What horror trope/metaphor are you?
heaven as oblivion
there is absolutely nothing for you now. you are dead but not gone, you've passed on to the next realm and hit an infinitely extending wall. your fingers dissolve before your eyes, your eyes melt out of your head, your head does not exist. you are not present anywhere, and you cannot hear anything. you've dodged hell, but at what cost? this is all there is now.

Swim
bridgerton family x sis!reader
summary: when the youngest Bridgerton is playing in the garden with her siblings, she falls into the lake, not knowing how to swim. Realizing the accident, her older brother runs to save her
requested: yes
warnings: drowning
It was a hot day in the countryside, the heat almost unbearable and most of the animals seeking shelter in the shadows. The Bridgerton family was at Aubrey Hall, however the younger ones were dissatisfied with how the day was going. Daphne was away with her husband, Benedict had locked himself in the art room, consumed by a burst of inspiration, and Colin was still traveling through Europe. Eloise was visiting Penelope, and Lady Bridgerton was engaged in a lively chat with the other ladies of the parish.
"Anthony!" Y/n called out for the only brother left. However, she was also unlucky when she saw him hunched over paperwork in his study, his brow furrowed in frustration.
The youngest Bridgerton sighed in annoyence, everyone was busy except her three older siblings. However, their mother had forbidden them to go out and play in the garden without the surveillance of any family member, keeping them dry all day reading until they got tired of lying on the sofa, vanning themselves.
"Y/n! How many times do I have to say that you can't walk into my office like that?! It’s not proper." Anthony scolded her, he was also frustrated with the work that was piling up, the heat and his youngest siblings who couldn't seem to stop bothering him.
“The door was open…” Y/n muttered, only to earn a sharp glare. “I’m sorry, brother. But Hyacinth, Gregory, Francesca, and I are so bored. It’s unbearable indoors, and we want to play outside.”
The older man ran his hand over his forehead, taking a deep breath to control his impatience and not take it out on his little sister. The truth was that the heat wasn't helping for his patience.
“You know what?” he said, exhaling sharply, “Go. Go play outside. Just don’t disturb me again.”
"But mother said—”
"You'll be fine." Anthony waved a hand in the air, dismissing what the girl was going to say, his attention already focused on the documents. "Just don't get too close to the lake and if you need anything, fetch for a maid."
"Are you sure?" Y/n questioned hesitantly, knowing these weren't the rules Violet imposed.
"Off you go." the Viscount muttered, motioning for her to leave and close the door.
“Of course, brother.” she left in silence, closing the door.
She returned to her younger siblings with a bright smile, though a flicker of uncertainty lingered. "We can go!" she announced, and their faces lit up. The four of them dashed to the garden, their laughter ringing out as they burst into the open air.
The garden was Y/n’s favorite place, a haven of color and life. The vibrant flowers—roses, tulips, and daisies—lined the pathways, their sweet fragrance mingling with the warm summer breeze. A fountain bubbled gently at the center, its soothing trickle blending with the cheerful quacks of ducks paddling in the nearby lake. Towering trees offered patches of welcome shade, their leaves rustling softly as if whispering secrets to the wind.
Gregory raced to the fountain and splashed water at his sisters, eliciting squeals of surprise. The girls retaliated, sparking a playful water fight. The cool droplets against their skin brought much-needed relief from the sweltering heat, and their laughter echoed across the garden.
Hyacinth soon grabbed a small ball, and the group shifted to a lively game of catch. When Gregory threw the ball to Y/n, she was momentarily distracted by a pair of butterflies flitting gracefully nearby. The ball slipped through her fingers and rolled into the lake.
“Oh, no!” Y/n exclaimed, spinning around to face her siblings. “Anthony said the lake was off limits!”
“That was your fault, Y/n!” Gregory shot back, folding his arms. “You were distracted! Just go get the ball. Nothing will happen, and we can keep playing.”
Hyacinth frowned, tugging at Y/n’s arm nervously. “Be careful,” she whispered, glancing anxiously at the shimmering water. Francesca stood silently, her face a mix of worry and curiosity.
Y/n hesitated, looking between her siblings and the ball floating just a little too far from the edge of the lake. “Alright,” she finally said, though her voice trembled slightly. “I’ll get it, but don’t tell Anthony or Mama.”
She carefully made her way to the edge of the lake, the grass beneath her feet slippery and damp. The ball bobbed lazily on the water’s surface, taunting her. Stretching out her arm, she leaned forward as much as she could without stepping into the water.
“Just a little more…” Y/n muttered to herself, her fingertips brushing the edge of the ball. But the ground beneath her shifted suddenly, and with a startled yelp, she lost her balance. Her arms flailed as she tumbled forward, plunging into the cold water with a loud splash.
“Y/n!” Hyacinth screamed, her hands flying to her mouth as she watched her sister vanish beneath the surface.
“Y/n! Get up! Stop playing around!” Gregory shouted, his voice wavering as panic set in.
But Y/n wasn’t playing. The moment she hit the water, she remembered she didn’t know how to swim. Her brothers were always making the promise they would teach her how to swim, but they were always busy.
The weight of her wet dress dragged her down, and she struggled desperately to keep her head above the surface. Her hair was in front of her eyes, which was only adding to her panic. Her siblings were screaming behind her, but she couldn't do anything. She gasped, swallowing water instead of air, her arms thrashing uselessly.
“I-I can’t—help!” Y/n choked, her voice barely audible over the splashing.
Francesca started crying, while Hyacinth grabbed Gregory’s arm. “Do something, Gregory!” she pleaded, her voice high-pitched and trembling. "Help her!"
“I—I don’t know what to do!” Gregory stammered, his face pale as he watched his sister struggle. “We need Anthony!”
The three of them began screaming at the top of their lungs. “Anthony! Anthony! Help!”
Inside the house, Anthony sat at his desk, brow furrowed as he tried to focus on his work. But the distant sound of frantic shouting made him freeze. His siblings’ voices pierced through the thick walls of Aubrey Hall, each cry laced with panic.
“Anthony! Help! Y/n, swim, please!”
He was on his feet in an instant, the paperwork long forgotten. His hands were trembling and he was having trouble taking a breath in. Memories of his father dying were playing in his brain. He couldn't lose his younger sister, he wouldn't survive. He believed no one in the family would. Y/n was a ray of sunshine, she had the power of making him smile even in his darkest days.
Racing out of his study, he bolted through the house and into the garden. The sight that met him stopped his heart for a moment—Y/n floundering in the lake, her siblings screaming helplessly at the edge.
“Y/n!” Anthony roared, sprinting toward the water.
Without hesitation, he dove in, the cool shock of the water biting against his skin. His powerful strokes cut through the lake as he reached her, wrapping one arm securely around her chest to keep her head above water. “I’ve got you, Y/n! You’re safe!” he gasped, pulling her toward the shore.
Y/n coughed and sputtered, clinging tightly to Anthony’s arm as he hauled her out of the water and onto the grass. She collapsed onto her side, shivering and coughing up all the water trapped in her lungs.
“Y/n!” Hyacinth sobbed, rushing forward to kneel beside her. Gregory and Francesca hovered close, their faces streaked with tears.
Anthony knelt next to his youngest sister, his hands gently brushing the wet hair from her face. “What were you thinking?” he demanded, though his voice cracked with a mix of anger and fear. “I told you to stay away from the lake!”
“I-I’m sorry,” Y/n whispered, her voice trembling as tears streamed down her cheeks. “I was just trying to get the ball…”
“Forget the ball!” Anthony snapped, though the harshness of his words softened as he saw the guilt in her eyes. He sighed heavily, pulling her into a protective embrace despite her soaked clothes. “You scared me half to death, Y/n. Don’t ever do that again.”
“I won’t,” she murmured, burying her face in his shoulder. “I promise.”
Anthony held her tightly for a moment longer before pulling back and looking at the other three. “And you lot,” he said, fixing them with a stern glare, “should have come to me the second something went wrong. You don’t handle things like this on your own, understood?”
“Yes, Anthony,” Gregory muttered, his head bowed.
“I’m sorry, Anthony,” Hyacinth sniffled.
“Let’s get you all inside,” Anthony said, scooping Y/n into his arms. “Y/n needs to change out of these wet clothes, and all of you need to stay out of trouble. And don’t think this means I’m letting any of you off the hook when I tell Mother about this.”
The siblings exchanged nervous glances but said nothing. For now, they were just relieved Y/n was safe.
"And go get Benedict for me, please," Anthony sighed, tightening his protective hold on Y/n, who rested her head against his chest. Just like she used to when she was a baby, seeking comfort and safety in her older brother’s arms.
The Bridgerton siblings immediately sprang into action, not wanting to further anger their eldest brother. Gregory and Hyacinth bolted toward Benedict’s art room, their small footsteps echoing through the halls. Meanwhile, Anthony called for the maids, handing Y/n over gently and instructing them to draw her a warm bath and help her change into fresh clothes. Once she was seen to, he retreated to his room to rid himself of his soaked garments.
Later, Y/n was tucked into her bed, warm and safe, her cheeks flushed pink from the warmth of the bath. She had drifted off to sleep, her breathing soft and steady. Anthony sat in a chair beside her bed, his elbow resting on his knee as he leaned forward, his eyes locked on her small, peaceful frame. Every slight rise and fall of her chest reassured him she was still there, still breathing.
Beside him, Benedict sat in quiet solidarity, his hand supporting his chin as he watched his older brother wrestle with his thoughts.
“I thought we were going to lose her,” Anthony whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “She was screaming, Benedict. She was drowning, and I didn’t know if I’d reach her in time.” His jaw tightened, and he ran a hand through his hair in frustration. “All because none of us had the bloody sense to teach her how to swim.”
“It’s not your fault, Anthony,” Benedict said softly, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. “She’s okay now. You saved her.”
Anthony shook his head, his eyes never leaving Y/n. “She asked me to let them go outside. I said yes because I was frustrated she was interrupting me. I didn’t think, Benedict. I didn’t think about the lake or the rules or how dangerous it was. I let her go because it was easier for me, and I put her in danger. That’s on me. I was irresponsible.”
Benedict’s hand squeezed his shoulder, grounding him. “You made a mistake, Anthony. But don’t forget, when it mattered most, you were there. You pulled her out of the water and you’re here now, making sure she’s safe. That’s what being the eldest means. You can’t be perfect all the time.”
Anthony let out a heavy sigh, leaning back in the chair. “I don’t have the luxury of mistakes. Not when it comes to them. Not when it comes to Y/n. I should’ve been better.”
Benedict paused for a moment before leaning forward, his tone shifting to something lighter, more familiar. “You know, Anthony, this might be the first time I’ve ever seen you admit to not being perfect. I’m almost proud of you.”
Despite himself, Anthony let out a small chuckle, shaking his head. “Not the time for jokes, Benedict.”
“Come on,” Benedict smirked, “you’ve been brooding for hours. She’s going to wake up and see that same grumpy expression, and then we’ll have a whole new mess to deal with.”
Anthony gave him a sidelong glance, but the corner of his mouth twitched upward slightly. “You’re insufferable, you know that?”
Benedict leaned back, feigning a look of triumph. “I’ve been told.”
A small, sleepy voice interrupted their exchange. “Anthony? Benedict?”
Both men snapped their attention to Y/n, who was stirring in her bed. Anthony leaned forward immediately, brushing a hand over her forehead. “I’m here, Y/n. How are you feeling?”
Her eyes fluttered open, and she looked up at him with a mix of guilt and relief. “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to make you upset.”
Anthony’s heart clenched. “You don’t need to apologize, sweetheart. I’m the one who’s sorry. I should’ve been paying more attention.”
“You saved me,” she said softly, her small hand reaching out to grab his. “Thank you.”
Anthony squeezed her hand gently, his voice thick with emotion. “Always, Y/n. Always.”
Benedict leaned in, his tone playful. “And just so you know, next time you want to cause this much chaos, at least let me finish my painting first.”
Y/n let out a small, tired giggle, and Anthony finally allowed himself to relax. His little sister was safe, and he would make sure it always stayed that way.

A/n: @prentisssgf this ones for you <3 I hope it'll put a smile on that gorgeous face of yours and lives up to your expectations. Have an amazing birthday doll! Love and kisses xxx
As far as cases went, this one wasn’t so bad. Sure, the team was stretched a little thin, paperwork was piled high, new cases were flooding in, and bureaucracy kept tensions mounted amongst the higher-ups, but every cloud had a silver lining. You found yours on a Wednesday, around midday, walking into Hotch’s office with Emily at your side, having both been summoned.
“I’m sending you two. I need the rest of the team here.”
A two-person unit would leave you with a load of groundwork: liaising with local authorities, checking out the crime scene, heading to the coroners and ordinarily, that would have overwhelmed you had it not been for the fact you’d have Emily by your side the entire time. Emily, who was now shifting her weight from foot to foot, fidgeting with the loose skin around her nails as she bit the inside of her cheek.
You nudged her, ascertaining from Hotch’s stare he was scrutinising her every move. She straightened her spine and puffed her chest, giving your boss a solid nod as she awaited further instructions.
“You can take the jet. No detours, though,” he said with a smirk, giving the pair of you a once over before bringing his attention back to the paperwork littering the oak desk. “Now get moving. Garcia will fill you in on the details.”
“Damn. I was hoping for a pit stop in Vegas, a quick game of poker, maybe even a couple goes on the slot machines.” You received a blank stare from Hotch and honestly, given the state of affairs running a muck through the BAU, you couldn’t blame him for not entertaining your fruitless attempts at comedy. “Jet. No detours. Garcia will fill us in. Got it.”
And with that, you made to leave the room, trying to tame the rosy tinge of embarrassment burning over your cheeks. For the sake of propriety, you waited till you were out of sight in the elevator, on the way down to the car park, to elbow Emily right in the ribs.
“What was that for?!” She cried, holding her side.
“Don’t think I didn’t see your smug ass smirk on the way out,” You groaned. “I made a tit out of myself, and you thought it appropriate to bask in my misery.”
“For a profiler, I thought you’d read a room better,” Emily laughed, walking out of the steel death trap and into the parking lot, pulling out car keys.
“Says the woman who was smiling like an idiot at the prospect of having me all to yourself for a couple of days.”
She stopped in her tracks, “Got a problem with that?”
Did you have a problem with an attractive co-worker turned friend relishing your one-on-one company? No. Did you beam at the opportunity of having her alone, knowing you’d be able to let your affections run free to a certain extent? Yes. But did Emily’s ego need to know that? Hell no.
It took a couple more steps to realise Emily wasn’t following. Though you were eager to get going, you deeply regretted turning to usher her towards the car. It was her stance that knocked you off kilter. Her folded arms, hip slung to the side, and arched brow made it an outward struggle to remain upright. Had her legs always been that long?
“As smooth as cases go with you and I working together, I can’t say I’m not feeling the slightest bit put out by the thought of having to do a majority of the heavy lifting.” Emily didn’t seem convinced, her eyes squinting as she picked apart truth from lie. Her glare stretched out for too long, and you were beginning to wither under it; the spark of curiosity that drove her to excel at her job was bright and unyielding, threatening never to let go of this subject matter until she got the answers she wanted. You couldn't have that.
You walked towards her, hiding your fear behind a mask of false confidence. The scales were unbalanced, Emily reigning supreme with her brazen approach to the underlying sexual tension that plagued your friendship and you drowning in it—that required change.
With each step forward, Emily took one back till her eyes were wide and her back pressed against the car park wall, and she had nowhere to go. You took victory in the shiver that racked through the brunette, relishing the delicious taste of her withheld breaths skating across your skin. The look of disbelief she wore grew louder when your hands bracketed her shoulders, palms flat against textured concrete.
“What are you doing?” She asked, breathy and fidgety. You couldn't help but let your eyes drop to the rise and fall of her chest, to her bobbing throat.
Dropping one hand to her cheek, you drew her lips open with your thumb, “Taking what’s mine.”
After a few hurried blinks, Emily’s eyes closed, her breath stilled, and you struck. You used the hand, keeping you steadily leaning over Emily to push yourself away. At the exact same moment, you reached down and plucked the forgotten keys from between her fingers.
“I want to drive,” you said, turning and walking towards the car with the biggest shit-eating grin plastered across your face.
Emily’s steps were laden with the force of a thousand stampedes as she stormed after you. Unsurprisingly, she caught up with you quickly, but not quickly enough. By the time she reached the car, you had already clambered behind the wheel and had the engine started. From the corner of your eyes, you observed the difference in Emily’s demeanour. Outrage had burned her cheeks red. Her breathing was steady, but you could see how focused she was on maintaining it as she flicked invisible dust particles off her blazer.
“You’re a little shit,” she muttered.
“Like calls like and all that.”
When you reached the runway, Emily was back to her old self–shooting off teasing remarks about your driving and keeping close to your side as you made your way to the jet.
“Do you know how many road violations I counted?” she asked, sitting beside you and setting up her laptop. Garcia was due to call any minute. “There's nothing wrong with being a passenger princess. Honesty, I think it’d suit you.”
“You sure know how to compliment a girl.” You rolled your eyes and pulled out two case files from your bag, dumping them on the table and flipping one open.
“You should see what I can do in bed.”
Judging by how fast you snapped your neck, you wouldn’t be surprised to wake up the following day to discover a muscle tear. There was a reprimand on the tip of your tongue, ready to rip a hole right through Emily’s self-satisfied smirk. However, before you could reinstate yourself as the reigning champion of inappropriate workplace flirting, a shrill chime tore through the weighted silence.
Emily looked so pleased with herself. It killed you to have missed the opportunity to knock her down a few pegs.
“Saved by the bell,” she hummed, accepting Garcia’s call.
It wasn’t a long debrief by any means. Garcia divvied information on the victims and their histories between a rundown of each crime scene and any other bits of digital data she’d acquired that would aid the case. It went on for ten minutes, maybe fifteen. Work began at the drop of the call, you and Emily scribbling down notes, batting theories to and from each other till you’d weaned down the profile from anyone to the standard white male between the ages of thirty and forty—surprise. Miles high from where the bulk of your work would take place, you and Emily had exhausted every avenue you could. After half an hour of back and forths and meticulous reviews of each victim, of which there were thankfully only two, you gave into idle chatter and then comfortable quiet.
The jet looked different without all its occupants. It still held its comfort, forever the resting place after a long couple of days, but the barren landscape remained off-putting enough for you to seek solace on the lonely couch. A trusty book in hand to pry your racing mind away from the stress of your job.
“Mind if I join you?”
Emily hovered over you, one hand empty and gesturing to the unoccupied space beside you and the other holding her current read. She had her finger wedged within the pages, keeping her place as she waited patiently for your answer.
“Sure,” you smiled softly, scooching to the side.
Paragraph by paragraph, the space between you and Emily was eaten up. By the closing of your chapter, your thighs were side by side, and the older woman had somehow managed to sling an arm over the back of the sofa without your notice, mindlessly twirling with the ends of your hair around her fingers.
“Sorry.” Emily began to pull her arm away, but you held her still.
“Don’t be.” You brought her arm back down, looping it over your shoulder as you rested your book on your lap. “I could do with resting my eyes, and the pillows aren’t nearly as comfortable as you.”
“Well then,” Emily began, a sure smile lining her lips, “I’m all yours.”
Once you’d shuffled around a bit, tucking your legs underneath you and leaning further into Emily, you settled your head down on her shoulder, snuggling into the familiar scent of her herbal shampoo. Emily’s hand slowly migrated down to your waist, where she pulled you closer and held you tighter.
“Emily?”
“Mmm?” she replied, her eyes still on the book she’d impressively managed to keep open with just one hand.
“Could you read out loud?” Your request was met with the turn of Emily’s head and the soft crease of her brows as she gazed down at you nestled in the space between her neck and shoulder. You’d seen her angry, you’d seen her sad, you’d seen her happy, but whatever this was, you’d never seen. The afternoon sun had chosen her milky skin as its subject, a canvas to paint its balmy glow over. Her eyes were lighter under its yellow and orange hue, making it oh so easy to get lost in the space where her chocolate irises met the blacks of her pupils.
She looked beautiful like this. She looked at ease.
“Of course.”
—
You roused to quiet, Emily’s lilt no longer warming your ears with its eloquence and clarity. She didn’t even seem to be reading anymore. Her book closed and placed on the armrest as she watched clouds fly by. She did not jump, freeze or move at all when you spoke.
“What are you thinking about?” You asked, rubbing your eyes and quietly beaming at how sleep had shifted your knees to rest over Emily’s lap. The position felt remarkably close to cuddling.
“I’m trying to figure something out,” she started, eyes filled with mirth as she turned to look at you. There was movement along your waist–Emily’s hand gliding up and down, intermittently pausing to trace circles into the intercostal space between your ribs. She’d have had to be blind to miss your throat bobbing as you swallowed a shiver.
“Go on…” you prompted.
“I don't understand how something so cute and tiny, especially when sleeping, can cause such a ruckus.” She bit her lip at the mix of horror and mortification donning your face, waiting to deliver the punchline. “You snore.” Oh, she looked so fucking proud of herself.
“I do not!”
“At first, I thought something was up with the jet, but then I realised you were practically vibrating next to me. Seriously, you should get your sinuses checked.”
“Now I know you're taking the piss.”
A great bark of laughter tore from her chest, and you hadn’t a clue what to do with yourself. On the one hand, you wanted to punch her, and on the other, you were enthralled with the sweet melody of her joy, desperate to hear it for whatever duration was left of your flight.
“If I weren't so comfy, I’d slap you,” you groaned, relaxing your muscles against the warmth of Emily’s side. “How long till we land?”
“Not long, twenty minutes maybe.” She brought her free hand to your face, brushing past your cheek and reaching for the strands of hair that had fallen loose in your slumber. “We’ll head straight to the latest crime scene. The media have already caught wind of the murders, so we’ll have to keep them at bay with a statement.” She listed off your itinerary, tucking your hair back in place behind your ear. “I’ll ask JJ to handle that remotely once we know more. Then, we can head to the precinct and talk to the victims’ families. You take one, I'll take the other.”
“Sounds good,” you nodded wistfully, taking Emily’s hand into your lap, trailing your finger over the lines marking her palm.
Emily’s plan was carried out—first, the sweeping of the crime scene and the reiteration of JJ’s statement to the cluster of rowdy journalists and news correspondents. Then, at the station, you spoke briefly with the police chief, gathering characteristic information about the families you were due to meet. It always helped to have a measure of knowledge regarding the personalities you would encounter.
When the sun drew its last breath over the skyline, you and Emily agreed it was time to call it a day. Hotch sent the address to a nearby hotel, letting you know everything had been handled, and all you had to do was give your name to whoever was working the front desk. So, for the life of you, you couldn't understand how you’d found yourself in heated discussion, or rather argument with the hotel receptionist.
“There must be some mix-up,” you moaned. Emily was standing by you, uncharacteristically quiet and of no help. Her focus appeared to be on her phone as her fingers clattered over the digital keyboard with scary determination.
“I’ll sort this out,” Emily said frostily. Bringing her phone to her ear, she walked away.
As you stood in the hotel lobby, left a little out of sorts by the unresolved problem of your nightly stay, you could see Emily pacing the length of the room, back and forth and back and forth, nose flared, jaw clenched, and words sharp. You tried not to overthink her anger, how the thought of sharing a room with you brought about so much outrage. Was it that abhorrent to share the same space as you for a single night?
By the time Emily returned, she looked defeated. She barely acknowledged you before setting her wrath upon the guilty-looking clerk.
“Surely not every room is booked for tonight,” she sighed, impatiently drumming her fingers on the marbled desk surface.
The click and clack of a keyboard filled the awkward silence.
“Unless you’re willing to take the honeymoon suite, we unfortunately have no other rooms free tonight.” The undeniable proof of the woman’s statement came with the turn of the computer screen. Everything was red except one column. Emily’s eyes bulged at the collection of numbers gathered at its side.
Enough was enough. You weren’t about to let her pay an obscene amount of money just because she couldn’t stomach the thought of sleeping with you. She’d have to suck it up.
“It’s fine,” you whispered, struggling to find conviction in your statement under the sudden attention of Emily and the receptionist. “We’ll be fine sharing.”
—
The hotel, for all its expensive charm, was quaint. The floor was carpeted and looked freshly cleaned, the bedding was crisp and neat over the queen-sized bed, and adjacent was an open door leading to what you assumed would be the bathroom. Once you’d set your bag down, you ignored Emily, too caught up in your disdain for the woman’s callousness to even look at her. She likely had disgust written all over her face, surveying the bed.
You took out your sleepwear, plucked a neatly folded towel off the foot of the bed, and stormed into the bathroom.
When the first spray of water hit, you wanted to cry. You wanted to scream. How had you been so stupid? The flirting, the underlying sexual tension–had it all been a wicked trick played by your mind? Did the months spent waiting for the right moment all lead down to this? The boiling point where everything fizzled into nothing but humiliating recognition.
A single tear fell down the drain, followed shortly by another and another. Soon, it was hard to pick apart the onslaught of tears from the water soaking your hair and rolling down your face. Behind your closed eyes, a movie montage of scattered memories began to roll. You and Emily nestled close together on your couch in the thralls of heated banter. You and Emily patching each other up, reprimanding foolish decisions with teasing remarks and antiseptic solution. You and Emily nestled in your own corner of the jet, dozing off to the drone of Spencer’s ramblings.
When you stepped out of the shower, the mirror painted a sore sight. Reflected in front of you were your puffy eyes, blotchy skin and one glum frown. You could chalk the redness to your face and the swell around your eyes to the sweltering shower. Your sorrowful expression, however, you’d have to fix.
Sighing, you brushed your teeth and splashed some icy water over your face, taking a deep inhale and deeper exhale before exiting the safe haven of the bathroom.
Emily stood outside, waiting.
“Somethings wrong.”
“With the case?” you asked, brushing past her to shove your clothes through the open zipper of your bag.
She followed you to the edge of the bed, hovering at your side with a pointed stare. “No.”
“There’s a lot of things wrong,” you huffed, dumping your black duffel on the floor with a thud. “You’ll have to be more specific.”
“Something’s wrong with you.”
You stood motionless for a brief second, letting the words register. “Excuse me?” you gaped, swivelling your body to glare at Emily.
“That’s not what I meant, and you know it’s not.”
“No, no,” you seethed. “Please, go on. Tell me what’s so wrong with me. Spare no detail. I want specifics.”
“You know what?” Emily shook her head, her humourless smile striking a skittish nerve in you. “I’m going to freshen up. By the time I finish, maybe you’ll have matured and learned to use your big girl words.” And with that, she grabbed her bag and towel, shooting you a disappointed scowl as she slammed and locked the bathroom door.
When she did return, you were in the midst of trying to get comfortable. Sensing by your lack of eye contact, you were no more ready to hash things out than you were before Emily drew in a long breath, flicked the lights off and circled the bed, settling in beside you.
Rest didn’t come easy, or at all. It was impossible to stay in one spot. The smell of Emily’s shampoo and body wash made it impossible to ignore her presence, and on top of that, every time you shut your eyes, an echo of your argument haunted you.
“Are you going to toss and turn all night?” Emily groaned.
In a flurry of movement, the brunette flipped over, facing you head-on as her hands gripped your hips to hold you still.
“I can’t sleep,” you bit out, trying to wriggle out of her hold. When that didn’t work, you brought your hands to her chest and applied light pressure. Emily’s grip tightened.
“I gathered that much.” As if holding you hostage wasn’t enough, Emily tugged your body closer, intent on turning this nightmare into a living hell. “What would help is talking to me about what’s got you so pent up instead of sulking and flailing about like a toddler mid-tantrum.”
“You suck.”
“So you’re taking the toddler thing to heart then.” Amusement danced in her eyes, and a flicker of a smile ghosted across her lips.
“Why did sharing a room with me bother you so much?” you mumbled.
Emily almost looked shocked. Disbelief cut a crease in the space between her brows. “It didn’t.”
You rolled your eyes and attempted to wriggle out of Emily’s grasp, again failing.
“I thought it bothered you, and I didn’t want you to feel uncomfortable. That’s why I was trying to sort out another room,” Emily explained, her smile never faltering as she brought her fingers up to your chin, thumb brushing the underside of your lip.
“Oh.”
“Sweetheart,” she drawled, her timbre low and husky, “all I’ve wanted these last few months was a chance to have you alone in bed.”
Oh.
The room was engulfed in silence. Slowly, everything became a blurred backdrop as your sole focus remained on Emily. Behind her, the moon shone through the window, bathing her hair in a soft silvery glow. It was loosely tied into a low ponytail and a shade darker than usual, the dampness of the shower still clinging to the thickest locks. Despite her face being skulked in shadows, offering you only the slightest glimpse of chestnut eyes and ivory skin, you could see her clear as day, the contours of her face forever ingrained in your mind's eye.
Months of pent-up tension crackled low in the suspended space between your bodies. You tried to move your tense muscles, coaxing them into seeing this was the time for action. They remained frozen.
In the end, it was Emily who made the first move.
You felt her draw closer, holding your breath for fear that one more pull of oxygen might break you out of this dreamlike scenario.
“I’m going to kiss you now,” she whispered before the press of her lips engulfed all your senses.
As it turned out, Emily’s shameless brags regarding her bedside manner were not untrue. In the small pocket of time it took her to undress you both, she’d managed to turn you into a wry mess of ardent need. She teased and teased till you forced your pride aside and begged her to slot her fingers inside you. To which she did without question.
Moving her fingers in and out, Emily brushed her thumb against the thousands of nerve endings, all condensed into one tiny button hidden at the apex of your sex. She worked your clit between her fingers, each drag up and down, sending a delicious thrill down your spine. Every thrust of her digits marked the spot of rough flesh burrowed within your pussy; expert precision ensuring it never remained untouched for too long.
Pleasure coursed hot through your veins, unyielding in its mission to draw you to your impending release. Mammoth waves of satisfaction rolled up and down your body, contorting limbs till your back arched and your chest pressed against Emily’s bare breasts. She didn’t stop when you moaned through the duration of your peak, pummeling her fingers into the convulsing grasp of your cunt till you were crying out and shaking from overstimulation.
“Fuck,” you sighed dreamily, the last sparks of your orgasm still very present in the tingling of your legs.
Emily settled on her back beside you, squeezing an arm under your waist and pulling you close. “Bet you’re glad I didn’t break the bank on that honeymoon suite now,” she smirked.
“You have no idea,” you chuckled.
Resting your head over her breastbone and listening to the steady drum of her heart, you let sleep lull your eyes shut.

Hart and Hunter - Chapter 41 - Part 1
*Warning Adult Content*
Dane Hunter
Chief Laura Coleridge arrives less than a quarter hour after our call ends.
I tell her the short version and leave werewolves out of it but after only a brief spate of shock and denial, she accepts the evidence with which she is presented easily enough.
More importantly, she agrees to my plan.
Maybe people are more open-minded in the middle of the night.
While a deputy drives Ingrid and Danni home, Freya packs four of the Fae, the seven children and Halloran's body in my old Ford Explorer and drives them up to the standing stones to wait for us.
Julian, Erickson, his niece, the two warrior Fae... Alyth and Sylv... and I go with Coleridge to Erickson's sister's house in a police SUV.
When we arrive, however, I see we're not the first ones there.
A fire engine idles outside, lights flashing and a police cruiser has just pulled up at the curb.
"Oh shit," Erickson breathes.
"Pauline."
As we pop the doors and pile out, though, I see Savannah's mother dashing down the front steps, tears streaking her face and a wild, frantic look in her eyes.
Then she sees Savannah and screams.
Running towards us, she snatches the sleepy, still-damp girl from Erickson's arms and collapses in tears.
As the Fae slip past her and into the house, I gather that the mother had awoken to a strange sound, gone into her daughter's room and found the window open and the child gone.
Fearing she'd been taken, she'd called the police.
"Skin-changer must have sensed or known we were coming, somehow," I murmur.
"Probably through Savannah. The mental link, remember?" Julian says.
"I bet as soon as we came through the portal, it knew the game was up and fled."
A moment later, Alyth and Sylv return, shaking their heads.
The skin-changer left no trace.
While Erickson invents some story about finding his niece sleepwalking 'his house is apparently nearby' the rest of us withdraw.
"Where do you think it went?" Julian asks and shudders.
"No idea," I say.
"But if it knows what's good for it, it'll stay far away from here."
Coleridge shakes her head.
"You and I have a long talk ahead of us, Hunter. I'm rolling with this now, 'cause it's that or arrest you all and that's too much paperwork. But I want a full, thorough and complete explanation as soon as you don't look and smell like shit."
Despite my tiredness, I bite back a smile.
"Yes, ma'am."
Leaving Erickson with his family, Coleridge drives the rest of us out of town and up into the hills to the standing stones.
She parks as close as she can get and then, with weariness weighting our steps, we cross the open meadow to the natural outcrop of white granite.
There, we find the others already gathered, along with what appears to be a small delegation of Fae.
The doorway between the arched stones is open, the air shimmering like rippling glass and a dozen Fae wearing long garments that flow like silk mill about tending to the time-orphaned children and to the dead.
Halloran's body lies uncovered upon a much grander bier than the stretcher of ferns and branches on which we carried him from the Shadowlands.
Candles burn around him and flowers cover him.
A woman kneels at his side and when she straightens, I bite back a gasp.
For a moment, I thought she was Rhiannon but from the likeness and Julian's description, I recognize Eirnín.
Spotting Julian, she approaches with her hands outstretched.
"Son of my daughter's son," she says, tears making her eyes shine bright.
"We meet again. I am glad to see you well, though I wish it were not under such sorrowful circumstances. I feel as if I have lost my daughter a second time and now my son."
"He was... very brave," Julian says.
"So were you all, I have heard but I am told you will speak on my daughter's behalf."
"Yes. I..." Julian sways on his feet and I steady him.
He's on the verge of collapse, now dangerously exhausted and badly in need of food, water and rest.
Eirnín gets the message.
She beckons to one of the Fae, who approaches bearing a silver tray on which rests a pitcher and a set of small silver cups.
Pouring some liquid into one, she hands it to him, then does the same for me.
"Drink. The tea will restore you, at least for a time and clear your mind."
Julian downs it without a second glance, so I do the same.
The effect is immediate and strong, like a mix of caffeine and alcohol... warming, relaxing and energizing at all once.
Julian holds out his cup.
"More, please."
"One is plenty and now, tell me this tale of yours."

Fluffbruary - Day 11 (anniversary)
Eleventh day of @fluffbruary, using the prompt "anniversary"
I completely botched this one, I had no ideas, and no motivation. Since Greg is a character I like a lot, I wanted to include him a bit more
Read on AO3
French version
-----
Greg feels like he's dying under the pile of paperwork. He loves his job, but how he wishes he had someone to do it for him. So when someone knocked on his door, he sighed with relief. A little distraction wouldn't hurt.
"Yes?"
The door opened and Donavan slipped his head in. "The freak is here."
All his hopes were dashed. Just what he needed, a Sherlock Holmes. It's been two weeks since he'd given him an investigation interesting enough to get his butt up out of his damn chair.
"Send him in."
Donavan disappears and Greg takes a deep breath as Sherlock barges into his office. Thank God John follows behind.
"Sherlock, John." Greet Greg. "Sorry but I don't have anything for you."
"We didn't come for that." Says Sherlock in his impatient tone.
Sherlock looks annoyed to be here, but the look John gives him seems to say he had no say in the matter.
Greg frowned. "Whatever it is, I don't have that much time." He said as he pointed to his desk completely out of order, files taking up all the space.
"Sherlock has something to give you." Said John with a mischievous look.
Greg feels like he's in front of an adult and a child. "Really?"
Sherlock pulled a box from behind his back and handed it to him with a sigh. Greg took it, exchanging a knowing smile with John. Sherlock was the child.
Inside, four doughnuts -his favourite- awaited him with a note. He licked his lips at the delicious treats, but took the note instead. He recognized Sherlock's delicate handwriting and John's sloppier one.
Happy Birthday! You’re getting dangerously close to 60 :)
Good thing I was there to remind Sherlock. And he dares to proclaim himself a genius.
I invite you to have a drink in the pub with me and watch a game while criticising what the players are doing (although I doubt we'll be able to do better than them) and complain about Sherlock!
John.
Greg smiles at John's note. An evening like he likes, talking about anything and everything with his friends.
Happy birthday Lestrade. I want to make it clear that I am in no way consenting to what I am writing at the moment, but if I don't, John forbids me to experiment on human body parts for two weeks. So I pretend to write a cliché note for your birthday while he watches me from the corner of his eye across the room. (There's a good chance he'll read this note later.)
Since he bought the donuts, for your gift he made me promise (again without my consent) not to get your name wrong for a month.
SH.
Ps: Yes, Sherlock, I read your message, you dumbass.
Greg raised his eyebrows in surprise as he discovered Sherlock's gift. The latter raised his eyes to the sky, but he could see his eyes shining with mischief. "Really?"
"He knows what awaits him if he doesn't respect it." John laughed.
Greg laughs with him as he sees Sherlock start to sulk.
And he thought he was having a crappy birthday.

i just had such a good request for a fic. dom/sub dynamic with dom!harry where y/n is being spanked for misbehavior and she ends up crying during it because she feels like she deserves to be hurt, and harry stops immediately and there’s a lot of fluffy aftercare and physical affection
thank you for the request!! i know it took me a million years to get to writing this but finally did it... i know it strays a little bit from all the details of your request but i hope you enjoy regardless!
warnings: spanking, dom/sub dynamic, descriptions of anxiety (maybe don’t read if you’re in a weird headspace, it’s not exactly pleasant!)
word count: 1.7k
. . . . .
As soon as Y/N hears Harry’s car in the driveway, she dashes from the kitchen to the front door like a kid that’s heard an ice-cream van. After the day of work at home she’s had, of redoing paperwork she’d messed up the first time and struggling through technical issues and communication errors over email—she just needs Harry so badly.
In fact, she’d texted him earlier to let him know. Quite blatantly. With a photo she prays he opened when there was nobody else around.
When Y/N opens the door for him he freezes, taking in her appearance. She’s wearing just panties and one of his shirts, her bare legs completely on display for him. His gaze sweeps up and down her body for a second, then he swears under his breath and strides in quickly. Y/N jumps back to give him room, waiting a few feet ahead in the hallway.
He shuts the door with his arm swinging back behind him, not even glancing over his shoulder to watch it close.
There’s a second of silence as they stare each other down, and it’s in this second that Y/N feels them slip into the roles of the game she’s been wanting to play all day. His eyes go from wide in shock to steady. Her head bows almost of its own accord, responding to the straightening of Harry’s shoulders after he drops his bag.
He inhales sharply through his nose and drops his keys into the bowl on the bench. “You’ve been doing this on purpose, darling,” he says in a measured tone. It isn’t a question. He won’t be asking questions now—she won’t have to think, she can just listen to him, let him take over now.
She plays with the bottom of his t-shirt that she’s wearing, pulling it up enough to reveal the slightly paler skin where her shorts would usually cover.
Harry’s tongue darts out to wet his lips. “Come here,” he says, beckoning her over.
She considers refusing, just to be a brat, but it’s a lot easier to just go along with him now she’s getting what she wanted. She twists her hands in the t-shirt in front of her as she approaches him, averting her eyes from his as he watches her, suddenly vulnerable under his gaze.
When she’s close enough, he reaches out and grabs her wrists to yank her grip on the shirt free, pulling her off balance so the only thing that stops her falling flat on her face is his arms. She tries to relax into his grip, tries to let herself go.
“Been so fucking needy today. That photo — nearly had me getting hard in the studio right in front of everyone, love,” he says, squeezing her wrists almost painfully. “And look how you answer the door, nearly naked for anyone walking on the street to see.” He shakes his head, clicking his tongue condescendingly. “Do you want to apologise for anything?”
She looks at him, pretends to think, and then shakes her head.
He sighs. “Of course not, you little brat.” His grip loosens. “Alright then. Go upstairs for me.”
She blinks at him.
“I’ll be up in a minute. Go on.” He spins her around and nudges her towards the stairs with a gentle push.
She glances over her shoulder at him before she goes and he only raises his eyebrows expectantly. She’s almost tempted to pull the back of the t-shirt down over her ass to cover herself, but that wouldn’t get her what she needs, and what she needs is Harry to take care of her—so she keeps her head bowed as she walks up the stairs, adding a little swing in her hips with each step just as the icing on the cake. She smiles when she hears his deep inhale from the hallway as he watches her the whole time.
Upstairs, she sits on the end of their bed with her hands in her lap, scratching at days-old nail polish she’ll need to redo soon. There’s a knot in her stomach that’s been twisting all day, stresses piling up and morphing into some ugly feeling she can’t shake, not without Harry’s help. She manages to peel all the bright pink colour off her left thumbnail while she waits.
It seems like forever before she hears Harry’s footsteps up the stairs but when she does, she straightens up. The sound of the door opening makes her jump in nervous shock. She flexes her fingers, trying to calm her jitters. It’s Harry. She needs him.
“Being such a brat today,” he says when he’s finally in front of her. “Aren’t you? Don’t know how to behave.” He sits beside her, squishing her cheeks with his thumb and forefinger. “Need me to teach you a lesson, hm?”
She nods at him, eyes moony. Yes, this is what she wants, needs from him—to let him take over for a little while, let him take out his frustration on her, help her let go of her own.
His grip softens a bit. “This okay, baby?” he asks more quietly.
She swallows. “Yeah.”
He leans forward and gives her a quick kiss. She feels like melting against the softness of his lips, pressing against her own, the mouth she knows so well. It’s a comfort in the mess that her mind is feeling like right now.
But he isn’t so gentle as he drags her over his lap a moment later, her face roughly pushed down into the mattress. His hand squeezes her ass, only barely covered by her panties, and her breath hitches.
“Count for me.”
“Yes sir,” she breathes, closing her eyes.
Her exhale is cut short by the force of his palm cracking against her skin, jolting her forward over his lap. The sting dissipates quickly, taking none of the tension inside her with it.
“One,” she says.
“Good girl.” His hand comes down on her again, harder this time.
She screws her eyes shut. “Two.”
It isn’t feeling like how she wants it to feel. She’s too tense, restless, her mind unwilling to float away under Harry’s touch. The pain, which usually is laced with something brilliant and exciting, is just pain today. But with all the mistakes she’s made today, all the things she messed up that have just added to her workload and her stress—maybe this is what she deserves. Punishments are called that for a reason.
So she stays where she is, her head lowered so Harry won’t see anything wrong. She gasps at the third, and it takes her a second to remember she needs to count. “Three,” she says, her voice shuddering.
Harry pauses and she fears she’s made him upset, spoken too quietly, taken too long—she can’t do anything right.
“Love,” he says. His hand comes to rest on her shoulder gently. “Are those good tears or bad tears?”
She squeezes her eyes shut for a moment and in the pause, realises her cheeks are wet. “Um,” she says. Her voice shakes.
Harry’s arm snakes underneath her and pulls her up, manoeuvring her so she straddles his lap and he can see her face. The crease between his brows is deep as his eyes dart over her face, his thumb coming to her cheek to brush a tear away.
She leans her head into his palm that was cracking down onto her skin just a minute ago and closes her eyes, taking a deep breath to steady herself.
“What happened? When did it change?” he asks, his voice soft again, his character leaving.
She shrugs. She doesn’t trust herself to speak without crying more, and she feels stupid enough already.
“It’s alright, love,” he says, shifting so he can sit up straighter and pull her closer to his chest. He rubs her back, kissing her hair. “Let’s just rest for a moment, alright?”
She nods into his shoulder, hiding her face. His hand cradles the back of her head. The panic that she was feeling is dissolving into nothing. All day she felt so tense with so much twisting inside her, and she’d thought she could force it out painfully—she was wrong, of course, and now she feels awful for roping Harry into her misguided attempt to fix herself.
After a couple minutes, Harry taps her to get her to look up at him. “Why’d you want a punishment today?” he asks, without accusation.
She shrugs, raising her shoulders as high as she can and then letting them drop sharply. “Just felt like I needed it.”
He nods. He understands that sometimes she feels like this—needs to lose herself in playing a role for an evening, forget about real life and its responsibilities—because he knows the feeling too. She’s helped him in this way before. They take it in turns: give each other what they need, when they need it. “Wasn’t helpful today, though?” he prompts, his eyebrows raised sympathetically.
She shakes her head, looking sheepish. “Sorry.”
“Hey,” he says. He smiles a little bit and a shallow dimple appears in his cheek. “That’s fine. It’s just a game. We play it whenever you want to, we stop playing when you’re not enjoying it. That’s important, alright?”
“Yeah,” she says quietly. “Sorry.”
“Need to stop apologising, baby,” he tells her. “Just keep talking to me. I don’t want to hurt you.” He kisses her cheek and the gesture raises butterflies in her stomach, even still after all the months they’ve been together. It reminds her that he’s there for her, to look after her, to take care of her when she can’t do it for herself. His lips stay close to her skin as he asks, “How can I help, though, really?”
She buries her face back into his shoulder. “Dunno,” she says, her voice muffled. “Just need you.”
She feels his chin gently knock against the top of her head as he nods, his arms tightening around her again. “You’ve got me, baby. Always got me.”

I'm sending this assuming that requests are open. If not, feel free to ignore this, haha
Can I request the bros reacting to mc getting annoyed and worried during a thunderstorm, and when they ask why mc answers with something akin to "my dog is terrified of thunderstorms, so it's become instinct to find him and comfort him"?
I've been slow to answer requests lately. Sorry, this took so long.
Lucifer:
Your constant pacing is annoying him. Lucifer can’t figure out why you are so agitated, and your pacing is starting to distract him from the paperwork he has to have done by morning. “It’s just a thunderstorm, Mc please.”
You whip around to glare at him so quickly he is taken aback.
Nothing in your expression says fear, and to be honest, Lucifer is relieved you don’t seem to be afraid of the storm. He hadn’t handled the situation well and he wouldn’t ever want you to think he cares so little for you that he would brush aside your fears as if they meant nothing.
Now that he is thinking clearly again he changes tactics.
“Mc, my dear, what has got you so upset?”
“My dog hates thunder, and I always have to comfort him during a storm. He’s not here. But I can’t help but worry. And it’s just instinct now I guess.
Lucifer seriously considers bringing your dog to the Devildom.
But the trouble that would get him into, the paperwork, Diavolo, the chance that some sort of harm could come to your pet dissuades him from that idea.
“I’m sorry mc.” and he really does look distressed that he can’t help you.
Until he realizes that Cerberus isn’t the biggest fan of thunder either. Cerberus’s room is more protected from the noise of the storm but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like attention and comfort during a storm.
Lucifer takes your hand and silently leads you down to Cerberus.
You are understandably reluctant at first but Lucifer assures you that Cerberus is completely docile while he is around.
Soon you are snuggled up against the three-headed dog and Lucifer is finishing his work on the ground next to you.
Mammon:
Mammon bluntly asks you what has you so annoyed
“Oi human, what’s got ya all antsy?”
The way he says it makes you want to fight him just a little.
But he’s a demon and there’s no way a human could scare him with a little glare. Well normally your glare might scare him just a bit, but the look in your eyes now is tempered by the worry that is so clear on your face.
He drags you to his room and has you explain exactly why you are so worried.
Mammon asks you all about your dog.
He somehow distracts you by getting you to tell him all kinds of cute and funny stories about your dog.
You end up sitting with Mammon for hours, music playing in the background, almost completely forgetting about the storm.
He definitely wants to meet your dog now.
He’ll even go to Lucifer to get permission to visit your home in the human realm so you can both see your dog.
Levi:
You are distracting him from his gaming and it takes Levi a second to process that you might need his comfort.
“If you are going to be a distracting normie, could you at least not pace in front of the screen Mc?”
You apologetically move away from the screen towards the door.
“W-Wait! I didn’t mean you should leave! What’s wrong?”
You hesitate not sure if you want to tell him now, but then you spot Henry in his fishbowl.
“My dog hates thunder,” you say refusing to look at Levi and staring at the fishbowl instead “I usually have to go find him when a storm starts. But he’s not here, and I dunno… I think it’s just like instinct to comfort him but I cant so…”
Levi gets it.
He has so much love for his pets. Even the ones that grew into giant demon-eating monsters that don’t even recognize him.
He’d do almost anything for them.
You can’t go comfort your dog, but maybe Levi can comfort you?
He’ll try, even if he is blushy and nervous.
You’ll spend the storm exchanging stories about your pets and watching animes that are eerily similar to your situation. Like ‘My demon dog hates storms but I’m in the human realm and now the storms make me anxious because I can’t help but worry about him.’ and ‘My crush is worried about her pets and I almost messed everything up, but don’t worry I think I can help!’
Satan:
It’s no secret this demon is more of a cat lover.
But he still cares about your dog because he cares about you.
Blunt demon 2.0
Straight up asks you about your behavior as soon as you start acting weird. Although he is much more polite about it than Mammon.
“Mc, is there something you want to talk about? You seem distressed.”
“No!” you snap “Yes? Maybe? I don’t know Satan. This storm is driving me crazy! Every fiber of my being tells me I need to go find him. But he’s not here and I can’t help but worry and I know you mean well but there is nothing you can do to fix this.”
“Oh, well I don’t know if I would say there is nothing I can do. But who is he, kitten?” he asks gently, trying to understand
“My dog.”
You stare at him as he goes rummaging through the piles on one of his bookcases. After several minutes he turns triumphantly to you holding an ornamental metal hand mirror out to you.
It looks beyond old, and it’s surprisingly heavy and sturdy when he hands it to you.
“Just think of your dog and look in the mirror.”
“Like beauty and the beast?” you joke.
“Where do you think the ‘beast got the mirror in the first place?” Satan asks.
“I-What? You mean you-”
Satan’s eyes glint “That’s a story for another time, but yes I gave the ‘beast’ his magic mirror. But the fairy tales butchered the actual story,” He sighs.
You look in the mirror as instructed and see your dog with your family, tale wagging, dashing across a grassy field after a ball.
You smile “Thank you, Satan. This really helps.”
“Anytime Mc”
Asmo:
Asmo is telling you about his latest Devilgram post and how his followers “simply loved seeing the picture of you on the Ferris wheel with him,” when the first clap of thunder rolls through the air above the house of lamentation.
When you jump up at the sound Asmo thinks you’re afraid of the storm.
He carefully places the top to the nail polish he was using back on the bottle before focusing on you. “Darling, are you ok?”
You shake your head, pacing to the door then back to your vacated seat on Asmo’s bed.
“Mc darling can you tell me what’s wrong?” Asmo analyses your expression quickly, he’s looking for fear but doesn’t find any.
“It’s the storm,” you murmur “My dog can’t stand thunder and I’m used to going to find him when a storm starts. But I can’t really do that here so I’m stuck not knowing what to do with myself.”
“Oh Mc, that’s absolutely adorable!”
You glare half-heartedly at the demon.
“Don’t look at me like that!” Asmo pouts “I can’t help but react when you act so sweet.” he hums in thought for a moment.
“Is there someone taking care of him now?”
You nod “Yes, but I still worry sometimes.”
“I know darling. How about we go ask Lucifer if you can go for a visit tomorrow?”
You perk up at the thought and Asmo grins “Good, then we’ll do that first thing tomorrow morning. But for now, do you think we can distract you with a movie and some facemasks?”
Beel:
Beel doesn’t want to intrude, but he can’t help it when your mood starts affecting him.
He can’t enjoy the snacks he just bought when you seem so upset.
“Mc… will you tell me how I can help you?”
The sincerity of his question shocks you for a moment.
You blink up at him, feeling heat blooming in your cheeks.
“I’m sorry Beel, I didn’t mean to ruin your snacks”
“It’s ok Mc, you're more important.”
“It’s just that storms bother me. My dog hates them and when I can’t be there to comfort him I get… well like this.”
Beel nods and asks if you’d like to do something to take your mind off the storm.
“I don’t really know if I can just forget about the storm, you know?”
“That’s ok, how about we make some comfort foods then?”
Beel has you choose some music to play in hope of concealing the sound of thunder and you end up talking about your dog and cooking your favorite foods.
Beel is content helping out even if you aren't in the best of moods as long as he can help cheer you up just a bit.
Belphie:
Belphie is already annoyed that the thunder is keeping him from sleeping.
So your mood fits right in with his.
You can both be anxious/ annoyed little terrors together.
The rest of the brothers are giving you both plenty of space.
Somehow having someone in a similar mood as your own is helpful.
You can both be a little snappy without the other being offended or impatient.
You probably end up in a pile of pillows and blankets with Belphie. You're both a little restless but eventually, the comfort of the blankets and Belphie’s warmth calm you.
He’ll make sure you’re ok, with gently probing questions to find out what caused your mood.
He can’t exactly help your situation, after all, he doesn’t have the power to bring your dog to the Devildom and he doubts Lucifer would let him anyways.
But he can, and will let you talk if you want, and if not he’ll support you in silence.
He likes it best when you are happy but he knows there are problems he can’t solve.
He’ll ask if you’d like to dream about being home with your dog and if so he’ll influence your dreams.

You're My Dad! Boogie Woogie Woogie! (Diavolo & Reader)
Ever wanted to call Diavolo your dad? No? Well too bad, I have the perfect fic for you down below!
AO3 Version Here!
If you like my writing, please let me know! My inbox is empty and it's hungry for OM content.
Bold = Diavolo's text
Italicized and Indented = MC's text
Like every natural disaster, it came without a warning.
It started off like every other day. Wake up, go to RAD, do student council duties, go home, sleep, repeat. Of course, there would be an occasional (read: frequent) occasion outside of the standard norm, but today was not one of those times.
“Here you go!” You handed Diavolo your latest finished report. “I’ve even separated the approved and rejected request forms and sorted them alphabetically for easier reading.” You said proudly. Sure enough, the Prince quickly thumbed through one of the piles and made a noise in his throat that sounded positive.
Next thing you know, he gives you one of his iconic smiles. “Excellent work as always, MC.” He tells you. “Your help is always appreciated! Thanks to you, we’ve made a tremendous dent in all this paperwork. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
The praise he was pouring on you felt so good. You try not to visibly react to it, but your brain dumped a massive pool of serotonin from his words alone. Hell, you can even feel your cheeks warming up. It always felt good to be praised by your peers, but there was something about the way Diavolo praises you that fuels you to work hard for the next one. While you were chasing that high and not wanting to be rude you simply replied with,
“Thanks, dad.”
And all of Devildom seemed to freeze over. You could hear Lucifer’s pen dropping to the floor behind you while Mammon choked on something somewhere else in the room. There were no sounds of papers being written or even talking. All eyes landed on you as the reality of what you said started to sink in.
Oh fuck, did you call the Prince of Literal Hell your Dad? Well, he’s such a huge guy and acts almost exactly like those kind-hearted fathers you always see on social media in your realm. It doesn’t help that your actual dad kinda sucks, so maybe this is projection at work. Sadly, the damage has already been done. You could see Diavolo’s face turn from confusion to amusement in a matter of seconds.
“I...I…” Your already red face got darker when you heard the faint snickering coming from Barbatos. Fearing that your rapid heart bursting through your chest, you can only manage to squeak a “Bye!” Before dashing out of the building and out of the academy.
So here you are, holed up in your honorary room at Purgatory Hall while your D.D.D. continues to blow up on the nightstand next to the bed. You couldn’t go back to the HOL, not immediately at least. You felt so embarrassed that you called your housemates’s semi-boss your father.
At least the residents at Purgatory Hall understood your human err. Solomon did give you some shit about it, but that was a given because, well, it’s Solomon. If he wasn’t teasing you about this, then you would have bigger fish to fry in Hell. Simeon was the most sympathetic person about your current predicament while Luke was just happy that you’re hanging out for a few hours. He can complain about the demons later.
You just hope this shitshow cools down soon. Maybe a nap will calm you down.
~
Hours have passed. Still afraid to look at your phone, your only indicator of time passing was Simeon coming up to your room with a tray of tonight’s dinner with a side dish almost overflowing with cookies courtesy of Luke. Bless these angels, both of them.
And sure enough, your phone stopped vibrating non-stop. Before you could deduce that the battery died, a singular buzz proved otherwise. Damn it.
Still, you couldn’t avoid the brothers forever. They’ll probably kick up another storm of messages since you haven’t replied to them initially. With a defeated sigh, you grabbed your phone and unlocked it. Let's see...143 messages in the HOL+Royals group chat, 103 messages in the HOL group chat, 87 messages from Mammon, 15 messages from Asmo, 10 messages from Lucifer, 5 messages from Levi, 1 message from Satan, 2 messages from Diavolo-
...2 messages from Diavolo. Sent a minute ago. Welp, no use avoiding him either since he’s the sole reason you’re even in Hell in the first place.
MC! Are you alright? You sure ran out of the room quite fast. I didn’t know humans could reach those speeds.
I apologize if I offended you somehow.
With a big gulp, you started writing back.
im okay! Hunkering down at Purgatory atm
if anything, I should be apologizing to you lol
Five minutes passed before he texted back.
That’s good to hear! (smiling devimoji)
Hopefully the brothers haven’t bothered you too much from this.
you have no idea.
(gurgle devimoji)
I have to say, you certainly caused a stir. I couldn’t help but wonder about something.
MC, do you see me as a father figure?
uh, no? If anything, I see you as a bother figure
cuz your always bothering me
God damn you, brain! Think before you speak for fuck’s sake! Quick, do something that'll lessen the blow!
lol
Nailed it!
(hehe devimoji)
I see.
I have been called many things, good and bad, because of my position. Being called dad is a new one.
It’s certainly not...unpleasant.
He’s going to kill you at this rate. You know he will.
ill make sure not to do it again. sorry chief
tho im sure i caused a riot during the meeting
No worries!
And you left it like that. Your mind was pulling blanks on how to respond. You could figure it out as you reply to the others, but you really don’t have the mental fortitude to face them now that Diavolo is embracing his new moniker happily.
And of course, think about the demon prince and he shall appear. Again. What he sent made you groan into your pillow.
How about this weekend we can talk about what human fathers normally do over some sandwiches and tea?
...that sounds nice
Great! Looking forward to it!
(smiling devimoji)
Even though this whole ordeal was embarrassing, you couldn’t help but smile at the prospect of your future meetup. While your actual dad had no redeemable qualities about him, there were always memes.
Curling up in your bed, you begin your hunt across the Demon Web with a VPN that lets you access human websites in order to bring your A-Game this weekend.
Maybe this turned out to be a good thing, after all.

Which animal are you?
Eagle
The eagle is the master of the sky. You like your freedom a lot and are very secure when you have liberties. You like people but not too many in the same place and even more if they restrain you in any ways. Confrontation is part of you, but you only use it when it is needed. When not, you avoid it in the most political way. You are a autonomous person and you need to use this to your advantage.

Fade

Word Count: 3.4k
Bingo slot: Vigilante AU
Pairings: Takami Keigo x Reader
Tag/Warnings: Slight violence
Synopsis: Dealing with this vigilante was almost like an endless game of tag. Hawks knew it was only a matter of time until he found out her identity. What he didn't expect was realizing she was closest than he thought.
A new entry for @bnhabookclub's bingo event! Thank you @pixxiesdust for helping me bounce off some ideas! This one-shot's for my dear wifey @Hawks-senseis!
“Suspect’s heading your way Hawks. They’ve sustained a fair amount of injuries, should be a piece of cake for the number two hero.” The intercom died down with a wave of static.
Sighing tiredly, Hawks kept his regular pace, flying leisurely across the dark sky cluttered with stunningly bright stars. The scenario above and the lights from the buildings dispersed all across the city, shining just as strongly as the dark sky in the middle of the night, are a scenario that he could easily consider breath-taking.
If only he wasn’t so busy chasing after this one particular villain, then he’d certainly be relaxing at the top of a building, admiring the view with a satisfied smile, allowing the soft breeze of the night to brush peacefully against his face. All while enjoying a nice, warm canned drink in the middle of this cold night.
Maybe once this runaway criminal was finally trapped behind bars, ready to face justice, Hawks could actually manage to take that well-deserved break. And perhaps, some of his favorite yakitori would accompany that drink as well.
“Come on, where is he?” For a villain as quick on his feet as the reports mentioned, this guy was seriously taking his sweet time to show his god-damn face. Groaning impatiently, Hawks finally had enough and began flying in the direction the villain should have come from a long time ago.
But what he witnessed in its place was more than enough to make the hero do a double-take. Not only was this villain face down on the floor, but there was also someone else standing tall above him, tying up the struggling, seething criminal, who kept swearing like a sailor as he attempted to get out of the restrains.
“What took you so long birdy?” Said person slowly turned around to face the winged hero. When their “eyes” met, Hawks couldn’t help groaning in disdain once he recognized that costume. A black sleeveless hoodie, accompanied by matching pants and military boots. But the most characteristic trait was that white kitsune mask, adorned with six stripes across the cheeks; two purple ones, and a gold one in between, a total of three marks adorning both sides of her ‘face’.
“You again? I swear this is the fourth time this week!” Hawks ran a hand all over his face out of frustration. Even with that mask on, he could feel the smug vibes around her, and he could almost swear she also gave him a sly smirk.
“You should know this by now. Vigilante work is illegal.” Eyes wandered up into the dark sky as he breathed in deeply, before exhaling slowly as he looked back down. Hawks turned his attention back at the woman standing before him with her hands on her hips, confidently angled to the side.
“And you should know by now that isn’t going to stop me. I’m a big girl, I can handle myself.” Jerking the rope in hand, she easily pulled the villain off the ground, dragging him in between her and the hero standing before them. “Here, Merry Christmas!”
The villain was sent crashing down on the groaning hero, courtesy of a swift kick to the back. The near-collision was a good distraction for her. As Hawks became busy catching the delinquent, a loud “poof!” was heard, and when he looked up, there was a golden, glittery mist, and at the top of the roof, she observed him for a solid minute, before running off.
“Oh no, you won’t!” Hawks quickly pushed the stumbling criminal away from himself, and towards the arms of an upcoming sidekick that only happened to appear at exactly the same time this vigilante ran off on her own. Quickly spreading his vermilion wings wide open, Hawks took off into the sky, decided to catch this girl once and for all, so he could finally give her a piece of his mind.
He had to admit, she was pretty fast. Once he got her on sight, she was already a good distance away from the scene, and she hadn’t even used her quirk to keep the distance with the blond.
Looking back over her shoulder, he could almost feel that smug grin again as she kept jumping swiftly between rooftops, not losing balance for a single second as she kept dashing with an elegant and balanced step.
Finally, Hawks eventually caught up and landed in front of her with a soft thump as his feet touched hard surface below, wings raised high in the air folded into themselves before settling down on his back. Hawks smiled at her nonchalantly as both of them stayed still, looking at each other for a solid minute before he coughed in his hand to break the silence.
“You do realize this is illegal behavior? don’t you, Fade?”
“Fade” just tilted her head, feigning innocence while staring at the hero before her. She may be wearing a disguise to hide her identity, but even with it, Hawks just knew she was giving him a teasing smile underneath that mask.
“Oh? Is that so? What are you gonna do about it, pretty bird? Handcuff me?” She places her hand closer by the wrists, presenting them before the hero, it was a taunt, a challenging for him to arrest her at once, and for a second, he was tempted to clap those wrists in between the metallic restrains. “First you’re gonna have to catch me!”
Fade’s body started giving out the same sparkly smoke from before, just to be interrupted as a hand wrapped itself firmly around her wrist, snapping her out from focus, and preventing her from teleporting away from the hero.
“I just did. Now, you have to report everything to the police and who knows? Maybe they’ll let you off the hook easily, maybe they won’t.” But Fade wasn’t fazed in the slightest by his statement or even bothered moving from the spot. “As much as I appreciate your help back there. I’m gonna have to turn you in for illegal hero activity.”
His hand reached out for her mask. The idea of seeing her face for the first time after dealing with her intervenience for months now was so enthralling, that he completely missed it when something hit him on his side with force, knocking his breath away for just enough time for Fade to quickly escape from the hero’s grasp.
“For one of the fastest heroes out there, that sure was a slow reaction!” Her teasing laughter echoed through their surroundings like that of the Cheshire cat itself as she held a retractile staff in hand. Fade began walking backward with a bounce on her steps before a golden, glittery mass spread around her figure before teleporting her away from the scene much to Hawk’s frustration. He was so close this time!
“Shit, she’s good.”
Feathers fluttered wildly around in the air out of pain and pent-up frustration. This was the first time he managed to get this close since the very first time they met. He glared irritatedly at the spot where Fade once stood before him with a confident stance.
The chance to look for Fade disappeared just as fast when the shrill sound of his transmitter went off inside his ear. The voice of the sidekick who had taken the villain off his hands could be heard through the other side, as they gave the hero a status report.
Disappointed, he opted to call it a day before heading back home. Next time he ran into Fade it would definitely end with her caught. But right now, his body begged for some well-needed rest that unfortunately couldn’t be provided just yet, remembering the piles of pending paperwork, waiting patiently at his desk back at the agency, Hawks sighed tiredly before heading back to the office. Today would end up being one of those nights he’d spend sleeping on the couch even though he was single...
“So much for a nice, quiet night…”
The next day was followed by clear skies, engulfing everything around with a pleasant warmth. At least this was something Hawks could enjoy with tranquility as he walked to one of his favorite restaurants in town, mouth-watering at the idea of having one of his favorite meals and one of the house specials.
As soon as he stepped inside the small building packed with people, a cheerful chorus welcomed the hero inside. Every employee and customer inside greeted the hero eagerly, excited to see one of the top heroes coming for one of his favorite dishes and his usual meal at that small, but enjoyable local that greeted everyone inside with their tender, family-friendly environment.
After chatting with some of the staff and fans, Hawks quickly strolled towards his usual spot and took a seat, staring outside through the crystal walls separating everyone inside from the outside. Not only did This little restaurant had some of the best food, but it also had some of the best views he could ask for, the perfect spot to relax as he watched people passing by and at the same time he kept an eye open for any villain activity.
He may be on break, but you never know when a hero is needed, right?
The soft clank on the table catches his attention and he smiles knowing just who is beside the clothed table, serving a glass of cold water with a sweet smile on her face.
“Is nice to see you again Hawks!” You welcomed him happily before pulling out the small notepad from a pocket at the side of the uniform’s small apron, next was a pen that spun gracefully in between your fingers before its inky tip was pressed over the smooth, blank paper. “Let me guess, having the usual again, am I right?”
The hero just leaned on his hand with a chuckle “You know me too well, don’t you, y/n?” He observed you, quickly writing down his order without having to ask twice for anything else. sides? something extra? You already knew his order like the back of your hand.
Speaking of hands….
If there was something Hawks as good at was being observant, as he noticed the bandage carefully wrapped around the girl’s wrist and the slight, almost unnoticeable wince she gave every now and then as she had to move her hand in a way that put pressure on the joint.
“Aaaalright! The house’s special coming up hot! Same drink, as usual, right?” He nodded in response. Despite the discomfort from the small injury, you kept serving the hero with nothing but a cheerful smile and attitude of literal sunshine that always left the hero entranced.
A few minutes later, he saw you coming back with a steaming plate of fried chicken, but not just any fried chicken. This restaurant was well-known for its secret seasoning they used to marinate most of their dishes. Not only that, but it was also covered with this rich, homemade spicy sauce that left everyone on cloud nine after the first bite, and even those who weren’t fans of spicy food ended up obsessed with its peculiar flavor.
“Here you go Mrs. Hero! The house special with a side of fries, enjoy your meal!” As soon as the plate was placed down, one of his hands grabbed yours. His slender fingers traced the outline of the bandage with a soft caress that sent shivers down your spine.
“What happened to your hand, y/n? Is not what I think it is, right?” He asked, voice full of concern as you began stuttering.
“I-it’s nothing, I just tripped back home and landed on my wrist, don’t worry about it, Hawks!” You reassured the blond, pulling your hand back from his grasp before heading back to get his drink.
His gaze followed after you for a while. For a second he thought it had something to do with an abusive partner until he remembered you mentioning being single. How did he ever forget that when the two of you have been throwing mixed signals at each other for months now? He could still remember the first time your eyes met when he came to check the place out for the very first time and how much of a mess you were, after all, it was your first day of work.
So for the time being Hawks just let it slip with some hesitation, eventually he stopped worrying so much before taking a small bite of his chicken and groaning with gusto by that mouth-watering flavor of the sauce, the food in this place was really out of this world.
If he hadn’t been so busy with his food, Hawks would have noticed the cautious look you sent him from the other side of the local, waiting for another customer to order.
A few weeks later…
Once again, Hawks was busy flying through the skies as he patrolled the city at late hours of the night. The way the building’s lights illuminated their surroundings was a sight to remember when you had the chance to see them high up in the sky.
For once, it appeared that he was finally gonna have the chance to enjoy the scenario without a single disturbance. That is until he sees someone sitting at the edge of a rooftop, who seemingly had the same idea as him as they leaned back looking at the vast, dark sky.
That’s when he caught sight of that all too familiar mask. The mere sight was enough to make him groan internally, knowing that whenever Fade was around, the night would be anything but calm…. But then he thought, maybe this time he’d finally get the chance to find out just who was hiding underneath that mask.
Quickly, he landed a few feet behind the masked hero and tried to get close enough. But instantly she leaned forward, letting herself fall off the building before disappearing into a golden burst. surprised, Hawks strolled all the way to the edge and looked down, just to see nothing but that unique mist.
A foot quickly shoved him from behind, followed by that peculiar laughter as he struggled to regain balance for a second, completely caught off guard by the vigilante’s antics before his wings began thrashing wildly in a desperate attempt to help him regain balance. And once the hero finally was back on his normal stance, he turned back to give the cackling girl gripping the sides of her stomach a small glare.
“ahahaha! The look on your face!” She wiped away an imaginary tear, or maybe she was actually tearing up, Hawks couldn’t tell with that cursed mask “Should’ve brought my camera, that look was gold!”
Fade’s shoulder kept trembling the more time she spent laughing at the winged, who’s only response consisted of a bashful glare in her direction.
“Oh come on birdy, don’t give me that look.” Fade walked up to him, hands placed confidently over her hips as she leaned forwards, face tilted up slightly to be face to face with the hero. “For someone who enjoys teasing others non-stop, you’re too easy to rile up y’know?”
She quickly jerked her body back to dodge the hand that aimed for the mask, narrowly missing those leather gloves, which barely grazed that intricate piece of wood that did such a good job when it came to hiding her identity from both the heroes and the public.
“Geez, so forward! Buy me some dinner first!” She sassed, walking backwards again, with a turn on her heels Fade turned her back on the blond and began running away. The sound of wings fluttering swiftly pulled the corners of her hidden lips into a smirk when she literally felt as the hero quickly followed after her.
But if there was something Fade was just as good as Hawks, was at speed. Inhaling deeply, her body became surrounded into golden energy before she rapidly began teleporting from building to building, a special movement that focused on distracting her foes.
Her little trick managed to confuse Hawks only for a moment, quickly he used some stray feathers in order to pinpoint her next location with the aid of their ability to detect vibrations. The feathers managed to feel a small trembling in the spot where she was meant to appear next and Hawks quickly moved in position.
Just as predicted, that golden burst appeared all of sudden and this time Fade nearly crashed into the hero standing in her way, had it not been for her quickly maneuver, placing her hands on the hero’s shoulder to propel herself high in the air, nearly sending Hawks crashing down on the floor.
“Getting slow, aren’t you birdy?” She mocked him, still in the air while he growled in frustration “Maybe you should tone it down on that spicy chicken and extra fries!”
…Wait a second…
He quickly turned around with eyes widened in realization, that sentence was like the missing piece he was looking for “What did you just say?”
The realization hit Fade like a slap to the face, her body became tense once she realized what she told him. Just that little bit of information was more than enough for Hawks to know her identity once and for all. After all, he was no idiot, he just pretended to be.
“You idiot…!” She whispered to herself before attempting to teleport once again, but this time Hawks was ready. In the blink of an eye he had already caught up to her, when she teleported again the stray feathers were already doing their job looking for her next location, the chase quickly turned to Hawk’s favor when it became obvious just how nervous Fade had become.
There was one thing he just didn’t get...Why was someone like you doing as a vigilante? After getting to know you for months now, it was so hard to understand for him. But right now his main focus was to catch you. He knew the police would go easy on you, the only reason he said those words last time was that he was irked with Fade- well, you to be exact….
In the midst of his distraction, he barely noticed when you crashed into each other with force, knocking the both of you off balance before falling off the rooftop in a tangled mass of limbs. His protective instincts kicked in as he quickly turned around mid-air, pulling your startled body into his chest out of reflex. Somehow a part of your jacket had become tangled into his wings, preventing them from moving around to stop the fall…
It seemed luck was on their side when they fell into an empty alleyway. The trash bags littering the floor helping to cushion their fall, but they couldn’t help when Hawk's breath was knocked away by the impact on his back, as well as your weight landing harshly on top of him.
“You ok?” He couldn’t help asking, more worried about the girl in his arms than his own well-being. Hawks sighed with relief when you slowly lifted yourself up with a small, pained groan before looking at him, feeling slightly awkward once the realization hit in, that you were sitting on top of the winged hero.
He received no vocal answer, but rather a physical one as your hand grabbed the lower part of the mask to lift it off your face for a small moment, then swiftly you leaned down to plant a deep kiss over the male’s soft lips.
The gesture caught him off guard at such point, that for a minute Hawks forgot how to breathe. Eyes wide in surprise and body going stiff as all he could concentrate on was your soft lips moving against his own.
But before he had the chance to kiss back, you had already shoved him away by the shoulder with a devilish smile back in that sweet, flushed face as you slowly licked your lips teasingly.
“This isn’t over Birdy...See you around~”
You vanished from view in a flash, leaving behind a sparkling, golden cloud. As well as a stupefied hero laying into a pile of trash bags who only draped his arm over his face.
He would definitely need to have a chat with you the next time he went to the restaurant.

She Used to Be Mine
(A Criminal Minds Fic)
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Female!Reader
Summary: The reader finally left her scum of the earth boyfriend of a year and a half, and she finds out she’s pregnant with his baby when the team gets done with a case. She lets out her frustrations about the whole situation during an open mic night at a bar, not knowing the rest of the team is there, too, and has to explain what’s been going on with her.
Genre: Oof, this is some painful stuff here, buddy. Maybe a little fluff at the end? I dunno.
Warnings: Minor language, mentions of abuse, mentions of an unhealthy relationship, brief allusions to doing the do, mentions of unwanted pregnancy, slight mentions of normal Criminal Minds stuff
A/N: I’m gonna apologize in advance for this one, guys. I’ve had “She Used to be Mine” from Waitress stuck in my head for like two days, and this came to me in a dream last night, so allow me to write out my brain vomit and slap it on the internet. Enjoy. Just a note, I have never seen or listened to Waitress in its entirety, I just know what this song is about and am writing this solely based on that one song. (Also, Y/S/N means “Your Sister’s Name”. If you don’t have a sister, make one up if you’d like)
Word Count: 3514
———————————————————————
Y/N didn’t know how she let this happen. She kept telling herself that she was going to leave him. That their situation was only going to get worse. That if she didn’t get out of there soon she could potentially die, and she never did. She had gradually been transitioning more and more of her stuff out of the apartment and into the trunk of her car to make leaving easier, and she had packed up all her things of value into a suitcase and kept it stashed in the hall closet ready to go just in case, because the Lord knows he never even gave it a second glance. Then finally after two months of delaying the inevitable, a blow-out argument and a handful of shattered beer bottles finally gave her the push she needed, and she slammed the door of his apartment behind her and never looked back once while dragging her suitcase down the stairs and out the door of his building to her car.
Luckily Y/N’s older sister Y/S/N also lived in D.C., and she was more than happy to let Y/N stay at her place until she found somewhere for herself. Y/N didn’t even know how to tell the rest of the team about the breakup, but she was glad she wouldn’t have to cover up bruises with makeup and lackluster excuses anymore. Y/N decided to let them profile it out for themselves because she didn’t want to waste anymore time, energy, or thoughts on her ex ever again.
The next day at work, the entire team immediately picked up on a change in Y/N’s demeanor, but none of them acknowledged it and let Penelope present their latest case in Madison, Wisconsin without so much as a questioning glance towards her. Well, everyone but Spencer, that is. He had his head cocked like a confused puppy while squinting at Y/N the entire meeting. Emily had to snap her fingers in front of his face at least twice to get him to pay attention again, which made Y/N a little nervous, because she really didn’t want him to confront her, mainly because she knows it’s impossible for her to lie to him.
They got on the jet, and once they were in the air, Y/N suddenly felt really nauseous and made a mad dash for the bathroom, making everyone turn to shoot a confused and worried look in that direction. Once she slammed the door shut and locked it behind her, she threw open the lid of the toilet and had at it. After she had finished, she flushed away the vomit and reasoned that she probably had something past its date for breakfast that morning and brushed it off.
Throughout the whole case, Y/N had random bouts of nausea and had to excuse herself during really important stuff to go and find the bathroom. She even had to run out during a suspect interrogation leaving Emily to talk to the perp, and had to leave while they delivered the profile to avoid losing her lunch and crappy bullpen coffee all over the suspect and the local cops. The whole team was worried for her, but she insisted she was fine and kept working, much to Spencer’s chagrin, but he just let her do what she had to do, because he’d learned to not mess with Y/N when she’s on a roll the hard way.
After they had caught the unsub and saved the would-have-been victim, Y/N found herself fighting back her own tears as she comforted the poor, traumatized girl, which was weird because that had never happened before. Once the team had packed up and got in the SUVs to head to the airfield, they had to stop at a gas station right before they left the town. Y/N grabbed her wallet and said, “I gotta take a bathroom break before we get out of here,” and both JJ and Emily nodded before she got out of the car and went into the store.
Y/N went straight for the pregnancy tests and grabbed a box of three before heading to the counter and paying, because she had a hunch she needed to prove. She went to the bathroom, and took all three once she locked herself in a stall. She set them on top of the toilet paper dispenser thing and timed two minutes on her watch. Once the two minutes were up, she took a deep breath and grabbed the tests. Y/N almost passed out when she saw that all three read “positive”, but that’s when she realized her period was a couple of weeks late.
After that realization, she smacked her head against the wall of the stall, because she knew exactly how she’d gotten pregnant: Her stupid, lowkey abusive, borderline alcoholic ex had somehow convinced her to go with him to a sports bar to meet his stupid, annoying, borderline alcoholic friends and watch some sports game three weeks ago, they’d both gotten decently drunk, and she woke up the next morning with a killer hangover and without clothes.
Y/N took a picture of the tests on her phone in case someone on the team profiled it out of her and she needed receipts, then threw them in the little stall trash can before getting out of the stall, washing her hands, and going back out to the SUVs. JJ and Emily shot her looks as she climbed into the car because she was gone for a while, but they just assumed it was #1 and #2 and didn’t say anything.
She was silent and stared out the window the entire flight back, which didn’t go unnoticed by Spencer, who left his beloved jet couch to plop down across from her at the single seater table. She stopped looking out the window and saw him doing his signature awkward smile, which made a small smile spread across her face before she said, “Hey, Spence. What’s up?”, so he said, “Are you okay, Y/N/N? You’ve been throwing up all week, and I don’t think that’s all that healthy.”
Y/N sighed and said, “I’m fine, Spence. I probably just haven’t been eating as much as my body would like me to, and the bullpen coffee agitated my stomach. I’m totally fine,” then reached across the table and grabbed his hand before saying, “Thank you for worrying, though. I appreciate you a ton. You know that, right?”, making him smile and say, “Yeah, I know. You’re welcome,” before getting up and going back to his couch, Y/N’s smile growing a little wider as she watched him go.
Once the team was back at Quantico, Y/N plopped down at her desk and started doing her paperwork, but Hotch came out of his office and said, “That was a rough case, everyone. The paperwork can wait until tomorrow, call it a night for now,” so Y/N shrugged and grabbed her bag off the floor and headed to the elevator, holding it open for everyone as the team piled in while expressing their relief at the early night.
Flash forward to the weekend, and Y/N is hanging out with Y/S/N (who is the only person who knows she’s pregnant) at their favorite bar in Logan Circle. It was open mic night, and Y/N decided that the best way to get her emotions out was to do a song. There was a piano, and she’d thankfully memorized how to play “She Used to Be Mine” from Waitress when she went on a musical theater kick. So she calmly sipped on a Shirley Temple and talked with her sister while she waited for her name to be called.
After about four people did what they wanted to do, the lady running the show called out, “Up next, Miss Y/N L/N who will be playing the piano and singing a song for us!”, so Y/N stood up and walked onto the stage before sitting down at the piano and adjusting the mic. She said, “This song is called ‘She Used to Be Mine’ from Waitress,” before playing the interlude and starting to sing:
“It's not simple to say
That most days I don't recognize me
That these shoes and this apron
That place and its patrons
Have taken more than I gave them
It's not easy to know
I'm not anything like I used be, although it's true
I was never attention's sweet center
I still remember that girl”
What Y/N didn’t know is that the team get-together Penelope organized she declined attending to hang out with Y/S/N was taking place at that exact bar, and they were at a booth right near the stage watching her performance. Penelope had instantly grabbed Derek’s arm in worry when Y/N had announced the title of the song, and when questioned about it, she said, “That’s probably the saddest song in the whole musical! In the show, the main character Jenna’s abusive husband takes all the money she’d been saving for the baby she didn’t want to have, and she sings this song because she feels like she’s lost complete control of her life and doesn’t know who she is anymore,” making everyone exchange looks before looking back at the stage to watch Y/N perform:
“She's imperfect, but she tries
She is good, but she lies
She is hard on herself
She is broken and won't ask for help
She is messy, but she's kind
She is lonely most of the time
She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie
She is gone, but she used to be mine”
Y/N kept singing, and as she did, she felt just like Jenna did in the musical: critical of herself for allowing a person like her ex to keep her locked in their relationship for way longer than she should have, and scared because she was going to be a mother, and no way was she allowing her scumbag ex to be a part of her son or daughter’s life.
“It's not what I asked for
Sometimes life just slips in through a back door
And carves out a person and makes you believe it's all true
And now I've got you
And you're not what I asked for
If I'm honest, I know I would give it all back
For a chance to start over and rewrite an ending or two”
Spencer could hardly believe what he was hearing. If he had an inkling that she might be pregnant before, this all but confirmed his mind that she was, but she’d have given anything to not be, which broke his heart a little. He took another sip of club soda (designated driver), and kept watching Y/N as she sang her heart out:
“For that girl that I knew
Who’d be reckless, just enough
Who gets hurt, but who learns how to toughen up
When she's bruised and gets used by a man who can't love
And then she'll get stuck
And be scared of the life that's inside her
Growing stronger each day 'til it finally reminds her
To fight just a little, to bring back the fire in her eyes
That's been gone, but used to be mine
Used to be mine”
JJ let out a tiny gasp at the “man who can’t love” line, and she whispered, “I knew she was covering bruises up. Why didn’t she tell us?”, but nobody had an answer for her. As Y/N sang the last part, all of her emotions came crashing down on her, and she barely made it through without bursting into tears:
“She is messy, but she’s kind
She is lonely most of the time
She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie
She is gone, but she used to be mine”
Y/N was met with a standing ovation, and when she stood up to take a bow, her blood went cold when she saw the team sitting at their booth with heartbroken looks on their faces. She pretended she didn’t notice, then went to sit down with Y/S/N again, doing her best to avoid making eye contact with any of them, especially Spencer.
Y/S/N noticed the team staring at them, and she said, “Hey, Y/N/N. I think your friends from work want to talk to you,” which made Y/N let out a tiny groan before saying, “Fine,” and getting up to go over to the team’s booth. She put on a fake smile and said, “Hey, guys! I didn’t expect to see you here! How’s your night been?”, but she could tell her attempt at dodging the bullet didn’t work because Penelope was still about three seconds away from crying.
Y/N let out a sigh, then said, “Okay, fine. I can explain everything. I broke up with my awful boyfriend, apparently I’m pregnant with his kid, yes I’m keeping it, and no I am not allowing him to be a part of this baby’s life because he was horrible to me and that wouldn’t change if he had a child,” leaving the entire team speechless.
Emily said, “Why didn’t you tell us? We could have done something to help you!”, so Y/N burst out, “Because I was embarrassed, Em! I was embarrassed that I let it get that far, and I didn’t want anybody to know. The only person I told about any of this is my sister because I’m living with her right now until I can find my own place, because I used to live with my ex,” making a single tear fall down Penelope’s cheek, and Spencer look at her with an emotion in his eyes Y/N had never seen before.
Everyone else shot her looks of both sadness and encouragement, so she nodded before going back over to her sister and saying, “Can we go home now? I think I’m all partied out,” so Y/S/N said, “Yeah, sure! I’ll pay our bill, you can go wait in the car,” making her nod and grab her coat before walking out the door, doing her best to avoid eye contact.
A few hours later, Y/N was hanging out on the couch at the apartment catching up on paperwork after her sister had gone in for a shift at the hospital when her phone started ringing. She picked it up to see that it was Spencer, which confused her because he’s more of a text kind of guy. She answered and said, “Hey, Spence. What’s up?”, so he said, “Hey, Y/N/N. Can I come over?”, which made her say, “Yeah, sure! I’ll text you my sister’s address and apartment number, and I’ll stay close to the door to buzz you in,” before they bid their goodbyes and hung up.
About fifteen minutes later, the buzzer went off, so Y/N got up and pressed the button before saying, “Spencer?”, earning his reply of, “Yeah, it’s me,” so she said, “Come on up. The door’s unlocked,” before letting him into the building. Spencer came in the door, and before Y/N could even say anything, he snatched her into a tight hug and buried his face in her shoulder. Y/N didn’t really know how to react at first, but she accepted the hug and nestled her face into Spencer’s neck.
Spencer said, “I’m so sorry we weren’t there for you,” so Y/N released her grip on him and said, “No, I’m sorry I didn’t let you guys be there for me. I let my pride get in the way, and I definitely paid the price. I promise I won’t hide things from you guys anymore. It helps no one if I’m not honest with you,” which made Spencer smile at her.
Y/N said, “Can I get you anything? Coffee?”, so Spencer said, “Yeah, coffee sounds great,” making Y/N smile before saying, “You take your cream and sugar with a little coffee, right?”, and she heard him let out a slight chuckle as she went into the kitchen. She put on a pot of boiling water, then grabbed out everything she needed to make Spencer a cup of coffee as well as her favorite green tea, because she knew that she’d receive a lecture about drinking coffee while pregnant from her favorite boy genius and she didn’t want to deal.
Y/N got two mugs out of her cupboard, and after she fixed everything up, she brought the mugs into the living room where Spencer was sitting on the couch. They sat and talked about life for a while until Spencer finally said, “So... when did you find out?”, so Y/N said, “When we stopped at that gas station for a pitstop in Madison. I bought three tests, then took them in the bathroom. All three of them were positive, and while it shouldn’t have shocked me, it did,” making Spencer nod in understanding.
He was silent for a little bit, then he said, “Are you sure you’re gonna keep the baby?”, so Y/N took a long sip of tea before saying, “Yes. At the end of the day, this baby is still 50% me, and I want to give them the best life I can when he or she arrives. It may be the byproduct of one of the worst periods of time in my life, but that doesn’t mean I’m not gonna take this little blessing in disguise for granted,” and rubbing her tummy.
Spencer smiled and said, “Henry’s gonna be really excited about having a playmate,” making Y/n say, “I don’t doubt it,” before chuckling slightly. There was a comfortable silence for a moment or two, then Spencer cleared his throat before saying, “This is probably the last thing you want to hear after everything you’ve been through, but... I love you. I think I’ve loved you since May 21, 2009,” making Y/N’s eyes widen before she said, “That’s a week after I joined the team.”
Spencer said, “I know. I know, and I’m sorry for not telling you sooner. If I had, you wouldn’t have ended up with... him, and you wouldn’t be pregnant with his kid, and you wouldn’t have had to suffer at his hand for all that time without any of us realizing it, and...,” but Y/N put her hand over his mouth and said, “Spence, I’m gonna need you to shut up and listen to me for a minute, okay?”, making him nod and say, “Okay,” slightly muffled by her hand.
Y/N removed her hand, then said, “Spencer Reid, if you’ve loved me since May 21, 2009, I have to admit that I’ve loved you since May 22, 2009. The only reason I ever said yes to that... douche nozzle is because I didn’t think there was any chance in hell you’d be into me. Now that I know you have feelings for me, the only thing I’d want to change is instead of my ex being this baby’s father, I’d want it to be the scrawny boy genius I was lucky enough to be desk neighbors with,” making Spencer’s eyes well up with tears.
He scooted closer, and brought a hand up to Y/N’s cheek before whispering, “Can I...? Would it be alright if I kissed you?”, so Y/N whispered back, “Yes,” and Spencer leaned in before gently touching his lips to hers in one of the softest kisses she’d ever been given. Y/N’s hands found their way into Spencer’s hair, and she held him closer while scooting into his lap, making him smile against her lips and wrap his other arm around her waist.
When Y/N pulled her lips away, she rested her forehead against his and said, “When this baby arrives... If I asked you to be their father figure, would you do it?”, so Spencer’s eyes welled up again before he said, “You can ask me right now,” making Y/N smile. She said, “Will you be this child’s father figure?”, and Spencer said, “Absolutely,” before kissing her forehead and pulling her closer to him.
When Y/S/N got home, she stopped in the living room and had to pull out her phone, because Y/N and Spencer were fast asleep on the couch. Y/N was sprawled over Spencer’s chest and her face was nestled in the crook of his neck, and Spencer’s arms were draped loosely over her back to keep her close. Y/S/N took a picture of the adorable scene, then grabbed a blanket from the wicker basket they kept by the couch to drape it over their sleeping forms. As she walked to her room, she whispered, “Sweet dreams, Lovebirds,” a smile on her face as she did.

Two Gods, One Braincell Ch.7 Epilogue: Quest's End
Summary: Start New Game?
----------------------------
Adrien's head thumped onto the desk stacked high with files, forms and other official documents from the Office of Celestial Sorting. "I can't believe they made us fill out our own paperwork," he groaned without looking up.
"What did ya think was gonna happen, god?" Nino dropped another stack of forms next to the ones already present. "Alya thinks one of the council members is hoping you'll incarnate out of sheer boredom. That way you'll be out of her hair for a century or something.
"Coward."
Kagami sat at a desk next to Adrien. She stamped the paper in front of her, signed it and traced her name in magic before setting it on the completed pile -which was much higher than Adrien's- before starting on the next one.
"If she wanted us out of the way she should have petitioned for us to descend as immortals instead of settling for a single mortal lifespan."
"I wouldn't mind incarnating again," Adrien mumbled thoughtfully without lifting his head.
Nino snorted as he took Kagami's finished pile. "Better hurry up, god. Or Kagami will leave you all on your lonesome."
Adrien suddenly sat upright. "A God of Destruction shouldn't be resigned to filing paperwork! It's unnatural!"
Laughing as he made his way to one of the exits, Nino almost stumbled into the bookshelves full of scrolls and tablets.
Pouting, Adrien slumped back in his seat. "Well it is!"
A smile tugged at Kagami's lips and she let it. "We know. That's why it's so funny."
"I could hear Nino's laugh all the way into the outer court," Marinette said by way of announcing herself. "What're you up to?"
"Marinette!" Adrien opened his eyes wide and innocent. "Nino and Kagami are bullying me!"
"Well, you're the one who agreed to bond with her," Marinette pointed out. "It's not like you didn't know what you were getting into."
"Rude," Adrien and Kagami replied in unison.
Marinette merely grinned smugly.
"If you're not going to assist then away with you," Kagami dismissed only half seriously. "You're distracting Adrien."
Adrien coughed, shifting his eyes out of their cat-like state and looking away from Marinette. Pretending he didn't just try to use her weakness to cute things against her.
A knowing look came into Marinette's eyes. "And here I was, coming to tell you about a certain island to the east." She fanned herself with official-looking paperwork.
Adrien's eyes followed the scroll like a cat staring at his prey.
"The mortals there could really use some help." She glanced at the scroll in her hand as though just noticing it. "Oh! And I just so happen to have signed permission by the council to send a Destroyer and a Storm God! What a coincidence!"
Kagami glanced at Adrien who was practically vibrating with excitement.
"But!" Marinette slowly made to put the divine document away. "I can tell when I'm not wanted. Guess I'll have to find some other deities for the-"
In a blur of shadow the scroll was out of Marinette's hand and in Adrien's. Kagami held her paperwork in place with her arms so it wouldn't blow away in the wind of his movement. Even so, scrolls scattered everywhere.
"Thank you so much Marinette we won't forget this see you soon bye now. Mwuah!" Kissing her forehead Adrien rushed out of the Office of Celestial Sorting. Nearly trampling Nino on his way back.
Marinette blinked at his retreating form. "Well... okay?"
Kagami sighed fondly as she stood. "Always jumping first." She gave a bow of her head to Marinette. "We appreciate your consideration." And then hurried to catch up to Adrien. Dragon tail almost knocking over a bookcase as she shifted at the threshold.
"... No, gods. That's okay. I already got someone to do your paperwork. Yes, I know I'm the best."
"They ran off as soon as you gave them the scroll didn't they, goddess?" Nino picked up some of the scattered papers and set them on the desks.
"Ha! Adrien didn't wait for that!" Marinette turned on her heel, away from the door. "Snatched it right outa my hands like... like..."
"A cat?" Nino suggested with a wry grin.
"Exactly!" Marinette snapped her fingers for emphasis.
Nino couldn't help but laugh at her annoyance. "At least you got my god out before he tore the place down... again."
Marinette gave a long-suffering sigh as she plopped dramatically onto a nearby chair. "Oh, what am I to do with such unruly deities?"
"Send them to deal with natural disasters, apparently," Nino deadpanned, eyeing her suspiciously. "I thought Gods of Destruction were supposed to cause disasters?"
"Details!" Marinette waved this away as she attempted to hide her smirk with a fan she just materialized. "Besides, Adrien will figure it out." He always does.
-------------------
It wasn't long before Kagami caught up with Adrien at the celestial bridge. Despite his eagerness to leave the heavenly realm the bridge kept to its own time. "Jumping at the chance for another quest? You never change, Adrien."
Adrien's feline features weren't good at expressing emotion but she saw his amusement nonetheless. "I don't see you slowing down," he replied, barely slowing down.
"Ha! You didn't even let Marinette finish before dashing off!" Kagami accused in fond exasperation, a growl unintentionally coloring her words.
Ears pulling back, Adrien pouted. His kitty-cat eyes far more effective as an actual cat.
"What are you looking at me for? Marinette's the one who's going to give you an earful!" Kagami teased.
"If I do well she won't have anything to complain about," he said, not quite convincingly.
"Do you even know what the intervention is supposed to be?"
Halting suddenly, Adrien shifted out of his animal form. Kagami jerking to a stop as she passed him.
Nose wrinkling in distaste, Adrien unfurled the scroll. "Something about an island? I'm sure..." He blinked at the paper in surprise.
Shifting, Kagami raised an eyebrow as Adrien trailed off. She leaned over his shoulder to see what had him so out of sorts. "...A volcano?"
Adrien jumped at her voice, startled back into action. "No," he scolded the scroll. "No no no." Adrien glanced from the document to Kagami's face and back again. "I don't stop volcanoes from erupting! That is the opposite of what I do!"
"Heh," Kagami chuckled as laughter built in her chest. Growing rapidly, leaking out as small snickers until it escaped in one loud, drawn out laugh. Hand covering her mouth in a vain attempt at stifling it.
Adrien narrowed his eyes at Kagami as she caught her breath. "You think this is funny?"
"Look at it this way," Kagami stared shamelessly into his eyes, lips pulling into a smirk. "You can hardly make things worse."
"Ha-ha," Adrien replied sarcastically.
"It's not so bad," Kagami placed a hand on his chest as she looked up at him, "It is a tropical island, after all."
Cheeks reddening, Adrien bit his lip to keep from smiling. "I'm sure it'll be lovely buried in lava."
Kagami sighed, pulling away and turning from him. "You are lucky Mother approves of you-"
Adrien's arms wrapped around her from behind. "Luck has nothing to do with it," he murmured into her hair.
Leaning into his embrace ever so slightly, Kagami allowed herself a small smile. "Oh?" she asked innocently.
"She knows I'm a great catch for a dragon as impressive as her daughter."
"Interesting," Kagami pondered noncommittally, taking a step forward. Instead of keeping her still Adrien stepped with her. Not removing his arms. "And why is that?"
Squeezing her lightly Adrien listed some of the reasons he thought Tomoe had accepted their bond so easily. "Amazing sword skills, strong ties to the Gods of Creation, highest efficiency record among Gods of Destruction-"
"Exactly!" Kagami turned so she could look him in the eye. "A little volcano is nothing we can't handle!"
"...Heh." Adrien leaned down to place a kiss on Kagami's lips. "Always know what to say," he teased.
Hardly. "Of course!" Kagami looped her arm with Adrien's and pulled him into a stroll. "Don't I always?"
A spark of mischief came into Adrien's eye. "Mm, yes. I especially like your draconian determination."
Kagami shoved him. "Draconian?"
Adrien laughed as he corrected his stumble and began running. Heartbeat accelerating as Kagami gave chase.
"Draconian!?" Kagami demanded, a predatory grin spreading across her face.
Shifting, Adrien leapt out of the way as Kagami's scarlet scales coiled around the space he just vacated. She growled in annoyance and lunged for him again.
Evading her, Adrien's joy filled the sky surrounding the celestial bridge. Kagami thrilled at the chase and in his laughter. She felt like a child, barely a century old. Such was Adrien's presence in her life. And Kagami was determined not to let go.
Their game continued even as they passed into the lower world. Speeding toward a new adventure and all that lay beyond.

☄️🌕 for Envy and 🌑 for Haven?
☄️ - From your OC’s perspective, write a short paragraph about their average day
{ pre-capture }
Envy sighs and looks balefully at the stacks of papers he has piled neatly on both sides of a large mahogany desk.
“As much as I’d like to say my life is wildly interesting, or that I spend my days in endless debauchery like my brother Lust, it’s more boring than that.”
He casts a glance out the window, looking down upon the outbuildings that border his property.
“Maintaining a territory requires a lot of work. I wake up, dress, am served breakfast and tea, then have my chief advisor go through a list of tasks for the day. I deal with complaints, requisitions for money, land, or permissions, and also a great deal of paperwork.”
He sighs again, carding his fingers through his hair.
“I have to keep at the top of my game if I want to thwart any attempts my brothers make at stealing what is mine, and devote my energy to taking what is theirs.”
His eyes glow with a fierce light, a contrast to the previous boredom. It fades quick enough, and Envy waves his hand in a non-committal gesture.
“I will say that parties and social events are part of that, which I partake in frequently to retain my reputation and make connections. And I do enjoy a few good glasses of wine in the evening.”
--
🌕 - Describe what your OC would wear to a costume party
Pre-capture? Probably a magician, if he was going to a party in the human realm. He’d get a kick of doing little cantrips and seeing the look of amazement on people’s faces. Otherwise, anything that would draw in a low of attention as well as being dashing and suave. He is was very vain.
--
🌑 - Hint at your OC’s darkest secret
Haven eyes the various dark magic artifacts littered around the room, including a few dried animal skulls. There’s spellbooks piled high on almost every surface, some ancient, some not.
“Darkest secret, huh?” she tilts her head, a tiny smile lighting up her face. “You probably think it has something to do with my magic, don’t you?”
“Don’t be embarrassed. Most people do, actually, with all the misinformation about dark magic that’s out there. Don’t even get me started on what the normals think.”
Haven shakes her head in exasperation, then shrugs with one shoulder. “Well, who’s to say whether it has to do with my magic or not? Maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t.”
There’s a distinct impression she’s teasing, and enjoying it immensely.

Alright! Since that doughnuts with dads blurb and now that requests are officially open! Cory and Luke! Like maybe you’re busy so Luke has to take Lily to Cory and Cory ends up inviting him to stay to get to know him or whatever. And like they take Lily out to dinner and everyone is admiring the “gay” couple with their daughter. Hilarity ensues, especially when the story is later recapped to you.
You felt awful that you had to stay late at work on Friday, the day you and Luke normally drop Lily off at Cory’s so she can spend the weekend with him. But there was a lot of paperwork that had to be sorted through and you couldn’t step away. Luke assured you that he has no problem dropping Lily off and he promises he’ll wait up for you until you get home.
When Luke arrives at Cory’s place he’s already outside filling his bird feeder with some seed, Lily loves looking at the birds outside the window. He waves to Luke as he gets out and grabs Lily and all her things. Once she’s safely on the ground she makes a mad dash for Cory who picks her up with the same amount of enthusiasm.
“Hi sweetheart, are you hungry?” he asks kissing her nose.
“Birds hungry, too?” she asks pointing to the feeder.
“Yeah, it’s their dinner time,” Cory nods then turns to Luke. “Y/N working late tonight?”
“Yeah, lots of paperwork to get through,” Luke smiles lightly.
“I was going to take her to Alonzo’s for some pizza, wanna come with?” Cory asks shifting Lily in his arms.
“Pizza sounds great, actually,” Luke nods and chuckles at Lily who claps her hands together.
The three of them pile back into Luke’s car and they talk about normal guy stuff, a basketball game that was so intense. They haven’t hung out that often together, and if they did you were usually present to tide the awkwardness over.
Once at the restaurant a high school girl brings them to a table and a high chair for Lily. they order her the mini pizza with a cup of chocolate milk and they share a large pizza with all the fixings.
They’re having a great time and Lily is eating her pizza quietly, pizza sauce smearing all over her cheeks and even on the tip of her nose when an elderly woman comes up.
“I just wanted to say how sweet your little girl is,” she smiles at Luke and Cory.
“Thank you,” Luke smiles then hands Lily her cup of milk. She sips heartily through the straw.
“It’s nice seeing two dads with a precious little girl. She looks like you,” she points to Cory, “did you do a surrogacy?”
Luke splutters on his soda and Cory lets out a loud laugh.
“No ma’am. I’m her father but he’s dating her mother. She’s working late so it’s just us,” Cory explains politely but his lips are quivering from laughing.
“Oh! I’m so sorry! I thought--I’m sorry!” the woman is exasperated and clearly embarrassed. She doesn’t say anything else and walks away.
Other people around the restaurant are smiling fondly at them while they finish the meal, Luke and Cory are joking about how they look like a couple until it’s time to go.
“You have to tell me how Y/N handles this when you tell her,” Cory laughs once they’re back at his house.
“Oh I will. She’s gonna get a kick out of it. Still can’t believe they thought we were a couple.”
“And your nails aren’t even painted!” Cory jokes and they start laughing again. “Well, she does have two dads so it’s not the worst assumption.”
“True. I’ll see you on Sunday,” Luke smiles then kisses Lily’s cheek. “See you Sunday, my sweet.”
“Bye dada! Love you!” She waves at him while he walks back to his car.
Later that night, at around midnight when you come home, Luke explains the story of what happened at the restaurant while he rubs your feet from being in heels all day. You keel over in laughter, tears in your eyes wishing you could have experienced that moment.
