Relistening to Mission to Zyxx and it’s just as dumb as I remember god bless. I’m always and forever a sucker for an absurdist improvised serial adventure podcast. I will never change. Half-way though season 3 right now and felt like drawing the crew.

Definitely used @snuffysbox’s animated pitch designs as a sort of jumping-off point — they’re so soild and I’m a huge fan of her work.

#my art #mission to zyxx #pleck decksetter #kor balevore #c-53 #dar mtz #aj-2884 #this is a shoutout to you 318 one of the best and my favorite episodes #not a depiction of any scene directly i don't think but you get the vibes #i was listening to it and I pictured this composition with kor reaching out through the portal and i thought that would be cool #but I also thought I needed to at least attempt more dramatic coloring and lighting and shading than I usually do #this thing kicked my butt #also my ipad's butt #i was not done messing with it but the thing crashed like 3 times and screwed up the original file with all the layers #sooooo that's super cool #i have not tried anything this complex before so it took a stupid amount of hours #because i was trying to figure out so much as I went along #it definitely should not have taken as long as it did but hey we learned things!#for example: i learned how to do the color burn layer on the shadows to spice them up. never done that before #update: i fixed the file yayy

Mr. Robot-Man. Protocol and diplomatic relations droid. Thinks he is the most smart and normal but has just as many issues and eccentricities as his friends/coworkers. AI cube that inhabits different frames, gives no shits about his body being destroyed. AI used to be housed in a boat and he had a homoerotic relationship with the boat's captain. At one point he gets stuck in a human body and thinks he doesn't need to sleep bc he's a robot not a person. He's an asshole and it's great.
