Game Mechanics: Paraiso VI [Online]

There are five online games in Paraiso, but it is divided between simulation, and the Academics. When buying your first personal headset, you are given the three 'offline games' and allowed to pick two 'online games'. Those games are one of these six, and if you did not like what you picked for a very small price of 10 dollars, you can go get it replaced. Headsets for public consumption, however, has all the games from the start, although you do have to pick your two when you get a registered account. It's part of the promotion and bulk deal the Paraiso Company made with the internet cafes who they do business with.

More on that later.

Idle Simulations are those games that were really, really popular for a little while, I think? The games where you can earn in-game money/ level for a certain amount of time without playing? This is that, but VR, and you can't actually earn much without playing. Also you actually have to do things instead of just point and clicking. Okay, so maybe the comparison isn't perfect but it's fineeeee. It's similar enough. Let's move on.

There's a retail game, a guarding game, a trading game, and a farming game.

These four functionally have the same concept, though details may vary. They are games that mimic possible jobs, and you can either directly apply in their apps or through walking around HD. This becomes your main in-game income automatically, and the games are simple enough that even children can play the games.

There are four levels available; Commoners(1-50), Rich(51-200), Nobles(201-450) and Royalty(450-1000). Every time you upgrade a level, so does your Job Title and description. There are three jobs each for every simulator game, and all of them can be learned on the job. Some are more popular than others cough retail cough.

Opening your chosen game leads you to a lobby like room, with other players around you. You will be holding your paperwork you can't actually read, and waiting around. An NPC will approach you, and lead you around the room: there is one Guild per job except for one that I'll elaborate on later, so that's 11. Guilds protect you and your clients, and make sure that you and other players won't be overtaking each other jobs.

Now. Before we get into it, I want to say it clearly: the Paraiso are very clear about gathering your data. There are multiple legal stuff they told you when buying the game, which they repeat on the headset instructions, and when you open these games specifically. They do it again here, before you sign a contract with a guild to get a job. (You can always, always refuse, they promise legally that the only data mined is from the simulation games)(;3)

This is because these idle games take your avatar, your game play, and even your way of talking to fuel AI versions of you that could be used as NPC. Because here is the truth: when I mentioned the NPC has scarily realistic AI? It's because they are realistic. The other NPC you've met are actors paid to be read by AI, so they will have a foundation to develop. Yes, this is a nightmare scenario. Yes, thsi will come into play in the plot. I have plans, because Paraiso Company is more than meets the eye.

But that's for later!

Back to the idle games. With these games you are the NPC. Players from other idle games, other locations, or just other ciites/town/villages in general can and will interact with you to buy your wares, or ask for help, or just other normal people things that involve jobs yes? You have shifts, and positions, and coworkers.
