Deadly Bee Swarms | Download A mod that helps make 'death by flies' a tiny bit easier to achieve.

I've never had a ghost of this death type in my game naturally, even when intentionally neglecting my sims' cleanliness, but now it's an added risk when hiking and hunting bugs! Still rare, but no longer seemingly impossible. x)

Behaviour This mod adds a simple coin flip to determine whether the swarmed sim will die or not.

I haven't seen enough bee swarms in normal gameplay to feel like this would need additional logic, but if there's interest I can add some extra checks for a sims' activity and body skill levels, too. :)

Conflicts This mod overrides the BHAV Interaction - Chased By Bees.

As far as I can see, there hasn't been a hiking or bug hunting mod to alter this particular BHAV yet, but please do let me know if you run into any conflicts!

thinking about how both joel and ellie perceive the moth in entirely different lights.

joel interprets the moth as rebirth and growth. it’s a symbol that ellie associates herself with. by association, ellie was what allowed joel his own rebirth and growth. his interpretation is projected entirely on her behalf. his innate need to be a protector, one fermented by learning to protect his brother from his father, was snuffed out when sarah died. joel managed to outlive his daughter but he wasn’t living. not until he met ellie. she brought out his rebirth. she brought out his growth. she reawakened his dormant capacity to love and reminded him how to love again in a way she can’t understand. ellie is his moth.

but the moth represents death. and ellie’s obsessed with it. the notion of death surrounds her, much like the numerous sketches of moths she keeps in company. there’s a part of her that thinks she deserves death. riley, tess, sam— all people who died when they should’ve been saved. when her immunity was meant to save them. even before the bombshell on the porch that she was meant to die in that hospital, even outside of this preemptive need to “have a greater purpose”… she’s longed for death all along. death dogged her footsteps when her immunity started it down. so death settled for everyone else. and she stays wondering why not her.

joel sees the moth as finding a light still faintly flickering within himself. ellie sees the moth as flying into oblivion. neither fully understands how the other sees the light they’re both flying toward. or the shadows that surround it.

me: oh no so all the Black Widows had ovary-removing hysterectomies? are they on HRT, since they need to be conventionally attractive, conventionally feminine women and there's a risk of hormone changes compromising that? they also have increased danger of bone density loss, mood swings, pelvic organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction...you're going to get into that right? because I fully believe that a secret Soviet assassin factory would do involuntary, unnecessary hysterectomies, but they'd also want their Sexy Assassins at peak Sexy Assassin performance. and even the women who've gotten out probably don't want to deal with those symptoms if they come up. so are we going to see Natasha taking estrogen, or...?

Marvel: no, they just can't :( have babies :( and by the way they sometimes think they're monsters because of that :( but that's all a hysterectomy does and we would know because we are very smart cis men!!!!
