Week 9 - My Stand-In News from YYDS Entertainment

Tong-Tinkarn and May-Manasanan, the young wife who is also a real estate business heiress, have been living separately in different houses for a while. Tong-Tinkarn who after marriage became the national outstanding husband. But this time it seems like they're really fighting, showing signs of love falling apart. This man has made a move after rumors surfaced that he posted the song "FLAW" by YEW on social media. Will it be like the lyrics that say 'If I had asked for anything, can I beg you to come back?'

Ming is becoming a series executive producer for the first time. Revealed that he will begin to reduce the work in front of camera and turn to investor instead. Because Thai actors get low wages and it's not enough for him to eat Omakase every meal. Hopefully he will be a driving force to improve the quality of life of the team behind the scene. He has a choice of leading cast in mind, but everyone have to go through the casting process. He will let the director make the final decision. He also makes an announcement to the marker that prepare for the open casting. It will be a very big production series named 'My Stand-in'. the IP is adapted from a famous novel in China. (this is soooo meta i'm howlinggggg)

Police were notified that a victim had been shot. It was found to be a celebrity with the initial J. It is believed that the thief miscommunicated and kidnapped the wrong person. The boyfriend of the victim, also a celebrity with the initials Khun Chai M., came to send the ransom. There was a shooting incident until it missed and hit the victim. At the scene there was another celebrity with the initial T. He is believed that there is involvement in the illegal loan case of the carpet shop owner who caused the incident.

Mike-Metheeyuth denies rumors of having a sweetheart. The man who was secretly photographed was just the new secretary. He still holds the position of number one single man who is wanted. Mike just acquired a big carpet factory. He wants to organize a promotion to buy a house from Akarayotha Group and get a free wool carpet.

Previously, famous actor with initials Khun Chai M. He was filmed by a fan saying he was very sick and admit in the hospital. With less than an hour ago, a paparazzi secretly took pictures and saw a rising star actor with the initial J. gó to take close care of him. Feeding rice and water to this man who couldn't eat on his own, as if his arm was injured. Everyone is watching to see if he is the real sweetheart.

Not MingJoe at the hospital making it into the tabloids. Mike is constantly saving his family's reputation like acquiring a carpet factory to cover the illegal loan debacle of Tong 😭 My favorite piece of information is probably Ming reducing his work as an actor because the wages is not enough to let him eat Omakase every day 🤣 But also the fact that it's "open casting", let the director have final choice in casting, the series name, I just know it's a reference to My Stand-In production process itself 🥹

you sighed in relief as you unlock the door of your apartment. it was some time since you saw your boyfriend any other way than on a screen, so it was no surprise the two of you ran into each other's arms as soon as you crossed the door.

it had been some time since you went on a date because of your respective job, which both were time consuming, but it only made every encounter more unique.

"i'm home!" you sing as you enter the room. you barely had the time to close the door your boyfriend ran to hug you.

"missed ya a whole bunch sunshine, glad you're finally home" hobie said as he shoved his head into your shoulders and covered your face in soft kisses.

he stepped back a bit from the hug and cupped your face.

"you're wonderful my love" he whispers, "i missed you so much."

"i know, i know" you say with a smirk. "i missed you too."

"oh! by the way! now that you're here i have a surprise for you!" he suddenly remembered

he held your hand as the two of you went walking down the streets.

you couldn't help but smile as he told you random anecdotes on his daily spiderman activities: the time he got in a fight with miguel, the time miles got in a fight with pavitr because he kept saying chai tea and so on...

hobie was... different with you. when you were with him in the haedquarters (hehe you being a journalist was actually a cover for you being a spiderperson :3) he seemed rough and careless, but when he was with you he was sweet,caring - quite the opposite you knew him as.

"aaand there!" he said as you reached a small shop. "after you!"

the buzzing sounds of what seemed tattoo machines greeted you as you entered the small building.

"is this some kind of piercing shop?" you ask in disbelief.

"yup" said your boyfriend. " i remember the time you said how much you wanted a septum piercing, so as soon as i knew you'd come back to town today i took an apointment! plus the person who makes the piercings is someone you know vey well"

hobie took you to a small room with dimmed colorful lights.

"pav??? what the fuck are you doing here??" you said before hugging your best friend. "i didnt know you worked here"

"ask your boyfriend, he's the one who invited me over!" pavitr said cheerfully.

ngl i'm lazy to write the piercing scene because that'd be uninteresting so like- the following scene is you and hobie going out of the piercer

"waaaa this is so pretty :OO" you say noticing your brand new septum piercing. " so you were just planning this along when you couldn't stay on the phone?" you remark amused.

as the two of you walked back home, you noticed something strange on your boyfriend's expression. you couldn't quite put your finger on it, but he sure looked happy.

I'm being tagged in a post that's saying, "Masks don't work, you're wasting your time". I'm about to have breakfast. I'm reading Trump's tweet calling COVID the China virus. They're gonna take that shit out on me. I'm counting only four masks that I have made today, yet requests for 57 masks. "Hi, Kristina. My nurse unit…" Make that 107 mask requests have rolled in. "Yes, it would be an honor. No, no, no. You're the hero". I'm typing, "Friends. I need your cotton fabric. I need your bed sheets, your shirts. Help". "Hi, Kristina. I have a sore throat. I think it's COVID, can you send me a mask?". Okay. Is everybody a fucking hypochondriac right now? Huh? Just because you had a cold once does not mean you're immunocompromised, come on. I'm reading about how CNN's Chris Cuomo has COVID. As is my friend, Jennifer, now hospitalized in New York. As is another friend's mother. "Yes. I would be honored to make you these masks. PERCH!! I'm deadass in the middle of compiling a RiverClan fishing guide, along all these other projects. There's fish never mentioned in canon that should absolutely be here aughh

But I'm getting ahead of myself; let's get you that Perch and Gorse.

Perch (Perca fluviatilis) = Hopa A perch is a green fish with black stripes, a big dorsal ridge, and ginger fins. They can get very big, but never pose a threat to a swimming warrior. Large perch have to be grappled with, small ones can be dragged in with a paw. A staple of the RiverClan diet.

THE THREE GORSES

ALL three of these are the same plant. Common Gorse (Ulex Europaeus) is the most common plant in WindClan, BAR none. And listen up-- this stuff is INTERESTING.

It smells like coconut. It's thorny. It's flammable. And most of all? It's fuckin' Yellow. Gorse is ALWAYS blooming somewhere, even through winter. WindClan is a very vibrant place because of it, and BECAUSE they are around Gorse constantly, they have three words for it.

Gorse, in general = Chai Just any old gorse bush, in any state.

Whin, gorse that is not blooming, possibly dead = Faichi This is gorse that doesn't give off a strong smell to hide a rabbit... and is also very flammable. You do not want to see a ton of Faichi around in a drought. If you do... WindClan starts running fire evacuation drills, and prohibits the use of personal cooking fires.

Furze, gorse that is blooming vibrantly, obviously healthy = Loleen Comes from Lush Green + Dandelion Yellow. Bright, healthy, smelly gorse.

CTS B Question 2 (Week 12)

Looking back at the activity done in Week 10, my artistic vision statement was “I aspire to be a designer who can work for something that I love and have passion for. I hope to be able to develop my distinct style that can easily be recognised as my own by other people the moment they see my work.” 

I think that my artistic vision statement can be correlated with the topic covered in weeks 4 & 5’s lesson on Analysing Artistic Traditions and Lineages. An example of a work of design under this theme would be National Language Class (1959) by Chua Mia Tee.

This painting was done using oil on canvas, with its dimensions being 112 x 153 cm. Chua Mia Tee is regarded for having a social realism painting style and his illustrations on Singapore's progressing cultural and urban landscape. This particular painting is one of his most iconic paintings as it features a group of Chinese students learning Malay, one of Singapore’s newly chosen national languages at the time, making it a crucial stage in Singapore’s history.

According to an article by the National Arts Council, “Chua is renowned for his oil paintings of scenes of traditional life and significant events in Singapore’s history.” By revolving his works around iconic events in Singapore and having a clear focus, Chua Mia Tee was able to strengthen his identity as an artist, making his works eminent.

Some other artists that have art styles that also fall under the category of social realism include Wee Kong Chai, Lim Yew Kuan, Lee Boon Wang, and Tan Tee Chie. However, even though these artists have the same category of art style when compared side-by-side, there are still aspects of each artist’s work that distinguish them from the other in terms of the chosen colour scheme or brush strokes, making them each unique regardless.

An example could be seen in the first work below titled "Working Class Family" by Wee Kong Chai, whereby he uses a lot of cool-toned colours in his paintings. His brush strokes are also rougher and more distinct in comparison to other artists like Lee Boon Wang and Chua Mia Tee.

As such, this lesson’s topic on Analysing Artistic Traditions and Lineages has helped me examine various artists and the style they use in their artwork, as well as the meanings behind them, constituting their overall art style for which they are known. 

This, in turn, has helped me realise the kind of aspects that make up a designer’s art style, allowing me to further reflect on the kind of work I want to produce, the mediums I would want to use, and the kind of messages I would want to portray. By asking myself these questions, I am reformulating what I want to focus on and accomplish as a designer.

Facing a significant budget shortfall, Center Theatre Group on Thursday announced that it would lay off about 10% of its full-time staff and pause season programming at the Mark Taper Forum after “Transparent” concludes its run on June 25. The pause is expected to continue through the 2023-24 season, but there is no confirmed end date yet.

Regrettably, we also need to cancel the previously announced tour of Cambodian Rock Band by Lauren Yee and directed by Chay Yew.
