The thing is that the most interesting and novel invention of the MCU is a universe where billions of people turned into dust and then were physically reconstituted on the spot five years later, in a world that had just barely adapted to their absence.

That is wild. That is intense! That is a series of pathos-ridden emotionally complex doorstoppers waiting to happen. Half the entire world! All dead! And somehow we coped with that! And now we have to cope with them all being back?

A whole street of empty houses--surely not everyone there became ash. Some of them moved to better places, now opened by the mass mortality. Some of them died afterward. Who will live there now? Even if inheritances are reversed by resurrection, surely leases aren't renewed. What the fuck happens to everyone who remarried?

What happens to the children snapped back to a world where their parents didn't survive, or the reverse?

But they had to then hastily smooth over this utterly batshit sci-fi premise and get the world mostly back to normal working order as rapidly as possible, without too much emphasis on how literally every person in existence has been placed in a mason jar by a narcissist and shaken twice in five years.

So they could get on with more superhero whack-blam business, which is customarily done against a background of Normality.

This is, tragically, the most Comics thing these movies have ever done.

It is beyond satire that they did this immediately before and during a worldwide pandemic that everyone was pressured to smooth over and 'return to normal' about within 2 years if not sooner.

So there you are, number one employee at your company, team lead, bringing in more profit by yourself than the rest of the employees combined and everyone knows it. And then one day, against the advice of all the other team leads, the CEO violates a safety measure, and yeah, people start dying.

Everyone knows it's the CEO's fault. Everyone knows how to fix it. But the CEO does nothing, digs his head in the sand, and pretends like shit is normal. And people are dying.

So you, young hotshot that you are, call an all hands meeting and get a specialist to explain what the problem is. It's easily solved, but it will cost money, and that money is going to have to come from the CEO.

The CEO throws a shitfit. He doesn't want to solve the problem. He doesn't want to admit under overwhelming evidence that it's his fault. But he agrees to do so under one condition--he's not paying to fix it--you are. He's taking your bonus and you can get fucked. As it turns out, the CEO, whose entire pile of wealth has come directly from your hard work, thinks you fucking suck.

Not a single one of your colleagues protests on your behalf, probably because they know that if they speak up, he'll just take their bonuses, too.

So what do you do? Do you continue working for Mr. "idc if my employees die as long as I get mine?" Do you quit? Do you take the wealth you've accumulated working for this guy and go home? Do you stab the worst boss you've ever had in front of every other employee at the company?

cr... criminals are civilians, though. even if you want to argue that not a single person outside of the targeted buildings ever inhaled so much as a teaspoon of the grey (lol), the people targeted... are still civilians. chross and margot's gangs are not engaged in hostilities against piltover. random low-level goons and factory workers in Shimmer plants are not engaged in hostilities against piltover. given that piltover never bothered giving zaun its independence, these people are not just civilians, they are citizens of piltover. selling drugs or engaging in a gang turf war does not make you not a civilian. you don't stop being a civilian just because you committed a crime.

Dude, I have to get this off my chest. Some people get way too comfortable in the shifting community because they would treat people who have already shifted as a sort of shifting wikipidia. Look, we can't tell you how to shift only, YOU know the answer, I can't stress this enough, and the shifting journey is personal. i'm beyond convinced that if they wanted to make mileven endgame, they wouldn't have gotten them together in s1. they would've drawn out their will-they-won't-they relationship up until s5, with their confession being the culmination of the entire series, the relationship between the main boy and the main girl acting as the core of the show. but they didn't. they got them together lightning-fast, before any other endgame couple, and then spent s3 and s4 dismantling their romance to the point where a lot of viewers are vehemently against them remaining a couple.

the only possible "happy ending" for mileven — returning to their early seasons relationship, a weak parody of themselves, now burdened by their conflicts and inability to communicate and connect with each other. this is not how you set up an endgame couple. this is not how you write a satisfying romantic plot. if the goal was to make us root for mileven, the writers have failed spectacularly.
