I just watched Thunderbolts, and I HAD to tell my non-Tumblrina roommates that Bob was absolutely Babygirl
.. Once I had explained what babygirl was. Then I explained blorbo, and we talked for a solid forty minutes about what blorbos and babygirls they had in fiction, and it was beautiful.

sao abridged is too american for me (says the usamerican)
#japanese teenagers are a lot more repressed imma be fr#kirito would be mean in a slightly more passive way or just flat out over the top.#Asuna would probably want to kill everybody more actually. and everyone would not be this...direct.#you might be asking 'ur not japanese are you? how would you know?' ok im a weeb#i watch a lot of japanese stuff. I've even been to japan. i know a lot of japanese students from foreign exchange programs.#on top of that im asian so its similar in a sense#don't get me wrong - sao abridged was awesome shit. i think it's incredible#but it's so fucking american. the movie references are ALL american. it's not japanese culture in the slightest.#doesn't make it wrong! this was MADE for american audiences.#it was not made for japanese people#and frankly I don't want it to be. i like that it is american. but the first. watch was a bit much because of that#it's like what i kinda wished banana fish was in a sense?#banana fish is set in america and feels kinda american despite the japanese dub#the uh. j.d. salinger reference show is what i dubbed it#it's spooky to watch america but hear japanese lemme tell you#anyway i think that sao abridged being american is good in its own way. but silly little joke hehe#sao abridged

Okay, so, now my school might be arranging a 2-week on-the-job-learning trip to Portugal in November-December, for those interested in / lack of experience from foreign countries... but I don't know if I can even apply there now because there's a possibility that my schedule could be filled with other kind of stuff that we're supposed to be doing for this degree at the same time, so. 🙃 I'm kinda mad ngl.
#personal#like do i even want to bring this up to my training instructor/supervisor now that we just went through my schedule for the next period#today. a few hours ago in fact. planning all this stuff#so i'd have time to complete some parts that this training requires. qualification-wise i mean. while also having time for myself#because my first period has been kind of tough and it's sucked the juices out of me#because there's a lot of shit there described in the program and we're not even 100% sure what all of them mean. or if i can even#complete them all in the high school where i'm currently training. like jfc#but i've wanted to try this exchange student kind of thing since my teens. but i've never had money or then something else always#came up. but apparently this trip is funded by one international program so i wouldn't necessarily even have to pay for it#at least not a lot. and it's two freaking weeks and we'd be working there too but in a different environment / culture#so not exactly vacation but it's something different. and i'd get to travel and live in another country for a few days and i've kinda misse#so. i kind of really want to apply there#but i don't know... sighs... i don't know

Borders, Boogeymen, and Billion-Dollar Boosts
Borders, Boogeymen, and Billion-Dollar Boosts #artem
Content 18+ Immigration is a topic as charged with dynamite as it is with dynamism. I’d begin with the obvious irony: we’re all immigrants if you rewind history far enough. The United States, Germany, Hungary, Russia—all were shaped by people who packed their bags (or were forced to), crossed borders, and declared, “This looks promising!” before someone else grumbled, “Who invited you?” And thus,…
