kinda funny how most programmers would prefer to not have to touch apple products with a ten-foot pole but if you talk to basically any designer over like 25 they'll swear up and down and backwards to friday that nothing could ever hold a candle to any apple product
#part of this is probably tied into the adobe suite/creative cloud being made mostly just for apple. for some reason.#so it doesn't work as well on windows and the app versions for android are pitiable#idek if you can use it on linux at all#i'm a designer btw but I'm definitely in the programmer camp#smh adobe get your freaking ACT TOGETHER I DON'T EVEN LIKE PHOTOSHOP BUT I'D SURE LIKE IT A LOT MORE IF IT WORKED ON MY COMPUTER#you're telling me I can render 3D modeling in maya just fine but I can't use the blur tool in photoshop without it crashing????#what kind of sick joke.....#apple v windows v linux#computer os#computers#programming#designers#adobe creative cloud

What is Cloud Computing ?
Cloud computing has become a widely discussed topic in recent years, but explaining it in simple terms to someone without a background in computer science can be challenging. Allow me to break it down for you.
Cloud computing is a method of storing and accessing data and programs over the internet, rather than keeping them on your personal computer or mobile device. To illustrate this, let's consider online email services like Gmail or Outlook. When you use these services, you can access your emails from anywhere because they are stored in the cloud. This means you don't need to install any special software or save your messages on your hard drive. Instead, your emails are stored on remote servers owned by companies like Google or Microsoft. You can access them from any device connected to the internet, regardless of your location.
Understanding Servers in the Cloud
Now, let's delve into the concept of servers in the cloud.
The data stored in the cloud is saved on physical servers, which are powerful computers capable of storing and processing vast amounts of information. These servers are typically housed in data centers, which are specialized facilities that accommodate thousands of servers and other equipment. Data centers require significant power, cooling, security, and connectivity to operate efficiently and reliably.
Microsoft and Google are two of the largest cloud providers globally, and they have data centers located in various regions and continents. Here are some examples of where their data centers are located, according to search results:
Microsoft has data centers in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
Google has data centers in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.

Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
Thursday 17th august 2023
Dad has got me trying to get the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification! If you know me, I love my name on certificates so I am trying it out! I haven't been too much into cloud computing so I guess this is a good opportunity to actually learn and see what it's all about.
I know the bare basics that it's storing things not at the company?? Like at work, they store everything in Azure. Again, I may be wrong with the definition - that's why I'm learning!
Learning new things can be fun! ĖĖŹ(Ā“ā”`)ÉĖĖ

Definitely not them. While the AI and crypto bullshit is mentioned, they don't mention the CEO of Brave was CEO of Mozilla (Firefox's parent company) for less than two weeks and in that time multiple people stepped down or resigned out of protest because of his financial contributions opposing same-sex marriage.
Among other issues with Brave:
They were caught injecting affiliate codes into URLS to get money.
Scraped and sold people's data and copyrighted material to train AI and went out of their way to hide this.
Installed a program on people's computers without their consent.
Injected sponsored ads into people's browsers to make money.
They've also run ad campaigns multiple times shitting on Firefox and Firefox users.
I would not touch them whatsoever given the history, how shady they are, and how much of a chud the CEO is. Crypto and AI are the least of the issues with them, imo.
Note - Weāve updated this post with more tools and clarifications!
Every day, there seem to be more reasons to break up with Google.
So weāve rounded up a bunch of privacy-centric alternatives for all your deGoogling needs.
Check out the full list over on the blog!

#sadly non-chromium browsers are few and far between because that's what a monopoly does#your options are basically firefox/a fork of firefox or something else using the gecko engine like the mullvad browser#if you're a mac user iirc safari is a decent alternative that isn't chromium though#but definitely avoid brave#i also wouldn't use an office program that only has/defaults to cloud saves since cloud save = your stuff on someone else's computer#which is a privacy thing but having it locally also means you aren't screwed if your internet goes down#you can get programs that automatically save locally and have the option for a cloud save to the service of your choosing if you want that#instead of it being on servers you didn't choose with no way to change to something else#also if the only option is a subscription you're paying for ongoing access to your own stuff#buying a dedicated program for a one-time fee may be more money up front but you don't get locked out from access#and odds are it will be cheaper than a subscription in a year or less anyway
