Somehow this hurts so much worse in retrospective. When you look at Soma in this chapter and realize just how MUCH he's sacrificed (including the only real friendships he's ever made, his dignity and his real personality, becoming a ruthless captain intent on the survival of his people over everything else) to make sure the Date people living under his reign are going to be safe, sound and cared for, suddenly their sheer desperation here hits so much harder bc what are they going to do without Soma, the one man who's sacrificed everything he could've been and had for their safety for the past two decades? I don't have any anxieties over the Uesugi since they have both Kuroko and Naoe to take Tatsuomi's place in keeping their people safe, but from all we've seen so far, Soma's place in the Date isn't something anyone else could ever cover not only because of the sacrifices he's made, but also because there's simply no fighter ANYWHERE near his level of power to take care of the dangers befalling them
#muse: date soma.#I think out of the 5 grand generals; Soma and Tatsuomi had the worst post-war periods. From the way Naotora and Tsubasa tried to#keep them on good terms; I assume there was /some/ sort of regent taking their place as the new rulers until they grew a bit older#Shishikado also had his mother and younger sister; only Tatsuomi and Soma were of reigning age AND with no family anymore#though at least Tatsuomi had Kuroko and Naoe to back him up and support him so that all the responsibilities won't befall /only/ him#I'd love to know if Soma had anyone of the sort but I kind of doubt it? No one of note was introduced from the Date to make me think he#received any of that sort of help (through brains like Kuroko or brawn like Naoe) so probably all of Date's problems fell on Soma#Also smth I love about these panels is how if you look closely one of the men who was there when Soma was 14 is one of the First#to rush to Musashi to beg him to save Soma w tears in his eyes while /KNEELING/. Dragon King - Chapter 1 (Super abridged plot summary)
Hi, I just finished reading the first chapter of the new book.
You can read it here in english.
It is really long, so here's a compressed version for those who don't wanna read the whole thing.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
After returning from Japan, Lu Mingfei, Caesar and Chu Zihang make an oath to dedicate their lives to dig Herzog's past and prevent him from returning. They call it "Project Pai" based on Caesar's favorite manga series 3X3 Eyes. (Because each one of them would be a pair of eyes, constantly looking for Herzog). Caesar swearing on his father's name meant nothing, he wouldn't use his favorite character's name in vain.
Caesar graduated and passed down the presidency of the Student Union to Lu Mingfei.
Caesar wants to return to Cassell to form an alliance between the Student Union and Lionheart, he invites Chu Zihang but he's unavailable.
The ship of cultists
Chu Zihang went to the Arctic Circle to search for Maria of the Stars, a Nazi German socialite who was the leader of a cult called "The Far North" and is now 130 years old. Herzog was once a member of this cult.
Chu Zihang boards the Yamal. A former sovier icebreaker transformed into a tourist cruise ship. Now it's being rented by the Far North. It is full of wealthy tourists who want to spend Christmas there.
Lu Mingfei asks Zihang on an email if he's going to spend his winter break in Cassell or in Beijing, so he can go with him.
Zihang's health has seriously deteriorated, the Execution Bureau wants him to become a teacher so he won't transform into a Death Servitor in combat.
Zihang enters Maria's room, but instead he finds her great granddaughter Reginleif, a blond girl in her twenties. She's very strong. After a brief fight, she decides to answer his questions.
Maria of the Stars died years ago, Reginleif is the new Saint of The Far North. Herzog left the cult and they were weary of him.
Conspiracies
Zihang is soon captured by Sasha Rybalko, the ship's captain. Sasha is a member of the Russian Special Forces, who infiltrated the ship. He's not aware of the Dragons' existence. He and Zihang become friends. Sasha wants to know more about Reginleif and the ship's leadership.
On Christmas morning, Chu Zihang is ambushed by Olrune and Hervor, Vincent's mercenaries. Vincent claims to be Reginleif's servant. This whole fight is merely a test of strength.
Vincent is clearly the one in charge, he used to be Maria's husband, to make things short, he's evil... Very evil.
The Secret Party is popularly known as "The Abraham Blood Pact".
The Far North used to be called "The Twilight Dogma" and they were members of the Secret Party. EVA says their records are classified, but they used to be followers of Odin.
This obviously sparks Zihang's interest, but his health keeps deteriorating. EVA tries to convince him to go down to the bar and fall for someone or just join the festivities.
Sasha and his men have discovered a draconic entity growing on the ship and taking control of it. It's essentially merging its body with the Yamal and setting course for a strange location.
The cult of Odin worshippers believes in Hyperborea, Odin's land, the gate to the kingdom of god. They sell special tickets to hybrids with unstable blood and promise them a cure for their condition. They're going there.
Sasha flirts with a woman named Cassandra and she's later found dead in his room. Sasha calls Chu Zihang to help him figure out what happened. Cassandra was a spy for the Henkel family, she tried to send them a video through Sasha's unsupervised laptop, in which Vincent tries to sell her one of the special tickets.
As proof of Reginleif's authenticity, she is shot dead in the video, but she comes back to life. (This is a ruse).
Reginleif
Reginleif, Hervor and Olrune are clones of Maria of the Stars. Reginleif pretends to be the real Maria.
Reginleif is a lot like Erii Uesugi in this story. She was artificially conceived from someone with the Black King's genes, she's imprisoned on a ship and constantly tries to escape because she wants to see the outside world.
Reginleif's blood can cure unstable hybrids. She's very valuable to the cult.
Reginleif wants to fall in love. When she was 14 she sneaked into a tourist's room, so the cult decided to give her one week of vacations per year, in which she can join the tourists, party, drink and hook up with the guests.
Reginleif is a lot like Xia Mi, it is later revealed that Vincent gave her recordings of Xia Mi so she could imitate her to manipulate Chu Zihang. Regardless, Reginleif is rebellious, whimsical, loud and confident.
Reginleif makes a deal with Zihang, she gives her information, he gets her out of the ship. She tries to seduce him on multiple occasions to make sure that he'd stick to his word, to little success.
Reginleif is physically punished by Hervor and Olrune for disobeying Vincent's rules. This seems to be a common occurrence.
Worldwide killings
The ship is boarded by the passengers who bought the special tickets. Among them is the main investor, a man who asks to be called "Macallan" like the bottle of whiskey in his hand.
Macallan brought coffins with him, and he wears a plague doctor's mask (the one with a beak).
Macallan claims that, after they reach Hyperborea, the guests who brought the tickets will become the new gods of the world.
Schneider is signing his resignation letter when news of the situation reach him. He rips the page to shreds and starts the successor to the Greenland Mission.
Anjou is visiting Henkel (his old rival in the Secret Party) for information about Cassandra. Both he and Henkel are ambushed by killer drones, but they survive using Time Zero and Henkel's revolvers.
The drones kill dozens of important hybrids all over the world, including multiple members of the school board and Sakurai Nanami.
The cult is essentially killing the "old gods" so they can rule the world after they reach Hyperborea.
The cult hacks the Gattuso's orbital weapon and use it to bomb Chicago and Cassell College. The school is protected with a special Yanling shield.
The Gattusos destroy it before it reaches them in Italy. Caesar stays to reassure his people, then leaves to join Zihang in the Arctic circle. He brings Finger with him.
Lu Mingfei's plane is attacked by a swarm of drones and all contact with him is lost.
Henkel theorizes that Lu Mingfei was Anjou's attempt to create a Dragon King of his own to be used as a weapon.
The old gods
Chu Zihang figures out the situation. Hyperborea is where the Black Emperor Nidhogg's embryo is growing. Macallan doesn't plan to cure the unstable hybrids on the ship, he just brought them as food for Nidhogg.
Maria was infected by Nidhogg's embryo in the 1940s, she had Nidhogg's genes and so does Reginleif.
Macallan makes everyone on the ship demented through a Yanling skill called "Saha World".
Reginleif decides to escape, she loses a fight against her "sisters" Hervor and Olrune, but the monster growing on the ship kills them for her.
The monster is Maria of the Stars, she didn't actually die, she just mutated into a super organism and was trapped by Vincent, she's bringing the ship to feed Vincent and co. to Nidhogg as revenge.
Reginleif frees Maria and tries to escape by helicopter to no avail.
Chu Zihang tries to fight Macallan, who in turn rewinds time. He invites Jörmungandr to join them and she takes control of Zihang's body.
Jörmungandr puts Zihang in a vision of their high school basketball court. She promises to have Xia Mi make him company while his consciousness is imprisoned.
Reginleif fails to escape and decides to come back and free Chu Zihang, she is attacked by the brain-controlled passengers and brought down.
Jörmungandr makes a blood pact with Macallan so they can rule the new world together after killing Nidhogg.
Macallan intends to feed Nidhogg's embryo, then force it to hatch prematurely, kill it and eat the corpse to get his power.
He invites Jörmungandr to kill Reginleif with him, as a symbol of their rejection of "the new gods".
Reginleif cries to Chu Zihang that she likes him and he hears her.
Jörmungandr attacks Macallan instead. She knows that he revealed Fenrir's location to Cassell College and later ate his skeleton. She pushes Reginleif to safety.
Jörmungandr tells Sasha to get Reginleif out of the ship while she stays to fight Macallan, fulfilling Chu Zihang's promise to rescue her.
Macallan reveals that he managed to have a child, a pure-blooded child, which was previously impossible.
Macallan rewinds time again but he's exhausted, Jörmungandr starts to win the fight, but their blood pact prevents it. Macallan feeds her to Nidhogg's embryo.
The new king
Macallan is the Dragon King of Sky and Wind.
He kills Nidhogg's embryo and prepares to consume it, but he's weakened by the fight.
Inside of their shared dream, Jörmungandr gives Chu Zihang control of their body and all of her power, because he's not restricted by the blood pact and therefore he can kill Macallan.
When he asks her how she knows that he will return control to her, she kisses him on the lips as Xia Mi, and tells him that she'll take Xia Mi away from him if he doesn't.
He comes back as a Dragon King, Odin calls him "Chu Zihang, the King of Earth and Mountains."
Macallan theorizes that Jörmungandr planned to give Zihang control from the start, as a way to wait for Macallan to be debilitated by his fight against Nidhogg, but also for more sentimental reasons.
He also says that Jörmungandr was in love with Zihang.
Zihang can still hear and feel Xia Mi cheering him up and patting him on the back.
Chu Zihang sees in Jörmungandr's memories that Macallan is Odin.
Odin offers him to rule the world together, but Zihang only wants revenge.
Their fight is interrupted by Nidhogg's resurrection.
Ragnarok begins. Tsunamis, massive earthquakes and volcano eruptions all trigger at the same time.
The end?
The entire world launches their nuclear weapons towards the Arctic circle, Caesar mentions that humanity just sent their own civilization back to the starting point.
Lu mingfei is in a lifeboat, as soon as a giant tsunami is about to reach him, Lu Mingze slows time down to have some wine with him.
There's not much the little devil can do, he's not omnipotent and he doesn't think he can survive this either.
Nono calls Lu MIngfei through his satellite phone, but seeing the end near, there's not much he can tell her.
He throws the phone on the water and shares a final drink with Lu Mingze.
The giant wave engulfs them.

1. how many fics do you have on ao3?
117 fics. I used Anonymous before, and due to how it works, I’m not including them in my work count.
2. what is your ao3 word count?
277,879.
3. how many fandoms do you write for and what are they?
Currently, the Persona series (main focus is Persona 1 and Persona 5), and ASOUE/Snicket-verse (I’m lumping ATWQ in due to a lack of works written for it). Past fandoms included Final Fantasy XV, Law and Order, Once Upon a Time, and others not worth mentioning here.

4. what are your top five fics by kudos?
Because the top five fics aren’t ASOUE/Snicket-verse works, I won’t link them, but I will explain enough for the general idea to be known.
Monkey Men (Persona 1 and Persona 5), 68 kudos. A work focusing on the characters Masao ‘Mark’ Inaba and Ryuji Sakamoto, who are associated/are compare to monkeys in their perspective games, eventually meet, talk, and bond over well, being monkey men (it makes more sense in context).
Hundred Percent Bitter (Persona 5), 68 kudos (again). A work focusing on two characters, Ryuji Sakamoto and Goro Akechi, talking about love, with a too late realization from one of them that fits the title all too well.
But it Rings, and I Rise (Persona 1 and Persona 5), 68 kudos (again!). Two characters, Naoya Toudou and Sumire Yoshizawa, talk to one around, realizing they have a bit more in common than it initially appear, for they went through a life event that changed them forever.
Egotistical Showoff (Persona 1 and Persona 5), 58 kudos. AU Fic- a P1 character, Hidehiko ‘Brown’ Uesugi, f*cks up the timeline by accidentally meeting Goro Akechi, who was seconds away from doing what canon intended him to do (and be). Comes with voice doppelgangers and fatherhood.
Unfinished (Once Upon a Time), 50 kudos. An unfinished (hehe) fic that is an AU/Canon Divergence where Pinocchio/August Booth decides to stick around to be Emma Swan���s older brother, and things go wild from there with other divergences that don’t reflect/affect this divergence. Much.
5. do you respond to comments? why/why not?
I try make sure to respond to comments! I really appreciate the feedback, because after all, someone took time of their day to read my work, and they enjoy it to where they comment on it!
6. what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
ASOUE/Snicket-verse wise, Recognition. There’s other ASOUE/Snicket-verse stuff that I can call angsty, but Recognition is the angstiest of all. But if I had to pick one fic with the angstiest ending of all my fics, it’s is the mentioned Hundred Percent Bitter Persona 5 fic. Wrote it in mind to be that way, too.
7. do you write crossovers?
The closest I got to writing a crossover is a Law and Order fic title Lose-Lose Situation, which directly takes dialogue from Hiimdaisy's Persona 4 fancomic (a parody comic of the Persona 4 game itself).
8. have you ever gotten hate on a fic?
No. I got a few comments telling me of mistakes I accidentally looked over, but those were well intended and I felt were not made to be hurtful.
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
Nope. I don’t think I’m cut out for it. I think I’m more likely to write a fic where it’s the morning after, all cuddles and mundane couple/domestic things.
10. have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don’t think so. I haven’t check.
11. have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
12. have you ever co-written a fic?
Also a no.
13. what’s your all-time favourite ship?
ASOUE/Snicket-verse wise, AO3 tells me it’s Hector & Captain Widdershins with three works (I love how it’s the platonic relationship that is my favorite ship for this fandom). AO3 also tells me for Persona, it’s a Persona 1 ship: Ayase Yuka/Mayuzumi Yukino (F/F) with three works (Japanese valley girl equivalent and a former delinquent being [eventual] girlfriends is quite the combination).
14. what’s a wip that you want to finish but you don’t think you ever will?
Unfinished is the big one, because I lost a majority of my drive to work on it, which makes the title very fitting (it sucks too, because I have loads of ideas on diverging the fic from OUAT canon more and only a few got into the final product before I stopped writing for it). ASOUE/Snicket-verse wise, the one that fits the closest is something I call, ‘The Chaperone’. I’m currently rewriting it, and it’s a struggle because I’m still debating what of the OG ‘The Chaperone’ fic can work in the rewrite.
15. what are your writing strengths?
*shrugs*. I write the best when writing smaller works, like ficlets and drabbles, but I’m not sure if that truly counts. I think my strength would be plot? I make sure the plot makes sense from start to end for the readers to get hints (if I drop them), and make sure the conclusion feels natural and not coming out of nowhere and underdeveloped.
16. what are your writing weaknesses?
I got many, but the biggest one is to make sure no one is out of character. That meme of ‘he would not f*cking say that’ is in full effect here (unless it’s meant to be a humor/crack fic, then that goes out the window deliberately). I like to think I got better over the years, especially in the Persona fandom.
17. what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?
I say done in small doses with an accessible source that isn’t Google that is trustworthy, it’s good. In my case, I frequently do it with Spanish. My dad is Mexican and thus speaks fluent Spanish, so I go to him for help (asking casually though). I also have old notes from official dictionaries/books use to learn Spanish, but don’t use it unless I can’t ask my dad.
18. what is the first fandom you ever wrote for?
OUAT. They were posted on a sideblog I eventually deleted, and I can’t really recall what they were about (that’s probably for the better). Interesting enough, the first fic to be posted on AO3 is still an OUAT fic: If Found Please Return. It’s my take of an August and Jefferson scene in the episode Hat Trick shown in promotional photos but cut in the final episode.
19. what’s your favourite fic that you have ever written?
ASOUE/Snicket-verse wise, I got Not Quite a True Platonic Declaration of Love, Recognition (linked in question six) and it’s sequel Reunited, and Don't Think I've Forgotten. These fics I put more time and effort than I originally planned, so that’s why they’re here. Recognition holds a special place in comparison to the others, being one I re-read time to time.
Other favorite fics will have to be Monkey Men, for Mark and Ryuji are some of favorite characters of the Persona Series, and a Final Fantasy XV fic I wrote title Best Not To Question It, for it was inspired by a real glitch my sister and I witness when she was playing the game that had us laughing our ass off (and thinking of that memory now, I still get a chuckle from it).
20. who do you tag?
Because I don’t know and have many people to tag who I feel would want to do this, I say anyone who sees this, and wants to do it, do it.

Nobunaga arrived at Kawanakajima to find a warrior bravely leading his army against Orochi’s forces. It was Ma Chao, one of the legendary Five Tiger Generals of Shu. He was attempting to keep the citizens of the area safe, leading them to Zenkōji. However, the Orochi Army was led by Sima Yi. Nobunaga moved to their aid after being urged by Huang Zhong.
At the start of the battle, Sima Zhao will appear in place of Wang Shuang, Wang Yuanji will appear in place of Zhong Hui and Jia Chong will appear in place of Guo Huai. Zhuge Dan will appear in place of Wang Lang, Sima Shi will appear in place of the generic Sima Zhao and Zhang Chunhua will appear in place of Xin Pi. Zhong Hui will appear in place of Niu Jin when he appears alongside Deng Ai as ambush troops inside the Stone Sentinel Maze.
Defeat Sima Yi and guide the peasants to Zenkōji to win the battle.
To unlock Ma Chao, ensure that all peasants reach Zenkōji.
Chapter 3-X: Battle of Xiapi 下邳の戦い
Coalition Army and Lu Xun Army vs. Orochi Army
Allied characters: Nobunaga Oda, Mitsuhide Akechi, Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Kazumasu Takigawa
Third-party characters: Lu Xun

Lu Xun led a resistance unit comprised of Wu soldiers who refused to side with Orochi under any circumstances. Sun Ce defeated him initially at Changban, but Orochi sent out Cao Ren to surround him at Xiapi Castle.
Mitsunari Ishida will replace Guo Jia and Li Dian will replace Xu Shu in this battle.
To unlock Lu Xun, escort him to your main camp and complete the battle with your allies still alive.
Chapter 4-X: Battle of Sishui Gate 汜水関の戦い
Coalition Army vs. Orochi Army
Allied characters: Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Okuni, Zhang Jiao, Hanbei Takenaka

Dong Zhuo served Orochi for one reason and one reason only: gold. Orochi was having gold transported to him “for military funding use”. Hearing of this, Hideyoshi Toyotomi gathered an army to ambush the supply units…
This is one of few stages where the unlockable character is different from the original. This was done to maintain Dong Zhuo’s status as a staunch officer of the Orochi Army (and to account for future appearances in other stories).
Hanbei Takenaka will appear in place of Kanbei Kuroda in this battle. Koshōshō will appear as an additional officer in Dong Zhuo’s main camp. Zhang Ji will appear with the first supply captain and Lu Lingqi will take his place to appear with the second supply captain. Lu Bu will continue to appear with the third supply captain.
In the original version, Dong Zhuo will lose faith in Orochi when his gold doesn’t arrive, but in this version, he will proclaim revenge on the Coalition Army while Koshōshō will become intrigued by them. Defeat Koshōshō and Dong Zhuo to win the battle.
To unlock Koshōshō, defeat all supply captains before they reach Dong Zhuo.
Chapter 5-X: Battle of Nagashino 長篠の戦い
Coalition Army and Takeda-Uesugi Army vs. Orochi Army
Allied characters: Huang Zhong, Guan Ping
Third-party characters: Shingen Takeda, Kenshin Uesugi, Kanetsugu Naoe, Kagekatsu Uesugi
Enemy characters: Cao Pi, Sun Quan, Cao Ren, Zhou Tai, Lianshi, Ding Feng, Li Dian, Motonari Mōri, Takakage Kobayakawa, Yoshitsugu Ōtani, Yue Jin

Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi advanced upon Nagashino, hoping to draw the full attention of the Orochi Army. Their plan worked; Orochi transferred his primary forces from Guandu to Nagashino, leaving Guandu dangerously undermanned.
If Nobunaga were to take advantage of this opportunity and attack Guandu, then a mortal blow could be dealt to Orochi’s ambitions. For this reason, Shingen and Kenshin were prepared to sacrifice themselves. But just as they were prepared to ride to their deaths, help came from an unexpected quarter…
Takakage Kobayakawa will appear with Zhu Huan and Hao Zhao as they attack the Takeda-Uesugi main camp at Nagashino Castle, while Motonari Mōri will appear with Yue Jin and Hiroie Kikkawa as they attack the Tobigasu Garrison. Lianshi and Ding Feng will appear as additional units outside the Orochi Army main camp at Shitaragahara. Li Dian will replace Takatora Tōdō in this battle. Kagekatsu Uesugi will appear with Kanetsugu Naoe when the main cavalry arrives.
During the battle, Cao Ren will be wondering how they can fight if they are prepared to discard their lives to defeat Orochi. To unlock him, rescue Shingen and Kenshin within 5 minutes (originally 2), then defeat him by yourself (preferably while you are escorting the cavalry units to the Maruyama Garrison).
Chapter 6-X: Showdown at Odawara Castle 小田原城決戦 (uses SW2 west map)
Coalition Army vs. Orochi Army
Allied characters: Nobunaga Oda, Huang Zhong, Hideyoshi Toyotomi

Having seized the Orochi Army fortress at Guandu, Nobunaga’s army was riding the crest of a wave. Just at this time, news filtered through of a rebellion against Orochi led by Cao Pi and Mitsunari Ishida at Odawara Castle. The forces of the Orochi Army in Odawara had been severly depleted through the ongoing battle. Nobunaga immediately dispatched a unit to aid the rebellion, thinking that such a golden opportunity should not be overlooked.
Jia Xu will appear among the ambush units in the southern garrison, while Hisahide Matsunaga and Munenori Yagyū will appear among the ambush units in the northern garrison.
Aya can be unlocked in this battle after completing a secret mission, which can be unlocked by defeating Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi after foiling their plans.
See through Sima Yi’s ambush plan by defeating both Yellowbelly and Urutu before they arrive at the northern and southern garrisons. Then see through Zhuge Liang’s empty castle plan by rushing into the central garrison (Mt Ishigaki) alone before your allies do. After defeating Ina and Sun Shangxiang, resume fighting as normal.
After Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi retreat, Aya will appear in an event, explaining that she got lost while she was fleeing the Orochi Army’s attack. She managed to find the Coalition Army and seeing their skill in foiling Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi’s plans, wants to test their skill before she joins them. Defeat Aya in the secret mission and win the battle.
Chapter 7-X: Battle of Kanegasaki 金ヶ崎の戦い
Coalition Army and Honda Army vs. Orochi Army
Allied characters: Huang Zhong, Okuni, Xiaoqiao, Kanbei Kuroda
Third-party characters: Tadakatsu Honda

Clear Chapter 6-X to unlock this stage.
Orochi sent his closest ally, Masamune Date, to the headquarters of the Resistance in Kanegasaki. If Kanegasaki were to fall, it would mean the end of the resistance. In addition, a fatal blunder had been made, leaving Huang Zhong with a very small defense unit…
On the Orochi Army side, Koroku Hachisuka is replaced by another generic officer because why would he be an enemy when he appears as an ally in Chapter 6-X and 8-X? Kojūrō Katakura will appear as an additional officer next to Masamune Date, while Motonari Mōri and Takakage Kobayakawa appear in place of Zhang He and Guo Jia in this battle.
Enemy reinforcements led by Yu Jin, Jia Xu and Zhuge Dan will arrive when the messenger escapes the battlefield or is defeated; in the case of the former, it will provide the Coalition Army with more enemies to defeat so when the allied reinforcements arrive, it doesn’t look like they came for nothing. Kanbei Kuroda will appear in place of Morichika Chōsokabe among the allied reinforcements. Also, the allied reinforcements will arrive two minutes after the messengers escape instead of three minutes.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Tadakatsu Honda. To impress him, guide the messenger to the northeastern garrison as usual. Defeat Lu Bu yourself and allow the messenger to escape. Wait for the allied reinforcements to arrive, then defeat Masamune to win the battle.
An additional condition in the original game was that none of your allies could be defeated, but that condition has been removed in this version.
Chapter 8-X: Battle of Baidi Castle 白帝城の戦い
Coalition Army and Nō Army vs. Orochi Army
Allied characters: Nobunaga Oda, Hanbei Takenaka
Third-party characters: Nō, Cao Cao

Baidi Castle was one of the Orochi Army’s main strongholds. Forced to respond to other uprisings, Orochi had left this castle undermanned. Coordinating with his wife, Lady Nō, who had been freed by Sun Ce, Nobunaga organised a pincer attack on the castle. Just when the castle seemed likely to fall, however, Nobunaga received news that Orochi had sent an enormous force to welcome him…
Hanbei Takenaka is replaced by a generic officer in this battle. Yoshimasa Oka and Morishige Tsuchihashi are replaced by other generic officers because the Saika Renegades should be with Shu.
Orochi will appear in this battle if Chapter 8 has been cleared.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Lu Bu. To impress him, just defeat him without running away from him.

Anonymous said: Kuroko, do you think Tatsuomi would have become the Uesugi captain and a grand general even if it hadn't been for you and Naoe filling in for what he lacks? Most of the other grand generals received their titles because of their personal strength while Tatsuomi had to rely on others' help. You could argue Soma and Shishikado were born with soul colors befitting of their titles, but even Naotora became one of the strongest bushi in Hi no Moto despite having a blue soul.
To even hear such a question feels borderline treasonous despite the fact it’s never been a thought that has ever crossed her mind. Never once has she taken any claim for the reason Tatsuomi is where he is, it is not a thought that has ever come to cross her mind. She frowns at hearing it now., her visible eye narrowing slightly.
“ Are you doubting in his abilities? “ Kuroko inquires in turn, a brow raising sharply at the idea of it. While it was undeniable that Kuroko’s strategies were the best around, the mere idea he was only there because of her and Naoe was appalling.
“ Not all leaders are the same. Unity is the key to Uesugi band. Not overwhelming strength of the individual. This is not any attack on the other generals of course. Their strength is very impressive. But when you want to promote unity and synchronization, it takes a different kind of leader. “ She replies, careful to keep her voice calm and composed as she would in any meeting. “ It’s more important to have people connected to one another, for everyone in the band to know they can lean on one another. He can lean on us just as we can lean on him. One person can make up for what another lacks so when united, there’s no gap. “
What a question. She supposes she hasn’t actually answered the question, merely addressed the remarks. “ I am rather certain you understand my answer given my words, but yes. I do think he would even without Naoe and I. “

You can find all other IkeSen works of mine here or become a Patron of mine! NOTES: I had SO MUCH FUN writing this commission for @tarralin! She wanted an answer to a slight throwaway line from The Measurement of Time--the part where Abbot wrote to have a mage brought to The City, which was never resolved. Well, she wanted a resolution! THIS WONT MAKE MUCH SENSE IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE SERIES.
The crumpled missive that made it on the feet of a bedraggled falcon to their walls called for a mage. Abbot’s clean, curt handwriting made it plain: this was an emergency. It wasn’t typical for their northern brethren to call so desperately for magical aid elsewhere. Doubtless it really was urgent.
Still. They couldn’t spare their best--that was the aide directly to the Southern King. The second in command had a horrific fear of water, so she wouldn’t do. So it fell to their third. With little more than an hour’s time to prepare himself, they boarded the finest they could spare onto their fastest ship and sent it upriver, praying they weren’t too late.

“His highness of the Southern Kingdom sent me.” Vervan Bistei hadn’t suffered through seasickness, foul food, the constant threat of pirates and the damned northern rain just to deal with the guards of the port. He flapped the royal seal at them. “Lord Tirian Kennyo the Youngest called for our aid.”
Both of the guards stared. Finally, Vervan sighed. “He’s also referred to as ‘Abbot’.”
“Oh!” The taller of the two laughed. “Why didn't you just say so?”
“Because it’s rude?” Honestly, what was it with these guards? Vervan tapped his foot impatiently. “Will you let me through?”
“We can’t exactly do that,” the shorter one explained. “The city is sort of on lockdown. I’ll have to get one of the Nine to clear you, so I’ll just get Abbot up here, and hopefully we can get this whole mess sorted out.”
Simple enough. Vervan nodded. “Right. Then I’ll wait right here. It shouldn’t be too long, right?”

Wrong.
They left him waiting in the harbor for the better part of four hours. He nodded off from the bench where they’d let him settle in, and when he awoke it was to a gentle tap on his shoulder. Vervan started, blinking up at the intruder.
“I--oh!”
“I--” Abbot paused and let the mage hastily drop to his knee. “That’s not necessary.”
“Of course it is. Greetings, your highness Lord Tirian Kennyo the Youngest, I am Vervan Bistei. Your brothers sent me with their compliments in return to your letter.”
“I--thank you.” Was the man blushing? He hesitated. “Please get up. I am just a soldier here.”
Vervan jumped to his feet. “Of course. My most sincere apologies.”
“And mine as well. Since I wrote that letter, the situation has, ah… resolved itself.”
Oh. So… “What you mean to say is, you have no further need of me?”
“No.” Abbot was silent a sheepish moment. “No, we had another mage sort of--ah, surprise us with his arrival. Unfortunately my missive was long gone by the time he arrived.”
Vervan did his best to shove down his disappointment. “Of course. I suppose it can’t be helped. No harm, no foul. I should just be on my way, then.”
“Of course. Err, where is the ship you arrived on…?”
What a question! Vervan almost laughed. “Why, none other than the Red Flagship! It’s right--”
Where previously the ship had moored there was now nothing at the dock--just a vast red sail in the dusky distance. Vervan blinked once, twice, three times, doing his best to comprehend what was happening. They’d left him. They’d left him! The bastards! He’d only insulted their cooking once (or twice, frankly, but that second time he’d apologized); how dare they just leave him on this slip of nothing!
“Ah,” Abbot noted thinly. “Apparently they were in a hurry.”
“You don’t say.” Vervan couldn’t bite back his disdain. “It seems I am at your disposal regardless.”
The young lord cast him a long, penetrating look before shrugging. “Well, there is the college here. I suppose we could lodge you there while I send for another ship for you--or would you prefer to go with one of the overland caravans?”
The caravans? Through the dusty desert? Perish the thought! Vervan just shook his head hastily. “No, no, I can wait for another ship.”
“Fair enough. Come along, then. I’ll see what we can do for you.”

The City was miserably cold in the mornings. Vervan hated how the salty spray gathered in thick bands across his windows, how he could see his breath spiraling overhead in the unvarnished rafters of the mage barracks. Down south, the sun greeted him long before he rose. Here, they were lucky to have it at all. He bound himself in thick layers of cloaks and waddled his way to the Nine’s quarters.
Captain Uesugi greeted him with a penetrating stare. “You’re dressed for winter.”
“Captain,” he replied stoically, doing his best not to make a fool of himself before her. She had such a storied lineage--how could he not know of her? “I’m not quite accustomed to the climate. At least it grows warmer soon, aye?”
Her eyebrows lifted. “Our seasons are reversed from the Southern Lands. It hasn’t yet come to winter.”
What? Vervan nearly collapsed. “It gets colder yet?”
“This is balmy. Come. You wanted something to do, yes? We can give you some rounds on the parapets.” And with that, she swept past him, her shoulders bare to the chill. Vervan granted himself five seconds to wonder what god he’d angered before he scuttled after her.
The work they gave him was grinding and manual. Much of it revolved around just walking around the walls and staring out over the ocean and fields, standing out in the rain and sleet, shivering in his layers. How could anyone stand this place? The water crashed like a horrific cacophony against the black cliffs. Its people were drab and lifeless. It was nothing, nothing like the wonderful, colorful, plush life he’d gotten accustomed to in the Southern Lands.
They had him on dock duty in the dead of the damnable night when he met her.
Truth be told, he was barely paying attention. He’d found a dry patch between some pillars and was stuck to it, lighting a little flame to warm his hands when he heard the splash.
“Who is there?” He called.
“No one!” Came a cheery answer.
Someone thought they were being smart with him. Vervan rolled his eyes and extricated himself from the small hole, confronting the woman on the dock’s edge. “By order of the City, these docks are closed come nightfall.”
The woman in the cloak just smiled prettily at him. She had bright eyes like an ocean tide and dark skin, thick ringlets of hair draping around her neck. His first thought was that she didn't belong in this godforsaken place--a lady like her should be someplace civilized, like down south. “I haven’t seen you before. What’s your name?”
“My name?” That took him just off guard. “Err, Vervan. But that really doesn’t matter. You have to leave.”
“Do I?” She shot him a smile and extended her hand, offering him a smooth black stone. “Come on. Throw rocks with me. Are you the one they sent from the south?”
“I--yes, but you can’t be here--”
Finally she peeled back her cloak hood and smiled at him. Jewels dripped from her earlobes, her neck, the trim of her dress. Who was she? Vervan paused, utterly speechless at her beauty. “This could be our little secret.”
“I--” He hesitated once more. Was this a trick? “I’m sorry, my lady, but--”
“It’s alright,” she soothed. “Just ‘Talia’ will do.”
Talia? Talia. Where had he heard that name before--oh!
“Your highness!” Dropping to his knees, Vervan put his forehead to her palm. “I am so sorry, I didn't know--”
“I said ‘just Talia’.” But the queen laughed and touched his head, soft as a feather. “Please. Rise. My mother would have nothing of this thing, and neither will I.”
“I--” Vervan staggered to his feet. He’d never come so close to royalty before. “I apologize. You, certainly, can walk wherever you like.”
Talia shot him a sly wink. “You’d find that Captain Uesugi will disagree, but she’s not here to chastise me now, is she? Come. Would you like to throw a rock with me?”
“I’ll--I’ll decline.”
“Perhaps that’s for the best,” she mused, allowing a laugh only a half second later. “If someone hits my grandfather, it would be best if it were me.”
He didn't know what to say. Tongue-tied and shaken, Vervan hugged back into the shadows of a nearby statue (it featured a man and a woman dancing, the man wearing a uniform of the Nine) and watched her until she left.

The Nine soldier called Sasuke Sarutobi greeted him the next day. “You have a new assignment.”
“Is it outdoors?” Vervan groused. “I hope not.”
Sarutobi shot him a look and offered him the slip of paper instead. “As it happens, yes.”
“Marvelous!” Snatching up the paper, Vervan shook it open with a roll of his eyes. “Shall I stand in the wettest part of the city, perfectly still? Shall the Captain have me walk knee-deep into the blasted surf for eight hours? Shall I clean a rock with a toothpick?”
“Actually,” the other man noted, “It’s a detail assignment. The Queen requested you.”
Vervan dropped the letter from sheer shock.

The job was simple enough: serve as her guard while she took the rounds on the walls. Vanity kept Vervan from wearing all his plain cloaks, so he did his best to disguise his shivering in his best southern wear. The Queen took one look at him and unclasped her own cloak, offering it to him.
“You’re freezing.”
“I refuse. You are too kind, your highness.”
She laughed and offered it to him again. “It won’t do for you to chatter the whole way around the walls. Your clothes are not suited to our weather.”
Reluctantly he took it, clasping it gratefully around his neck. “I haven’t yet gotten used to your climate, it seems.”
“No. Few do.” And she smiled--smiled!--at that. “How do you like it?”
“Well enough.”
Apparently that didn't satisfy her. She shot him a knowing look until he broke down and admitted, “Not very well.”
“I imagine. It grows on you.”
“Perhaps like mold,” Vervan answered before he could stop himself, “Or a particularly potent fungus.”
“Oh! And your sharpness returns! And here I thought you’d shamed yourself once already before me.”
His ears were red and he knew it. “Begging your pardon, your highness. I simply can’t fathom how a lady of breeding and charm likes it here.”
“I told you,” she replied, innocent and sweet. It sent shivers up his arms. “It grows on you.”

She summoned him more often after that. (“Dare I ask why, your highness?” “Talia. And I find your cutting humor refreshing, Vervan.”) Sometimes they huddled in the library as the storms raged outside, salt and wind rattling at the stained glass. Sometimes he followed her on her long walks around the walls or the city streets at night, watching the way she watched everything else.
And it was impossible, after long enough, not to sense her in the things around him. The freezing mornings no longer bothered him. He watched his breath curl in lacy spirals around the rough-hewn ceiling and wondered at the pattern of it. One day he caught himself swinging the window open and inhaling the tang of salt (and he shivered at how barbaric he’d become, hastily shutting it as soon as he could). Finally he went down to the marketplace--which wasn’t as awful as he’d expected--and purchased a set of new clothes for himself better suited to the weather.
“I received word today,” Abbot informed him. “Your ship will come back in springtime. It’s too choppy in the winter to send a boat.”
“Marvelous,” Vervan allowed. “So I shall be here for the whole blasted freeze?”
Abbot shrugged before allowing a small smile. “You get used to it.”
Damn it all, he was getting used to it. The Southern Lands didn't have stars the way they did in The City. He paused in the empty street center on his way home some nights, staring up into the yawning abyss, trying to guess how many pinpricks of multicolored light hung overhead and failing utterly in his estimations. Snow spiraled in over the ocean and he watched the water freeze in thick sheets by the docks, drifts settling along the houses.
“Your highness,” he inquired one day from his place behind the throne, watching the angry winter ocean break against the obsidian cliffs. “Could you answer a question?”
She cast him a smile. “Talia.”
Vervan swallowed hard. “Forgive me, Talia.”
“Indeed. What is your question?”
“What does one get used to, here?”
Her smile faded. At last she rose and reached for him, entwining her fingers in his. “Come with me.”
Together they braved the frigid chill and took the long, winding path to the docks. He warmed her with a simple spell as they pattered alongside the ocean, the planks bucking and swaying underfoot. There--at the very end--she paused and thrust her hand out toward the horizon.
“Yes?” Vervan asked, uncertain what was happening.
“That water,” Talia announced, gravely serious, “connects us to every single piece of land in the world. It takes us to the Trinity Island, where my grandparents fell in love and my city was saved. It takes us to the river that steers us south. It threatens our destruction and brings us life-giving rain and rocked me to sleep every night as a child. In that water is the spirit of everyone I’ve ever loved. It gives and it takes and it transforms, and still, we know nothing of it. Can you say the same of your land?”
Vervan took a step closer to the edge and stared into the inky-dark water, the sheet of ice over top the only barrier between him and it. It simply dipped down, down, down, well past his eyes, well beyond what he could fathom--like the stars uncountable.
“No,” he admitted. “No. My land is known to me.”
The Queen smiled serenely at him. “That is our beloved city, my dear. It is unknowable, and we love it for its mysteries.”

The boat came for him that spring, ferried by the same captain as before. He took one look at Vervan and laughed.
“My, but you look more weathered!”
Vervan could only shrug. “They don’t have lotion like they do in the south here. It’s all for staving off the cold.”
“The bloody north. Well, up you come.” The captain paused to grimace at the City, wrapping his fist tight around the ropes. “I don’t envy your being trapped here. I can’t imagine it was something enjoyable.”
He paused, one foot on the edge of the ship, the other still braced firmly on the docks. What could he say to that? Floundering, Vervan hesitated only a moment longer--
And imagined a world without all those stars.
He backed away from the edge of the boat.
“No, thank you.” And after a pause, he laughed and said, “You sort of learn to love it.”

I’ve mentioned before I have a Record of Ragnarok fanfic, and i already bit the bullet and put out that preface for the Grail War fic, so....here’s the list! ❛ I would still be a captain, threats or not, so I wouldn't have the luxury of moving away to someplace else and leaving my band unattended, no matter what. ❜ Not that he ever planned to. In spite of the tragedies that have led to his ascension to the throne, his people have grown dearest to his heart and he has vowed to remain by their side for as long as life would allow him to, regardless of the world's state of war or peace.
Still... a world rid of the Obsidian Eight and oni alike represents a dream come true & while assuring humankind's safety was the original intent behind his goal, along the way blossomed a second one as well (these days it seems harder than ever to bid Naoe goodbye, to live with the uncertainty that they may meet again in several weeks or months' time, or that they may not receive the chance to reunite ever again).
If they could truly attain such an ideal world, one free of wars and endless slaughter, then... returning home to the mundane yet precious sight of his husband every day, for the rest of time, was certainly the way he would envision a perfect life. And be it as it may, Naotora has always been known to achieve what has long been deemed impossible by the majority. ❛ Which means what I'd need to do is get Tatsuomi to agree to move our bands closer together! I don't know if he'd agree to the Takeda and Uesugi living in the same town, but I think I could at least get him to agree to living in the next town over. Our territories share a border anyway, so we could both move to that area! ❜
It's debatable which sounds more idealistic: the prompt offered or Naotora's twist of it, but he does genuinely believe in it, and his belief shines through the hopeful glint in his eyes. He does also realize that the sheer amount of trouble he speaks of wouldn't be necessary under normal circumstances , as he was never the one expected to move between the two of them, but while Naoe's constant presence in his daily life would make him conclude that his life lacks for nothing, could it really be said that Naoe would be as happy as could be, if kept away from the people he'd spent his entire life with?
Thus, Naotora offers the explanation behind this reputedly absurd (yet feasible! as he would argue) plan of action. ❛ With my title in mind, Naoe would have to be the one to move into my house, but if he chose to do so, he would have to live far away from everything he's accustomed to. I'm sure he'd want to be able to meet up with Tatsuomi, Kuroko, Masaki and the others more often than just a few times a year, and I think this is the best way to go about it. I'd get to see Tatsuomi plenty more too, and it's not as though we'd have anything to lose. ❜
A beat. ❛ Hm. Maybe I should start talking to Tatsuomi about it. Who knows how long it'll take for him to give in this time around. ❜

H-hi everyone
My extremely late addition to the Dragon Raja X Genshin Impact hcs
My excuse for the lateness: I have been busy playing these games. Not the best excuse but I was originally using these crossover posts to procrastinate on actually playing the games.
Anyways I forced myself to write this because its been extremely late

Idk if I'm just insane but these two are a little too similar for my liking
White hair, red eyes, use a sword, speaks poetically, come from a high status, was kicked out of their home, and is a criminal. Maybe I'm looking a little too into it
Anyways, I can see them being friends but not really being close to each other. They met outside a bar while Crux members were getting drunk. Had a nice conversation and parted ways. Honestly, that's how their friendship goes; just random meetings where they talk about everything and nothing. Both of them got stuff to hide and going through a lot of shit, therefore why they're not super close.
Work Acquaintances (temporary)
Chisei Gen & Beidou
This is honestly based on the Captain Chisei’s mission
Chisei asks if he can help out in the Crux for a day and Beidou was like “sure”
(I don't think Chisei is a bad person despite the attempt murder which is why Beidou agreed)
Ends up a billion chores for Crux and its crewmates but doesn't complain about it because he’s away from work and in the waters. But then Yasha tells him that he's needed back asap and he ends up leaving early. No hard feelings tho
He probably got roped into Beidou’s fighting contest and won easily (b4 traveler because I hate powerscaling ppl) and then left immediately afterward.
friends (but like in a family way)
Ruri Kazama & Zhongli
Zhongli just looked at Ruri and adoption papers just flew into his hands qjsjs
They would meet because of the storytellers. Probably having a chat over the stories meaning and but they would get an odd feeling about the other. Like “there's something more to this person” feeling
But regardless they still have their routine of meeting in front of the storyteller and discuss the stories.
Zhongli would begin to trust Ruri and offer to take to him to other places to learn about Liyue. And now he's buying Ruri tea blends. Zhongli would even schedule his day so that he can show Ruri a place.
Poor Ruri is now stuck with an ex-God. Jk He's happy and spends the morning drinking the tea that zhongli got for him.
Enemies (but not really)
Luminous Lu & Hu Tao
They're definitely enemies but not in an “I want to murder you” way but thought of murder the other has happened more than once.
It's started innocently with Hu Tao telling Luminous the wrong direction and turned into an all-out prank war where the Qixing and the Adeptis had to put a stop into it.
With every prank one did, the other tried to outdo them.Hu Tao gave Luminous Jueyun chilis infused popsicles and Luminous would trip wired her office so when she sits down, a bucket of ice water will fall on her. 
More and more people would be affected by these pranks that soon all of Liyue is turned into a battleground for the two. The Qixing, Millelith, Adeptis, Johann Chu and Nono had to collaborate together and get the two to stop.
Close Friends
Erii Uesugi & Ayaka Kamisato
The “Little sister in a noble clan where their older brother is the head of the clan” union.
They would have met because Chisei has a meeting with the Yashiro Commission and took Erii with him. Ayaka would be a little nervous because Erii just pop up without a warning and now she gonna have to play hostess for her. Erii is excited because she gets to go out and so is Ayaka. it's smooth sailing and the two having fun exploring Inazuma.
But once Thoma arrives, Erii will still be happy but also sad. She's a little jealous over the fact that Ayaka has a big friend group and is loved by everyone. But the feeling doesn't last long.
There are two options for how this goes.
Everything turns out good and no instance happens. Erii leaves with Chisei happy that she has a friend and Ayaka & Thoma are sad to see her go.
Or shits hits the wall. While traveling around Inazuma, the trio ends up being ambushed by treasure hoarders. Ayaka and Thoma are hurt and one of the treasure hoarders is trying to grab at Erii. A whole lot of ppl are turning into nothing tonight.
(imagining being a treasure hoarder and thinking you hit gold with two nobles w/o guards and then one of the girls starts saying death and now your homie is turned to dust right in front u)
Anyways, this obviously causes a big deal and Erii is immediately taken back home but the damage is done. No one really knows who cause it besides Ayaka. Thoma and probably Ayato. Ayaka and Thoma argued on how erii did that and if they should get her to help out with the resistance.
Whichever route happens, they'll probably never see erii again 💔.

PART 1, ALTERNATE ENDING
Not gonna lie to you, it was so hard to pick an ending for this. I enjoyed writing the conclusion to this work that I'm sad to see it end. Don't worry, I have many Yandere works I'm still working on!
Because you requested for a second part, I decided to make this a bit of a more hurt/comfort type since I wanted to give you some happiness in this work.

"Your death will surely be my greatest victory," Nobunaga cried, swinging his sword at the monk. "The people would find it heroic how I rescued my bride from the Ikko Ikki's leader―"
"You defiled her!" Kennyo roared, unsheathing his staff. He blocked the rampant parries of the Devil King. "And you think that's love."

"This will be the last time you hold her, Kennyo."
He roared, howling at the pain of the sword. Kennyo fell to the ground, the stab to his shoulder numbing all of his senses as the blade cuts deep into his flesh.
"Perhaps YN would cast you away if I scar your face once again… Oh… How adorable she'd look to you in horror with the new scars I give you," Nobunaga teased, his menacing tone only edging his sword. "Or, I should kill you right here, and your head should be my bride's present…"
"Not so fast, Nobunaga."
A uniform of dark blue came to view, and two twin shining katanas.
"Masamune… Should I consider this a betrayal or a duel?"
"Consider this your loss," Masamune confidently chided.
"Why... Why do you defend a demon One Eyed Dragon?!"
Masamune struggles against Nobunaga's sword, pushing him away and giving distance between them. "Abbot... I'm not defending you. I'm doing this for her," He said, smiling at the man who won his Kitten's heart. "I'll let her be happy with you. Anything, just anything away from the Oda. Now go."
"You'll be in my prayers, Date."
Kennyo hung onto Ranmaru, the swishing of swords and cries of confusion dying down as Ranmaru escorts him away from the battlefield.
Masamune heaves out, taking a large blow to his chest as the Devil King of the Sixth Heaven holds a sword to his neck.
"How would you like to lose the other eye for treason, Date Masamune?"
SHING
"Apologies Lord Nobunaga."
"You owe me one, Masamune."
Ieyasu and Mitsunari raised their swords at Nobunaga, blocking the oncoming attack from reaching Masamune's neck.
"Oi, Date Dragon, don't fall just yet…" Keiji said, holding onto Masamune, with Kojuro trying to stop the bleeding from Masamune's armour.
"I won't Keiji… Not until I see her happy…" He said, passing out from the fight.

"Kennyo!" You were frightened by the red stains on his kimono as Ranmaru brought him in from the battlefield. Before you confronted Kennyo, Sasuke bowed to you, joining up with his group.
"YN, I'm glad we meet again but I must go on with Kenshin's plan."
You bowed to both Sasuke and Ranmaru, appreciating their help.
You tried to wrap and dress his wound as quickly as you could, salvaging any amount of salve you could. Kennyo winced in pain, enduring it for now.
After dressing his wound, you couldn't stop shaking. He was weak at the moment, barely opening his eyes. You could feel his hand reach out to yours, and you brought it to your cheek.
"YN… I'm sorry I couldn't protect you…" He said, trembling under the thought of the battle.
"He… He did this to you…" You whispered, frightened of the thought of Nobunaga and the terror he brought on to the battlefield.
Kennyo tapped your palm once again, bringing you to listen to him. "The Date Dragon saved me, YN… For that I am grateful…" He coughed, pressing his hand down on his chest. You quickly cleaned up any saliva that seeped out, begging him to take rest.
Enough was enough, you thought.
You couldn’t afford anyone else to be hurt.
Be it your friends in the Oda; Masamune, Hideyoshi, Ieyasu…
Or be it your friends you met through Kennyo; Kenshin, Ranmaru, Yukimura…
You couldn't.
Not for your selfish reasons.
Once Kennyo had passed out, you kissed his temple, whispering your affections and apologies.
"My love… I'm sorry… Live for me, won't you?"

You ordered one of the guards to carry you on horseback as swiftly as the horse could to the battlefield. You clutched the napkin carefully, your eyes searching for the warlords.
Without hesitation, you jumped off the horse, running up to where Ieyasu and Mitsunari were holding off Nobunaga.
Ripping off your hood, you revealed yourself to the warlords. "NOBUNAGA! I CALL TRUCE!"
Nobunaga saw your face, and he blocked off his allies, reaching out to you.
"She said, she called for truce," Kenshin said, standing next to you and guarding you.
Once all the troops had returned, you allied yourself with the Uesugi-Takeda warlords as the warlords of the Oda alliance reluctantly sided with their commander.
Nobunaga spoke first, "Now, my Princess, did you call truce to willingly return to me?"
You firmly replied, casting away your anxious subconscious at the sound of his voice, "I'd be a fool."
"Instead," You spoke again. "Let the Uesugi-Takeda leave. Let me stay with them, in exchange for the Oda claiming this land and the resources here."
They did not word it, but Kenshin and Shingen stood by you with no rebuttals. Your heart stilled at their silent agreement and support.
Shingen added on, "Consider the Princess collateral for your war, Nobunaga. With her, the alliance has reason to believe you won't be a threat to us."
Nobunaga was unimpressed, reaching for his katana. "What half-assed words… There is no benefit to the Oda in this arrangement."
The other warlords of the Oda were dumbfounded. Hideyoshi spoke up, "My lord! This is considerably generous-"
"Do not cross me."
You shivered, remembering the cold tone of that voice. No, this was not the time to give in. You threatened the warlords, revealing the needle closer to your skin. "Let me go, or you will have nothing to live for, Oda Nobunaga."
Those manipulative eyes quickly looked in horror as you pricked yourself, the poison quickly drawing into your system.
"YN!" Sasuke cried out. Yoshimoto quickly caught you, but you stopped Yoshimoto from touching the wound.
"Suffer as I did, Nobunaga."
The Devil of the Sixth Heaven, in front of his vassals, fell to his knees.
"Ieyasu!" He roared. "Heal her!"
The Tokugawa lord did not budge an inch.
Ieyasu curtly responded. "Call off the war, then I'll do it."
"Too little too late, Nobunaga," Masamune said, sheathing his katana. "Your allies will abandon you if you go on with this war."
"Lord Nobunaga, no, Nobunaga," Hideyoshi claimed. "Return the admirable lord I served, not one who falls so easily."
Kenshin chipped in, "I will retreat my troops as well, Oda. You're not a worthy opponent now, so fight me once you've gained your honour."
The Uesugi-Takeda warlords stood behind you, as Yoshimoto clutched your poisoned body.
"Foolish girl, you knew this would finish him," Yoshimoto whispered, trying to discretely draw out the poison.
"It's done. The Oda will retreat."
The moment Nobunaga said those words, Ieyasu rushed to your side, immediately drawing out the poison from your blood. "Honestly, you're such an idiot after all this time," He scolded, a tear or two slipping down his cheek.
"And not one of you has changed," You said. "Ieyasu, everyone, thank you…"
All you saw was your dearest friends crying out for you as the world turned black.

Days later, you woke up in your room at Kenshin's place. Nothing but seeing Kennyo entered your mind, as you raced to his room.
"Kennyo!"
"YN?" He was well and up in his futon, being visited by the Uesugi-Takeda group.
You jumped into his arms, finally being able to feel his warmth.
"I heard what you did, my dear…" He said, sitting you on his lap. "Thank you."
You shook your head, "It was for you, for everything you'd granted to me. My freedom, my livelihood… and love," You said, looking up to your lover. "For that, Kennyo, may I marry you and can we stay together until our time ends?"
Kennyo himself was shocked, not expecting such words from you. He turned red, and unexpectedly the warlords still didn't leave the room.
"C'mon old friend! Your lovely lady proposed to you!" Shingen cheered on.
Sasuke and Yoshimoto nodded. "What a wholesome ending," Yoshimoto added on.
"Gosh, why do I have to witness th-"
Yukimura was quickly silenced by his lord and his best friend. Kenshin simply smiled, drinking his sake in response.
Kennyo hugged you, his tears soaking your kimono. "My love… I will. I will live for you and stay with you until our time ends."
"You swear on it?"
"Of course, it’s all for you."

"LN Kenta! Are you listening?!"
The boy slumped his head to the desk, reiterating the history lesson, "-And the leader Ikko Ikki was rumoured to have escaped the battlefield with Lady LN YN but no proof has ever been found except for a bear made by Lady LN left in Kennyo's temple…"
"Right!" The history teacher exclaimed. "Next test will be about Oda Nobunaga's married life, including the tale of Lady LN and all relating battles…"
Kenta shuffled out of the classroom, slinging his jacket over his shoulders and then and there, he saw his lover Mai waiting for him.
"You could've eaten on your own…"
She smiled at her boyfriend, leaning on his shoulder. "Well, food's better when you're around people you love!"
Unbeknownst to the couple's eyes, a stalking figure of the captain of the baseball team watched them, his gaze envious at LN Kenta.
"Oi! Oda-senpai!"
"Oda Nozaki! Hurry up!"
The dark haired boy shifted away from his hiding spot, putting on his cheerful façade in front of his kouhai and friends. "Guys! I'm here…"
"Sheesh… Took you long enough…"
"I bet Oda-senpai was staring at the Drama Club's tailor again… Katakura Mai-san right?"
Nozaki shushed his teasing kouhai, shoving their caps straight on. "Hey, don't waste your time on gossip. We've got a war to train for."
"It's just a friendly match Nozaki!"
As the group went ahead, Nozaki trailed behind, taking one more glance at his beloved Mai.
It's alright, my little fireball. This rivalry between me and Kenta…

5. You need to let me know which muse is being used, you can’t just say it’s some stud or just allude to who it is, you need to put down a name.
6. Prompts need to have a character from my muse list. If there is no character, I’m tossing it.
7. For RPs, I will only play characters that are on my muse list. I know that I write a lot of characters in my prompts, but I prefer rping as characters on my muse list.
8. Finally, have fun with this, main point is for everyone to have a good time.
