read the humans gushing about him.

Knockout LOVES the attention and reading all the comments about how handsome he is and how amazing his paint job is. Finally, people are paying attention to his appearance. Somehow he starts to polish his armor even more, just in case he gets caught on camera again. It wouldn't do to disappoint his fans after all. Totally up for posing with anyone who wants to take a picture (though they are not allowed to touch him with their greasy, oily hands.)

All of this attention and praise makes Breakdown act all bashful. He saw several comments mentioning his "bodacious boobs" and now he can't stop covering his chest with his hands, just because of how aware he is of them now. Will also take a picture with his fans if they ask (he doesn't know how to say no) but acts really awkward about it. Will even do a quick pose if they ask nicely.

Shockwave just straight up don't care, though he is confused by all the requests of people wanting to be stepped on. Humans are odd, nonsensical creatures indeed.

Dreadwing don't really have much of an opinion of humans but he thinks this reaction is better than them panicking. Some day in the future, once the war is won, Earth will become part of decepticon rule and it's a good thing humans seem so willing to accept cybertronians.

Oh, now isn't this amusing? Airachnid will use the adoration of her fans to lure them into the woods and toy with them before ultimately killing them. Maybe she'll allow a few to live and turn them into henchmen. Honestly, she's just gonna be as evil as she's always been.

with regards to the iran/israel situation and literally any other humanitarian situation that's going on right now, I just want to re-iterate some of my stances on current events:

I do not believe in wishing death on anyone. no matter anyone's identity or beliefs, I think that everyone should be entitled to basic human rights. I will NEVER advocate for statements calling for the mass death of civilians of any country, and detest seeing such statements made as jokes. I don't want to see "death to (country)," "burn (country) to the ground," "(country) needs to be nuked," etc. if you make those statements, think about what you're saying. we should not believe ourselves to be entitled to who gets to live or die. that is genocidal rhetoric.

WAR IS NOT ENTERTAINMENT. by that I mean I'm tired of people who have never experienced war treating it like fictional media. it's not strictly good vs. evil, it's not a sports game where you pick your favorite team. people die in war. and of course that seems obvious, but ever since the russian invasion of ukraine, I've seen people online, usually westerners with no connection to either country, treating a global conflict with devastating civilian consequences like fandom. express your support for ukraine by raising awareness for humanitarian causes, supporting ukrainian businesses, or learning about ukrainian culture and history, not making volodymyr zelensky thirst traps, goddammit. (and yes, I remember the volodymyr zelensky thirst traps. those were indeed a thing.) war is not meme fodder and entertainment, especially for those who are fortunate enough to be removed from it.

I do not believe in generalizing entire populations based on the actions of their governments. yes, of course there are civilians that support a government's actions, and there are civilians who oppose them. there are israelis who oppose the actions of the israeli government, russians who oppose the actions of the russian government, americans who oppose the actions of the us government, etc. the minute you generalize all civilians under a certain government as holding the same beliefs, you risk promoting rhetoric that is also used to justify ignorance and bigotry in best-case scenarios, and genocide in worst-case scenarios. people are not monoliths, and treating them as such can lead down a dangerous pipeline of attempting to justify the extermination of entire populations.

just because a government is committing atrocities doesn't mean the governments opposed to it are absolved of atrocities. powerful governments are not generally interested in human rights; they're interested in gaining as much influence and power as possible. ukrainians and palestinians are both suffering, but the international governments that claim to support either group of people are only doing so to support their own self-interests, such as global prominence or economic gain. we should not be cheering for the iranian government just because they oppose the israeli government; the mahsa/jina amini protests happened for a reason.

whenever there's a war, civilians always suffer the most. for those of us removed from war, we're removed from the full extent of this suffering. nowadays, with the rise of social media, we are able to witness atrocities in real time, but seeing videos of mutilated bodies and hearing the testimonies of survivors still doesn't equate to witnessing such atrocities firsthand. I don't believe that we should actively seek out graphic or distressing footage in order to alleviate any feelings of guilt, but we should treat these situations with extreme sensitivity, because we're not the ones experiencing them.

this goes with point #1, which is sort of where all of these points ultimately stem from, but I don't believe the killing of civilians is ever justified. even if one believes the ends justify the means, the lives of those people don't stop mattering.

please, going forward, let's be sensitive, compassionate, and kind. we need to be open to learning about different perspectives, as well as history, culture, and current events. there's already been so much suffering in the world in these last few years alone, and for those of us who are privileged enough to be removed from this sort of suffering, it's our responsibility to do our best not to make it worse than it already is.

On her own? Definitely not. She's definitely kind of a rule follower nerd that only opens an exception to her friends. And that also applies here. She wouldn't smoke a blunt on her own but if her besties asked her if she wanted to hotbox one of their rooms with them she'd say yes if only to make sure none of them fucking die. (Also she feels safer to do so if she's with people she trusts ofc)

Florian

Counting florian as a different character here because he gives me a very different vibe. He's a nerd just like Juliana, but that shaggy bowlcut tells me his mom still cuts his hair and I just know that he still thinks sniffing one of the crack cocaine is going to kill him on the spot. His friends tend to avoid calling him to smoke with them because they know it's going to turn into a lecture.

(I just added him here because I see him as a separate character, but from now on, when I refer to the crater crew I'm talking about Nemona, Arven, Penny and Juliana. :( sorry florian stans)

Nemona

Definitely not. She is the student council president so she definitely snitches on the kids she finds smoking weed and she is too energetic to snort coke. But for her friends? The crater crew? They almost DIED together. They went to this life changing adventure whose whole integrity relies on them keeping their mouths fucking SHUT. She can definitely open an exception for them. Def likes to relax a little bit every now and then so she isn't against a hit or two

Arven

Weed? Yes. Smoke? Hell no. He grew up around too many machines turning off and on and getting broken and fixed to enjoy the feeling of smoke over a good ol edible. He def gets a little emotional when high (he's been getting a lil better with time) but the crater crew still invites him everytime because one, he's their friend. Two, this man is a GODSEND when they all get the munchies. And his edibles? To die for. He would probably enjoy weed in smaller doses, since they help his thoughts quiet down for a little when it gets too much, but he's way too scared of being addicted to do it frequently. He generally avoids having smoke sessions in his room because he's way too scared of mabosstiff sniffing anything that might be harmful to him after All That Happened.

Penny

The one that organizes all of the Crater crew's smoke sessions. Def has a baggie of meth hidden sonewhere in her room that Arven found by accident. Being cassiopeia gives you a lot of contacts like that so she def knows the dealers with the best stuff. Having her overprotective dad also incentivised her to do it even more, actually. Is way too good at rolling up a blunt for anyone to not be concerned when they first see it. Has a sylveon shaped bong in a box under her bed that she still hasn't had the courage to try. It's too cute.

Giacomo

He's still stuck in the 2010's era of memes, so he obviously makes a bunch of jokes involving drugs. Smoke weed everyday. THAT one transparent png of a blunt. You know the classics. But this man hasn't inhaled a puff of MJ in his LIFE. Doesn't know what a bong is. But do you think that stops him from saying he does? No. His friends all know he's joking, but the frequency of it has landed him in the principal's office more than once

Mela

Hates it. Hates the smell and the feel of smoke. But she learned how to because she's the captain of the fire division, so she needs to look cool. Can hold in a puff for 6 whole seconds but hates all of it. Def prefers cigarettes to look cool tho.

He's a rich kid, so he probably can afford good stuff, but he Doesn't know where to get the crack cocaine if you know what I mean. But he hates to admit it. "No no I totally know how acid feels like. I'm cool" he's not. But we all accept him anyways, not doing drugs is cool too, Ortega

In your last ask about Tori being reborn into Naruto, one of the tags mentions the akatsuki being reborn? Do you mind going into that? As in the akatsuki being reborn into different villages after they die?

no, the premise is more like a time travel fic where the time travelers end up in their younger bodies. so the akatsuki are still themselves but now they have.... Future Knowledge(tm). i've been going back and forth a lot on how this would change their decision making processes because obviously some of them could have huge effects on the canon plot. kakuzu, for example, is old enough he could probably prevent any ninja village from being founded in he played his cards right.

some ideas:

i am intrigued by the idea of kakuzu killing hashirama and preventing konoha from ever happening, but also this isn't the story to explore that. instead he decides to fuck off and be a missing-nin earlier, because he doesn't want to fuck with his village any more than he has to

hidan makes zero changes to his life. good job, hidan

sasori still makes himself a puppet, but maybe does it when he's older? like i feel like when i was 16 i was like "yeah, being a teenager forever is a good idea" but as an adult i'm like "but sasori would be so hot if he actually looked 35?" also he might get taller. so i think with the wisdom of age he might wait a bit. i also feel like he might have the motivation/ability to interfere in how the war that killed his parents went (i think it was the second one?) but that's another moving piece i'm still rotating

i haven't decided how this is going to play out in plasticity, but for this AU let's say konan and pein understand zetsu/obito's roles in ruining the world. they preemptively murder obito, oops. depending on how they do this (and how aware minato is of how obito died), it means ame's relationship with konoha could look REAL different. also not 100% sure what i want to do with yahiko/ame in general. still rotating this part

konan and pein's intervention does mean minato & kushina are still alive and kicking. itachi is confused but he's going with this. danzo's still a slimeball but the massacre isn't really on the table anymore. i'm also leaning towards a scenario where itachi is really, really bad at pretending to be A Normal Child and ends up in ANBU even earlier and is confused about why he's unhappy with this

without obito around to brainwash the mizukage, kiri is more stable and kisame is just chugging along there (although he's firmer about turning down some missions--- and good enough no one can really argue with him)

Deidara's origin story in Plasticity is that his family is just some farmers with proto-mouth hands and Iwa is paying them to churn out a bunch of children to see if they can make a new bloodline limit. Some of the gamete donors are likely ninja, but Deidara was born on a farm and not slorped up into the Iwa system never to see his family again until he was Academy age. Post time travel, Deidara remembers family never paid much attention to him, and he has no reason to want to go back to Iwa, so he just runs away at like age 5

The crux of all this is that none of them actually knows the entire akatsuki has time traveled. Like Nagato and Konan obviously know the other one time traveled and everyone is aware this timeline is Different, but it hasn't occurred to anyone to seek out other members and they don't bump into each other organically because they're all in very different parts of the world. Since she's the main character, obviously Tori gets to the catalyst for people running into each and pointing like the spiderman meme

Since Tori doesn't HAVE a family in Ninjaland to be reborn into, she's brought up as an orphan in a ninja clan that unaffiliated with any village. I just like the idea that there's still some of these kicking around. Since she's not a real part of the family, she gets treated like shit and doesn't really get formal ninja training. B U T the family heads are entering Cahoots with Orochimaru and he's like: what's this? Spare orphans???

Orochimaru obviously eventually completely fucks over the family (maybe they have some interesting kekkai genkai/jutsu he just runs off with while their home burns), but Tori knows exactly what to say and how to act to get into his good graces. But ALSO she's acutely aware she's playing a very dangerous game and abandons ship a few years later, preferably in a very dramatic way where she screws over Orochimaru as much as she can.

(Revenge? She's not worried about that. This is only endearing herself to him.)

I'm going back and forth on what her ~abilities~ are, but I want to keep that she has no elemental affinity. I also can't see her as someone whose gut reaction to a situation would be "I can fight my way out of this" even if she's technically been trained to be competent at it. What she DOES have is a new and creative ways to push the field of fuinjutsu forward. Also toyed around with the idea of misappropriating medical jutsu to fuck shit up? she is not a taijutsu specialist but you should not fight her hand-to-hand, oops

Tori is right between Deidara and Itachi in age so I was thinking while she's wandering around as a 12 year old feral ninja or whatever she is, she somehow runs into Deidara? And then something goes EXTREMELY WEIRD and they both end up in Konoha. This Deidara is technically affiliated with Iwa, but he was never one of them and he's obviously a genius, so I think most of Konha leadership would be like :EYES EMOJI: at him? Tori was affiliated with Konoha's scariest missing-nin, so.... that's suspicious, but also something something she's deidara one friend and that kid needs someone else's braincell.

Main MGR cast as parents

This started off as a shitpost but by the end I realize I kind of just made it realistic and probably started venting. Not saying which but some of these are based off real events.

I would like to say "You're fucked." on all of them but that would be cheating so I guess this will be best to worst.

Raiden: He already is a father so that puts him way ahead of everyone else. You probably won't see him around much due to "work". Seems like the kind of guy to feel bad about it and then spoil you when he returns. You don't know why he's so secretive but you grow up thinking that he's a spy.

Samuel: His father was murdered while he was young and he hasn't moved on from it. Would probably keep thinking he's going to fuck everything up and worries about you being able to defend yourself. He trains you the same way his family has done for generations and makes sure that you become a skilled fighter. Would tell constant dad jokes.

Armstrong: You'll rarely ever see him and when you do then it will most likely be your family being together in a televised event. Expect to grow up with many security precautions like needing guards while travelling (should he become president) and you'll probably be expected to try out for collage football. At least he makes the mother of all omletes though.

Mistral: She has extra arms that would be helpful with caring for a baby (feeding, changing, rocking etc.). She killed the guys that murdered her parents so she'll probably kill anyone that tries to get close to you. You don't get to complain about not visiting grandma's like everyone else or she hands you a knife and makes you learn how to stab a swarm of dwarf gekkos.

And we have a tie for worst. Sundowner and Monsoon.

In no particular order

Sundowner: Let's be honest. You were probably adopted because let's face it. Who's going near this man and surviving? He picks you out of the rest because he sees all your anger issues and thinks it will be like having his own mini me around. He will encourage you to fight and get bloody even if it's from something as small as squashing a bug to shanking another child on the school yard with a pencil. It doesn't matter to him. After all kids are cruel and he wants a worthy successor that he can mold.

Monsoon: How the he'll did this guy end up becoming a father? You aren't really sure how you ended up existing but that doesn't really matter. It's a similar situation to Raiden but worse. This guy used to work for the mafia so expect to grow up with body guards so that you aren't kidnapped or killed. He'll take his limbs apart and put body parts in your pocket and then complain about a toddler being afraid of him. "Why are kids so weak?" Will be serious one moment probably disociating and then make a joke about memes. Fails to realized that trauma is also passed down genetically meaning you're pretty much fucked.

for modern AU fics - what chinese media did diaspora consume?

making this post because some of us in the diaspora server were having a chat about what Chinese media "Diaspora Chinese" watched in the 90's - 2000's (and even sooner than that) while not having access to satellite chinese media or streaming services - this is in the context of writing modern AU fics based off Chinese media/novels (so your main character's grandpa or uncle is not, in fact, watching an episode of Friends or Shortland Street or something as flavour text because sorry what the hell-)

We generally watched a lot of stuff on VCDs, including bootlegged and non-bootlegged movies, shows, anime/donghua. My household had a whole VCD album of this, and a lot of VCDs (even if they were pirated editions) would have a fancy hardcover box with a magnetic clasp and some artwork representing the show on it.

All of this is Mandarin - so not TVB stuff, because I'm from Northern China and I don't know any cantonese - but Canto friends, please feel free to add to the list! This is mostly stuff my parents liked to watch, or I liked to watch with them, with the exception of a few which I mainly watched with friends/cousins when I was maybe (in most cases) eleven/twelve years old onwards. This is a pretty personal list, meant to give people general idea of a possible "ballpark" of sorts, and by no means exhaustive.

Huan Zhu Gege 还珠格格 (1998, April-) This is a classic, so many memes come from this show; hugely popular series, basically cemented Zhang Tie Lin's face as the face of the Qing Emperor for about a decade. Tie Chi Tong Ya Ji Xiao Lan 铁齿铜牙纪晓岚 (2002-2010) - I loved this show as a kid and watched all four seasons on repeat with family... The "trio" in this show are well known and loved.

Amazing Detective Di Ren Jie / 神探狄仁杰 (2004) A very popular and addictive show. Ok now the Big Four:

Romance of 3 kingdoms 1994 / 三国演义 (1994) - a classic that has had many remakes, my older cousin would play this on repeat...

My dad loved all the Sun Honglei (孙红雷 - actor name) stuff, iirc it was a lot of MinGuo period espionage stuff, your shanghai 1920's sxc aesthetic. This actor has been around since 1999? Qian Fu （潜伏）was very famous, and Ren Jian Zheng Dao Shi Cang Sang （人间正道是沧桑）。 These were around '08 and '09.

Chuang Guan Dong - 闯关东 (2008) (Baidu link, sorry - couldn't get an EN wikipedia one). This show was huge when it was airing, everyone was watching it. I was pretty young but even I watched it and got invested ... and I thought it was such an "old person" show at the time lmao. Xiao Bing Zhang Ga / 小兵张嘎 （2004） (sorry, again Baidu link) - yo, anti-japanese war movies set between 1937-1945 were crazy popular - this is one of them and was very popular):

喜羊羊与灰太狼 (2005-) Calabash Brothers / 葫芦兄弟 （1986-1987） Black Cat Detective / Hei Mao Jing Zhang 黑猫警长 （1984-2010） Lan Mao Tao Qi 3000 Wen 蓝蓝猫淘气3000问 AKA 蓝猫 (blue cat) (October 1999 - Present) Legend of Ne Zha 哪吒传奇 (2003) Journey to the West/Xi You Ji 西游记 This was truly the Donghua I grew up on from when I was a bb, the OP song and ED song are classic bangers all kids know. Slam Dunk/ 灌篮高手 - People truly watched a lot of anime that may or may not have been terribly dubbed into mando (possibly canto too). Late 80s and 90s kids were all over this, and Dragon Ball, Crayon Shinchan (labixiaoxin).

Taiwanese Dramas:

This is mid-late 2000's, I would be remiss to not talk about the Taiwanese dramas of this era. Mike He, Rainie Yang, Wu Zun (amongst many, many others) were huge. Stuff like Dou Niu Yao Bu Yao, it started with a kiss, Hua Yang Shao Nv (Taiwanese version of Hana Kimi) were all pretty popular. Not sure if these shows all hold up in 2023, but boy were they popular at the time.

Note about CNY:

For CNY, people would try to tune into 春节联欢晚会 (the CCTV official CNY show) at that One Friend Who Had China Satellite TV's house. Zhao Ben Shan / 赵本山 was a comedy staple, and the show would often feature people from the music industry to perform. Eventually these people became more and more relevant to my gen and Jay Chou etc started appearing.

Last but not least Xian Jiaaaan 仙剑:

In 2005 I was all over 仙剑奇侠传 (Chinese Paladin), based off the video game. This show was crazy popular and probably sent me and a whole lot of other kids into Xianxia / Wuxia hell (and Hu Ge hell, and later I came back to love Liu Yifei). Thank you. The OST is a true banger.

Lmao well..... I think you saw my previous ask 😂😭 Any theory that says Asch or Lorelei or some weird Luke-Asch personality hybrid or anyone else people come up with that isn't just Luke who comes back at the end. It's gotta be Luke; the narrative just falls apart if it isn't. The other day when I was answering the previous ask looking for your "theory" post again I saw the take (put very simply here) that Abyss is a tragedy, Luke's character is a tragic one, so it makes sense that he ultimately dies and stays dead, and I'm just like.... how?? Genuinely I don't understand how his character arc can possibly be read as that his entire struggle to change and for life was just completely futile in the end and that there was no meaning to any of it all, that's such a downer ending for what is ultimately, despite how much sad shit happens in it, a hopeful story 😭😭😭 (one of the main themes is LITERALLY CALLED MEANING OF BIRTH).

Even putting that aside though, I just feel like it makes even less sense for Asch to come back?? Like, his character arc finished when he died. The whole point is that he remained stagnant the whole game and his tragedy is that he dies that way, while Luke was willing and able to change!! What purpose would it serve narratively to bring him back after his very sad yet satisfying conclusion?? Again, by all means, it makes for juicy AUs, but as canon.... there's no way.

💛: What is a popular ship you just can’t get behind, and why?

....I feel like I'm putting myself in danger answering this when it's coming from you 😂😭 But, well, I'm really not that interested in Luke/Tear lol. By no means do I hate it though, I just don't have any strong feelings towards it either way, and honestly part of that is just because I'm not really a shipper in general lol and nothing to do with them specifically. A lot of people who don't ship it say it's because they see Tear as more of a sister figure to Luke because that's how the game initially presents her as (and with the "big sister" title or whatever it's called), but idk... I honestly can't decide what I see her as to him. They just feel like very close friends to me by the end of the game, I guess, and although I like some of their touching scenes, I never really felt the chemistry between them. I guess it's just hard for me to imagine Luke in a relationship with everything he's going through during the game, and also Tear is pretty bland to me herself so that doesn't help. 😭 I know her Japanese voice is very different from her English one and her English one gets some flak, so maybe that's to blame ugh; maybe if I listened to her in Japanese sometime I would become more endeared to her.

...If I had to pick another one that isn't just the first answer again lol, though this isn't exactly super unpopular, but Abyss is the best game in the Tales series, by a wide, wide margin. Not only do I believe it to be the best Tales game, but one of the best games of all time period, and one of the best stories of all time. Yes, I said what I said, fight me. And it has absolutely nothing to do with nostalgia; I played Abyss on my 3DS around 2014-2015, probably? in my early 20s, so I don't have any special childhood memories of it, nor was it even my first Tales game (Graces holds a special place in my heart for that). I just... played it, and it left such an incredible impact on me that has yet to be beaten by nearly any other media I've ever experienced. I don't know what it is about it that makes it so powerful, but it's true. Don't get me wrong, plenty of other stories have come very close to making me feel the same way..... but none of them have ever quite reached Abyss level.

So yeah, a lot of people agree Abyss is good.... but I still believe that most don't recognize it for the masterpiece it truly is.

Like I said, I'm really not a shipper lol, but I'm really fond of Guy/Natalia? I just love their scenes together, how respectful and gentlemanly he is towards her, and how her growth is most strongly shown in plenty of her interactions with him; it's so lovely to see. 🥹 and I think about their time spent together post-Eldrant and before the epilogue, them helping each other grieve.... it destroys me so good :' ) they're very sweet together.

I just spent an hour untangling some Radblr drama, so we're talking about anger again.

My credentials: I have no male friends because all of theme got into arguments with me where they thought I was over reacting, hysterical, or mean. Every time I spent about a week or more wracking my brain to find something I did wrong and found nothing.

So, you're feeling heated about something someone said on Tumblr. You feel like you've been wronged or that the person was stupid or cruel. What do you do?

Step 1: Take a deep breath. Nothing productive happens when you are reactionary. You want to act, not react.

Step 2: Did you read this in the kindest possible way? Was it still mean? If yes, then yes, you are right to be upset. If no, perhaps approaching this post/poster in a more generous light will lead to more understanding. Assume they had good intentions and ask questions to clarify what they meant.

Step 3: So they were being mean and you didn't find common ground. You can either choose to engage or disengage with the conversation. If you think you are going to loose your cool and do something you regret, disengage. You don't have to engage with online discourse that makes you uncomfortable. Just log off.

You chose to engage. Let's cover a few things NOT to do.

no slurs. None. Not even if you think they're justified. Slurs are never ever ever ok.

avoid sarcasm. we're online and it can be hard to pick up and it isn't productive.

act like something should be obvious. We're all at different levels here. Some of us don't speak English as a first language. Some of us are new to our sexualities or feminism. It might be obvious to you, but it isn't obvious to others.

You should explain clearly and calmly what you mean. That isn't to say you should never get heated or passionate, but if that passion overwhelms your ability to communicate your point, you need to take a step back. Spite is fun in memes and harmful in discussion.

You should treat questions as attempts to engage, not bad faith. There are obvious exceptions, but, again, being online, it is hard to show genuine confusion/curiosity, especially in heated situations where you might assume hostility.

You should know your audience. There comes a point where you know whether the person you're talking to is the person you are communicating with or if the standers-by are the people you are communicating with. Knowing the person you are debating with is not the person who needs to hear it can help you make better choices.

When to bow out: If at any time you want to let your anger take over, it's time to step out. You've made your points and going further with this person is only going to hurt you more. For me, going in circles with the conversation is what makes me livid, so I know that's where to call it. When you leave, it can be helpful to give a call to action like "do the research for yourself and see what I said is true" or "check out what x person had to say about it if you don't trust me".

Why is this important

There's been a lot of talk about infighting recently. Bad faith readings of what others had to say contributed to a lot of that. When someone says "I meant x", they probably did. Not everyone here is a perfect writer. We don't have editors or beta readers or anyone to tell us that something was unclear or misleading until we post the thing.

Radical Feminism is about women's liberation. Each of us likely have multiple axis of oppression, but we share female. Racism, ablism, and homophobia cannot be tolerated and need to be called out. Men will band together despite their prejudices to demean women and we need to make sure we don't alienate our sisters with slurs so that we can fight back. It doesn't sound fair, but life isn't fair and that's why we need radical feminism, female communities, and to work together.

If someone calls out your bad behavior, carefully consider the criticism. Don't react. Act. I've had to adjust my behavior several times because women I respect and follow made posts, not about me personally, but that did apply to me and I thought carefully and adjusted my behavior.

And you do have a right to prioritize different women in your life, but the moment you exclude any group of women from your liberation efforts, you aren't feminist. Again, prioritize is ok, exclusion is bad. I'm personally prioritizing women in my community because that's all I can handle with my mental health. Even though my efforts aren't focused on women in other countries, I'm not going to make them feel like I don't care about them. Does that make sense? I'm not going to post about how they're dumb for this or that. I'm not going to say they can fend for themselves or that I don't share sisterhood with them. My efforts can only reach so far, by they are my allies. I hope that makes sense.

I get why you're mad.

I really do. Lesbians have faced homophobia from OSA women in Radblr and that is hurtful and frustrating. SSA women are sometimes insensitive or even cruel to straight women (not the same as systematic oppression, but still unproductive and hurtful). The black, indigenous, and brown women on Radblr have faced racism. Women will use ableist slurs and not see that it is completely unacceptable, even if the woman you are arguing with seems bigoted to you. We see a lot of people who claim to be radfem but seem more just gender critical, which muddies things. We see women on here who insist that their man is different. It is all very frustrating.

But it comes back to the post I made about venting. If your discussion with self ided radfems becomes a back and forth vent, that's not productive. Taking actual action is productive. Calling out ableism, homophobia, and racism is productive. Asking for clarification on what seem like incendiary posts is productive. Discussing difference of opinion in respectful ways is productive.

The whole point of radblr is to have a community so we can be productive. We need to put more effort into getting along. It seems unfair, but that's what we have to do in order to make progress.

Quick obligatory disclaimer that there are limits to trying to get along. There is a point where just blocking and moving on is fine. I think we all know this.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.

Whining. She's whining so much. You think she's gonna sit still while people touch her paws and claws? No! Absolutely not! She can't even sit still long enough for someone else to do her hair or makeup most of the time and she LOVES having her hair and fur brushed! She does NOT like her paws being touched!

Well she doesn't care any other time. She's had her paw beans poked by Cassie and Chica a good few times and never bat an eye. As soon as someone is holding clippers though? No touch. Go away. No one can touch her paws ever. No one has ever succeeded in one piece. Not even Cassie! (Lies) No one can touch them ever!

She wriggles around if someone else is holding her and kicks and fusses so fucking much. She will maybe sit still if there are lots of treatos for her, but otherwise it's not happening. She HATES her claws being cut more than her claws being too long. So she says, until her claws are too long again...

With her hand paws, it's generally expected to go much easier than her feet paws and uh... Yeah no that's completely wrong. Roxy is all sad whining, pulling her paws away every two seconds and unlike a regular dog, she has the ability to grab whoever's doing this and forcibly stop them. It often doesn't, so when she gets too agitated and has had enough, she just chomps their arm instead. It always looks really aggressive, but there's no power in the bite. Worst case scenario is it'll feel like she's pinched them or there'll be a little superficial scratch that'll heal in a few days or something. The aggressive show is just to make sure they fucking stop.

Why is she so bad? Well for her hand paws, she loves her claws being long and sharp. Who doesn't want longer, sharper claws? Roxy just wants to be able to cut through metal like butter is that so much to ask?! Her paw pads and claws are also pretty sensitive so it doesn't feel great in terms of sensory stuff either. For her foot paws? They're just more sensitive and after the chew on with her hand paws, she was immediately held down for that and the whole thing just makes her feel super vulnerable. But she can get past all that!

It just also fucking sucks and she hates it! And her paws always feel so weird afterwards and her claws can't cut through ANYTHING right afterwards and she doesn't like it! So don't you dare try and cut her claws! Even if she asked for help with it! Do not! Lmao she's like the "no take. Only throw." meme with her claws sometimes

But also there's another element here. Since this is all presuming she's biological like in Meteors or any other AU like that, there's also the problem of the quick. It's a small blood vessel in the claws of the dog that you have to be very careful about not accidentally cutting when you trim their nails. They bleed a lot when cut, and it probably hurts like a bitch so it's obviously not great to cut those at all.

If anyone cuts the quick on Roxy cause she wouldn't sit still she will never forget it. All the sad and pathetic dog whining is gone now. It's all growls and violence. A yelp is your only warning before she's biting you and means it this time. This is when the light scratches I mentioned start happening, she still doesn't do any real physical damage, but she's giving them the cold shoulder for like a week. Does it hurt a lot? No not really. Feels like she stepped on a Lego or something, she's fine. Just stings a little bit when she walks on it for a few days which sucks and she's gonna let the whole world know about it just you wait lmao it's her new excuse for not doing things and no one's gonna hear the end of it for a few weeks now you mark her words

"But why can't she just do it herself?" Here's the thing. She will never do it herself. Ever. She won't even file the claws down cause that feeling goes straight through her bones. She will put it off forever and ever until the hand is forced, she will NOT do it herself. So they normally get really bad before someone else does it as a last resort.

Thankfully, she doesn't need her claws cutting very often. They wear down on their own with all her running around and clawing at things so it's only if she's been particularly unenergetic that this becomes a problem. Which doesn't really help her get used to it so that's not helping, but hey! She doesn't have to deal with it that often! That's a win, right?

But yeah, trimming Roxy's claws is an exercise in patience, and a test of how many treatos does it take to convince her this is worth it. There's not a snowballs chance in hell they're all getting done at the same time unless she's sick or something and can't fight back very well. She does tell people to stop when she's had enough btw, she just finds she's not listened to unless she non-verbally threatens to snap someone's arm like a twig between her teeth. Works like a charm!

★ HOWEVER, as far as watching your drink at the bar, I can honestly say it depends on how he feels about you.

★ If he doesn't give the slightest care about you, or if he finds you annoying or worthless in some way, he doesn't care what happens to you - but he still would not let anything happen to you in his presence, and he most certainly would not let the criminal get away.

★ I can see him being sick enough to actually allow you to become drugged for his own amusement, but after witnessing that he would make sure to find a way to get their name and write their name in his death note.

★ Afterwards - if Light actually likes you, he would take you home and make sure you're alright. Again, I do think he's pretty fucked up and over time as Kira, as more and more of his humanity is lost, he would kind of be amused by this.

★ However, if Light loved you (where very few people of course fit into this category, and being "loved" by Light really isn't a whole lot) he would be absolutely pissed if somebody tried this. He wouldn't let it slide, of course - consider that person dead. However, Light's toxic in that he would be mad at you for "putting yourself in that situation". He would be even more protective, and constantly remind you of what could have happened, if he wasn't there, and guilt trip you into not going out to bars further.

★ If Light doesn't really care for you, I can see him doing the bare minimum and contacting someone who actually cares about you explaining the situation so they could go and get you. Still, he wouldn't allow a crime to take place so aside from being drugged, you would remain unharmed, and the person who tried to hurt you would die regardless. Either way, you're safe.

Sorry these were a bit short except for Light's! I don't force myself to write a certain amount for each, I kind of just go with the flow. Overall, none of them would let anything happen to you - aside from Light - but you would come out of this unharmed. All are trustworthy because, their differences aside, all abhor crime in some way.

Buckle up, this is gunna be long and a RIDE.

The trick is when it comes to Kumo on the topic of "tempted" (and not that as you said) is there are two sides to this ->

The idea of tempting or the idea of giving into temptation.

Considering the original question doesn't specify which side we're going to, we're going to go with temptations.

And there are a lot of them and if you want to view things like candy, sugar, indulgences, etc - Kumo gives in often and easily.

The thing about it is though, is, that it's entirely riding on an outsider's perspective of Kumo's actions and if someone like, say Kaze, were to just let Kumo be and react to situations for a week however he so pleases and then judged him on how he reacted over that week -> through an outsider's lens it would appear that Kumo caves to temptations at nearly every turn.

But we're not going from an outsider's perspective. We're going from Kumo's perspective and that is an entirely different situation. This is also why the boys clash so often because the outsider's perspective simply doesn't know / understand why Kumo is doing what he's doing.

In Kumo's mind, he almost never caves to temptations and when you look at the world from his eyes - he's right.

It's taken over two years - real time - for Kumo to dance in front of Kaze (dance in general) totally carefree and to just move, DESPITE the fact, his body tingles and his skin prickles whenever he hears the sound of any form of tune. Kumo hears sound with his entire body but he hasn't combusted yet with his overwhelming full body urge to just move. And when he wanted to sing, he removed himself from what he assumed was Kaze's earshot because he did not want to nor did he feel comfortable doing so in front of the man. He made himself smaller instead of just caving to the urge and singing regardless of whether or not anyone could hear him.

He resists the urge to just flip himself upside down more often than not because he knows it annoys his Other to no end when he does so and he hasn't taken to the sky to just go exist inside a cloud for thirty minutes because of a previous threat to shoot him down if he flew ahead.

Kumo needs to be in the air to breathe properly but yet he has remained mostly grounded due to his extreme fear of angering Kaze. And I do mean extreme.

In Kumo's mind, he doesn't act outside of the boundaries that have been set for him, to the point of even denying his own needs to an extent, if only to keep the peace.

An Outsider's perspective would lead them to tell you that Kumo is a spoiled child that gets whatever he wants, whines and cries to achieve that and lives of sugar and candy that sleeps all the time.

Kumo's perspective would tell you, he is a terrified abuse survivor who is slowly dying due to a curse that is killing him little bits at a time so he sleeps as much as possible because he's running out of energy, who only eats what sugar they can afford and deemed acceptable despite needing it to literally function, drinks half the water he needs because of lack of storage issues, and only cries when his emotions become too much and he can no longer control them. The emotions only come out when the bottle holding them cracks.

An Outsider's perspective would tell you "Spoiled Royal."

And Kumo would even resist the temptation then to tell that person to go fuck themselves because spoiled is the last thing he's ever been. Those two words rub him raw enough to make him bleed but he won't say that either because causing confrontation is improper and he has an aversion to fighting and yelling so he avoids them at all costs.

How often and easily does Kumo give into temptation? He doesn't.

And I say this for a multitude of reasons but mostly that when Kumo "gives into temptation" for something, he's not giving in at all actually. He's been given permission to do something, so he is acting on that permission.

As a prime example, in Kumo's mind, his relationship to Kaze (not with. TO) functions solely around the sentence "I obey you." Because that is how he feels about that man at its root core. He loves him. He cares about him and one might think that his vision is being deluded by his feelings towards Rorahm, but Kumo told himself to come to terms with the fact that Rorahm was dead many months ago.

He no longer sees Kaze as that man. He sees the essence of Rorahm the person as dead but the name Rorahm remains as simply a name and that is why Pilvi and Seejvariil will still use it. But at the core of it, that's where Kumo's mind sets "I obey you." so he would never dare defy someone like Kaze - someone he holds extreme fear in even if "giving into temptation" is doing something is literally a basic need for his survival.

And he's been like this his entire life so whether Kaze is aware of it or not, Kumo was built with a foundation that tells his mind to obey before all else and that includes giving into any form of temptation that could be for his own benefit. Even at seven, Kumo would ask his teachers "Could we maybe color?" instead of just simply coloring as a seven year old should.

Even as a child, he was asking for permission before he did something and that includes: coloring, singing, dancing, drawing, painting, napping, cuddling, eating his favorite foods or really anything at all.

Kumo doesn't give into temptation because he defaults to permission before all else. Even in a relationship type context, Kumo didn't even haul off and kiss Kain. His brain absolutely thought 'I would like to kiss him' but instead of just doing so - Kumo proceeded to ask Kain "Would it perhaps be acceptable if I kissed you?"

Kumo is obsessed with the concept of consent and he means that by way of his own AND everyone else's. He does not just do things to do them. He will check to make sure he's not inconveniencing anyone by doing something. Even if that thing is a nap. He will tell someone he is going to take a nap before he does so. He will also tell that person they can wake him for any reason if they require him even if sleep for him right now is literally life saving.

Kumo's body has become a shattered broken mess of spreading soul scars because he won't fall to temptations of any kind for any reason. He will not prioritize himself for anything and his childhood had a lot to do with it. His current day issues also are what's causing this because having events like:

the 12 years of torture and abuse of all kinds in Gaudium,

Kaze's use of aggressive force, degrading language and dismissive attitude (using his body to intimidate, putting Orthrus flush to his neck to intimidate, back handing him with Orthrus for breaking eye contact, " you foolish boy"/ "spoiled royal" / "spoiled brat", calling him a liar when kumo said he loved him, telling kumo he needed to throw away his love because he was a sword, and an all around lack of general care or concern for Kumo's well being),

and the recent recapture by Anarchy

has only worked to solidify his belief that he needs to inconvenience those around him as little possible and that his existence and needs are things that can inconvenience others.

He doesn't function for material gain either. Ever. He didn't haul off and just go buy the Makea Meloni. No, he begged Kaze for it. (He asked for permission) Even with his goals to take the throne and become King of Wonderland aren't for material gain. He's literally doing this to heal the pain and turmoil in Wonderland to starve out Chaos - therefore weakening their enemy so they can stand in the face of it without causing so much death and destruction.

He's literally aiming for that seat, not for material gain or power. He's a Misterican Royal - they serve their people, not the other way around - so he's doing it to enlist himself into service of the people of Wonderland and therefore the Universe and he won't just declare himself King, even though the seat is currently empty. He is working to get Wonderland's approval before he does so.

Because at the end of everything, no matter what the situation is - Kumo operations on permission before all else.

The water is wet so the answer is yes. He teases you even before you get together with him. It's how he flirts, you have to excuse a few of his eccentricities. Most of his teasing is lighthearted at best and really, he's just finding excuses to get smacked by you. And hey, any attention is good attention as long as you're not really mad about it.

Yeah, he might humour your crocodile tears but not without something prodding and teasing first. You brought this upon yourself. The moment you start bringing the waterworks to him, you have set yourself up at the expense of his mockery. He will do it, but don't even think you'll escape without a jab or two.

Though, if it's something truly serious or really trivial, he won't mind doing it. He actually likes doing things for you, which doesn't say a lot because that's how he shows he cares for the people he's around. However, he's in the habit of doing things even before you can ask for it, so in general, you don't have to ask for a lot from him.

Oh, you know, this and that. He's not against the idea but he's never ready to properly entertain it. When it comes, it comes. He will just have to deal with it then. Otherwise, he's not too big on the idea of falling head over heel for somebody. It just sounds like a lot of complications for someone in his position.

If it was before Sinu's departure, he has no reservation about love at all. Not with it but not against it. The time after that up until Jake's release from prison, however, it's a hard no from him. He won't get involved with anyone while he's this neck-deep in danger.

Afterwards... he's a smidge more open to the idea, but only really open if he has liked you from before the whole ordeal. It's not like he has time to get to know new people now, so that's the case with the highest percentage of working.

Yes. Most definitely. He might develop a tiny crush that he barely acknowledges before the two of you are friends. But if you never get past the stage of acquaintance, that feeling goes away before it can even become anything. He needs to know you and trust you before he can have proper romantic feelings for you.

...Yesn't. How does one say this... he does want the best for you. This means staying in school, studying properly, and maybe getting a degree if you're inclined. And if possible, maybe stay away from all of the crew business. It's enough that he's in this, you shouldn't have to deal with it, too. He just wants you to have a normal, proper life.

But if you think otherwise, he's not going to stop you from it. He's not the father of you, he wants to keep you safe but he's not going to dictate your choice. Just know that he worries... a lot.

Deadass. Probably just say it out of the blue to mess with you. Seeing you flounder and fluster after hearing it from him warms his heart immensely. All the smacking afterwards is totally worth it, too. He already knows he loves you a long time ago, vocalizing it is nothing scary for him.

Uuh, that maybe one day you get enough of his bullshit and leave him. But probably not as much as the idea of something happening to you, all because of his actions. He probably can't cope with it then, because he'll always live with the mindset that he could've done something to prevent all of this but he failed.

Why do KH and FF7 fans hate Nomura so much?

This isn't new to me, but I'm just thinking about how there are people in both the Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy 7 fandoms that love to say that Nomura retcons everything and have decided he's an unreliable narrator.

First of all, way for them to show just how much they actually love his stories.

Second of all, I know exactly why "retcon" is their favorite word to use. Because Nomura - at least in the case of Kingdom Hearts - has an exact story to tell for that series, and he's telling it how he wants it. This is the man who put off releasing Kingdom Hearts 3 for so long because he wanted to include Toy Story. But for some reason, some people don't seem to have the comprehension skills needed to understand everything that goes on in Kingdom Hearts, and so they hide behind their "retcon" argument so they won't look stupid.

The reason I'm bringing this up is because I saw someone share a screenshot of a YouTube comment saying that as far as Final Fantasy 7 goes, only the og game counts, as literally everything that followed it is just a "Nomura retcon". For some reason, they don't want to include anything in the 7 Compilation as part of the game's canon, even though they all are.

"For some reason". Yeah, I know what that reason is. In Kingdom Hearts' case, it's because the way Nomura is telling it is challenging their assumption that it's a generic Disney style Hero's Journey, where the self-insert hero saves the world no problem so he can have the equally self-insert princess as a reward. This is also why people wanted Kingdom Hearts to have ended with Kingdom Hearts 2. And in Final Fantasy 7's case, it's simply because the rest of the Compilation doesn't have Cloud and Aerith together. Not that they were together in og, but you get my point. This is what it all boils down to for both fandoms. They're angry that Sokai and Clerith aren't canon, so they use arguments like "This was a retcon!" to make themselves feel better, because they deluded themselves into believing they're smarter than the creators.

And they have the gall to say Sorikus are delusional, or say anyone who isn't a Clerith is delusional.

Yeah, I made this meme just for this post, 'cause I'm a meme queen. Yeah, these three characters are the mortal enemies of these people because as the meme says, they're getting in the way of Sokai and Clerith, as well as confusing people with their very presence. I mean, think of all the people who keep trying to say that Riku's story is "over", despite the fact that he's the one who's currently searching for Sora, who's in another dimension. I didn't realize that searching for the series' protagonist was just unimportant filler. But we all know that if Kairi was searching for Sora, they'd hype that shit up. And of course, the people trying to insist that Zack is just an unimportant character with a "small" role in og that suddenly has a prequel, a remaster of said prequel, and a presence in the Remake trilogy. Or the people who try every single day to think of how to make Tifa out to be the "true" villain of Final Fantasy 7.

They hate these characters because of shipping. End of story. And that ties in with their "retcon" arguments because again: they're challenging their perception of how these stories are being told, so they're throwing fits and claiming that Nomura (and Nojima, in FF7's case) is just telling these stories "wrong". Who are they to tell the CREATORS that they're telling their stories wrong? How would they know any better?
