Agreed. I think he definitely had to develop some strength for survival (fighting his dad and bullies at school would see to it that he did) and on top of that, he was probably carrying around more books than he needed (our favorite workaholic)

Then doing chores at home without magic would also help him maintain strength, especially more physically straining tasks like sweeping (especially carpet 😭) or helping his dad do things you normally wouldn’t ask a small child to do
