welcome to my island!

this is my beloved island, Crescent, which i have worked on for 5 years now. after tearing down and rebuilding everything twice, i finally landed on an old town/medieval fantasy theme, with some inspiration from past animal crossing games. on the left side of the island is a suburban area featuring the town hall, a marketplace, a farm, an orchard, and the museum. the right side of the island is home to a mysterious forest, where our lovely campers get to stay in a cozy campground. (there definitely aren't any witches or wizards or anything like that...)

this island is still a work in progress! i'm close enough to completion where i'm comfortable blogging about it, but i won't be posting the dream code until i fill in some of the emptier areas. for now, enjoy the pictures!

- The 2nd annual Camp Prom is soon approaching! Over the next week send in your outfits for prom and The Counselors will vote on who is prom king/queen! (this can include both ocs and canon characters, send submissions either through the discord or ask box) There will also be polls on the blog for what events we will be hosting next Sunday at prom!

- Mr. D is demanding that everyone is well behaved for this week so that Zeus is more likely to let Ariadne (Mr. D’s Wife) Visit camp. (He’s so pathetic for her)

Hi there! I just stumbled upon your cozy blog thanks to your honest post about Viv. As a writer myself, I can see she has potential and talent yet I can't help but get the vibe that she hasn't grown out of her amateur teen artist phase yet. It is indeed disappointing to see all of those amazing show ideas came from her ol' friends while she gets to earn a lot of money from it.

Basically, her shows felt like a high schooler's attempt to make an adult cartoon and messy concepts of random OCs with whatever backstory or personality she could think of in my eyes. I also agree that other people (myself included) would've wished to be in her place where we have all the money, connections and opportunity to give support to others who've helped us reach our dreams.

I wonder what her parents think when they find out she's being just as problematic as her OCs.

I doubt Viv is gonna get Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss On Ice similar to Disney because those shows don't have the same universal appeal as Mickey Mouse or any of the Disney Princesses. If there were, it'd just be her stans in the audience.

Answering these two asks after 81 years of them fermenting in my ask box because- well I don't even have an excuse. Sorry anons, hope you're still out there in the shadows of my blog and you get to see this

Have a messy art of Levihan and EMA as campers. They're all babies, because demigods are babies

My take on this, under the cut because I wrote more than intended

- Hange, Child of Hephaestus: because, yeah, it's Hange. They are curious, they like building stuff. Plus I can totally see Hange with fire powers.

- Levi, Child of Hades: because Levi is definitely a child of one of the Big Three, he's special, he's powerful. And he reminds me of Nico, all brooding but so soft on the inside and full of trauma. Give these boys a hug. Oh and the fact that Levi's from the underground just really fits.

- Eren, Child of Poseidon: I know, I know, Eren being Eren would probably be a Child of Ares with war and stuff but- I just- listen to me. Poseidon is the god of earthquakes as well. Rumbling, oh yeah. And I know the ocean was more of Armin's dream and all the symbolism, but Eren wanting to go and see the ocean... I don't know, in my mind his Godly parent is Poseidon.

- Armin, Child of Athena: not much to say, Goddess of wisdom and war strategy. Armin's smart, strategic, always got a plan. Alternatively, I've thought of him being a child of Aphrodite, and I don't dislike the idea.

- Mikasa, Child of Athena: I'm kinda lost with her but I like to think she's the other side of the coin. Like, the part of Children of Athena that's pure talent for arms and battles. Because Mikasa is pure talent for battle, but I feel she lacks the aggressiveness of Ares children.

- Erwin, Child of Zeus: yes I know he can be another child of Athena but his confidence, his presence, his leading abilities. Just big Zeus vibes I get from him.

- Mike, Child of.... Well I like him being a child of Apollo like anon suggested, and it fits my headcanon of Mike. But, I feel canon Mike would probably be a Child of Ares.

- Moblit, Child of Apollo: I really like the idea of him being able to heal. Also, he's a talented artist and a ray of sunshine.

- Nanaba, Child of Demeter: I really love what anon suggested. Totally with them on this one.

- Jean, Child of Hermes: I don't really have an explanation. I just feel he would be a son of Hermes. Maybe it's just that Jean feels so incredibly human to me, and children of Hermes do too.

BEHOLD MY PJO/HOO ORIGINAL CHARACTER

This wonderful artwork was done by @justanotherpersonsuniverse they're a wonderful artist and writer whose works I enjoy a ton. If you're into miraculous ladybug, Splatoon, or good art and vibes in general I would guide you towards their blogs.

This is Bellerophon Heimbald, sometimes called Camp Half-Blood's Benchwarmer Hero, but most of their friends just call them Bell

A strong wielder of They/Them pronouns, Bell is a child of Euphrosyne, goddess of mirth, merriment, and joy.

Alright, this post is a little long, so ima make a break here. Bellow this is more stuff about the OC and some semi-relevant rants on greek myth lore

They changed their name to Bellerophon because they were Bell before but wanted a less gender specific full name. Also, Bellerophon is Bell's favorite Greek hero because they really love horses and pegasi, and dream of one day riding on Pegasus, the majestic flying god-horse.

Bell gets super fucking jealous of Reyna.

Bell made the unique decision to declare themselves as a Champion of Hestia, a title and role that notably doesn't exist. Despite this, Bell stubbornly insists on their role as a protector of homes and families. They will insist on being sent on, or sometimes sneak out to go on, quests relating to saving the families of her friends and fellow campers. Such endeavors include, but are not limited to, 'my godly step mom kidnapped my Mom for having too many kids with her husband', 'My Dad keeps sending me bloodstained notes and his fiancé says he hasn't left the house since I left for camp', or 'the Titan Army kidnapped my mortal siblings because I'd been feeding them false info while pretending to spy for them'. Bell will also eventually be accepted as Hestia's Champion and will be sent on quests to solve squabbles between the gods that have really been killing the vibe on Olympus. Things such as 'My husband thinks I'll fall for this shit again so I made a doll to replace him', 'That bitch banged my daughter and I might start a war over it', or 'oh fuck I lost the moon'.

The PJO storyline spans many years and this is only a screenshot of time for Bell's character. They're about 16 in this art, at around the time of The Battle of the Labyrinth book.

Bell's godly parent is not a well known goddess, Euphrosyne is one of the Charities, a trio of goddess siblings who serve as Aphrodite's attendants. The best way I can relate who she is is that she's the daughter of the Titaness of water-meadows, Eurynome, who raised Hephaestus after he was baby-tossed off Olympus by Hera. Her father is of course Zeus, though it might not have been adultery. Hesiod claimed that Eurynome was Zeus's third wife after Metis, who he absorbed, and Themis, who Zeus divorced after birthing at least 2 (possibly 3) sets of triplet goddesses. One set of those triplets was the wrinkly goddesses now known as the fates, who scared their parents so much that Zeus got a divorce and Themis stopped having kids and went to law school or something or other.

In any case, my point is that Bell's demigod powers aren't flashy or destructive like the show's main cast. Bell can innately sense when those around them feel positive emotions, a kind of joy empathy radar. They can also induce and amplify positive feelings in others, though its not effective most of the time. Their only other powers include a slightly dulled sense of pain and a resistance to poisons.

A few years into their story, Bell will end up gaining the blessing of Hestia's hearth fire. This blessing grants Bell several powers that are all defensive due to the nature of Hestia and her flames. Bell's wounds will instantly cauterize in battle and heal faster after the battle is done. Poison has way less effect on Bell, combines with their poison resistance from their demigod powers this essentially makes them immune to all non-divine poisons. Their regular body temp is also increased to around 107°F, making them very popular with the Hypnos kids during winter months. This obviously grants an aspect of fire resistance to Bell, but not immune like Leo, at about the same level as Hephaestus kids.

That spear is their primary weapon, a cross shaped Japanese style spear that Bell found wrapped up in the camp armory. It also happens to have been cursed by the man who forged it and is a very dangerous object.

That leather bracelet is actually a size changing celestial bronze shield in it's smallest size, a small disk of metal attached to the leather arm strap. It was gifted to Bell by their mother Euphrosyne. It was forged by Hephaestus, who was convinced to make the shield by his wife, Aglaia, who is also one of the Charities. Aglaia didn't just do that as a favor for her sister though, but that's not super important.

Yes, Hephaestus got remarried canonically, in both mythology and described in Percy Jackson's Greek Gods.

Bell is the main character of a PJO fanfic story I've been creating with my best friend. Though, while Bell may be the main character of their story, they are ultimately a side character in the PJO/HOO stories. My goal for Bell's story is that that it's written into the sidelines of the story the book tells, this story is the one that happens when Percy is off on his quests, or during the non-summer months when most characters are with their families, or in the gaps of time between books. I'm having a ton of fun developing a story like this, filling in the background of an already great story.

I've been writing and developing Bell's story, as well as a couple other OCs of mine, for about the past 6 months or so and this is the first time its being seen publicly. I've been trying to write a whole book/questline of story before releasing as my current fanfics update one every blue moon and I feel bad about it.

This is only 1 of the 4 Camp Half-blood OCs i have for this story and, even further, only 1 of the 10 OCs I plan to put story focus on throughout my whole plotline. Hyperfixation went crazy.

It's a slow week as we head into Easter and for some of us, relaxing on Spring Break or pushing though that last week before Spring Break. Both of these books look interesting. Which one should I read during my break?

Who am I? INTRODUCTION

Alright, so I've been here for like..half a year now? I actually don't entirely know, but ish 6 months. But I feel like I want to introduce myself. Idk why.

- So. Hi. I'm tohjwcc.. I honestly wanna change it, but I'm scared people won't recognize me if I do so haha. So, I guess I'm stuck with it for a lil while longer. Guess I'm just a "normal" (heck I'm not, I'm weird as f-) teenager...ehm, well, going to highschool after summer. Yasammy/cc/ct nerd, basically.

- My personality is complicated. For any camp cretaceous fan, I can easily describe myself as a softer version of Yaz. I have a strong Yaz side, but another big piece of my personality is just quirky and weird and funny (people say I'm funny.. so I hope they're telling the truth lol). But also, I've been told... SO. MANY. TIMES.... That I'm too nice for my own good. I'm kind and nice to everyone. I can't be mean to anyone. At least not on purpose. That is one thing that separates me and Yaz from being completely identical (personalitywise) (which again isn't entirely true, my quirky and weird side is bigger than my serious/Yaz side. I'm basically the yasammy icon. That quirky side could be referred to as Sammy lol.) But ofc there are other small stuff that also separates us two a little but yeah. (Tbh idk... I haven't really figured myself out yet. Idk what I am like, I just wanna be like Yaz cuz I love her so deeply and I can really relate to her in so many different ways. Idk, maybe I'm just not like her at all. Maybe I just wanna be like her...? Ugh, I don't know, I don't know myself. Dang it. My dream is to be cool. Like my girl Yaz. Okay, enough rambling).

- English is sadly not my first/native language, so any bad grammar or wrong wording could appear, so I apologize for that. I also like to make up new words, so if there's a word you've never heard before, it's probably one of my new creations. Confusion can appear, you've been warned.

- On this blog.. is it a blog? I don't even know. Anyways, on this account thingy I mostly post about camp cretaceous/chaos theory. That is where my main interest is. That leads us to my next.. ugh, me and words. I don't even know what it's called in my language. Paragraph, maybe? Let's go with that. That leads us to my next paragraph.

- Favorite shows. I've got a LOT, but the ones that might appear on this account are probably just Jwct/jwcc and the owl house. There's a chance like stranger things and heartstopper could be joining us too. I know nothing. I could be posting/reblogging random crap as well, so nothing is for sure.

- I started watching camp cretaceous when season 3 had been released. I was in my "Jurassic world era", so I had been watching all the Jurassic world movies (ish), so I guess I just wanted to rewatch some of them again, and then I saw it. "Jurassic world camp cretaceous". I was like "OoO". I began to watch it, and fell in love with it IMMEDIATELY. Also, a funny fun fact, I started watching it when I was 12. And now I'm 15. This means I was as old as the youngest character when I started watching it, and I am NOW as old as the OLDEST characters are in the show. This show has been with me through all my teenage years so far. I'm so greatful for this show and these campers. They helped me through so much, and I could never thank them enough.

-The jwcc character i can relate most to is Yaz. 10000%. Like I said before, she is so me. My friend says I'm a Yaz, and she once said I even looked like Yaz, which is cool, but idk how cuz I'm not a brunette haha. But these are the bestest compliments I've ever gotten.

Shoutout to anyone who even bothers to read this lmao. I might add stuff to this later, who knows.

Camp Announcements:

Due to the mishap with last week's news, we had to take action and ban Damien White from the blog for a week. However, we have decided to allow campers to cycle through and write the news in groups. (Rip Damien...I'll miss you dearly...)

Polling for the prom king / queen will begin on Tuesday! Keep your eyes open!

Cabin inspections are taking place this week! The cleanest cabin is free from camp chores, and gets first dibs on dessert! The cabin inspectors this week are: Holly and Laurel Victor from the Nike Cabin. (Those two will rig it thoughhh)

Satyr Exchange program begins on Sunday! You may see many new satyrs wandering around from all over the world. This is part of a larger, worldwide effort to help demigods from ALL continents. (Welcome to Camp Half-Blood, new satyrs!) (YAY! Hi new satyrs!!)

The game this week will be a Chariot Race! (Didn’t we stop doing that cause it results in more injuries than it’s worth) (Please don’t remind me, I’ll be working overtime…)

Camper Updates:

Terra and Tyson from the Ares Cabin set a new camp record for the obstacle course! They cleared it in just under three minutes!

Katie Gardener and Gale Salo from the Demeter Cabin have successfully revived the Strawberry Fields after the fire incident. Thankfully nobody was hurt. (I will have it be known all of cabin 4 helped revive it!)

Darren from the Hecate Cabin is no longer stuck to the wall of the Big House, after a long and extensive rescue mission from his cabin mates. (We had to remove pieces of drywall from his arms and legs...) (ewww-)

Kei Brooks from the Poseidon Cabin has fully recovered after an underwater combat training session turned into wrestling with a grumpy naiad. Thankfully, the injuries were minor, but that naiad said they'd do it again, which is a little concerning...

Game Winnings:

In an absolute upset, the Blue Team won capture the flag by THREE SECONDS! However, they chose to claim it as a tie, and shared their desserts with the Red Team. (Which was appreciated because the Apollo Cabin was sided with the Red Team this week, and the dessert that night was pecan pie. I would've probably crashed out.) (that was the best pecan pie ever)

Speaking of Apollo Cabin, they hosted a Trickshot Challenge, in which Penelope Hale from the Athena Cabin won with a curving arrow through a flaming ring! She won a set of ten enchanted arrows.

The Hecate and Nike Cabins banded together to win the Chariot Dash competition hosted by Chiron and the Poseidon Cabin.

Dionysus hosted a Board Game night in which the Dionysus Cabin won. (Not saying it was rigged, which would be ridiculous, but I swear I saw my double sixes turn into twos...) (We did nothing of the sort! You just suck at board games. >:p) (it was totally rigged, liar)

Someone enchanted all the Pegasus stalls in the stables, and they are all now completely coated in fruit loop scented bubbles. (Which is an upgrade from their usual smell... Please keep doing this.)

Marlo Quinn from the Demeter Cabin accidentally placed a curse on the Hecate cabin's table, and it will be covered in moss and weird mushrooms for the next week until we can get the Satyr's to fix it. (Oh no, they’re gonna curse us back noww)

Navier Piedmont from the Hephaestus Cabin asks that campers please be on the lookout for a few... dozen mechanical spiders. He's been referring to them as "Skitties" and says they're wearing tiny plumed helmets and are meant to be a security measure. (Athena Cabin, please be safe.) (can I keep one as a pet?) (No)

Apparently a few Aphrodite campers have been spotted playing what appears to be "BINGO" with other campers' relationships and crushes. Apparently Valentina Diaz is two spots away from a BINGO. (Of course they are, sighhh)

Speaking of Aphrodite campers, Valentine Merriweather has started dating that Ares camper mentioned last week. Congrats you two!

"Come on, we… we should go to the hotel. They're not here and, well… I think it's safe to say you won't be meeting them for a good while. But on the good side, we did it! We're in Lisbon. And.. I guess now you can rest easy knowing that yours is probably just.. straight across from here!"

All Sylvester could do was grunt as his friend reassured him. Ever the damn optimist, he thought.

"I.. do suppose you're right. Let's go, I think I need a smoke… Any stores nearby?" he asks, trying to get his mind off the disappointment he felt.

What a depressive way to start the day, he mused to himself. Both of them have been on the road for four days. Four! In a shitty, rusty camper van, just in the off-chance to meet Sylvester's soulmate. Only to be met with a sun too bright rising on an ocean that's too big for its own good.

At least Ainārs is staying ever so cheery, Sylvester thought. It had been a longtime goal of his to see the ocean, so at least he's getting joy out of this.

The bulkier man roughly pats him on the back, grinning, as he speaks: "Oh don't be so down! We've only been looking for what, two, three years? It took my parents seven just to meet!" he offered, eyes shining in the morning sun. It was almost impossible to not scoff at the words, but he knew better than to say anything. No use in arguing either.

"So… cigarettes?" Sylvester brought up again, and Ainārs nodded, but not before slipping in a small tease: "Only if you promise to not empty the pack in a day again-!"

A small shove cut him off, at least, and he backed off, chuckling.

Over the years, it seemed that the silver haired man forgot all about soulmates. His intuition told him to give up, after all. To find happiness elsewhere. Unfortunately for him, all he got is divorce papers thrown in his face and a kid to look after which only served as a sour reminder of the woman who left him for someone with a bigger wallet.

Though now, he considered the parting as nothing short of a miracle. A butterfly effect that seemed to so easily work in his favor, he had to have been dreaming. Sure, he thought Ainārs was insane when proposing to ditch town. To ditch home… But now? He's kicking himself for ever doubting the eccentric man he called his friend.

And so he now stands in his apartment, making dinner. It's become routine by now. Pick up Mārīte from school after work, drive home, make dinner, repeat. Though one glance at the calendar caught his eye. March 25th. So he figured the ball of energy he had the pleasure to call his daughter, deserved a little something something.

"Kid, I'm going to the store, you w-"

"Yes! Where are we going, what do we need and do I need to bring my coat?"

Of course… couldn't even let him finish talking. Typical. That didn't stop the minor grin on his face, however.

"Just the corner store, its a surprise, and yes, young lady, it may be spring, but the weather is tricky this time of year. I don't want you sick."

It was obvious the seven-year-old wanted to bombard him with more questions, but that rarely went her way, so she toddled over to pull on her small boots, as her father helped with her windbreaker. Afterwards, he leisurely, at the dismay of the child, put on his own shoes and coat, not forgetting to check if he brought the wallet and keys.

Luckily, the walk is short. But it's enough to explain his reasoning.

"Back home, there's a tradition that we haven't done in a while due to your mother. Have you noticed our calendars look a little different from the ones at your school? With all the names written underneath the dates?"

He asked, glancing at her. There was a small furrow in her brow as she thought, before nodding as she toddles along.

"Smart girl… And did you notice your name on today's date?"

When met with a thoughtful hum and a nod, he grinned. Just in time for them to reach the doors of the corner store, and he pushed the door open for her.

"Good. Think of today as a birthday for your name. And birthdays entail gifts… so. I'm letting you pick out 3 things, okay? Within reason, of course."

To say the girl's eyes lit up was an understatement, and he had to reflexively grab her by the hood of the windbreaker before she sprinted in the store. Taking the hint, she slowed down, but still eagerly made her way to the candy isle, and her father followed, paying no mind to the customer entering after them.

"And I can have anything?" Mārīte asked, wanting to double check.

"Sure thing. You deserve a treat every once in a while too."

Satisfied, she diligently scanned all the different chocolate bars and candy packages. During this time, Sylvester decided to fill his own shopping basket with various things that were running low. That mainly consisted of a handful of energy drinks and a couple of groceries.

When reaching upwards to take a box of cereal off the top shelf, for a moment, his sleeve slipped. Mentally he cursed himself for still wearing his raggedy old leather jacket around six sizes too big, when the compass caught his eye.

For years, he'd given up on it. Considered it a fluke. He convinced himself he isn't obligated to marry a soulmate, yet alone find it.

But in this instant? It was pointing north. North-! After almost a decade of only seeing the damn thing pointing only east as if it was stuck and broken. He thought he could drop the damn box that very moment.

And in his shock, he failed to notice the stranger nearby who had been watching him, without a thing in their own shopping basket. Their eyes seemingly glued to him.

Before he could start overthinking, Mārīte was back, 3 things in her tiny hands. A chocolate bar and two lollipops. That enough, was to distract him, as he quirked up a brow.

"You sure that's what you want? You could've had two whole bags of candy instead, y'know?"

"I know! But.. Uncle was showing me old photos, and you always had lollipops in your mouth… So.. I wanna share!"

Lollipops… Of course that's what she thought they were. Nevertheless, he ruffled the kid's hair, and put the cereal box in his basket, picking up said basket, hands ever so slightly trembling still.

"Share… I suppose if that's what you really want. Though I'm not too surprised, you're as sweet as sugar!"

The man snorted, making his way to the cash register. Once all had been paid for and bagged, they returned back onto the street, Mārīte already struggling to unwrap the sticky treat, having difficulties to do so without her nails.

That was also when a large, warm hand grabbed onto Sylvester's shoulder, and a new voice spoke up.

"Excuse me, do you have a moment?"

As Sylvester and Mārīte came to a sudden halt, the father turned around, and looked up to meet the stranger's brown eyes. A polite, but somewhat forced, smile came on his mug as he looked over his glasses to meet the ones of the mysterious figure.

"Yes? Can I help you..?"
