As Time Moves On
So you see, time is the thing.
It marches on as does the glut of watch ads
One has to face on Facebook daily.
But I realize I don't really want their wares.
No, I don't want the automatics that wind
And set themselves while I sleep or work out
In the fitness center. I don't want the chronometers,
The quartz movements made in Japan, or the Swiss
Mechanized infinity titanium and sapphire movements.
Just give me a reliable Mickey Mouse Classic
Vintage $44.54 watch —You know, the one with the hour
And minute arms that, well, tell me the time straight away
Without a screen display that befuddles with its super tech gizmos
That only combat jet pilots or Mount Everest climbers might need.
Yeah, give me the simple, functional pieces of wrist ware that will guide
Me through the day so I will know when checkout
Time finally rolls around. To Mickey, I promise to faithfully
And responsibly wind you when you so beckon so that
We are both in the fourth dimension together.

so, fablehaven/dragonwatch friends. I've got a fic idea, but im not sure if anyone would actually be interested in it. And I don't wanna spend time writing something if no one reads it
Ok with that out if the way. The idea is that post fablehaven book 5 pre dragonwatch. Kendra ends up back at the start of fablehaven book 2, in her body of that time. (Probably through some accident with the chronometer.) It would follow her having to fully understand what happened and them deal with the consequences. Would most likely follow her through the end of fablehaven and depending on how it goes. Maybe dragonwatch.

250 years military maritime sea clocks
2023 marks the 330th anniversary of John Harrison's birth but also the 250th anniversary since the last bit of Longitude Prize money was awarded by British parliament.
In 1773, 80 years old English clock maker John Harrsion was awarded the final amount of Prize money for his " seawatch n° 1 " H4 clock which solved the Longitude problem.
Harrison had been working half a century to perfect his watches . Note the great details in these paintings, with Harrison holding John Jefferys watch and his own H4 clock on the table besides him.
As Great Britain asserted its position with France and had to avoid these precious time keepers could be caught by Spanish or Dutch navy ships, copies of Harrison H4 were sent on sea trials.
A time of sextants and clocks, while today's rise of technology has isolated us from the natural World, unfortunately much to our detriment.
