If you're looking for some good music, might I suggest the album The Lost Birds by Christopher Tin?
Composed by Christopher Tin and sung by the amazing vocal group, Voces8, this album is a memorial for extinct species of birds. Poems by Emily Dickinson, Christina Rossetti, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and Sara Tessdale are set to beautiful choral and orchestral music. It's beautiful and it's sad.
Superman/Batman pairings are very fun because they are both very good people but Superman's vibe feels more like the most triumphant parts of Kia Hora Te Marino and Iza Ngomso while Batman's whole thing feels more like a slow double bass cover of The Guardian by Shawn James.
We Choose To Go To The Moon - Christopher Tin feat. Danielle de Niese, Pene Pati, ModernMedieval, Pembroke College Girls' Choir, Royal Opera Chorus, and The Assembly.
Lyrics taken from John F. Kennedy’s Address at Rice University on the Nation's Space Effort, 1962.
We choose to go to the Moon... We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.
“Waloyo Yamoni” might be the best closer ever, or at least it trumps everything in my top ten. It’s simply beautiful in every way, and it has such an explosive energy. Christopher Tin really outdid himself with it.
The only track I can think of that may come close to beating it is “Knee 5,” another incredibly beautiful and climactic peice. Both have moved me to tears. Both are fitting ends to the works they accompany. But “Waloyo Yamoni” is just so good.
I love this modern classical <3 I got this album and it is all about the current loss of birds and the species we already lost. OMG it is pretty but my heart!
