Blue Curtains

Today I realise I've been chasing blue curtains...

"The curtains were blue." English teacher: "This symbolises the character’s deep depression." Author: "They were just fucking blue."

With my recent realisation that I'm neurodivergent, I've been looking at myself under a spotlight. Looking at everything I've ever done or said and trying to attribute meaning to it. Personal preferences? Weird behaviours? Dislikes? Idiosyncrasies? I've been trying to figure out why it all exists and if it's Autism, or ADHD, or something else. My latest? Why am I so drawn to month/day names? And it was that one that made me realise I like things just because I like them. There doesn't need to be a deep traumatic or neurodivergent reason for why I love morally grey characters, or hate onions, or want to sit in the middle of a forest but don't like staring out at sea. Sometimes the curtains are just fucking blue. And that's enough.

Looking for Ursa right after being banished had some...wildly unexpected results. One: Zuko actually found her. Two: she wasn't alone. Three: leaving her children behind in order to protect them was, apparently, just something she did.

Looking at the bright side, Zuko now had a three-year-old younger brother to look after. Looking at the dark side, Zuko now had a three-year-old kid he needed to parent while also keeping him a secret from his father because—may Agni help him—the Fire Lord would have to go through Zuko first if he dared to even look at Lu Ten II.

(AKA an AU in which Zuko is a good big brother and doesn't want another kid to grow up like he did.)

-the main designer and builder for the argo II, also the first hephaestus kid to have fire powers since hundreds of years ago (did i mention killed gaea? no? yeah he did that too)

-a girl who somehow charmspeak-ed gaea into falling back asleep (also side note daughter of super famous actor because why not)

-pretty much everybody is a two-time war veteran

-THE GOD APOLLO who just sometimes comes down to visit in the form of a teenage boy

-did i mention dionysus, god of wine madness and theatre

-also chiron, trainer of pretty much every greek hero ever
