love and a little motivation
synopsis in which yn needs just a little more motivation pairing nonidol!jeon wonwoo x gn!reader genre university au, fluff, comfort, wonwoo being wonwoo and giving reader the support they need warnings terms of endearment, talks about uni and grades (a little about law), jokes about dropping out, let me know if theres anything i missed word count 0.5k
notes: i started uni a month ago and honestly, commercial law has been kicking my ass lately so here's something i wrote about it HAHAHA i hope yall enjoy ! ꨄ
“Won, can we go home already?” you begged your boyfriend, leaning against his shoulder.
“No, yn. Hurry up and finish your work, then we’ll go home,” Wonwoo said, deadpanning as he continued to focus on his computer screen.
“But I can't concentrate anymore. The words are getting foggy and starting to swirl around,” you exaggerated, trying to appeal to his sympathy.
“Yn, you know that when we get home, you won’t touch your work. You’ve been doing so well this semester. Just a few more weeks, and we’ll be free, love,” he said, finally looking up at you with a reassuring smile.
Your grades had been steady throughout the semester, but with finals approaching, your motivation was slipping. To help keep you on track, Wonwoo had been bringing you to the library every day. He knew how much you dreaded studying, but he also knew that the thought of a bad grade was even worse.
“Wonwoo, how about I finish this worksheet and then we go home?” you tried to negotiate, but Wonwoo wasn’t budging.
“No, yn. Complete all the work your professors assigned, especially the one Mr. Kim gave you,” he insisted. He knew commercial law was your weakest subject — a class he was also taking, though he excelled in it.
“You know what? How about I drop out and start working part-time until you graduate and get your dream job? Then you can take care of me?” you joked, trying to lighten the mood.
Wonwoo looked at you and smiled. “I’d agree to that, but your parents wouldn’t be pleased, would they?” he teased. “Come on, you’ve rested enough. Finish up your work, and we can go.”
You pouted and turned back to your computer screen, your law textbook open to dense paragraphs about contract laws and the necessity of offer acceptance - something you seriously didn't understand.
Seeing you struggle, Wonwoo finally caved. “Okay, how about if you finish up your work, I’ll cook your favorite meal and run you a bath with your favorite bath bomb?”
At the promise of that reward, you looked at him with renewed energy. “Deal!” you quickly agreed, diving back into your work. There were still a few questions where you needed Wonwoo’s help, but at least you got everything done.
“Babe, I'm finally done!” you exclaimed a bit too loudly, drawing a few curious stares. You didn’t care in the slightest.
“Really?” Wonwoo asked, reviewing your work with a thorough glance. He looked up, impressed. “I’m proud of you, yn,” he said warmly.
“Couldn’t have done it without you,” you said with a smile, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“Let’s go home, have dinner, and relax. You’ve earned it,” he said, standing up and packing away his things.
As you gathered your things, you turned to Wonwoo with a grin. “I can’t wait for your famous bibimbap. Could you make some naengmyeon too?” you asked hopefully.
“Sure, anything for you, love,” he replied, taking your hand as you both walked out of the library together, looking forward to a delicious meal and a relaxing evening.

What men bred for.
2. Guards
The alien masters never imagined that there are such versatile and easy-to-tame highly intelligent animals in the universe. Well, compared to the masters, the people on earth are actually inferior in intelligence.

The masters' scientists originally only developed breeds for military use, carefully selecting suitable genes so that the humans bred would be strong, aggressive, but united and obedient male individuals.
However, with military success, public opinion began to demand the development of breeds that could also be used by civilians, so breeds that were smaller, more independent, but still highly obedient to their owners were developed. They were also implanted with nanobots when they were young adults, so that their bodies could better meet the needs of their owners. At the same time, control helmets are also installed. Of course, they absolutely obey their owners, but they still need consciousness control to prevent them from attacking each other.

They are kept by many owners as pets and guards, just like humans kept dogs in the past. They take pride in pleasing and being appreciated by their owners, who can make them very excited and proud just by touching their bodies. If they perform outstandingly, such as helping their master fight off robbers or thieves, or assisting in hunting, completing various daily tasks, etc., their master will upgrade their bodies as a more glorious reward.
Master’s scientists have also discovered that when the physical parts of human males of this breed are covered in tight rubber and artificial leather, they will be extremely excited and even fall into a euphoric state, which is only seen during the mating period of primitive species.

Scientists are still unable to explain the exact reason why male humans have physiological reactions to rubber and leather, but they have been widely used commercially to improve the maneuverability and work performance of human guards.
In addition, a new type of guards that first covers the whole male body in a rubber bodysuit , then strengthens the body with nanotechnology, and finally covers it with armor has been put into production. The consciousness of these guards is extremely pleasurable, and their bodies are controlled like puppets by microcomputers implanted in the back of their necks. They will soon be assigned to law enforcement agencies everywhere to protect, serve, and obey forever.

An Illicit Affair
Part Two: Jazz Bar
Pairing: Cillian Murphy (46) x Reader (23)
Warning: Age-Gap, Taboo Relationship, Infidelity
The jazz concert took place in a small bar, downtown Soho. It was a Thursday evening, at around 9 o'clock, when you arrived at the establishment with the view to meet your best friend and fellow student Lucy there. Lucy was two years older than you and you shared a dorm room with her on campus.
Just like you, Lucy was nerdy and focused on her studies, telling you years ago that you should not have gotten involved with Max but, of course, you did not listen to her at the time.
That evening, Lucy stood you down, not intentionally but out of necessity. She had an assignment due the following day and recognized that she had not spent enough time on its content.
So, at around nine that evening, you received a message from her saying that she had to bail on you, leaving you alone in the quirky bar which, by now, was filled with art students, middle aged men and women and a few musicians.
Still, you were determined to make the most of the night. After all, your favorite band was playing, and this alone encouraged you to order yourself a drink and take a seat close to the stage.
A few minutes later, the band started a lively tune, and soon everyone began dancing.
You found yourself swaying to the rhythm, feeling the energy of the crowd enveloping you and, just as you were starting to get lost in the music, you spotted a familiar face.
It was Cillian, Max's father, who was standing near the bar, nursing a glass of red wine.
The sight of him jolted you, sending a wave of mixed emotions coursing through your veins. You hadn't seen him since that fateful weekend in Dublin over fifteen months ago, and the memory of his captivating blue eyes and mesmerizing voice lingered within you. You watched him from afar, unable to tear your gaze away.
Cillian appeared to be engrossed in a conversation with a group of people, but every once in a while, he would glance around the room, scanning the faces of the attendees.
That's when his gaze landed on you and he excused himself from the group of people he was with.
Approaching you with purpose, he smiled warmly. "Y/N, hey...it's nice to see you again," he greeted you. "How have you been?" he wanted to know and, immediately, his deep voice resonated through your body, stirring a familiar spark within you.
"I'm doing well, thank you," you responded, trying to remain composed. "How about you?" you asked before asking "what brings you here tonight?" with some surprise.
"Oh, I saw that this band was performing and thought I'd check them out," Cillian explained casually with his thick Irish accent.
"Are you in London for work or to see Max?" you asked Cillian, trying to keep your voice steady.
"I am here for work, shooting a commercial, but I did catch up with Max yesterday for dinner," Cillian answered. "He seems to be doing well, even though he dropped out of medical school," he explained, and you couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness knowing that you may have been the reason he quit his studies.
"I am sorry Cillian, I feel like I caused this," you admitted hesitantly, remembering the countless arguments you had with him about his lackadaisical attitude towards academics right before the break-up.
"No, you didn't. If anything, he hung in there as long as he did because of you," Cillian reassured you. "He is a good kid, but he lacks the discipline and commitment for such a difficult field of studies, and I must admit that, so did I, when I was his age," he chuckled before telling you that, at the age of twenty, he dropped out of law school.
"Well, fortunately for you, you discovered acting and that clearly turned out to be your calling," you said with a wink and Cillian laughed heartily, his eyes twinkling mischievously.
"That's right, I guess," he agreed, sipping on his wine. "So, no doubt Max will find his way too, at least once he gets over you," he then added calmly before gesturing towards the chair next to yours, wanting to take a seat.
"I am sure he is over me. It's been a year already and I see him quite often on campus these days. He may have transferred to the Arts Faculty, but he is still chatting up and flirting with the medical students," you joked before indicating to Cillian to take the seat.
"He's a charmer, that's for sure," Cillian said with a hint of pride in his voice. "So, tell me," he leaned in closer, his scent intoxicating, "have you narrowed down your field of practice yet? Are you still interested in pediatrics?" Cillian asked you, his eyes sparkling with interest. "I mean, you mentioned it the last time we saw each other, but have you decided on anything yet?" Cillian pressed further, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I suppose that's accurate," you replied, feeling a surge of nervousness wash over you. "Pediatrics is definitely the direction I'm leaning towards, particularly oncology research."
"Oncology? That's fascinating," Cillian remarked, his eyes widening.
"Why oncology specifically?" he pressed, genuinely curious. "Is it because of your friend who battled leukemia? I remember you talking that," he went on to say and you were impressed by the fact that he remembered. Unlike Max, Cillian appeared to be a good listener and you appreciated that.
"Yes, that's right. Ever since visiting my friend in the hospital, I've been fascinated by the idea of using science to combat diseases. Research gives me the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of healthcare," you explained earnestly.
Cillian tilted his head, studying you closely. "Your dedication is admirable," he complimented, admiration glimmering in his eyes, and you blushed faintly, feeling flattered by his praise.
"Thank you, Cillian," you mumbled shyly before downing the rest of your drink.
"Would you like another drink?" Cillian thus asked, being observant, as he settled into the chair, his scent wafted over you, a mix of expensive cologne and freshly laundered linen. "My shout," he then went on to say as he noticed you hesitating and, immediately, you suppressed a shiver, suddenly aware of the intimate setting you'd created.
"Okay," you muttered nervously, gazing down at your empty glass. "Thank you," went on to say and, not long after that, Cillian walked off and instructed the bartender, handing over his credit card.
When he returned to the table, you both fell quiet again, awkwardly staring at the dance floor. The band played a slow, bluesy number, and couples danced intimately beneath the dim glow of the stage lights.
Feeling increasingly uneasy, you attempted to change the subject. "How is Danielle?" you asked, swirling the wine in your glass.
Cillian hesitated, his expression clouding over. "Alright, I suppose," he muttered, a hint of melancholy creeping into his voice.
"Alright, you suppose?" you asked, raising an eyebrow. The way he answered your question seemed absurd.
"Yeah, well, things aren't exactly smooth sailing with us," he admitted reluctantly. "We have been having problems for years," he confided in you, causing your heart to skip a beat.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," you sympathized, genuine concern etching your features. "Max did mentioned about you fighting a lot," you commented cautiously, careful not to cross any boundaries.
Cillian exhaled deeply, his shoulders drooping slightly. "We've been trying to work things out but it hasn't been easy," he confessed, his voice laced with sorrow. "Sometimes it feels like we're stuck in a cycle of misunderstandings, accusations and resentment," he admitted.
"I may have heard about certain rumors, in the tabloids, concerning you and other actresses," you ventured delicately, "but I know that these gossip magazines tend to blow things out of proportion," you quickly added just as Cillian chuckled and interrupted you.
"I didn't take you to be the kind of person who reads these kinds of magazines Y/N. I am really disappointed in you," he mocked, giving you a sideways glance, which made you blush.
"I don't, unless I am at the hairdressers and my phone is running low on battery," you admitted, meeting his gaze. "And I know the press loves to feed on drama," you added defensively, trying to cover up the embarrassment.
"Well then, for what it's worth, I can assure you that I have never cheated on my wife," Cillian stated plainly, his eyes locked on yours. "Not that I haven't had the opportunity though," he admitted without hesitation, his honesty striking you speechless.
"I am sure you have had many opportunities," you commented lightly, shifting uncomfortably in your seat.
"Maybe not many, but I had some," Cillian laughed before changing the topic to something lighter.
"What about you?" he asked. "Have you met anyone new since you broke up with Max?" he wanted to know before apologizing for his question, telling you that you did not have to answer it if it made you uncomfortable.
You swallowed nervously, your pulse quickening at the mention of your former lover. "No, it's okay," you told him. "I haven't had much time for dating," you lied, fiddling with your napkin. "Med school takes up most of my time," you added, not wanting to reveal the truth that no one had caught your attention since Max, at least not yet.
Cillian nodded sympathetically. "I can imagine," he said, before pausing briefly, watching you sip your drink before continuing with caution. "So, besides med school, what keeps you busy?" he questioned, curiosity burning in his eyes.
You sighed softly, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear. "Not much, honestly," you confessed, shrugging nonchalantly. "I mean, there's the occasional date with friends, dinners with family, and that's pretty much it," you admitted. "I can't lie though, it does get lonely sometimes," you revealed, peering down at your lap.
"I get like this when I am away filming for weeks," Cillian shared, nodding sympathetically. "When the loneliness creeps in, it makes you feel so isolated, doesn't it?" he asked, sounding genuinely concerned.
"Yeah, absolutely," you agreed, your voice barely audible. "I've learned to appreciate moments like these, though, because they remind me how precious human connection truly is," you confided in him, reaching to clasp your hands together.
Cillian gazed at you, his gaze softening. "It must be tough, being so dedicated to your studies. How do you manage to balance everything?" he pondered aloud.
"I've developed strategies to cope. For instance, I set aside time for myself each day, whether it's going for a run or reading a book," you admitted, your voice trailing off and it was at this point that you learned that you shared even more common interests with Cillian.
He, too, liked to go for runs and read, and not just scripts for upcoming projects. He enjoyed historical fiction as well as thrillers, and his literary horizons were broad. You found this refreshing, considering how insular and self-involved actors could be.
After ordering more drinks, you and Cillian talked some more and shared some laughs. Your conversations flowed effortlessly, covering various subjects ranging from books you both loved to visit places you hoped to travel to someday. Cillian spoke passionately about the beauty of Ireland and its rich history, while you eagerly described your fascination with Italy, having taken a trip there during your gap year.
You exchanged stories, sharing experiences both past and present, discovering more similarities between the two of you. Cillian was intrigued by your intelligence and wit, while you admired his charm and charisma. The chemistry between you intensified, growing stronger with each passing moment.
By the time it was midnight, the group of people he had talked to earlier left and the music had stopped, which is when Cillian reached across the table to refill your glass from the bottle of wine he had ordered thirty minutes ago and, just as he did, his fingers brushed against yours, igniting a spark that neither of you could ignore.
An awkward silence ensued, but instead of dissipating quickly, it grew thicker with tension.
Cillian's intense gaze bore into you, leaving a trail of goosebumps along your arms. You glanced at the stage, searching for a distraction, but the band had packed up their instruments and left.
Cillian cleared his throat, breaking the silence. "Well, time flies when you' are having fun," he murmured, his voice husky and seductive. "It is nice talking to you, but it is getting late," he added, checking his watch conspicuously. "And I should probably head back to the hotel," he concluded and you blinked twice.
"Where are you staying?" you blurted out impulsively, catching yourself off guard by your sudden curiosity.
"At the Hilton," Cillian replied simply, adjusting his posture in his seat. "It's not far from here, actually," he added, his voice drifting into a contemplative tone.
You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, contemplating your next move. "That's convenient," you murmured, attempting to sound casual. "I have heard that they have a decent bar downstairs," you stammered, feeling your cheeks flush with embarrassment.
Cillian chuckled softly, his eyes glinting mischievously. "They do. So, perhaps we should grab a nightcap before you are heading home," he offered you almost nervously, causing your heart to race.
"I would like that," you said softly, offering him a gentle smile, hoping that he would interpret it correctly.
With a nod, Cillian rose from his seat, his frame casting a shadow over you. He extended his hand, helping you to your feet. You felt the warmth of his touch and the strength of his grip, and your knees weakened slightly.
As you followed him towards the exit, the crowd parted, making way for you two as if silently acknowledging the magnetic pull between you two.
Once outside, the cool air hit you, a stark contrast to the heat inside the bar.
The neon signs cast a hazy glow on the cobblestone streets, and the distant hum of traffic blended seamlessly with the whispers of passersby. A sense of excitement pulsed through you as you allowed your senses to heighten, embracing the intoxicating atmosphere.
You and Cillian headed for the Hilton, which was a five-minute walk from the jazz club.
As you approached the hotel lobby, the ambient lighting and plush furnishings provided a cozy refuge from the chilly night air but, much to your disappointment, you noticed that their bar was already closed.
"I suppose we won't be having that nightcap after all," you lamented, pouting your lips while Cillian contemplated whether or not to ask you to join him in his room.
He bit his lip, looking up at the ceiling before making a decision.
"We could always go to my room and order a bottle of wine," he then suggested, his voice trembling slightly. "If you want to, that is," he added hastily, turning his gaze onto you and, immediately, your heart skipped a beat, your breath hitching as you stared into his deep blue eyes.
"Okay, yeah, why not," you managed to utter, feeling a rush of nerves wash over you. "Just for one drink though," you insisted, hoping to ease your mounting anxiety while Cillian's piercing blue eyes lighted up.
"Sounds perfect," he agreed, leading you towards the elevator bank with a pang of guilt flooding his mind as he thought about the possibility of taking this further than his vows would permit. "Just one drink then," he thus reminded himself as he pushed the button for the top floor, hoping that his loyalty to Max and Danielle would prevail over the desire for you.

Hey chronivac suppot. I got the app about a week ago, around the same time my targeted ads started recommending me custom wrestling singlets and gym shorts. I didn’t know why I would be getting these ads, but because it happened around the time I got the app I thought maybe it was connected. I haven’t even opened the app before I checked the ad settings, so I know I haven’t made any changes… but for some reason chronivac has permission to alter my browser history and recommend ads based on randomly assigned presets? Not gonna lie, I have been thinking about stocking up on some wrestling gear…
Gah, what am I saying? Can you help fix this problem? Thanks!
This is another one of those somewhat complicated cases. Although it is actually disabled by default, your app had "Allow Bluetooth communication with other users" set at least shortly after activation. And one of the users was obviously the coach of the wrestling team. And he gave you a preset over Bluetooth. I know Coach Wilson pretty well. We had a one-on-one training session once… Shit, I hope I still have his number somewhere, I wouldn't mind repeating that… But that doesn't belong here. Although Coach Wilson does have one hell of a hot ass. Anyway, you obviously, intentionally or accidentally, accepted and activated the preset.
Did you have any stress with any of the team beforehand? Or with Coach Wilson himself? Normally he only uses the setting when someone has made fun of one of his lads or of wrestling as a sport in general. In any case, the ads for wrestling gear are just the beginning. Haven't you noticed that you have posters of wrestlers hanging in your study? Or that you follow half the wrestling team on Instagram? And they follow you? And that you get a boner when you see the commercials. Fuck, now just try out how it feels to put on a singlet! Where to get one? Look in your closet, you stupid idiot!
When you get home, you want to call the police first. It doesn't necessarily look like someone broke in. But it looks like a bomb has gone off. Actually, you are a model of order and cleanliness. But the kitchen is full of dirty dishes. There are half-empty and empty cans of protein powder everywhere. It smells a bit like a locker room. You're about to go into your dressing room to see if there really is a singlet in your closet when Chuck yells at you to knock. Damn, where did you get the crazy idea that you had your own dressing room. The apartment has five rooms, which you share with three of your fellow students who are on the wrestling team with you. Wait, you've been out of university for a long time, you're a junior partner in a law firm. This is your apartment. You're about to go into your study and call the police from there when you see the sock on the doorknob. Hehehe, Mike managed to get the hot guy from the lacrosse team to come over.
Dude, your head is spinning. You go to your bedroom. Yeah, that's right, this is your room. Whew! It smells like a cougar cage. The bed is not made yet. You take the pillow and press it against your face. Fuck, you can still smell Coach Wilson's sweat. You can only hope that the other lads haven't noticed that Coach has been fucking you to the hilt. But they were still celebrating the tournament victory yesterday, Coach was long gone when the lads got home. Only his singlet he left here. Fuck, the stench is just brimming with masculinity. Sure, Coach is a size bigger than you, but you just have to try the singlet on.
Fuck, Coach's singlet fits you like a glove. You directly add some of your own to the stains from his precum. You can't help it, you have to jerk off here and now. You just manage to press one of the hankies from the floor to your cock before you cum the load into the singlet. Just at that moment your door flies open. Chuck probably doesn't knock in revenge for your " invasion" either. He stands grinning in the doorway with his gym bag and asks why you didn't ask him for help. He would have had time for a little wrestling and jerking off. But now you have to hurry, training is about to start. And Coach Wilson will show no mercy if you're late.
Fuck, then you have to go work out in Coach's singlet. It's a little small for you, but it'll do. You just quickly put on a tracksuit and hit the road with Chuck. Because if there's one thing you don't want, it's to fall out of favor with Coach.
Implementation inspired by a suggestion from @nexo-cuffs88 and by the hot picture of @wrestlingdominations

The only problem is you've never run a business by yourself before, and you're not very good with numbers. When you find a monster accountant advertising his services online, you jump at the chance to work with him. The skeleton seems formal, professional, and detached, which is just fine by you. Who needs the distractions of friendships and relationships when you've got a business to run?
Skeletons Like Honey Buns by YinYanChan (Not Rated, Incomplete)
Monsters have always lived on the surface. Just not with humans. Keeping to themselves and living up the hype they are dangerous and wild creatures. Sans and Papyrus are just as guilty. Yet both have been intrigued on how humans have grown... they know better than getting mixed up too much with humans... however... they end up crossing a line and getting severely injured. As a last ditch effort to get away, Rus shortcuts him and his brother away from the aftermath. So wounded they almost end up feral and eating out of a nearby house's trash to try and heal... enter Amelia, your kind hearted daughter, to find it's not trash pandas but spooky scary skeletons... and instead of running to you... she offers them a honey bun.

In Justice We Trust (76501 words) by thesavagesabretooth
catch up here
With Simon Blackquill and Athena Cykes assigned as their psychologists, the Phantom and Fulbright must grapple with their identity, their deeds, their future, and their love for the twisted samurai whom they betrayed.
All the while, Edgeworth and Wright find their relationship tested as they walk the narrow path between pursuing real justice, and the dark age of the law.

December 24, 8:50 pm
14 hours in an airplane was a tiring flight, no matter how excited you were to watch your rockstar bestie film a commercial, and by the time Trucy and the gang shuffled out to go pick up their luggage, even she and Pearl were dragging.
Pearl stumbled, and caught herself on Trucy's shoulder, giving her an exhausted smile. "Oops! sorry about that."
“Oop!” Trucy caught herself from stumbling too, flashing a bright smile at her as she managed to keep them both from toppling over. She yawned. “Don’t worry about it! I’ve never been on a plane like that before. It felt like we were flying forever.”
"Right? And Mr. Nick and Mr. Miles were like, mostly asleep the whole time," Pearl giggled, straightening up a bit in Trucy's arms. "I'm glad we at least got to chat with Kay! Do you think she'll be too busy to go see Klavier with us?"
Trucy put a gloved hand to her lips, her arms around Pearl’s shoulders as they shuffled along. “It was nice to talk to Kay. I’d been wanting to get that pickpocketing secret from her for like, years. Maybe we can ask her? I hope not, I think she’d be over the moon to see it instead of whatever Mr. Edgeworth wants her to do.”
"Same," Pearl nodded. She chewed on her thumb as they waited by the baggage claim for their suitcases to appear. She dropped her voice low. "Whatever it is, they sure aren't excited to tell us about it, huh?"
“Nope…I tried asking Daddy and he went white as a sheet and told me it wasn’t something to worry about." She sniffed in quiet frustration as she watched the baggage belt roll past “which usually means it really is.”
"For real!" Pearl nodded. "Mr. Nick always tries to handle all his problems himself. That's why we always have to butt in and help him, right?"
“Exactly! Just like always, yeah? Because who’s gonna help him if we don’t?” She shook her head. “He really should have learned by now that the more he tries to leave us out, the more we get involved, right?”
"He really should have," Pearl nodded, and continued to chew thoughtfully on her nail. "But um, we'll do that after we go see Klavier, right?”
“Well yeah!” Trucy gave her a squeeze, her hat slipping down her forehead. “Like heck I’m gonna miss his show after he invited us all the way out here! He’d probably cry from a lack of Trucy and Pearl gracing his stage.”
"I bet he would! And that would be awful!"
"Hey ladies!" A voice greeted them from behind. "Need a hand with your suitcases?"
“EEEK!” Trucy jumped, her had leaping a full inch over her head before plopping back down on her brow
"Whoa, whoa, sorry!" Apollo Justice held out his hands apologetically as they both turned around to see him. "I didn't mean to scare you!"
"Well, um, you did!" Pearl pouted. "Gosh make some noise next time…"
Trucy stuck her tongue out.
“Polly, you usually boom everywhere with that voice of yours!” She pointed to him with a grin. “for that you get to carry my bag for me! And Pearly’s too!”
Apollo blinked at her, and pushed his hair back.
"Trucy, I just offered to.-- you know what, never mind. You got it." He laughed and grabbed both their suitcases as they came down the track. "I don't have one to carry right now anyway."
“Really?” Trucy gasped in surprise. “...why didn’t you pack anything, Polly? You’re gonna worry Klavier!”
"No, no, I packed," he explained, hauling the cases across the airport floor as he looked around for Trucy's dad and the rest. "Well– okay technically Athena packed for me. I didn't have any time, so, she's got my suitcase… I hope."
Pearl giggled behind her hands, but Trucy noticed she was watching Apollo carefully. "Gosh, Apollo! Kind of scatterbrained, aren't you?"
"Sorry to disappoint you Miss Pearl."
Pearl meanwhile, glanced significantly over at Trucy, and Trucy remembered what they'd talked about the night before.
Trucy nodded seriously at her, before she put on her best and brightest smile.
“Hey, Apollo…I wanted to ask you something when you got a moment for your favorite little employer.”
"Huh?" He glanced over his shoulder at her. "Um, sure, of course Trucy. Maybe when we're settled at the hotel?"
As Trucy looked at him, she thought, maybe it was a trick of the light but his eyes, and his hair looked darker than usual.
“Hmm…” Trucy’s strange eyes stared him down for a long moment before she broke into a bright smile. “yeah that sounds great!”
December 24, 9:20 pm
At the hotel, Trucy and Pearl hurriedly got comfortable in their room together. They laid out their things, brushed their teeth, checked the channels on the hotel's tv, and giggled with excitement about going to see Klavier the next day.
Soon, Pearl said, "I'm gonna take a shower if you don't mind, Trucy. Are you still planning to talk to Apollo tonight?"
“Of course!” Trucy replied as she leaned up and stretched, using the motion to ease herself to her feet. “I think I’m gonna ask him about the ghost thing…when you channel someone you can see it, right? At least a little.”
"With the Kurain technique of channeling your whole body transforms," she murmured thoughtfully. "I don't know exactly how it works for other types of channeling or possession, but i think you can see it at least a little.."
“I think I saw some of it. Apollo didn’t look…exactly himself.” she murmured to Pearl. “I think it was his friend.”
"I thought that might be the case. Um, Trucy?"
Trucy leaned in with a tilt of her hat as she placed it upon her head .“Yeah Pearly?”
"Be careful, okay? If Apollo doesn't want to talk about it, maybe don't push too much? Um, I don't know him too well, and I didn't know the ghost that's hanging on to him at all– I'm sure he was a nice person, but…" Pearl trailed off nervously.
“But you don’t want me to be ghost murdered?” Trucy said with a serious nod “...I get it. Ghosts can be kinda touchy, right?”
She nodded seriously. "Exactly. Ghosts don't always react like living people, especially if they're not being channeled by someone with experience, or if they don't know they're dead and you make them think about it. They can get um, I think the word I've heard used is 'erratic'."
Trucy shivered as the ‘worst case scenarios’ flashed through her mind. Still, she bonked herself atop the head with a broad grin.
“I promise, Pearly. The minute he starts getting too weird or makes a sudden move, I’ll bonk him with Mr. Hat and make a run for it.”
December 24, 9:30 pm
Apollo was staying in the same room as her Daddy, but she was pretty sure that Daddy was with Mr. Edgeworth in his room, talking about whatever it was she wasn't supposed to know about. Probably a murder. It was usually murder.
Anyway, that meant she was reasonably confident that Apollo would be alone– or as alone as possible given the circumstances– when she knocked on the door, and as luck would have it, she was right.
He popped his head out the door, wisps of unruly hair flopping over his face.
"Hey, Truce!"
“Hel-lo Apo-llo” she sounded out the words with a playful grin, leaning in with a flutter of her cape. “Got some time for your favorite boss?”
"Did my favorite boss send you to ask that?" he teased. "Assuming you mean you– come on in."
“Uh huh.” She stuck her tongue out at him, before she slipped inside. “You haven’t been around as much lately. I’ve missed you!”
Apollo's hotel room was already a mess with Trucy's daddy's things– she saw one of his blue suits laid out over the chair. Apollo stood awkwardly by the desk, and smiled over at her.
"I've missed you too. But it's been quite a week, huh?"
“It’s been crazy.” Trucy agreed, tucking her dark hair over her ear as she shut the door behind her. “I didn’t expect to be traveling halfway across the world so soon!”
"Yeah, tell me about it," Apollo said. He shook his head. "I didn't know until this morning. Feel like I've hardly had a chance to catch my breath."
“Yeah? I know I’m coming to see Klavier~” she mused as she plopped herself up on the table beside him. “Daddy’s also here but he won’t tell me why. Typical. Like he thinks he can actually keep secrets from me.”
"He didn't tell you?" Apollo raised his eyebrows. "So, wait– you didn't think I was coming to see Klavier too, did you?"
Trucy leaned towards him with a shake of her head.
“I’d kinda hoped! But I figured you were here with Daddy…which means you know what’s goin’ on.” She pointed her finger at him. “I wanna know, a secret for a secret, okay?”
He crossed his arms, leaning against the desk. "What do you mean, a secret for a secret?"
“I mean I’ll tell you a secret we noticed in exchange for what Daddy’s doing here, Apollo!”
"I mean, your dad's not going to be happy with me if I tell on him– although I can't imagine it staying a secret for too long with everybody here," he muttered. "...is your secret a good one?"
“It involves you?” Trucy offered with a bright smile.
"It involves me," he repeated, narrowing his eyes. He sighed heavily, and Trucy watched him fidget with his tie, loosening it. "Alright. Fine."
Trucy snuck closer to him, inching over the top of the table with a huge grin. “you first.”
"Okay," he pulled his tie open, leaving it hanging over his vest. Trucy thought she saw his appearance seem to shimmer strangely as he stood there, a far away expression in his face. "You probably guessed it's for a case. Some interpol agents were killed, and Edgeworth wants us to look into it."
Trucy nodded sagely. She took off her hat, and left it on her lap as she hummed.
“Yikes. Sounds like it’s kinda a big deal if Mr. Edgy is getting involved too. So that’s why Daddy’s being secretive about it.” She tilted her head at him. “...Innnteresting. Alright, as payment...about the thing I wanted to tell you…”
"I'm listening," he nodded, his dark gaze flicked toward her.
“We’re secretly brother and sister,” she lied with a wicked grin.
He snorted, and she watched his shoulders jerk in surprise.
"What?" He rubbed his bracelet–it must have pinched him– and looked at her with one eye open, "Trucy, it's not funny to lie about that kind of thing."
She laughed, kicking her feet with an innocent grin on her face before she bopped the top of her head with her tongue out.
“Sorrrryyyy. I was just kidding around! Sorry…but the real thing is ah..” she bit her lip. “Pearly said she saw a ghost in you. Like…you’re possessed.”
His chin jerked up, and his dark gaze fixed on her again. She watched him rub his bracelet again, this time with a different frown written across his face.
"Can you say that again?"
“Pearl says she can see another spirit in you.” Trucy tilted her head to the side, as her hand reached back to rest on Mr. Hat’s mechanism, just in case. “She’s a spirit medium, you know? And I’ll be honest…I’ve kinda noticed too. Sometimes you look just a little different…and act different too.”
He looked away still rubbing his bracelet. He had to know that she wasn't lying.
"Pearl shouldn't make jokes like that."
“It’s not a lie,” Trucy said slowly, “or a joke. Pearl wouldn’t joke about that kinda thing, Polly. I know I can joke around a lot, but I’m being serious when I say I noticed it too…and Pearl super did.”
"I don't want to say anything unkind about Pearl, but I think maybe she's just got an active imagination, and wrapped you up in it, Trucy." Apollo had crossed his arms tightly and protectively over his chest. "I know Pearl was raised to believe in ghosts, but is that something you really believe in, Trucy?"
She stared at him incredulously. “I’ve got eyes that can tell when someone’s lying, and a family of magicians. Plus, Daddy says his old legal assistant Maya used to summon her dead sister into her body all the time to give him pep talks and stuff.”
"Trucy, not to be negative, but 'eyes that see someone lying' is more like weaponized anxiety than anything else. And I know what Mr. Wright says but– I'm serious, Trucy, do you really actually believe in ghosts? You're not 12 you know."
Trucy felt a sting of irritation, causing her to pout as she leaned back on the table.
“Yeah, no shit, Polly. But I’m saying stranger things happen every day…and Pearly says she can see and channel ghosts and I believe her. Did you know?” She pointed to him. “You’re a lawyer, so you super should. The existence of ghosts is a legal fact, dummy. It was proven in court like, 8 or so years ago. They had an exorcism on live tv! Daddy’s nasty ex girlfriend, everyone saw it!”
Trucy knew that Apollo must have seen it too after all, Apollo had hero worshiped her daddy for a long time. That was what he had said, that Phoenix Wright had helped him want to become a lawyer.
"Just because it was accepted as evidence in court doesn't mean it must have been real," he murmured bitterly. "Trucy– I don't want to fight with you. I don't want to make you upset but I– I lost someone really close to me recently, you know? You can't just say things to me like ghosts are real and not expect me to be upset."
Trucy grimaced, looking down with a slight flush of guilt. She gripped her wrist, glancing up at him with her focused eyes.
“I..I know, Apollo. I know you’re hurting, a lot. Trust me.” She shrugged her shoulders gently “I’ve lost a lot of people, too. But…you seem different. Really different, sometimes…maybe I’m a little worried that you don’t think you can trust me to talk about it….or I dunno. You’re going to start getting distant…or whoever’s in there with you will.”
"Trucy," he repeated. He looked at her with absolutely heartbroken, exhausted eyes. "Trucy, I know the last time you lost someone you were really young. But I am grieving, okay? You have to understand that I am going to be different because I'm seriously– I'm seriously messed up about this."
He put his hands on her shoulders and looked at her with a dark, haunted expression. "I'm not going to tell you I haven't been different. I have– I know I have. Even after I made up with Athena. But grief does that, Trucy. Grief can make you somebody else for a while. I can't– I have to– I have to work really hard to get over this big part of my life that's just been torn out of the world forever."
Apollo's voice hitched and broke. His fingers dug into her shoulders. "I have to, okay? I have to work through this, and get over it. I have to. You can't come in here and tell me that when I hear his voice in my head that's real, that that's really him. That's not– that's not healthy, Truce."
His big, haunted dark eyes looked terrified, and were beaded with tears.
Trucy winced under his hands. It wasn’t exactly true that the last time she’d lost someone she cared for was when she was young. She’d seen pictures of her father’s corpse far more recently than that, and pushed herself to smile through the trial, forged evidence and all.
It wasn’t like she forgot what grief felt like, or how badly the gaping hole a loss left could sting.. But she couldn’t help but think that maybe knowing they were there, with you still, was a comfort rather than something unhealthy and hurtful. She liked to imagine Zak Gramarye there in the crowd at every show, clapping proudly as she performed quite literally in his name.
But it was clearly hurting Apollo to even imagine the possibility. She hiccuped, her shoulders shaking.
“S-sorry Polly,” she managed to say, “I just t-thought, you know…it’d be nice if you k-knew it wasn’t forever.”
His fingers dug into her shoulders for another moment, and then he pulled her into a tight hug. She heard him make a choked noise as he held her, and she felt his body shudder.
"Sor–sorry, Trucy," he murmured, holding her tight. "Sorry to be such a bastard about it I just– I can't. I don't know how I'd– sorry."
Trucy rubbed his back, feeling even guiltier.
“You’re not a bastard…Pearl was worried about me sayin’ something. I should have thought a little more before I y-you know…said anything.”
If there was a ghost inside Apollo…it wasn’t erratic…it was hurting.
Apollo swallowed so thickly that Trucy could hear it, and he didn't let go of her, just nodding against her shoulder.
"Can I… can I tell you something, Trucy? Without you thinking less of me?" he murmured.
Trucy nodded against him, holding him tight. “Of course..we both say all kinds of stuff all the time. Nothing you tell me’s gonna make me think less of you, okay?”
He took a breath, rough and raspy, still just holding her, face buried in her shoulder. "Clay wasn't just– he wasn't just my f-friend, Trucy. He was– we were– we were together romantically, y-you know what I mean? Like dating…"
Trucy’s eyes widened in sudden understanding.
That explained a lot, honestly.
“Oh. Oh Apollo…” she bit her lip “I’m sorry…I didn’t know you guys were dating, I didn’t…” She felt even guiltier. This had all been a big mistake. “He seemed like a really great guy.”
He squeezed her again, and she could hear his embarrassment when he said, "it wasn't exactly the kind of thing you talk about at work, you know."
It wasn't exactly something you talked about at work. Her daddy and Mr. Edgeworth didn't talk about it. She hadn't even known for sure that they were together until a little more than a year ago, when she'd been sat down for a 'serious talk'.
It wasn't that it was something illegal, or that it was wrong, per se, but it just… wasn't talked about. It wasn't respected. Certain people wouldn't take you seriously if you 'weren't the marrying type'. It had just always been that way.
Trucy remembered that it had come up at the trial about Aura, and everyone got embarrassed and tried to dance around the subject.
It made sense why Apollo wouldn’t have told her, no matter how absolutely ridiculous she felt the social ‘norm’ was. She knew the way her own heart tended to lean, without heed to the arbitrary line of ‘gender’...and her own attractions.
It just wasn’t something talked about– and Apollo was suffering alone because of it.
“I know what you mean ..but you can talk about that with me. I understand it.” She squeezed him tighter, “I’m sorry, Polly. I’m sorry you lost your boyfriend, and I’m sorry I pushed you on it.”
He took a deep, shuddering breath, and squeezed her again, sniffling. "Thanks, Trucy. I appreciate you understanding…"
“Of course I understand,” she murmured against him, doing all she could to hug him as comfortingly as she could manage. “You can talk about anything with me, okay Polly? Anything.”
He nodded against her, holding her for another minute. Then he took a breath and a step back, arms still on her shoulders.
"Thanks… I'm sorry I snapped at you. I've been barely holding it together this whole week…"
Trucy rubbed at her eyes with one hand, shaking her head. “It’s been a really hard week for you guys…don’t be sorry okay? I pushed a little too hard.”
Apollo squeezed her shoulders more gently this time. "It's okay. I know you just wanted to help."
She smiled at him , her big and bright showstopper of a smile that won hearts at the Wunder Bar. “Because you’re important to me, dork.”
He grabbed the rim of her top hat and pulled it down over her eyes gently. "You too, Truce. Even if I'm kinda shit at showing it right now."
“Wah!!!” Trucy bopped the rim of her hat to knock it back up with a puff of her cheeks. “You’ll get better. Just gotta retrain you on Trucy Wrangling, I guess. Just don’t let yourself fall too deep in your own head.”
She shrugged her shoulders gently.
"I'll do my best," he said, slipping his hands into his pockets and standing awkwardly in front of her. "So… h-hey…"
Trucy tilted her head to the side. “yeah Apollo?”
"If Pearls thinks I have a…" he shifted uncomfortably as he spoke, and she watched him clench his hands in his pockets, "ghost attached to me… what did she want me to do about it? Did she want to.. I don't know, perform an exorcism?"
“No! Of course not!” Trucy put her hand to her lips with a gasp. “No way! She just noticed it and I thought it might…help. To know. You know?”
"So she just wanted to… bring it to my attention, then?" he asked, raising his chin curiously.
“I mean yeah? She didn’t exactly grab my shoulders and go TRUCY WE GOTTA EXORCISE THAT GUY. More like she just pointed it out and I had to agree?”
He rubbed the back of his neck and smiled, his face tearstained and rough. "Well, that's a relief. Here I was worried I'd have to dodge her coming around the corner with spirit charms."
Trucy leaned forward and wiped away some of his tears with her gloved fingers. “Nah, Pearly’s not that kinda girl. She’s nice.”
"Well yeah of course she is. But if she thinks I'm possessed or something she might be convinced the nice thing to do is help me whether i want it or not, right?" He rubbed his face again, and then started to root around the desk for a box of tissues.
“I think she’d probably ask first, Polly.” She wiggled her feet nervously. “Don’t worry. Nobody’s gonna try to kick whatever ghost you totally don’t have with you out. Promise.”
"Alright," he nodded. She watched him wipe his teary face with a tissue. "Frankly, because I think the stress of it might kill me, not because I have a ghost possessing me, understand?"
He gave her a wry smile, but his voice was firm.
Still, Trucy wasn't sure whether he believed it or not.
“Of course!” She flashed her smile again. “We wouldn’t want to add to the ‘are ghosts real’ question by having YOURS around too after you have a coronary.”
"Yeah," he chuckled, rough and pained. "One ghost is too many, but two would be complete anarchy."
December 24, 10:15 pm
Pearl was carefully combing out her long, long, long hair after her shower when Trucy returned to the room after talking to Apollo. She'd only seen it down a few times before– it had to be all the way to her knees, if not her ankles.
"How'd it go?" Pearl asked softly, looking up at her as the door closed.
“Preeeetty bad.” Trucy took off her top hat with the same weighty sigh as her father taking off his tie after a bad day in the courtroom.
"Oooooogh…" Pearl put a hand over her mouth as she frowned. "Nobody's hurt, right?"
“No, nobody got hurt.” Trucy shook her head with a sigh as she plopped herself down next to her, before letting herself fall back against the bed with an ‘oof’. “But he got really upset…told me that it’s not real, and it can’t be…and then got really really nervous that you were gonna try to exorcize the ghost.”
She chewed on her thumb gently. "I was kinda worried about that… we'd better keep an eye on him."

How "famous" are Connor and Kara during the game? What's their public image like?
Nothing major, just some few observations i don't see people talking about. I just wanted to leave this saved in here. Maybe can inspire somebody, who knows.
I won't be talking about Markus cuz his whole deal is exactly the public image in this game, so i'll be only commenting on "CyberLife's new detective prototype" and "the runway AX400".
⚠️ ALERT OF POOR ENGLISH SKILLS AND EXPLANATIONS. I also got a bit of HC here to help expressing my feelings.
-> Kara, the rogue AX400 model
A quick summary: She got a price on her head...and Alice made her life difficult. Don't worry, i gonna explain.
Although having a common face can be an advantage in some infiltrations, Kara's face can also be a target on her back, even if she changed appearance.
Everything start with her escape from Todd (determinant murder). In the night she escapes itself everything was cool tho but there was a big problem: witnesses. She walked into public spaces (like the bus), got a kid by her side, can even steal some stuff and point a gun at people - and ofc these are TRACKS. Want something worse? Her case appears on TV.
If Todd is alive he even gives an interview
Now she's wanted by the law.
People in the region is wary for any AX400 with her likeness, the police is all over the region trynna find someone with the discriptions. A girl with the AX400 likeness, without a LED and in human clothes? IT'S HER.
(she was lucky the guy from the motel didn't insist in her ID)
And u can notice her "disguise" ain't that perfect cuz the police can still recognize her - probably cuz of the fact she looks like an AX400, changed appearance and GOT A KID ON HER SIDE (likely the discription given by the bus guy).
But Kara is also lucky: these types of case are becoming constant. The number of "androids going rogue" rising. Although she's all over the news, she's still a commercial android. If she escapes it's likely people would forget about her after some time cuz there will be another case like this and other suspicious AX400s.
So my bet is "the rogue AX400 on the run" is something well known, but may be forgettable - not the case per se but "WHO" this actually is.
Nobody knows "Kara", only the "dangerous AX400 from the chase" the police struggled. But we got a LOT of AX400s and lotta of 'em gonna go deviant. It's even funny how they especulate the "young woman" and "little girl" are 2 defective machines. These unconfirmed sources are always so fucking shady.
And u see nobody recognizes her outside Detroit (for whatever reason), not even the cop, even with her case on the news. Idk if it was difficult implementing something checking if the police recognized her or not (meaning they would get an update on Kara's "new" appearance).
I guess was something local, her case is public - but her name? Nah. Again: even tho we got disadvantages when spotted in small regions, if she disappears she has just...dissapeared. Even the "Android Crime Unit" gives up her case 😂
-> Connor RK800, CyberLife's new prototype
First of all i think his face was probably in all places after this hostage situation.
Even if he fails, some cut stuff suggests some people remembered him as the android negotiator in Partners (when the 2 chapters didn't had a 2 months time skip).
I bet he was all over the internet too, although i think his name was unknown in that period. The only ones that knew his name was probably the SWAT team - "My name's Connor, i'm the android sent by CyberLife".
And then we got Ortiz's case. Reporters were there and everybody saw an android entering the crime scene (what they ain't supposed to do) with Lt. Anderson - a known figure in the city, quite famous in law enforcement i'd say.
Later in the game is mentioned in the news a new "detective prototype" was assigned to the DPD from several sources, the first case of an android with active role in crime scenes. Also the fact a "Android Crime Unit led by Anderson" was formed. I honestly don't know if they knew Connor's name, but his model series ain't difficult to find out or getting leaked. From there it's even easier getting both information together. For now the public don't know "Connor".
I assume after The Nest and On the Run (where Connor appears in public again and gathers LOTTA attention) everybody already know at least about the RK800 from the hostage situation now working with the Police Department. If it's positive or negative i really don't know, but he def gathered attention esp if he's succesful. The chase on the highway also gets on the news. My bet would be people inside the police department know his name, or at least "Connor, the detective prototype model".
By Public Enemy i assume overall cops know him, like that one that can be saved in The Hostage. He's recognized by his face, model and name. I like imagining after Markus speech was expected Anderson and Connor would be called, after all it's the "Android Crime Unit". Maybe it's limited tho, Perkins doesn't seem to know 'em so i think Connor ain't known in federal level law enforcement. It's at this point i think Connor is starting to make a name as "Deviant Hunter" among the deviants. We've already had The Eden Club murder case, the Ortiz murder case, the Hostage situation, Connor and the police searching for the runway (killer) AX400.
For the average people on the streets i think "RK800 Connor, the CyberLife's latest prototype, the detective model" is already recognized at least if mfs watch the news about androids, and he also got a name in law enforcement - now also known by the FBI.
So yea, i'd say he's quite known but i wouldn't call him a celebrity, esp cuz androids are in a negative pov in this universe. Also ain't cuz Connor is known that he'll also be relevant. "Androids investigating androids?" must be a common question too. In law enforcement it's likely he's "disliked" cuz means androids are now taking active roles from humans, but the public opinion probably print a "protector of human lives" kinda image depending on his succesful actions like the Hostage one (if he saved Emma) and the Stratford Tower one (if he prevented a massacre), but i'd take it with a grain of salt. It raise questions which CyberLife always remain silent and the authorities refuse sayin' something. And what happens when we ain't got official sources? Rumors are spread and opinions are overall divided.
But it's a valid questioning the average folk would have: is Connor really a detective model? Why can he use guns? Why we got androids using weapons now? How do we know he won't turn against humans? How do we know CyberLife ain't pulling 'em strings again? Will androids replace humans in every single space?
Only thing i know is Connor is "recognizable".

From what I am seeing from people on the ground via social media Western North Carolina, and parts of Tennessee, and Georgia took a massive hit from hurricane Helen. Roads are gone, bridges gone, entire towns washed away. News from there is that emergency management agencies won’t go in because the roads aren’t clear. Private pilots in places are being threatened with arrest if they fly helicopters in. Food, water, shelter, and fuel are all desperately needed. So two big things come to mind:
First we have some of the largest corporations in the world, why can’t they step up? Walmart has logistics nailed down. Coke-a-cola, Pepsico, and Conagra, pretty much control the food and beverage industry, can they not shave some profit while doing “I’m not an evil corporation” public relations?
The United States can drop a Burger King in a shipping container in a war zone, can’t these corporations drop some generic commercial kitchens in these cut off areas? I mean food trucks are a thing so I know we could fit a kitchen sponsored by Kimberly Clark in a 20 foot container and I bet if they reached out to John Deere, Caterpillar, Lockheed Martin or Northrup Grumin, one of them could get them just about anywhere even without a road. Heck partner up with Blue Bird, a school bus will go just about anywhere with the right tires!
Can Elon Musk not afford to drop Starlink set ups to survivors? Space-X can launch a rocket and land it on a small pad in the ocean, don’t tell me they can’t deliver supplies to a parking lot. Can Jeff Bezos not use Amazon drones to get food in? Bonus PR if they wave the charges for these folks. Can REI that is so quick to outfit protestors for Occupy Wall Street suddenly not be able to sponsor families with camping gear?
Second, why hasn’t the Army Corp of Engineers been deployed? Or maybe the Seabees? Can we not dispatch a few dozen Chinooks into ferrying supplies and people? Can we not establish MASH units for the injured? The United States Military can deploy anywhere on Earth in 24 hours. Why not Appalachia? I’m not one for martial law but right now too many people in charge are too big for their britches and I think it’s time we assign a general to the job. Why does emergency relief have to come from the Cajun Navy and not the U.S. Navy? Why do the owners of monster trucks get in and out in dangerous times but relief agencies can’t or won’t?
I know some will say the president has to authorize deployment, but so can Congress. We should have learned from Katrina, but obviously we haven’t. Katrina was totally FUBAR and now we are doing it all over again nineteen years later. Is it because our people in power look down on mountain folk? Just as they did the poor people of New Orleans?
There is no way I can make this make sense especially in a time where our leaders send billions to other nations. It is past time for our government and corporations to shift inward, help our people, and do the right thing.

LEGAL VALIDITY OF ONLINE RENTAL AGREEMENTS IN INDIA: WHAT TENANTS AND LANDLORDS MUST KNOW
By LawChef – Delhi’s Trusted Legal Experts for Rent Deed Drafting and Online Agreement Services
📘 INTRODUCTION: RENTAL AGREEMENTS IN THE DIGITAL ERA
Gone are the days when rental agreements required in-person meetings and physical paperwork. In today's fast-paced digital world, online rental agreements are becoming increasingly popular—offering convenience, speed, and paperless execution.
But one major question remains: Are online rental agreements legally valid in India? The answer is yes, provided certain conditions are met under Indian law.
At LawChef, our team of expert lawyers for drafting agreement deed and lawyers for rent deed drafting in Delhi assist clients in creating and validating rent deed drafts—both offline and online—while ensuring they meet every legal requirement.
🧾 WHAT IS AN ONLINE RENTAL AGREEMENT?
An online rental agreement is a tenancy document that is drafted, signed, and stored digitally. It can be executed using:
E-signatures (under the IT Act, 2000)
Aadhaar-based verification
E-stamping (mandatory in many states)
Thanks to our advanced agreement drafting services in Delhi, LawChef helps landlords and tenants complete legal agreements remotely—without compromising on legality or enforceability.
⚖️ IS AN ONLINE RENTAL AGREEMENT LEGALLY VALID IN INDIA?
Yes, online rental agreements are legally valid and enforceable in India if:
The agreement is properly drafted with all necessary clauses
The document is executed on appropriate stamp paper (physical or e-stamp)
E-signatures are used as per the IT Act, 2000
The agreement is registered (if the duration is 12 months or more)
Our lawyers for rent deed drafting in Delhi ensure your online rental agreements are compliant with local laws and recognized in court if disputes arise.
🏷️ E-STAMPING: A LEGAL REQUIREMENT YOU CAN’T IGNORE
In states like Delhi, e-stamping has replaced physical stamp papers for document validation. An unstamped agreement, even if signed digitally, may be inadmissible in court.
At LawChef, we take care of:
Generating valid e-stamps for your rent deed
Integrating stamp value into your rent deed draft
Registering the document if required
Our lawyers for rent matter in Delhi advise that agreements over 11 months must be registered with the sub-registrar to ensure full legal protection.
📄 WHAT CLAUSES SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN AN ONLINE RENTAL AGREEMENT?
Even though the mode of execution is digital, the content of the agreement must still follow legal norms. A well-prepared rent deed draft should include:
Full names and addresses of parties
Property details
Monthly rent, deposit, and payment terms
Duration of the lease/rental
Maintenance responsibilities
Termination notice and penalties
Dispute resolution and jurisdiction clause (e.g., Delhi courts)
Our lawyers for drafting agreement deed specialize in customizing these terms according to your needs—ensuring clarity and enforceability.

The Role of Commercial Property Conveyancers in Complex Property Deals

Navigating a commercial property transaction isn’t just about signing contracts and transferring ownership—it’s a legally complex process involving multiple stakeholders, strict compliance requirements, and significant financial risk. This is where the expertise of a commercial property conveyancer becomes not just helpful but essential.
At Benson Law, our team of experienced commercial property conveyancers ensures your deal proceeds smoothly, lawfully, and without unexpected surprises. In this article, we explore the critical role these specialists play in complex commercial property deals and how their guidance protects your legal and financial interests.
What Is a Commercial Property Conveyancer?
A commercial property conveyancer is a legal professional who specialises in the legal transfer of ownership for commercial real estate. Unlike residential conveyancing, which typically involves fewer complexities, commercial property transactions often include:
Leases and tenancy agreements
Zoning and planning restrictions
GST and capital gains tax implications
Environmental and building compliance
Strata titles or easements
Corporate and trust ownership structures
A qualified conveyancer understands these intricacies and ensures every legal and procedural step is executed properly.
Why Commercial Conveyancing Is More Complex Than Residential
Commercial property conveyancing is more involved for several reasons:
1. Higher Value Transactions
Commercial properties typically involve much higher purchase prices, which means greater financial exposure and risk.
2. Legal and Regulatory Considerations
Zoning, development approvals, environmental regulations, and commercial leases add layers of legal complexity not usually seen in residential transactions.
3. Tailored Agreements
Unlike standard residential contracts, commercial property contracts are often customised and require detailed negotiation. This includes clauses relating to rent reviews, outgoings, lease assignments, and more.
4. Multiple Stakeholders
There are often more parties involved—tenants, landlords, corporate buyers, investors, councils, and more—all with their own interests to protect.
All of this calls for the strategic and legal insight that a commercial property conveyancer provides.
Key Responsibilities of a Commercial Property Conveyancer
Let’s break down the core duties of a commercial property conveyancer and how they impact your deal:
1. Conducting Detailed Legal Due Diligence
Before any contract is signed, a commercial conveyancer conducts in-depth checks on the property, including:
Title searches
Land use restrictions
Easements or encumbrances
Zoning compliance
Environmental concerns
Council approvals
This due diligence ensures there are no legal “red flags” that could derail your deal or reduce the property’s value.
2. Reviewing and Drafting Contracts
In commercial property transactions, the sale contracts are often negotiated between parties. Your conveyancer will:
Review and explain contract terms
Suggest amendments to protect your interests
Ensure the inclusion of key clauses (e.g. subject to finance, lease conditions, GST treatment)
This ensures you’re not locked into an unfair or unfavourable deal.
3. Handling Lease Agreements
Many commercial properties are sold with existing leases. Your conveyancer will:
Review current lease agreements
Identify potential issues such as rent arrears, lease expiry, or termination clauses
Advise you on the rights and responsibilities that come with the tenancy
If you’re buying a property to lease it out, they can also help draft new lease terms aligned with NSW legislation.
4. Coordinating Finance and Compliance
Commercial deals often involve more than just the buyer and seller. Your conveyancer will liaise with:
Banks or financial institutions for mortgage documentation
Local councils for compliance certificates
Surveyors or valuers if required
They ensure all deadlines are met and that the required documentation is submitted to avoid delays in settlement.
5. Managing the Settlement Process
Settlement is the final step where ownership officially transfers. Your conveyancer:
Prepares settlement statements
Coordinates with all parties including banks, agents, and lawyers
Ensures payment of fees and disbursements
Lodges necessary documents with NSW Land Registry Services
A single oversight at this stage can cause costly delays—your conveyancer ensures a smooth and error-free settlement.
Common Challenges in Complex Property Deals (and How Conveyancers Solve Them)
❌ Unexpected Title Issues
Solution: Conveyancers perform early title searches to uncover issues like covenants, easements, or mortgage encumbrances.
❌ Unclear Lease Terms or Tenancy Conflicts
Solution: They review all lease agreements and negotiate solutions to ensure you're not inheriting problematic tenants.
❌ Delays in Regulatory Approvals
Solution: An experienced conveyancer knows the timelines and processes to fast-track council and planning permissions.
❌ GST and Tax Confusion
Solution: Conveyancers collaborate with accountants to determine correct tax treatment and avoid costly mistakes.
❌ Errors in Contract or Settlement Documents
Solution: They meticulously prepare and review all legal paperwork, minimising the risk of errors or legal disputes.
Benefits of Working with a Local Sydney Commercial Conveyancer
Working with a Sydney-based commercial conveyancer—like the team at Benson Law—provides a number of localised advantages:
Familiarity with NSW-specific legislation and local councils
Understanding of the Sydney commercial property market
Fast response to local due diligence requirements
Access to trusted professionals (surveyors, brokers, etc.) in the area
Having someone who understands the local market is particularly valuable when timelines are tight, or when dealing with complex zoning and council regulations.
When Should You Engage a Conveyancer?
Ideally, you should engage a commercial property conveyancer before you sign any agreement. Early legal advice can:
Identify red flags before you’re legally committed
Help you negotiate better contract terms
Give you peace of mind throughout the process
Even if you’re part-way through a deal, it’s not too late to bring in a conveyancer to ensure a smooth path to settlement.
Why Choose Benson Law for Commercial Conveyancing?
At Benson Law, we’re not just experienced in handling routine transactions—we’re experts in complex commercial property conveyancing across Sydney and NSW. Our team takes the time to understand your goals, identify risks, and deliver practical legal solutions every step of the way.
We assist with:
Buying or selling commercial buildings

Business premises purchases
Multi-party and high-value transactions
We provide a personalised, stress-free experience—no legal jargon, just expert guidance tailored to your needs.
Final Thoughts
Commercial property transactions are rarely straightforward. From regulatory hurdles and complex leases to tax implications and tight settlement timelines, it’s a process full of potential pitfalls. That’s why engaging a skilled commercial property conveyancer is a smart business decision.
With the right legal partner by your side, you gain peace of mind, avoid costly errors, and ensure your property deal is completed smoothly and successfully.
