So anyway, about the critics and the audience score...

One thing that really bugs me about certain fandoms now (specifically the Spiderverse fandom at the moment) is that it's downright impossible to like certain characters around *those* fans.

Like, I can't say ONE good thing about Miguel's characterization without hearing about how Miguel fans are horny weirdos who condone abuse.

Sure, a lot of Miguel fans are horny as all hell, but liking a character =/= thinking they are perfect and can do no wrong. Hell, even *understanding* a character's motives doesn't even mean we're condoning it.

Yeah, Miguel was 100% wrong for chokeslamming Miles into a train. But, at the same time, I could understand getting pissed and freaking out about one (1) kid who's about to cause the multiversal apocalypse via messed up trolley problem. I can understand feeling like no one else is taking the situation seriously, and that you have to do everything yourself because you can't even rely on more than 4 people in your strike force of probably millions. I, too, would get mad at a hardheaded teenager who seems ready to make the same mistake I made that cost me my family.

I can, at the same time, understand being young and scared, trying to prevent a family member's death, not knowing who to trust, and running for my life because there's not a single person in the multiverse who seems willing to honestly help.

That's the beauty of not being trapped in the narrative: you can simultaneously see and appreciate *every* character's perspective, because all those perspectives influence the characters' actions and the story as a whole. I don't *have* to condone a character's actions to like them or their role in the story.

And it would DEFINITELY make the fandom space less insufferable to contribute to if half the fans weren't so obsessed with being perfectly moral angels who only support cinnamon rolls who can do no wrong. But that just me, I guess.

Unpopular (maybe?) Mean Girls opinion: Cady should have broken up with Aaron and dated Regina.

Okay, first of all, albeit I doubt this was Reneé Rapp’s intention (or maybe it was; nobody knows the mysterious ways of the Lesbian goddesses) the lyrics of ‘Not my Fault’ sound suspiciously like Regina is stating that she’s going to downright steal Cady from Aaron (“You came with her but she might leave with me”; “Kiss a blonde, kiss a friend”; “You gotta pay for what I get for free”, ect.)

I’ve seen a lot of fanfics depict Janis and Regina. While I don’t disagree, I feel like Janis sits more as a childhood crush than a love interest in the movie. Also, both are suitable candidates for a Friends-to-Enemies-to-Lovers but Cady just feels better, you know? Like they spent this whole time secretly fighting each other, and in the end they both drop the guy they’re fighting over and ride off into the sunset as Gay icons. (Because Cady gives off bisexual energy and Regina is literally irradiating Lesbian power)

Additionally, in the new movie, Cady’s only personality trait is that she’s in love with Aaron. This could give her more character depth- moving in from what is essentially a hyper fixation for someone she has, to be honest, better chemistry with. Mind you, I love the movie to death, but that is one thing.

(Also as a member of Gen Z shut up the outfits are fabulous, and be quiet to my friend who says Reneé Rapp ruined the movie, your face ruined the movie, I am a lesbian and that is totally objective)

As someone who has never interacted with The Witcher source material, the TV show is actually quite good in my opinion.

Yeah, some parts of season two were a little bit boring and I'm devastated that Cavill left, but I completely understand why.

TV opinions are subjective, especially when source material comes into play I understand that much.

But because I've never read the books or played the games, it just seems like a cool fantasy show with interesting characters and monsters. I'm a visual person, I'd rather watch a movie or TV show adaptation than read the book itself -- and I know that's a very unpopular opinion, but it's just how my brain works.

There came a point where I'd stop talking about certain things because all my friends found them terrible and I actually really enjoyed them.

So if you ever find yourself in a position where you're loving something that everyone else finds terrible, it really doesn't matter. It's what makes YOU happy. And that's all that matters :)

I have seen so many Wish rewrites and fan animations along with comments that normally say “Petition for fans to rewrite/reanimate the movie” and honestly just saying it isn’t actually gonna make that happen.

If fans want other fans who are more skilled in animation and writing to redo the movie they need people to ACTUALLY start working on that, like get people together, get people to commit. And if anyone’s worried about copyright laws they’re not that hard to bypass if you know how to traverse them correctly, all you have to do is change ONE thing and it won’t be copyright. Need to change the title? Easy change it to something like “Wishes” or one suggested name in a comment on a fan animation was “Wish Granted”. Also character design can be changed, for the names you can change one letter or the pronunciation. Personally I’d love to work on something like this if it actually became a thing, I’m not very skilled in animation but I would definitely contribute to writing and/or give feedback and ideas

Point being if you want something done you actually need to put in the work so it can be accomplished
