ok but Kevin saying "Coaches have no honor" when wymack said coaches honor???? Like in tsc, spoiler warning if you haven't read it yet, it is revealed to us through Jean how much coaches are feared respected highly in the nest. They're seen at a higher level than a coach should be, seen as some superior being that knows better anyone. It absolutely destroyed me seeing Kevin say that but in the good way because I interpret it to be him unraveling and opening the tight stitches the nest sewed into his mind from a young age.

I have NOTHING for chapter 3 and 4, so here's a part from chapter 5:

I feel miserable dancing the lines of ambiguity to preserve whatever vague relationship we have right now. Not friends or enemies. Can we call ourselves friends with benefits if we haven't established anything? I'm afraid to ask. To get a confirmation. A definition that could possibly draw the line between us for good. Perhaps not saying anything is the answer to what we have...

I’m not American, and I have a question about the medical care in prison. Luigi’s back X-rays are public and doctors who looked at them have said his surgery was botched, and that even if it wasn’t he would need follow up surgery multiple times in his life anyway. Considering his surgery was not performed properly, they also said he would need another operation within the next few years.

If he’s sentenced, how does this even work? Does he get to pick his surgeon? Is he allowed outside the prison and into a hospital to get treated? Is he gonna be cuffed on the operating bed as well? Does he get to meet his family? How will he manage aftercare on a steel bed and a 2 inch mattress? The first time he got surgery he was bedridden for months, will MDC/wherever he ends up after sentencing allow his some relief from the daily manual labor prisoners have to do in order to recover?

i don't know Luigi's medical history for sure. and i at least would not be speculating on what healthcare he would/could require right now or in the future.

however, if Luigi does need to get surgery or needs medical attention specific to his back issues, i highly doubt he would get the medical attention he needs while incarcerated. this is mainly because prisons in USA have no system in place to treat inmates beyond some very common infectious diseases and health conditions. this situation is further exacerbated by the fact that USA as a country does not have any universal public healthcare system in place, which itself is the biggest issue lurking in the background of the charges against Luigi. how this affects the healthcare of incarcerated individuals is that incarcerated individuals are taken to health facilities outside of their detention centers/prisons when such medical issues arise that they cannot be taken care of in the prison infirmary itself – such visits are made with intense security measures in place. this does not however mean that inmates can choose where they are getting care or from whom (specialists if required) or if they're getting the appropriate care they need.

in fact, while the constitution guarantees that inmates should not be subjected to any "cruelty" while incarcerated, and while the connotation of "cruelty" does include not being able to avail the medical attention an inmate needs, there is no specific instruction or procedure already in place on how this is to be achieved. as a result of this, inmates in US prisons more often than not, do not get the healthcare they should get and deteriorate in health – both physically and mentally. so much so, that of all US prison inmates, about 35-40% have some chronic health issues.

inmates can ask for proper medical attention if they are not able to get it from the system already in place (or the lack thereof) by filing lawsuits claiming that they are being subjected to cruelty and are being denied essential healthcare. this requires that the inmate has to prove the essentiality of the care they need and is often not heeded upon entirely and is indeed very difficult to prove given their situation and lack of freedom to choose where they get medical attention from.

so all in all, if Luigi needs essential medical care while in pre-trial detention or in the worst case scenario if he's convicted, he will just not get it. we can forget about post surgery recovery if he can't get surgery in the first place, if required. let us hope and pray he gets to walk free soon enough and doesn't need any specific medical attention while in custody.

Ok but what if Alteans can take information from someone's head by kissing them? Like Starfire but could be used for more malicious purposes. I'd suppose that Alteans can combat it quite easily but people of other species don't understand it and can't defend their brains.

I'd also imagine that different people store the information and memories in their brains differently. Lance's brain is a comfy book shelf filled with scrapbooks whereas Keith's brain, I think, would be filled with different notebooks with haphazardly notes about the memories. The Alteans don't get the memories the way that the person sees them, they get them in these weird, material-esc forms which they can inspect in the mindscape.

Allura wouldn't have known English, she kissed one of the paladins to inspect their language and also learn about whoever just stomped into her castle with dirty shoes. I'm in favor of her kissing Keith so it gives Lance something to be jealous of. Unfortunately, Allura doesn't understand English so she's desperately trying to grab stuff that looks like it might be about the other intruders to copy and take back to her mindscape and ends up grabbing just a bunch of random stuff.

This would show up for comedic effect by her randomly asking what seems like a stupid question and then they remember she's an alien and then they remember that she's supposed to have Keith's memories and they look over at him and he looks like he's about to die of embarrassment because he in fact doesn't know this really obvious thing and he feels stupid. Alternatively, she uses language or jokes that are very specific to Keith and it freaks people out. This is, of course, before she develops her own sense of the English language and can communicate in her own way. What confuses everyone is the accent. Keith doesn't have a British accent. Why does she? (I certainly don't want to figure out the logic of that so it remains a mystery as well as most Altean culture.)

Allura introduces herself to all the intruders by Keith's memory of them. She's like, "Ah, Pidge. You fucking beat Keith at Uno on board game night and he will never forgive you for that. And Shiro, you are a kind and compassionate man. Hunk, is it Hunk? Or is that just a nickname for friends only? Oh, and Lance."

Even better if Lance is like "I think you should get to know me better. I have so much information in my brain that you need to take a look at." And Allura says, "No, there really isn't."

Btw I'm posting about this because what if Keith and Lance were secret dating and Allura found out from the mice but she was suspicious of Lance's intentions because she knows Lance is like, really flirty with any girl that he sees (including mostly Allura) and also, she's seen those hearts scribbled in the corner of Keith's mind notebook, ok? So she treats Lance a little differently and he notices and pulls her aside alone to ask her what's up and she's like "I know you and Keith are dating and I don't trust that you love him because I know damn well that he loves you and my team's dynamic isn't going to shift because you just had to flirt with another alien girl."

Lance is like "woah, woah, hold on here. I can show you. Just kiss me."

And Allura kisses him and his intentions are true. He loves Keith. Really fucking unfortunately, though, Keith only just walked in on that "just kiss me" part.

There's a woman on tiktok who makes videos about EPPK, a genetic skin condition that makes the skin on your hand palms and feet soles grow hard and thick. She has EPPK and so does her son, her videos are mostly how she takes care of it and what it is. People are in her comments saying she shouldn't have had kids bc of it and if they feel that way about a condition that doesn't seem to cause too many issues if you take care of the hardened skin, etc, I dread to think what their thoughts on people with other genetic conditions/disabilites having kids are. Like this is a skin condition that she's found a treatment for that works for her and she takes care of her son's condition too and people are calling her selfish for having kids and passing this on.

Genuinely disgusting how people will take any excuse to spout eugenics. Over a skin condition!!! My heart goes out to her and her son for having to deal with all of that hate. Very brave of her to put herself out there to educate others on her and her son's condition, especially on a platform as virulent as tiktok.

What's so hard for abled people to understand about the fact that telling someone not to have kids because of a health condition is eugenics?? Not only that, but it isn't their fucking business! Its not their body, their choice, or their family. Like.... shut up and go do something useful and kind instead of telling this poor woman her son should have never been born because life with a skin condition is just too horrible to bear. That shit makes me so mad.
