E is for Even Guys Like Me?
september 12, 2008
summary: You tell Spencer about the conversation you'd overheard with his mother. He gets embarrassed, and even a little angry.
word count: 1.9k
warnings: the slightest teensiest bit of angst. mostly just a lot of spencer crushing for reader
Tumblr media
It had been a little over two weeks since you overheard Spencer’s phone call with his mother. You’d been making it your mission to drop little hints at him about your feelings being the same, but they all seemed to just go over his head. You decided it’d be best to find a moment and tell him directly before it’s too late.
You were on a case right now, you and Spencer once again staying back in the PD to work on the intellectual side of things. Though a lot of time was spent together, this was not a time for deep conversations. You’d wait on the case before you said anything. You didn’t want to distract the genius. Because, despite what he had told Hotch in your meeting last month, Spencer did most of the work. You were just there on the off chance that he didn’t know something, which was pretty much never.
Three days went by, you had to try your best to not be too flirtatious with Spencer. He got flustered fast. And you weren’t sure how experienced he was, you didn’t want to move too quickly. Though your guys’ carpooling and coffee sharing was normal, it felt different for you now. More meaningful. You caught yourself blushing sometimes when the tall boy would bring in two cups of coffee, one with his name and one with yours. He’d even begun leaving sticky notes on them sometimes, ever since you did the morning of the phone call. You’ve saved them all in your desk, his handwritten script being some of the most effortlessly beautiful things you’ve ever had the pleasure of laying your eyes on.
_____
You’re seated on the jet on the way home from the case. Directly to your left, is Spencer, who is deeply entranced in a book, “A Study in Scarlet,” by Arthur Conan Doyle, the book that he received in last year’s white elephant gift exchange, which took place before you began working at the BAU. Across from you is Emily and Derek, and Hotch and Rossi are at the booth behind her. JJ stayed home for this case as she is pregnant. She is in charge of files until she gives birth and returns from maternity leave.
The silence in the jet is broken by a head turn from Hotch who clears his throat. “Are you three up for dinner tonight?” He says.
“My treat,” Rossi adds.
“Well, if Papa Dave is paying, then of course I’ll be there,” Emily says.
“Sure, I’ll go,” you said, glancing over at Spencer who hadn’t even looked up from his book. “I’m sure Spence will come too.” Derek kicked you under the table and gave you a wink. His teasings were the main reason you haven't made any moves on Spencer prior to hearing him speak to his mother about you.
Almost on beat, Spencer looks up, “Yeah, I’ll be there. I’ll just need a ride if that’s alright,” he said. His eyes met yours.
“I’ll give you a ride, Spence.” Another kick from Derek, this time, you kick him back. Emily catches on to the teasing game of footsies going on under the table and gives you and Derek a cheeky grin. You roll your eyes at the two of them and pull your feet into your lap. Sitting criss-cross now, you pull out your book of crossword puzzles and begin scribbling answers.
_____
You weren’t quite sure how much time had passed. Emily and Derek had fallen asleep, and not a peep had been heard from Rossi or Hotch either. Spencer was still awake and was coming up on the final few pages of his book. He was curled into a small ball against the wall in the corner of the seat, his knees to his chest and feet pointed toward you. His mismatched socks peeked out from beneath his khakis, one pink and one yellow. The shoestring of his left converse was coming untied. Untied! That was the answer to the last line of your puzzle! You subconsciously thank Spencer for his accidental aid to your old woman games, and it’s almost as if he heard it. He looks at his watch, then up at you.
“Hmm, we should be back in Quantico in 17 minutes. Taking to account the wind speed, maybe even 16,” he says. He crinkles his nose and returns to the last pages of his book. You scribble in the final word of your crossword puzzle and begin to pack up. You slide your puzzle book into your small carry on backpack, and begin to clear off the rest of the table. You pick up yours and Emily’s empty coffee mugs and reach around Spencer’s elbows which were rested against the table to grab his. You stack the three mugs together and grab Derek’s plate. Derek was the only person you knew who would eat four pork chops at 3pm, then agree to go to dinner only two hours later.
Spencer sees you take his mug and looks up at you. He gives you a smile and whispers a soft “thank you.”
_____
Spencer was seated on the passenger side of your car. His eyes were following the flashing lights as you drove down the city streets in the darkness. It was 7:30pm. A little late for dinner, but it’s when the jet got back. Plus, you were hungry.
The light was hitting Spencer’s face in a way that made him look ethereal. Maybe you shouldn’t have said anything, but you couldn’t help yourself.
“Hey, Spence,” you say, alluding a hum in response. Can I tell you something?”
“Of course,” he looked at you. Somehow, from the repositioning of his head, the lighting somehow hit his face even better. The yellow luminescence shining through the windows made the honey brown of his eyes almost 3-dimensional. It felt as if he was looking inside of you. He was truly breathtaking.
“Okay,” you sigh, “please don’t hate me, but I kind of overheard you and your mom’s conversation…”
“What?”
“Well, just your side. I know I shouldn’t have, but I just couldn’t… I just… I need to-”
Spencer interrupts you. It was dark, but you could tell his cheeks were red. “So you were eavesdropping?”
“Spencer, I’m sorry. I just…”
“How much did you hear?”
“It was only the end. If you would’ve been talking about something personal I would’ve left but-”
“How is me opening up about my feelings for someone not personal?” He seemed a little angry.
“No, it is, and I know I shouldn’t have, but…”
“Yeah, you really shouldn’t have, y/n.”
“Spencer, I…” You looked at the man in the seat beside you. You didn’t want this conversation to upset him. You really wished you hadn’t spoken. You could see the betrayal in his eyes. You felt truly awful.
“You what?” He broke the silence, eyes meeting yours. He stared at you intently.
You took a moment, trying to find the words to say. You didn’t want to break his trust even more. “Spencer, I like you too.”
His eyes were blown huge. “Huh?” “I like you too. I’ve liked you since I first started working here. I didn’t want to try anything because I didn’t know if you felt the same, or if you even date because I know some people with this job don’t. And-”
You were rambling. You were trying your best to defend yourself. Spencer’s eyes were searching your face. He was profiling you. You were telling the truth.
“I, wow. I didn’t know you felt that way, y/n…”
You reached for his hand. It was cold and shaky. You ran your thumb over the back of it, letting it raise and drop with the veins it crossed. He began shaking even more, so you let go. He snaps his hand to his thigh, and with his other hand, traces the tracks you’d left. He smiles to himself and lets out a large sigh.
_____
“You guys have a good night,” Rossi says as he climbs into his luxury sedan. The team had just finished a large dinner and were beginning to head their separate ways.
“Don’t worry, Papa Dave, I’ll get the kid home safe,” Derek says, giving Spencer a playful noogie.
Spencer agreed to a ride home from Derek at dinner. Maybe it was because their houses were only a few streets away from each others’, or maybe, he still felt a little awkward from your previous conversation with him. You didn’t mind all that much though, after all, you’d finally openly expressed your feelings for him. That was enough for one night.
Rossi carefully backs out of the parking lot, leaving you, Spencer, and Derek still remaining. You stuff your hands in your coat pocket; it’s chilly. You want this night to last forever, yet simultaneously, you hoped it’d end right now. You tilted your head toward your car. Spencer understood.
“Derek,” he says, “are you about ready?”
“Yeah, we can head out whenever you want.”
Spencer ran his hand through his hair before turning around to look at you. He gave you a smile. “I’ll see you Monday, y/n.”
“Bye, Spence,” you say, returning the smile.
_____
“Hey, Derek,” Spencer says as he rubs his fingers over his knuckles.
“What’s up, kid?” Derek responds. He looks over to meet eyes with him quickly.
“Can I, um… can I ask you a question?” Spencer looks at Derek like a lost puppy.
“Woah, the boy genius asking me a question? What has this world come to?”
“It’s about girls.”
“Oh. I see.” Derek knew of Spencer’s trouble with girls. Despite the darkness, he could see the light in the skinny man’s eyes. “Come at me, big guy.” He gave Spencer a pat on the back.
“How do I like… ask one on a date?”
“Oooh, who’s the special lady? Hmmm?”
“Derek, I’m being serious. Please.”
Derek could hear Spencer’s plea in his voice. He understood that Spencer was confiding something foreign to him and truly needed the help of an experienced man.
“Well, what does she like? Don’t take her somewhere too extravagant. Maybe a nice dinner or a breakfast date. Start simple and see how it goes.”
“Okay, but like, how?”
“Step one is speaking to her.”
“I have spoken to her… a lot.”
“The main thing, kid, is just to sound confident. Even if you’re not.”
“But what if she says no? Like how do I turn away from that?”
“There’s no reason for her to say no.”
“Yeah, but like… what if she does? What if she thinks I’m weird? Maybe this is a bad idea…”
Spencer was spiraling. Derek reaches over and puts his arm on Spencer’s shoulder. He turns to him, meeting his eyes.
“Even guys like you are capable of love, kid. Any girl would be lucky to have such a kind and caring man like you, okay? Just go with your gut.”
Derek rounded the turn to Spencer’s road.
“Thank you, Derek, really. I’ll let you know how it goes.”
“Have a good night, lover boy.”
“You too, Derek.”

Whether you’re performing cutting-edge laser treatments or giving pep talks to patients with the occasional outbreak, there’s never a dull moment in the world of skincare. And who knows? Maybe you’ll even land an internship under Dr. McSteamy himself - so apply now!

Branches and Wages: I decided to focus on two branches for my Dermatology career, which branch out after level 5: Cosmetic Dermatology, focusing on non-surgical treatments and Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery, which specializes in skin surgery. The two branches share the same skill and metric requirements, as they are both part of the medical field. The main difference lies in their salaries, with the Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery branch offering a higher pay. I aimed to make the wages as realistic as possible however to compensate for the increased days off and decreased work hours as the level increases, I had to raise the hourly wages beyond the normal salary ranges for Levels 6-10 for both branches. Metrics and Books: This career is similar to the medical career in The Sims 3, particularly in terms of the logic skill and research as part of its metrics. However, I also included charisma, as I believe it’s a vital skill for patients to trust and feel comfortable with their doctors, especially when it comes to skin treatments. Opportunities and Uniforms: With a bit of experience in creating opportunities, I decided to add four this time, three of which are repeatable! All of them are relatively simple and offer bonuses, as well as salary increases for some as rewards upon completion. For uniforms, I’ve provided a picture above to highlight the differences between the levels by assigning different colors to the scrubs. There isn’t a general color assigned to dermatology uniforms, as hospitals usually decide the scrub colors for their various departments. As stated above, you will need NRAAS Careers Mod for these careers to show up in the game and as long as you have the latest version of it, it should work for higher patches. You can also read my #psa regarding these careers, click here. I’m not fluent in any other languages to translate so if anyone is interested in translating this career, please don’t hesitate to send me a message here, comment on this post or let me know in my Ask/Contact form (if you don’t have a Tumblr account) and will let you know the details. I have tested this career in my game, so far it is working and all scripts are showing up. All feedback is very welcome to help me learn and improve my skills so please let me know if you experience any problems on your end and I’ll do my best to sort it as soon as possible.

RIDICULOUS GROUP SCENARIOS i scripted for my kpop dr
now playing . . . "mas que nada" by black eyed peas
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A big, smelly ass rat found itself on stage mid way through an encore...guess who ran off stage crying?
male member gets struck by lightning after saying God should "strike him down" if he's lying about denying his crush on a female member. he went in a coma for two weeks.
got stranded on a rich members gifted yacht in south east asia. then the ship started sinking and we knew we were cooked. but luckily got saved by...pirates...? and hustled to an event in singapore via carpooling in a basically totaled car for four days straight.
doing the pacer test as a challenge on a high school themed variety show. it wasnt planned by the show makers but our managers requested it to fuck with us.
the group went on a "team building retreat" (fancy word for vacation) in Brazil and got lost in the Amazon rainforest because somebody forgot to book a guide and some others were convinced we didnt need it. rescued by our managers in their chopper (which nobody knew they had?? because who tf just has a chopper). but it seemed like they just ran into us on their way to do something.
big paintball match with a bunch of other idol groups. like group v. group. but we took it way too seriously! military strategizing and everything. we won tho.
performed a cover of "jailhouse rock" by elvis in orange jumpsuits a day before our CFO got arrested. no we did not know that he was getting put behind bars.
the group has a fleet of cars (since were too cool to get driven around...or something? the logic is stupid, whatever it is) some shared some private. almost nobody in the group save for like five people should be let on the road. none of us can drive. nearly every idol in our age group has been in a car with the shitty driver line and can attest to it.
the group split into two and bet against if two members would end up together by the end of the year. the group who lost had to give the other group fifty dollars each and eat dog food. (in my dr my intuition is crazy good so no, i was not in the loosing group)
a member got his bedframe and mattress off of temu for like fifteen dollars. it broke down on a livestream a year later. like nobody was even sitting/ laying on it, it just broke.

*clears throat* Anyway, as I was saying -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Buck and Chimney carpool to the court, while Tommy and Eddie ride together. Buck tries to put his feelings aside and play it cool, then Eddie picks Tommy to be on his team. Cue that third stab of envy, and Buck kinda looses his cool. Things get a little rough and Buck accidentally sprains Eddie’s ankle (peep the shoes). Chim is confused and taken back by Buck’s behavior. Eddie possibly gets mad at Buck and refuses his help???
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then: Buck goes to Madney’s house for advice and/or to vent. Chim berates him in some way? Or tells him to get his shit together and figure it out? Cue this conversation in the script shot we got from JLH. Maddie helps Buck talk through his feelings. He realizes he’s insecure about loosing his place in Eddie’s life, and his long standing abandonment issues have reared their ugly head again. He’s alone (romantically), and Eddie has Marisol and now he has a new pal in Tommy. His question is: How do I fit in all that? And Maddie tells him he needs to talk with Eddie.

A new script mod by Destrospean! You can now customize uncustomizable outfits! Destrospean mod notes: Requires Lazy Duchess' Mono Patcher
Allows players to edit and toggle on/off the outfits for the following objects:
Beekeeping Box (from Supernatural)
Chemistry Lab (from Generations)
Mechanical Bull (from Showtime)
Teppanyaki Grill (from the Sims 3 Store)
Also allows editing the singed and skinny dipping towel outfits for each Sim (interactions available from a dresser).
None of the aforementioned expansions/store items are required for this mod to function; the objects from the add-on content not installed will simply not have the interactions available for their respective outfits (because those objects are absent from the game).
Editing and toggling on/off the outfit for each object is done for each Sim rather than globally.
Credits
Buzzler (sampled code from Carpool Disabler for adding interactions and notifications; also used STBLize to create STBLs from XMLs)
Melchi (sampled code from the Chemistry Lab Outfit Fix for copying tuning and disabling outfits)
LazyDuchess (for Mono Patcher; used to change the functionality for setting up singed outfits)
NRaas (sampled code from the Master Controller Integration module to make the Master Controller module for this mod)
s3pe (for creating packages and importing DLLs, STBLs, tuning XMLs into them)

For years now, Hollywood has been on a losing streak. In the film and television business, good news has been harder to come by than original stories, with the successive disruptions of the pandemic, the writers’ and actors’ strikes, and the wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles in January. “Survive till 2025” was the motto that kept the town going last year, but this year has offered little reprieve. Production is down, jobs are scarce, and morale is low; scripted entertainment is losing the battle for eyeballs to video games, YouTube, and social media. (Over the weekend, Trump himself weighed in, writing on Truth Social that “the Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death”—while proposing tariffs that could hasten its demise.) In a recent New York magazine profile of David Zaslav, perhaps the most hated exec in L.A., the writer Michael Wolff pronounced that the industry’s “gradual decline” has “arguably reached the all-at-once stage.”
If Hollywood still can’t resist telling stories about itself, it can at least strive for honesty about its flop era. That’s the guiding ethos of two insidery show-biz series this spring: the current season of the Max dramedy “Hacks” and the new Apple TV+ comedy “The Studio.” On “Hacks,” a long-stymied comic named Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) finally lives out her dream of hosting her own late-night program, only to discover that she’s been crowned the queen of a castle made of sand. And, in “The Studio,” Seth Rogen stars as Matt Remick, a freshly promoted movie executive who soon realizes that his new job is to “ruin” the medium he loves in pursuit of profit.
For its first three seasons, much of the pleasure of “Hacks” lay in its examination of life on the D-list. We saw Deborah through the eyes of Ava (Hannah Einbinder), a wunderkind comedy writer who gets cancelled after tweeting a bad joke and ends up in Las Vegas, where Deborah has a fading residency. Ava helps Deborah shake the cobwebs off her act, and Deborah introduces her to the myriad, often shady money-making opportunities afforded to those no longer chasing prestige: QVC clothing lines, supplements businesses, cruise gigs. At the end of Season 3, after the two have successfully reinvented her persona and rebuilt her career, Deborah lands the late-night show of her dreams and promises to make Ava head writer, only to renege at the eleventh hour—prompting Ava to clinch the position via blackmail instead.
Season 4, the first to be set firmly in L.A., charts the aftermath. In the press, the two are the very picture of feminist solidarity. Deborah is the first woman at eleven-thirty; Ava is the youngest head writer in the history of late-night TV. But, behind the scenes, their mutual resentments threaten to derail the entire enterprise. (When Ava tries to convince Deborah to let her take control of the writers’ room, telling her, “I’m trying to make your life easier,” Deborah responds, “Then kill yourself.”) Neither can afford the dysfunction. Their task isn’t just to create a hit show, but to redeem all of late-night. “It wasn’t a choice between you and someone else to host,” a network boss (Helen Hunt) informs them. “It was a choice between you and no one.” To be deemed a success, they’re expected to emulate the likes of James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke,” which became the source not only of viral clips but a five-season spinoff series. These days, a show isn’t worth launching if it can’t spawn a franchise.
This bleak vision of Hollywood makes for a fascinating backdrop. Deborah and Ava’s mandate reflects real-world anxieties about audience retention. The portrait is deepened by the parallel plight of Deborah’s manager, Jimmy (Paul W. Downs), and his own protégé turned partner, Kayla (Meg Stalter). One subplot involves their struggles to manage another difficult client: a bite-prone Collie starring in a TV remake of “Lassie.” Loopy but astute, Kayla quickly demonstrates her ability to navigate this diminished version of the industry by getting the half-hour series green-lighted at a time when “no one is buying” them. (The line is also an oblique acknowledgement of a painful reality: streaming companies, many of whose subscription bases are international, prefer content that can “travel,” so comedies, which tend to be more culturally rooted, have become a hard sell around town.) The surest sign, perhaps, of the business’s increasing irrelevance is its dependence on the kind of social-media star power its gatekeepers still don’t fully understand. Deborah, who’s always willing to suspend her own judgment if it gets her the reaction that she craves, brings on to the show a TikToker named Dance Mom (Julianne Nicholson, in a delirious comic performance). Dance Mom proves a hit, but the version of the show that Deborah and Ava can take pride in slips further and further away.
Female ambition is “Hacks” ’s object of obsession, and while the series’ portrayal of Hollywood feels timely, it’s used mostly in service of developing the central theme. Early in the season, Deborah explains to Ava that she isn’t the right person to lead her writers’ room: Ava’s taste is too political, too niche, and “late-night is for housewives and mechanics.” The pair have worked hard to find Deborah’s voice, but by straining it further in a bid for mass appeal, she risks losing it all over again. Blind ambition can take you upward—or land you on a glass cliff.
In “The Studio,” the three real-life showrunners of “Hacks”—Downs, Jen Statsky, and Lucia Aniello—make a cameo as the rare Hollywood creatives lucky or savvy enough to get quality shows made and to win awards for them. The scene is set at the Golden Globes, and their appearance is bookended by cracks from Ramy Youssef, the evening’s host, about the otherwise dire state of the industry. “I’m starting to feel like I have to go to the movies,” he says. “Like, if I don’t buy a ticket, the whole thing’s gonna fall apart.”
“The Studio” is much more explicitly about Hollywood’s decline. In its pilot, Matt Remick, the new studio head played by Rogen, is given an edict by his boss, Griffin (Bryan Cranston), to make “movies,” not “films”—beginning with a blockbuster about Kool-Aid. (Griffin has aspirations for features based on Jenga and the Rubik’s Cube as well.) Matt, a devoted cinephile, thinks he’ll be able to have it both ways, envisioning a “Barbie”-esque brand-based auteurist project helmed by his hero, Martin Scorsese. Instead, he’s forced to kill the legendary director’s passion project. That night, Matt and his deputy, Sal (Ike Barinholtz), watch Scorsese’s “Goodfellas” to remind themselves why they got into the business in the first place.
There’s something undeniably cathartic about a figure as successful as Rogen, who co-created the series, speaking out about Hollywood’s creative cowardice. (It’s possible he’s feeling the pinch, too; Hollywood has drastically cut down on the kind of mid-budget theatrical comedies that made him a star two decades ago.) And, like “Hacks,” “The Studio” has a great ear for insult comedy: the boorish Sal calls A24’s output the purview of “pansexual mixologists living in Bed-Stuy.”
But the series is better at diagnosing the problem than at getting us to care about those responsible. Matt and his direct reports quickly reveal themselves to be spineless, self-important, thin-skinned, and out of touch. On a date at a gala for pediatric oncologists, Matt insists that the hyperviolent franchise he helped launch, which involves a superhero who telepathically explodes heads, is “art,” and that his job is just as important as the doctors’. (To triple down, he rubs in their face the fact that he makes more money than they do.) With people like him in charge, “The Studio” implies, it’s no wonder the multiplexes are full of such dreck. And, though we catch glimpses of the kinds of films Matt ostensibly wants to shepherd into the world, it’s the blandly schlocky Kool-Aid movie that we’re stuck with episode after episode.
Like most Rogen projects, “The Studio” is proudly potty-mouthed but ultimately toothless. One gets the feeling that the actor-producer is too ensconced in the system to truly go for broke. Where “The Franchise,” last year’s short-lived HBO satire of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, gleefully eviscerated its targets, “The Studio” is far gentler with the many real-life figures who pop up throughout the season. Perhaps the most revealing guest appearance is that of the Netflix co-C.E.O. Ted Sarandos, in the episode set at the Globes. Netflix is cleaning up, and Sarandos is praised endlessly by his artists (including Jean Smart) in every acceptance speech; Matt, meanwhile, is on the verge of a meltdown as he tries to persuade Zoë Kravitz to publicly acknowledge his existence. When the two men run into each other in the bathroom, an agonized Matt asks how he gets the talent to appreciate him. “It’s contractual. I force them to,” Sarandos says, baffled. “Otherwise, why in the world would they possibly thank us?”

BREAKING: IS THIS AFTERGLOW? Written by Olivia V. 08/21/2020
Former lead singer of the alternative/indie band Afterglow, has just announced her debut solo album, "Is This Acoustic?". Back in April, the band's management announced an indefinite hiatus for the group, leaving fans wondering if they would release any new projects in the future. The starlet announced her solo project via Instagram, teasing fans with photos of herself and produce Dan Nigro together in the studio. Livia went as far as to even tease a snippet of a new song on her story with the lyrics "You're so impressed with me, I've been all tense since I woke up." Its unclear to the public who all is set to work on the project. So far only the singer herself and her producer are confirmed, but it was alleged she is writing with other artists. Many fans are questioning if Livia is working with any of the members of Afterglow, but so far only one out of two of the bandmates have shown support for the project.
The album is set to be released this November, with the first leading single dropping in two weeks time on Friday September 4th at midnight.

₊˚⊹ HEYYYYYY !! This is my cutesy band DR! This is a shared reality with my two besties, Salem &&' Han. Here's some small little tidbits of this DR since we just finished scripting the majority of our discography!!
In 2019, our management & label began to separate us during events, carpools, interviews, etc. Their agenda was to push myself for a solo career, thinking it would gain them more big bucks.
Solo Liv era officially takes place between 2020 and 2021, with the band reuniting towards the end of '21 and announcing our new album in 2022.
Afterglow has three collective homes. We met in NYC at a boarding arts school, so rightfully we have an NYC penthouse. We also have our LA home and one in London.
Because I am the center of attention, I do take Sabrina's place in the Olivia / Joshua / 'Brina love triangle. HOWEVER !!!!! Sab is still a very huge artist, love her down! AND this time around, me & Olivia actually are so mature and civil and she writes and features in my debut album. Fans call us Liv Squared and it is sooooo cute :3 thank you Dan!
I have dual citizenship, my dad is Mexican American and my mom is European ( German Italian ). I was raised in London majority of my life, but I rigged my way into NYC art school bc yes !!
ANYWAY,, this is my first time making a post like this so if its poorly written or choppy, i apologize.

Who is your least favorite spider-man writer and artist and your most favorite artist and writer of spider-man?
Picking favorites feels surprisingly tricky, not because I can't but because Buscema edges out Romita on art but Conway edges out DeMatteis on writing (by dint of spending thirty straight years + 20 more off and on kicking my ass and how when he falls on his ass it remains fun for me), and these names next to each other are nothing. This is a stupid combination. Really highlights how superhero comics are made by teams and a single dude cannot guarantee quality if they're not vibing with the rest of the carpool. But if I'm picking a team the seventies beats the nineties, and it's sooo disingenuous to try to narrow down one pair of names when that era was Lee/Romita bleeding into Lee/Conway/Romita into Conway/Romita/Kane, also every few issues Mooney dips in to push the Peter having pretty eyelashes agenda and then leaves. Like some of the best art in this era had Kane doing pencils and Romita inking, and I like their combined style more than Romita penciling his own work if we're talking the period where he was still a full time illustrator, but I midkey dislike Kane's pencils inked by everybody else. I looked up who was illustrating 90's Web with Conway on scripts and it turns out the art I like best is a penciler and inker team and the quality takes a dive whenever either of them takes a month off and leaves the other one in a substitute's hands. You know! Team efforts! Anyway here are some iconic combinations in no order cherry picked to cut out overlap and sneak more people in.
Yes Please:
DeMatteis/Buscema
Tumblr media
SSM #180
There's a rhythm to this team's work I've full stop never seen anywhere else.
Lee/Romita
Tumblr media
ASM #83
The Vibe.
Conway/Andru
Tumblr media
ASM #145
The number of times Gerry Conway has kicked my ass. u_u With Romita Sr. and Andru the most distinctive art trait is the faces - Andru's were never as doll-perfect as Romita's, and that's kind of the best thing about them?
Now guys I hate on the other hand. Way less complex. Debated whether to answer this because I try not to go on about who in the industry sucks at their job but this is not because I couldn't.
Please No:
Spencer/Otley
Tumblr media
ASM (2018) #30
It should have been difficult to outdo the preceding run, but writing that was simultaneously nonsensical and insulting, deflated pacing where each issue achieved about as much as a single newspaper strip, a teeth-first art style where every face sports a pained grimace and the meandering composition always scores a D-, and the finishing touch of colors that I can only describe as Averaging Out to Oatmeal...combined to create some of the worst comics I've ever seen. Spencer and I appreciate so many of the same comics and his understanding of what makes them good is so poor that it's almost like receiving a personalized hate letter.
Slott/anybody
Tumblr media
ASM #546
He can write well which just makes it worse. I don't even know where to start enumerating his crimes. Like do I just pick one anecdote? When there are so many?
Land (the porn trace guy)
Tumblr media
Symbiote Spider-Man: Alien Reality #2 but I could have opened anything and found a bad traced yelling face
You know. The guy. Who traces from porn. That guy. He remains gainfully employed despite being known for this. Does he have dirt on an important executive?
Campbell (yes he watermarked the one on the left two separate times AFTER signing it)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ASM (2018) #2 variant, Renew Your Vows #11 variant
If you're distant from the recent comics scene it's hard to convey how omnipresent this guy is. He's like the comic sans of artists. After having the way he draws women ripped to shreds by social media over a decade ago, Campbell doubled down and has since then drawn hundreds of pinups of identical women in invisible high heels making the exact same face. Singlehandedly a huge factor in how people visualize MJ becoming "skinny carrot top with a pointy chin and freckles". He's proud of this.

NRAAS Careers Mod
Tumblr media
I decided to use game screenshots from The Sims 3 that I took during the testing period instead of creating detailed images because it takes less time compared to the other one and I've been quite busy these past few days. You may have noticed my new post format, which I'm trying out to see if it works for me. Since I started my Simblr account, I've been experimenting with what works or looks good with my theme. Hopefully, I will find something that I'll be happy with. So, I hope you'll be patient with me as I tend to change things every now and then. The Charisma skill is added as one of its metrics because this part-time career mostly involves interacting with patients and fellow medical staff. This includes tasks such as checking in patients, scheduling appointments and coordinating medical procedures with different teams in the hospital. Logic is also the other Metric as I think the longer you work in that setting you will eventually learn the medical jargons especially if you have been promoted to the highest level and need to accurately record everything during patient examinations. As stated above, you will need NRAAS Careers Mod for these careers to show up in the game and as long as you have the latest version of it, it should work for higher patches. You can also read my #psa regarding these careers, click here. I’m not fluent in any other languages to translate so if anyone is interested in translating this career, please don’t hesitate to send me a message here, comment on this post or let me know in my new Ask/Contact form (if you don't have a Tumblr account) and will let you know the details. I have tested this career in my game, so far it is working and all scripts are showing up. All feedback is very welcome to help me learn and improve my skills so please let me know if you experience any problems on your end and I’ll do my best to sort it as soon as possible.

The Green Revolution: How Coworking Spaces Are Reducing Carbon Footprints
Tumblr media
Imagine entering a coworking space that provides more than simply Wi-Fi and a desk. It was created for those who are concerned about the state of the planet and where their energy is going.
It can seem tough to locate workspaces that truly align with your beliefs in a world full of inefficient offices. That is why choosing a space designed for both your growth and the earth’s future isn’t just smart—it’s necessary. A workspace that fuels your ambition without costing the environment is no longer a dream. It’s real, and it’s ready when you are.
With the growing environmental concerns knocking on everyone's door, how we work has shifted gears. The idea of a giant corporate office sprawling across floors is becoming outdated. In its place? Smart, eco-conscious coworking spaces where every light switch, shared printer, and coffee machine are part of a bigger movement.
Today, it is not just where you work—it's how you work that matters. And coworking spaces are quietly leading a green revolution, one eco-friendly workspace at a time.
Shared Resources: Maximising Efficiency, Minimising Waste
Something is refreshing about not having to own everything you need to get through a workday. That is the beauty of coworking spaces. You share printers, meeting rooms, and even those giant coffee machines. And when you share, you waste less. It is simple math but has a powerful impact.
A typical corporate setup often means duplicating resources for every office—more energy used, more waste created. A coworking space flips the script. Centralised lighting, optimised heating and cooling systems, and shared equipment maximise resources without stretching the planet's limits.
In many workspaces, energy-efficient appliances and sustainable practices are not just an afterthought but stitched into the daily rhythm. Choosing coworking is suitable for your networking; it is a quiet vote for a greener future.
And while shared resources trim the excess, how these workspaces are built matters just as much.
Sustainable Design: Building with the Environment in Mind
You will notice the difference as soon as you enter a coworking space that has been meticulously planned. Large windows that let in plenty of natural light, greenery around, and furniture made of sustainable or recycled materials make a subtle yet impactful statement.
Workspaces that include eco-friendly materials into their design go beyond simply providing Wi-Fi and seats. They are offering a healthier place to think, create, and grow. Using recycled wood, energy-saving fixtures, and low-VOC paints, these workspaces shrink their environmental footprint from the ground up.
Plus, biophilic design is not just a fancy trend. Adding plants and natural elements into coworking spaces boosts mood, sharpens focus, and improves air quality. It is a win-win for the environment and everyone hustling inside those walls.
While the interiors set the vibe, the location of a coworking space plays an even bigger role in walking the green talk.
Location Matters: Reducing Commute, Reducing Emissions
A well-placed coworking space can turn a nightmare commute into a breezy walk or a quick metro ride. And that matters more than we realise. Every mile shaved off a car journey chops off a chunk of carbon emissions.
Many modern workspaces pop up near public transport hubs, making it ridiculously easy to ditch the car keys. Some even go further by offering bike racks and promoting carpooling options for members who still need wheels.
Think about it: the more accessible your workspace, the fewer cars clogging the roads, and the cleaner the air we breathe. It is a ripple effect that starts with a simple choice—where you decide to plug in your laptop each morning.
Beyond infrastructure, though, the people inside coworking spaces truly keep the green wheels turning.
Community Initiatives: Cultivating a Culture of Sustainability
Sustainability is not something you tack onto a workspace; it is something you grow within the community. That is the magic ingredient coworking spaces bring to the table. It is not just about being eco-friendly but about living it daily.
Workspaces will organise recycling drives, host sustainability workshops, and launch green community challenges. These small but mighty initiatives turn everyday actions into lasting habits.
It is contagious when one startup shifts to a paperless model and another follows. When a freelance team starts biking to work, the vibe suddenly changes. A coworking space creates a micro-community where living sustainably feels normal, easy, and—dare we say it—pretty cool.
As the community leans greener, the overall impact of coworking spaces stretches far beyond individual cities and towns.
Coworking's Role in Global Sustainability Efforts
One coworking space doing its bit may seem like a drop in the ocean. But multiply that across thousands of workspaces worldwide, and suddenly, you have a tidal wave of change.
Each coworking space that prioritises sustainable design, energy efficiency, and conscious commuting chips away at global carbon footprints. Old habits shift as more businesses, startups, and freelancers gravitate toward these eco-minded workspaces. Corporate offices start taking notes. Bigger conversations happen about how all work environments should improve for the planet.
At the heart of it, coworking is proving that you don't have to choose between innovation and responsibility. You can grow your ideas and our business and leave the world a little better than you found it. And isn't that the future we all want to build?
This brings us to a simple but powerful truth—where you work has never mattered more.
Conclusion
When choosing a coworking space built on sustainable values, you are not just choosing an office. You are backing a better way of living and working. Every shared resource, every energy-smart decision, every greener commute adds up.
Workspaces today are more than just four walls and a Wi-Fi password. They are hubs for change—quietly, steadily, and powerfully reshaping how business and sustainability coexist.
The next time you log in for a day's work, think about your workspace's impact. The green revolution is not coming someday. It is already here, humming quietly in the background, waiting for you to step in and be part of it.
