rewatching the first episode of Hannibal and holy shit I forgot how good this is but it's actually insane that Brian fuller set up the ep like this, he introduces will and Hannibal by first briefly showing them at their core, at the darkest, most vile part of them---we get a glimpse behind the curtain---and then its gone, the curtain is snapped shut and we see their masks, their human suits.

Will empathizes with killers because he likes it, and he wants to kill but he refuses to give into the urge because he knows how much he'll like it and he won't be able to stop. So he lives vicariously through other killers, satisfying his own dark urge by feeding it little morsels of secondhand blood lust. Every crime scene he works gives the urge something that satisfies it, not enough for it to grow, but enough for it be sate. Enough that he can ignore it for long enough that he can walk around and be Professor Will Graham who is Weird, Brash, and Non-sociable.

And Hannibal is a cannibal at night and a psychiatrist by morning.

Noritoshi'd be cautious at first. A snake is a reptile that should be treated carefully. Assuming the snake belongs to you, he'd ask questions. It's natural to be curious, and who knows a snake better than its owner?

He'd want to hold it but wouldn't feel ready unless you insisted it was okay. That and you'd have to guide him along the way.

Noritoshi is fascinated by things he doesn't get to experience often, so he might fall in love with the little scaly friend right then and there. The longer you look at him the longer you can catch small glimmers of fascination in him as he looks on at the snake.

Oh, how he'd run his mouth with questions faster than you could answer. "How often does it shed?" "What conditions does it like to sleep in?" "Do you really feed it rats?" "Is there a difference between a male and female snake?" "What do you do to entertain it?" and so many more. It's alright if you don't know an answer, he'll just write it down and find out on his own later.

Today I was in the vehicle known as a car, driving. My phone was on a low percentage, however. Like Jesus or Raiden in MGRR, I carried on. You see I drew Snake. Ass icon for many. With my two little flesh sticks, my fingers. I quickly kadoodled him on Ibis Paint X. Luckily, unlike stealth missions, this was easy for me.

Oh yeah here’s a Jetstream Sam piece I’m working on for my Ipad background but holy shit the face is not fire rn and I am mad coping by taking a 7 day break. It’s okay. Like stealth missions, I’ll make it through somehow. Jetstream Samis NOT a man I can fail. I love him like a Sam. SO he must look PEFECT. Also I want it as my background so it needs to look good enough to last the next 12 months. Thinking of going in with a soft brush and like scribbling it on the face till it looks better. >mark tears back home asap instead of leaving as soon as he hears her song, actively choosing to stay in her effect zone for his family. finds newly triggered baby ashe & the rest of that scene.

>theyve spent too long in the affected zone to be allowed to go free, especially since ashe triggered from it. mark nukes his whole past life & ashe's to escape without undergoing all the protocols. he spends ages doing shit work to support him & ashe bc theyre both legally dead, ends up working for overlord, manages to get enough of a fake past to get through cauldron background checks & get powers? it'll pay so much better than the grunt work he's doing now & he has to support ashe (powered)(legally dead)(would probably be executed if anyone Found Out)....

anyway to me the trickster is like. the endgame of this specific simurgh rube goldberg. somehow it doesn't end horrifically, for once! but it gets. bad. the fact that they're simurgh survivors is always looming over their heads. its why mark fucking freaks out when ashe joins the wards. literally have nothing more specific than this though u gotta help me put meat on these bones!!!!! I just saw the new hunger games movie and you know what, that was a damn good movie. I really wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I do, but it’s probably my favorite of the series now

I should probably go back and read the book now. I had it in my brain for years that the book wasn’t good. My old friend / roommate read the book when it came out and hated it so much that she wrote a 20 page document outlining the entire story and spreading it to everyone she knew so that no one would be tempted to buy it. For years I believed her.

But ummm, now I’m thinking she might’ve been wrong. Knowing her, she would never admit it though.

But yeah. I’ll go read the book now. Great movie, though!
