updated hair care routine - overprocessed, dry hair
PRE WASH
☆ oil / hair mask - oil your roots with your chosen oils (my fav is rosemary) then dampen your hair and apply a hair mask (I use amika soulfood) and wrap in clingfilm and leave for a minimum of 3 hours
WASH
☆ I have 2 routines during my wash
☆ I shampoo with shea moisture intensive hydration 2x and follow with the matching conditioner and leave for 3+ minutes
☆ or I shampoo with the same shampoo again and skip conditioner and on towel dried hair I apply k18
POST WASH
☆ when I've applied k18 wait 4 minutes before brushing or applying follow up products
☆ I use shea moisture strengthen and restore leave in conditioner
☆ loreal elvive hyaluronic acid serum spray (its in a purple bottle)
☆ olaplex no6 (literally saved my hair the first time I overprocessed it, arguably the most important step) I also apply this every night on dry hair
☆ oil - I use loreal elvive coco oil , its so lightweight and hydrating. I also apply this every night and morning
EXTRAS
☆ I used to wash my hair every day but now it's so damaged I wash every 4 days
☆ even though I have straight/ wavy hair I sleep with a satin bonnet - mine is from cantu. it protects my hair from tugging and knotting when I sleep
☆ although I use heat every wash its still only once a week, even if my hair gets kinked and goes back wavy, I will not reapply until the next wash
☆ I try to not do tight hairstyles and if I do it's usually on the 3rd or 4th day when my hair is super greasy and can handle it
☆ claw clips, 'telephone wire' hair bobbles and silk scrunchies will reduce damage on your hair
I'm still learning how to treat my hair so these are just some tips I've found, hairtok is literally my bestie and I'm prioritising hair health in 2024 and trying new routines to help my hair
love ya!

Top tips for repairing hair, from an ex-hairdresser who's known to bleach the shit out of hers
You want a shampoo with protein and a conditioner for hydration.
Once a week, use a mask with both - my personal all-time favourite is Sebastian Penetraitt. I've worked with L'Oréal, Kerastase, Matrix, and many more, but I'm a Sebastian stan overall. Their products are a little expensive, but you need a very minimal amount.
HOWEVER, if you damage your hair terribly, there comes a point where no amount of masking will fix it. You need a trim!
If you can, sleep with mask in your hair. When you rinse it out the next morning, your hair will be super smooth. Note: if you have long hair, cover it with something when you go to bed, otherwise rolling around on your pillow with moist hair could catch and snap strands.
Rinse your hair with cold water after showering. This is great for both hair and skin, as it helps to close the cuticle and can help prevent oily skin and a greasy scalp.
Semi/demipermanent dye will not damage your hair. Full-on permanent dye will lighten the hair before depositing colour, while semi/demi will only deposit colour.
That said, you can use permanent dyes to tone your hair after bleaching, as long as you use weak H202 (1.9%/6 vol). Semi/demi will still be better for your hair, but I personally can't resist Koleston 9/8 sometimes.
Lastly, if you have damaged hair, I would heavily advise that you do not use grocery store shampoo/conditioner. They are full of silicone, which will make your hair shiny, but as it builds up in the hair, it takes on almost a wig-like quality, and you will end up with more breakage from strands just snapping off.
Anyway let me know if there's anything else hair-related I could help out with :3

Home Remedies for Dry Damaged Hair
Tumblr media
You might not know this, but dry hair isn't usually a sign of damaged hair. When the scalp does not produce enough natural oils to lubricate the scalp and hair shaft, dry, dull hair can result (and is commonly accompanied by white, flaky skin), as opposed to damage, which is typically brought on by external forces. Weather, improper or excessively frequent coloring, and excessive use of heated styling products and techniques like relaxers and perms are the most common of these. All of these factors have the ability to reduce the quality of the cuticles and even the cortex itself, which will cause a loss of shine and complete fiber breakdown.
Remedy
Take one ripe banana and use a fork to mask it into a paste.
After mashing well use strainer to get a smooth paste.
Add a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of Olive oil.
Mix everything well. Apply it to your scalp and hair.
Wear shower cap, Wait for an hour.
Rinse out with lukewarm water. Then use a mild shampoo.

Yeah ok they are dry...not something a few drops of hair oil can't fix for a couple of hours. I hate it when society decides what's pretty or not , what's wrong or right, good or bad...lol fuck you all , i am god and i get to decide everything. And i decided you're all gay. If you say you're not i will fight you

Hello I’m indecisive again and need y’all’s help
My hair is annoying and I can never make a permanent decision ever. I lighten and then darken my hair over and over and that’s been my process since I was 10. So what should my next step be?
-keep it light even though it’s damaging
-dye it dark even though color is hard to get out and looks oily more quickly
-let the color grow out naturally but it’ll look like shit for 6 months

High Porosity Hair (Pt. 2)
How do we deal with high porosity hair?
To hydrate high porosity hair, use products labeled "hydrating" or "moisturizing" to prevent breakage and damage (Shatzman, 2023).
Get trims often to make ends look healthier (Shatzman, 2023).
Don’t shampoo too often because it strips natural oils from hair (Shatzman, 2023). From experience, stripping natural oils causes scalp irritation and dryness.
Never skip conditioning hair. High porosity hair requires as much moisture as possible (Shatzman, 2023).
Sleep on silk or satin to moisture your strands (Shatzman, 2023). Baker claims,
“‘Silk doesn't absorb or pull moisture from your skin the way traditional cotton pillowcases do, leaving hair hydrated and frizz-free.’” “Plus, according to Richy Kandasamy, a hair colorist and a member of R+Co Collective, resting your head on this fabric will keep textured hair fresher and less ‘slept on’ upon waking.” (n.d.)
P.S. These are just some tips for treating high porosity hair! Visit Shatzman for more tips and information.

A Lifesaver for My Dry, Damaged Hair: A Review of Kerassentials Deliverable
Tumblr media
I've always considered myself to have fairly low-maintenance hair. A quick wash and a bit of conditioner every few days, and I was good to go. However, after years of styling with heat and occasional colour treatments, my once healthy locks were starting to show their wear and tear. They became dry, brittle, and prone to breakage.
In Search of a Solution
I knew I needed to find a product that could help me restore my hair's health and shine. I tried a variety of over-the-counter shampoos and conditioners, but nothing seemed to make a significant difference. Then, I came across Kerassentials Deliverable. The product's focus on natural ingredients and its emphasis on hair health really appealed to me.
First Impressions
Kerassentials Deliverable arrived in a sleek and stylish package. The instructions were clear and concise, and the product itself had a pleasant, spa-like scent. I was immediately impressed by the high-quality feel of the product.
Putting it to the Test
I started using Kerassentials Deliverable as directed, incorporating it into my regular hair washing routine. From the very first use, I noticed a difference. My hair felt softer and smoother, and it seemed to have more elasticity. After a few weeks of consistent use, the results were even more remarkable. My hair was visibly healthier, with a noticeable reduction in frizz and breakage. It also had a beautiful, natural shine that I hadn't seen in years.
More Than Just Shine
What I truly appreciated about Kerassentials Deliverable was that it didn't just make my hair look good, it also felt healthier. My scalp felt less irritated, and I experienced significantly less hair loss in the shower. This led me to believe that the product was not just masking the damage but actually helping to repair my hair from the inside out.
A Part of My Routine
Kerassentials Deliverable has become an indispensable part of my hair care routine. It's a product that I genuinely look forward to using, and I always see fantastic results. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking to improve the health and appearance of their hair. Whether you have dry, damaged hair like I did, or simply want to maintain your hair's natural beauty, Kerassentials Deliverable is a product that can truly make a difference.
Overall Satisfaction
In conclusion, I am incredibly satisfied with Kerassentials Deliverable. It's a high-quality product that delivers on its promises. If you're looking for a way to restore your hair's health and shine, I highly recommend giving Kerassentials Deliverable a try. tunesharemore_vert

A Lifesaver for Dry, Damaged Hair: My Review of Kerassentials Deliverable
I've always considered myself to have fairly good hair. It's naturally thick and wavy, but over the years of styling and colouring, it had become increasingly dry, frizzy, and prone to breakage. I tried countless drugstore products and home remedies, but nothing seemed to make a lasting difference. That's when I came across Kerassentials Deliverable, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer for my hair health.
Tumblr media
Deep Moisture and Repair
Before Kerassentials Deliverable, my hair felt dry and brittle to the touch. It tangled easily, and even gentle brushing would lead to breakage. After incorporating this product into my routine, I noticed a significant improvement in moisture levels. My hair feels noticeably softer and smoother, and the frizz is much more manageable. I believe this is due to the product's rich, nourishing formula. It seems to deeply penetrate the hair shaft, providing long-lasting hydration without leaving it greasy or weighed down.
Improved Manageability and Shine
Styling my hair used to be a frustrating experience. Because of the dryness and frizz, it was difficult to achieve any kind of polished look. Since using Kerassentials Deliverable, I've found that my hair is much more manageable. It styles more easily, holds its shape better, and the flyaways are under control. This newfound manageability has made getting ready in the morning so much quicker and easier. An added bonus is the incredible shine that this product imparts to my hair. It looks healthy and radiant, which gives my overall appearance a polished boost.
Visible Strengthening and Reduced Breakage
One of the most significant changes I've noticed since using Kerassentials Deliverable is a reduction in breakage. As mentioned earlier, breakage was a constant concern for me. Brushing and styling would often result in lost strands, leaving my hair looking thin and uneven. I'm happy to report that this is no longer the case. My hair feels stronger and more resilient, and I see far fewer broken hairs after combing or styling. This visible strengthening gives me the confidence to style my hair more freely, without worrying about damaging it further.
A Luxurious Experience
Using Kerassentials Deliverable is a luxurious experience. The product has a pleasant, spa-like fragrance that lingers in the hair. The formula itself is rich and creamy, and it applies smoothly and evenly. A little goes a long way, so the bottle is sure to last a good amount of time. I also appreciate the sleek and stylish packaging, which looks great on my bathroom shelf.
Overall, I am incredibly impressed with Kerassentials Deliverable. It has transformed my hair from dry and damaged to healthy, manageable, and radiant. If you're looking for a product that can truly revitalize your hair, I highly recommend giving this one a try. It's an investment that your hair will thank you for!pen_sparktunesharemore_vert
