Cassell Elementary’s Special Sports Day!
One of my favorite days of the year! Cassell hosts an annual "special sports day," where Mr. Markel invites students from the cluster programs at Mt. Greenwood, Keller and (this year) Clissold to play, work on sports skills and celebrate the hard work of our wonderful kids who have special needs. The graduating Cassell 8th Graders jumped in to help organize and everyone had a great time. Mr. Markel shared that this was the 10th Annual Special Sports Day. It was a little bittersweet for me this year because Cindy Henry, who was the brains and heart behind this celebration at it's inception, passed away this spring and I want to acknowledge her contribution to friendship, good will and happiness for our kids.
