YANYAN had rarely indulged in a drink nowadays. With everything going around with the mainland fae & their king, she didn't want to even have a hint of alcohol in her bloodstream, unless she was on her own or in a well known company - like the company of Dusk court's emissary, & her good friend, lady Aurora. She had invited the younger fae for a drink in her chambers, preparing an assortment of sweet pastries, fruits & various drinks - alcoholic & non.

for one, she's craving gin tonight.

do be cautious, don't overdrink - who knows what weird thing might yet happen by the end of day, a voice echoed in her head, a quiet growl of her drake a sombre warning to not let her guard down, not until all the malicious fae are out on their wicked way back to whence they came from. Yaner no longer viewed all of the fae to be... rigorously unwelcome, but it also didn't mean she'd like them to stay here forever.

"It's quite fragrant. I think it's been spiced with pine needles & a dash of mint... & there is something else..." she trailed off, sniffing at the clear liquid in her crystal glass. "Is that lavender? Tastes rather good, I have to admit. Do you want to try it?" she offered the bottle to Aurora.

Romantic. It was romantic. That was what Warren had been repeating to himself like a mantra the past few weeks since he'd decided to make a move to some beach town in Oregon. A man who so rarely budged on so much, had made significant moves. The only peace he gave himself was that he let it happen naturally once he was here. He'd settle into his new job, start to get to know the town. He didn't believe in fate, but this once he felt like they would run into each other when the time was right. Having that moment come as he walked out of the coffee shop, and was face to face with Aurora, he felt an unfamiliar rush of anxiety wash over him. A small extendable bag from the Magic Neep tucked under her arm. Sade scrunched her grocery list in the palm of her hand, shoving it hastily into her pocket. Her eyes scanning the shop windows as she walked, looking out for a small toy to buy Jasper. She never liked going back to see him empty-handed. Even if was a small sweet. Something about how his face lit up made her world spin.

Something clicked, he had been previously eyeing up a small bundle of light up marbles in Zonkos just a few days ago. But she would have to check them, wary incase they were in some way a prank marble. Sade reckoned he was still a bit young for that.

Turning on her heel to head towards Zonkos. Sade gasped as she slammed into a passerby on the street. In her own world, she had almost knocked Aurora over.

"Oh! I'm so sorry." Sade exclaimed, steadying the other woman with her free hand. "Are you alright?"

"If you were any louder about it, the dead could use it against you." He polished off his first drink just in time for the bartender to arrive and for him to request a second as well. More olives this time, handsome. It was a shameless bit of flirting, that he didn't expect to go anywhere. Still, it was prudent to stay in the good graces of whoever was serving the drinks. "Role?" He laughed, tipping his head back as he thought. The idea of it appealed to the theater kid in him. "George Downes ala My Best Friend's Wedding, maybe. With a stronger baritone. But yes, I was born here, left -" he shrugged as if those years were nothing. "I'm resocialized now."

"Don't do that?!" Aurora's hybrid gasp-and-laugh carried through the club, claiming mock offence at the brutal honesty of his words. "Don't use my crisis against me." Honestly, on a different day in some other setting, when she felt more like herself, that would've made her hit the bottom of her spiral. But, him not seeming even remotely concerned that he might hurt her feelings was weirdly...refreshing and sent a shock through the system? Poor little Aurora was a narrative she'd grown too accustomed to, she'd be the first to admit it. "Nicholas," she nodded. "–Sounds like a plan. So given that my role here is clearly depressingly tragic, what about you? Are you local in Merrock?"

I just gotta ask if there were any other candidates for what kind of creature was gonna rise from the lava and make something go from bad to worse or if it was always centipedes?? Because Lava Centipedes are in fact a new flavor of horrifying to me.

YANYAN NEVER THOUGHT SHE'D PRANCE ABOUT THE SUMMER COURT'S CAPITAL & YET HERE SHE WAS, traipsing about as if she had no better things to do with her time. Alright, well, lately she had had very few duties. The Prythian king was gone & done for, their False deity imprisoned ( as she should've been centuries ago ) & everything around them turning randy-dandy in their celebrations of the Grand Victory. Though, given how the fae were still trapped in Summer was not the kind of grand victory as everyone had portrayed the battle to have been. She had still despised the face she - like everyone else, really - was not fighting alongside her High lord, but it was a doomsday party reserved solely for the High lieges - & it had irked her.

Erinya had been irked, as well.

But, alas, who was she to complain? The battle was over & done & they could all, finally, enjoy a well deserved breather. & thus, Liu Yan had found herself sitting in a secluded booth of an aquatic-named bar in Adriata's centre, scowling & frowning at her very tall glass of gin - waiting for her auburn haired companion to arrive. It's been a while since she had had a long chat - a leisurely, careless chat - with her dearest friend. The wrinkles on her expression smoothed as the aforementioned friend finally arrived & the commander of Dusk smiled, dark gaze setting upon Aurora.

"I didn't think it'd be this crowded in here. Lucky I arrived earlier than planned, but Erinya wanted to go for a flight & I didn't see the point in going back to our suite." Yanyan spoke as her friend approached. "You look as radiant as always, dear Aurora."

I was trying to familiarize myself with some of the ghouls from previous eras so I made some notes for future reference. I think it could be useful to anyone else too, especially new fans, so I included all the ghouls and I thought I’d share it here <3

Anthony smiled at the mention of Aurora making up a package for his mother. His mother would bound to love that, she was perhaps only forming her love for astrology but a parcel and a one on one lesson with Aurora Sinistra was bound to earn him some brownie points. "She would love that, although you would soon hate to see her coming, it would become a full Abbott family affair after a while."

"Company, it is." Anthony smiled reassuringly, he figured that if it was after shop had gotten robbed. There could have been a sense of unease. "Nothing spectacular, I reckon the quieter things are the better." Certainly in this political climate. "What about you?"

"I can definitely put together a package for her," Aurora said warmly, genuinely pleased to hear that others shared her passion for the stars. Telescopes, star charts, this was her world, and she was more than happy to share it. "Actually, I could even throw in a night under the stars with me. I could give her a little lesson on how to chart everything properly," she offered.

She paused, considering his offer to help. There was a part of her that didn’t want to spend the afternoon alone. "I could use the company," she admitted with a soft smile. Magic could take care of most of the work, but the company was far more valuable. "Anything new happening in your life?"

To say Aurora was nervous would have been an understatement. She had to pick pocket a few people to be able to eat, and that particular skill is not her strongest. Causing a distraction and escaping was easy, but reaching into someone's pocket or purse without them noticing was a bit difficult.

Now, here she was, on a busy street in the middle of a farmers market, trying to see who was best to take from. Finding a target, a person standing at a booth full of different fruits, she squeezed her way through the crowd. She knew the fundamentals of the skill, be nonchalant, don't stand out, but she could never quite get it down. Looking over the different fruits, she slowly reached into the person's jacket pocket, jumping when they turned around and grabbed her wrist.

"Hey! Let go!" Aurora yelled, trying to tug her hand out of their grasp as she looked for a distraction.

He likes to dig up flower beds and spend hours just mooning over my neighbor's cat. He loves to eat, always seems to know when I'm cold or upset. She rolled her candle between her hands as she spoke. "An Australian shephard, huh? I've heard they're pretty high energy. Very smart."

"Adorable." She could've said a one-eyed, three legged pug for all Aurora cared; if it fell under the umbrella of 'animal', she'd love it all the same. "Tarot's such a cute name, what's he like?" she smiled, kneeling down to pick up her go-to candle for January – red apple wreath. "I have an Australian shephard. Rolo, because well, he's the colour of one," she laughed dryly. "Love Tarot though, wish I thought of that."
