During Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, a significant portion of his funding came from super PACs and corporate donors. Super PACs, or “independent expenditure-only political committees,” can raise unlimited funds from individuals, corporations, and other entities to advocate for or against political candidates, provided they do not coordinate directly with the campaigns.
Key Super PACs Supporting Trump:
• Make America Great Again Inc. (MAGA Inc.): Established in September 2022, MAGA Inc. served as a primary super PAC supporting Trump’s campaign. It received substantial contributions from prominent donors, including billionaire Timothy Mellon, who donated $50 million in May 2024 and an additional $50 million in July 2024. Other notable contributors included Diane Hendricks ($10 million) and Howard Lutnick and Paul Singer, each donating $5 million.
• Preserve America PAC: This super PAC was revived in 2024 by Miriam Adelson, following the death of her husband, Sheldon Adelson. Miriam Adelson made multiple contributions totaling $95 million between July and September 2024. Preserve America PAC was active in producing advertisements targeting Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, especially in key swing states.
• America PAC: Founded by Elon Musk, America PAC spent approximately $200 million to support Trump’s re-election efforts. The super PAC focused on mobilizing low-propensity and first-time voters, significantly impacting turnout in crucial battleground states.
Corporate Contributions:
While direct corporate contributions to individual campaigns are prohibited, corporations can donate to super PACs. In the 2024 election cycle, several major corporations and CEOs contributed to pro-Trump super PACs and inauguration funds. Notably, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, was among those who made significant donations to support Trump’s inauguration and future presidential library, contributing to the $150 million raised for the inauguration.
Overall Impact:
The infusion of funds from super PACs and corporate donors played a pivotal role in bolstering Trump’s 2024 campaign, enabling extensive advertising, outreach, and mobilization efforts. This financial support underscores the significant influence of wealthy individuals and corporations in shaping modern U.S. electoral politics.

Are You What You Buy?
During this time of upheaval of our governmental systems in which the checks & balances don’t seem so balanced anymore, I’ve seen on social media that many are bailing on “products” that originate (or at least give revenue to) some big corporations: Apple, Meta Platforms, UnitedHealth Group, Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, and Tesla to name some of the biggies. According to Investopedia (yes, there…

There's a phenomenon I've noticed in fandom I'm going to call "Canon is mean to my blorbo" wherein fans of ongoing or serial media become really attached to one or a group of characters and build up in their minds an idea of how their story is going to go, but when the story doesn't end up going in that direction, regardless of how well the direction it actually takes was built up along the way, these fans will insist it was done out of malice or disregard towards their faves, rather than simply being a logical continuation or addition to the story that simply wasn't how they would have liked it to go.

This is pretty misleading. 1. Crow gave money to GOP members of the committee for their campaigns over their entire careers. Not "just now." Not illegal and not surprising. No more a bribe than usual. They're not the only members of the committee, though.
2. The committee has not shut down anything permanently. They've been temporarily stymied by a bunch of bullshit added to the subpoena request by the GOP members. It's the holidays and Congress doesn't work much between now and the New Year.
3. This is a 10 year long investigation. It's not going anywhere. Do keep on top of it though.
Even friendly sources use propaganda, which is what this is. Pay attention.
Somebody call the cops

asmaa is a 19-year-old student of computer engineering from gaza who dreamed of making a difference through work as a computer engineer after the conclusion of her schooling. however, her dreams have been disrupted by the war and bombardment, and her and her family desperately need our help!!!
asmaa's home was destroyed and her father lost his means of livelihood. she is trying to raise $50,000 ($5,000 for each of her family members) so that they can escape gaza and rebuild their lives, including the continuation of asmaa's education.

Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump have proposed several initiatives that could impact the wealth of lower and middle-class Americans:
Implementation of Tariffs: Trump's administration has imposed tariffs on various imported goods, aiming to protect domestic industries. However, these tariffs have led to increased prices for everyday items, disproportionately affecting lower and middle-income consumers. For instance, tariffs on washing machines resulted in higher costs for American shoppers, outweighing the economic benefits for local workers.
WSJ.COM
Simplification of the Tax Code: Musk and Trump have considered overhauling the U.S. tax system, potentially moving towards a flat tax. While this could simplify filing, it might also eliminate deductions that benefit low and middle-income families, potentially increasing their tax burdens.
ECONOMICTIMES.INDIATIMES.COM
Reduction of Federal Spending: Appointed by Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk aims to cut federal spending by up to $2 trillion. Proposed measures include reducing the federal workforce and eliminating certain government programs. Such cuts could lead to job losses and reduced services that many lower and middle-class individuals rely on.
FINANCE.YAHOO.COM
Dismantling of Foreign Aid Programs: Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency have been involved in dismantling USAID, affecting numerous health and development programs worldwide. Critics argue that while reform is necessary, abrupt shutdowns can have harmful impacts on aid-dependent regions and may also affect global stability, indirectly impacting the U.S. economy and its citizens.
NEWYORKER.COM
These initiatives, while aimed at economic efficiency and protectionism, carry potential risks for lower and middle-class Americans, including higher consumer prices, increased tax burdens, job losses, and reduced access to essential services.
Elimination of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB): Elon Musk has advocated for dismantling the CFPB, an agency established to protect consumers from unfair financial practices. Abolishing the CFPB could expose consumers to predatory lending and financial scams, disproportionately affecting lower and middle-income individuals.
DEMOCRATS-FINANCIALSERVICES.HOUSE.GOV
Proposed Cuts to Social Programs: The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Musk, has proposed significant reductions in federal spending, including cuts to social programs like Medicaid and SNAP. These programs provide essential support to low-income families, and reducing their funding could lead to decreased access to healthcare and nutrition assistance.
FORBES.COM
Potential Impact of Immigration Policies: Trump's stringent immigration policies, including mass deportations, could lead to labor shortages in industries such as agriculture and construction, potentially driving up costs for goods and services. These increased costs may be passed on to consumers, affecting lower and middle-class households.

we are making this post in the hopes that it reaches someone able to afford to donate to these families. we have been contacted by numerous Palestinians fundraising for evaluation and/or basic necessities. we donate when we are able, but the small amount we can give is simply not enough. please consider sharing with these families. and if you can't, please consider sharing this post. if by us writing this one small donation is made to one of these fundraisers, it will have been a thousand times worth it.

notes: to the best of our knowledge all of this information is accurate- we have done our best to ensure these fundraisers are legitimate and will send money to these Palestinians. the majority (if not all) are also donation protected. we tagged the blog that reached out to us- the majority have multiple blogs due to tumblr shadow banning or outright terminating Palestinian's blogs.
if any of the people that sent us their campaigns and pleas for help see this- we are so, so sorry we can't do more for any of you. we pray this post will reach someone who can.

After quite literally half a decade of feeding into it and perpetuating it, it is so funny to see royal watchers pretend to care about the para-social dynamic or how it's harmful to children.
Don't lie, you all love this shit.

I always feel a little conflicted 'cause while I HATE to erase her from the plot, the age gap also gives me a bit of a weird thing... so when I feel like I want to add Teddy, I do a bit of a thing like: making Andy & Sirius age gap bigger (I like the hc she's 7-8 years older than him, also I saw a hc of her & Bellatrix as twins and- I use this now. It's good.) and making Andy having Tonks a bit younger (like, getting pregnant on the last months of hogwarts were both her & Ted are 18).
Also I have a plot for a modern au one shot (moonwater, btw) that has Remus & Tonks co-parentings and I love this 😭 especially bc they basically "meet again" thanks to Tonks & Teddy.
i knows there’s many people who don’t fuck with remus/tonks and that’s so valid !!
keeping tonks in teddy’s narrative is not at all contingent on them being together<3 this is fanfic, if you want to change their age differences or mess about you can do whatever you want. it’s just intrinsically wrong to me to erase her as teddy’s mother, bc he wouldn’t be teddy without her — both in the sense that it biologically would not be the same person, but he’s also named after her literal dadddddd
your solutions are great examples of how to include her without following canon verbatim 🙏 and if you want a kid where she’s not involved, ocs exist and are suuuuper fun to play around with

And finally, not part of the 12 hour marathon but certainly at the end of the drawing spree, here's Ido with very incredibly rough but present Meridi, a galvan mechanist pirate that let Ido borrow her human mecha's face to use it to hide the fact Ido is a petrosapien :P
And technically! This characters are both the first and final Ben 10 based characters I've used for rp purposes (as in, ttrpg rp purposes where these characters have actual stats), Meridi being one of the firsts and Ido tying with Gali as last. Well I say 'last' as in I've been using the excuse one of my DMs that runs a lot of my games loves crossovers and so I got to be a Ben 10 character while others were more original and specific to the setting- but also it's because sometimes I want to subtly play as something Ben 10 themed and not be BEN TENNYSON HIMSELF *stares at 16 pages of custom character sheet*
ANYWAY! Have these final sketches :)
