if i could see the future if i was a prophet a seer a medium an angel but a bad one, if i was someone who only knew which numbers wouldn't win the lottery, and also if i could code, the first thing i would do would be to create a way to allow machine language to work on the psychic field, plead with god for an api to give me a way to manipulate my access to it on a computer, he will eventually say yes because he wants to see what im going to do, he's curious, he doesn't like to admit it but he's always curious, and then i would use that api to write a software that detects the songs about to be played on radio stations around the world, runs an algorithm connected to my heart that detects which song amongst all of the ones about to be played that i want most to hear or that i am meant to hear for kismet reasons, and then a little robot hand would tune my beautiful SONY dream machine alarm clock from 2008 that i love so much to the station where that song is about to play right as it plays. and also as part of the deal god would ask me what else i need from him and id say an antenna as long as the distance between the moon and the earth. just to be safe. in case the song i want to hear most is being played by beautiful aliens serenading me from the moon, although they dont know it, theyve never met me, they just have this strange feeling, this unusual feeling that theyre about to fall in love

The Africanized bee, also known as the Africanized honey bee or colloquially as the "killer bee," is a hybrid of the western honey bee (Apis mellifera). This hybrid was created by crossbreeding the East African lowland honey bee (A. m. scutellata) with various European honey bee subspecies, such as the Italian honey bee (A. m. ligustica). But not all parties are fun, and this one comes with a hefty dose of risk: data breaches, psychological harm, and even physical danger.

Let’s dig into why your Bluetooth-enabled intimacy gadget might be your most vulnerable possession — and not in the way you think.

The lure of remote-controlled intimacy gadgets isn’t hard to understand. Whether you’re in a long-distance relationship or just like the convenience, these devices have taken the market by storm.

According to a 2023 study commissioned by the U.K.’s Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology (DSIT), these toys are some of the most vulnerable consumer IoT products.

And while a vibrating smart egg or a remotely controlled chastity belt might sound futuristic, the risks involved are decidedly dystopian.

Forbes’ Davey Winder flagged the issue four years ago when hackers locked users into a chastity device, demanding a ransom to unlock it.

Fast forward to now, and the warnings are louder than ever. Researchers led by Dr. Mark Cote found multiple vulnerabilities in these devices, primarily those relying on Bluetooth connectivity.

Alarmingly, many of these connections lack encryption, leaving the door wide open for malicious third parties.

If you’re picturing some low-stakes prank involving vibrating gadgets going haywire, think again. The risks are far graver.

According to the DSIT report, hackers could potentially inflict physical harm by overheating a device or locking it indefinitely. Meanwhile, the psychological harm could stem from sensitive data — yes, that kind of data — being exposed or exploited.

A TechCrunch exposé revealed that a security researcher breached a chastity device’s database containing over 10,000 users’ information. That was back in June, and the manufacturer still hasn’t addressed the issue.

In another incident, users of the CellMate connected chastity belt reported hackers demanding $750 in bitcoin to unlock devices. Fortunately, one man who spoke to Vice hadn’t been wearing his when the attack happened. Small mercies, right?

These aren’t isolated events. Standard Innovation Corp., the maker of the We-Vibe toy, settled for $3.75 million in 2017 after it was discovered the device was collecting intimate data without user consent.

A sex toy with a camera was hacked the same year, granting outsiders access to its live feed.

And let’s not forget: IoT toys are multiplying faster than anyone can track, with websites like Internet of Dongs monitoring the surge.

If the thought of a connected chastity belt being hacked makes you uneasy, consider this: sex toys are just a small piece of the IoT puzzle.

There are an estimated 17 billion connected devices worldwide, ranging from light bulbs to fitness trackers — and, oddly, smart egg crates.

Yet, as Microsoft’s 2022 Digital Defense Report points out, IoT security is lagging far behind its software and hardware counterparts.

Hackers are opportunistic. If there’s a way in, they’ll find it. Case in point: a casino lost sensitive customer data after bad actors accessed its network through smart sensors in a fish tank.

If a fish tank isn’t safe, why would we expect a vibrating gadget to be?

Here’s where the frustration kicks in: these vulnerabilities are preventable.

The DSIT report notes that many devices rely on unencrypted Bluetooth connections or insecure APIs for remote control functionality.

Fixing these flaws is well within the reach of manufacturers, yet companies routinely fail to prioritize security.

Even basic transparency around data collection would be a step in the right direction. Users deserve to know what’s being collected, why, and how it’s protected. But history suggests the industry is reluctant to step up.

After all, if companies like Standard Innovation can get away with quietly siphoning off user data, why would smaller players bother to invest in robust security?

So, what’s a smart-toy enthusiast to do? First, ask yourself: do you really need your device to be connected to an app?

If the answer is no, then maybe it’s best to go old school. If remote connectivity is a must, take some precautions.

Keep software updated: Ensure both the device firmware and your phone’s app are running the latest versions. Updates often include critical security patches.

Use secure passwords: Avoid default settings and choose strong, unique passwords for apps controlling your devices.

Limit app permissions: Only grant the app the bare minimum of permissions needed for functionality.

Vet the manufacturer: Research whether the company has a history of addressing security flaws. If they’ve been caught slacking before, it’s a red flag.

The conversation around sex toy hacking isn’t just about awkward headlines — it’s about how we navigate a world increasingly dependent on connected technology. As devices creep further into every corner of our lives, from the bedroom to the kitchen, the stakes for privacy and security continue to rise.

Fang lately is curious about something , which is the new ......Um- colleague/element that have been frequently come out from Boboiboy's watch .

The element of light , Solar or Cahaya depends how they are called by the elements holder .

He can understand if the new element can be aggressive/curious to the others because they just come out . 

But this element ? Just distance themselves to the others include all the element siblings once they're out the watch, which show the big different reaction compare to the others that was come out from the watch for the first time .

At first ,this youngest element doesn't want to talk with anyone, Boboiboy manage to befriend them to be more social to the others, no jokes on this element call themselves as the most intelligent person in the galaxy . They basically live over thousand years and have the knowledge that lost over many centuries which help TAPOPS system have a big update from those rare information and technology.   

To be honest.

He didn't have really have a fully good or bad impression towards them.     

Are they a good person ?

Yes.

Are they strong and a good teammate on the battle field ?

Yes ! 

But are they easy to get along ?

NO!!!!

This element might be more open up towards to others but this person is being a smart ass and jerk to everyone except Oboi  ! ( But they are more softer to the girls which is not a bad thing)  

This "who know how old are they " Old-thing ! Have been getting his nerve lately !

Flashback :

" Hmmm- Fang ?" " Yes ? " " How come you are the captain when you're so childish ?" "......EXCUSE ME ????" " Yeah childish . You're a popularity complex , a petty person and have a huge obsession toward carrot donut . Just like a kid ~ ." " Well , compare to your age to mine of course I'm a kid to you !" This element enjoy watching Fang in misery , Boboiboy and Tanah have tried to tell them to pipe down a bit . 

But it didn't WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!💢💢💢💢

So now Fang not only have to deal with the headache form the mission , also trying to keep himself clam whenever the element starts picking on him . 

The worse part is sometime the element point out the mistake that he made and starts to correct him with the right solution which it really helps but still insult him at the end ,making Fang who want to thanks them earlier end up having a fight .

This element is not serious like Petir.

This element is not carefree like Angin.

This element is not nice like Tanah .

This element is not forthright like Api .

This element is not clam like Air.

This element is not playful like Daun .

The words that Fang only can label THIS element with is mean , jerk and SAMRT ASS !

"God please give me more patience "  is what Fang keep telling himself for not snap at them.

 But to the bright side they can be ......consider as " Cute " sometime, but that does not change the label he give them !

This element is a curious cat and surprisingly very clingily towards to their siblings.

The element might didn't notice that they are becoming more comfortable around the others and starts to showing the" Inner child " inside them .

Boboiboy have once told Fang that all the elements become more active and happy when they feel safe as they starts to be a little childish to heal their trauma .

For Cahaya's case was they'll starts beaming and getting excited toward the new planet and species then starts to make tons of research books about them which are all written with a neat handwriting (to Fang's surprise ) and being more comfortable to have physical contact with their siblings instead of staying away form them and flinches whenever got touch .

Or mumbling about some random facts that no one couldn't catch what they are saying   

Which is a good thing to know they are recovering .

But sometime Fang can't help but think among the seven ,the light element is the one who got hurt the most by their past . It's strange to have that thought but sometime Fang watch the element form far distance, who are all alone at the library watching their own hands as they got lost in thoughts with a misery look as if they recall something . 

With some unknow reason it make Fang feel sad to see them like that.

Is it because they having that expression with his friend's face or just pity them even he didn't know anything about their past ?

Fang can't really give himself the right answers.

What is happening ? Why are the villagers pointing the weapon to them? And call Solar a monster ?

2 days ago the station receive a SOS signal coming form an unknow planet . They get a mission to justify if the source of signal is true . 

They arrive to a forest that where's the signal comes from and located an isolated village that have been attack by evil aliens . The one who send the SOS signal is the youngsters who are still remain in the village while the adults are all capture away.

This village's only electro device is a very old communicator that is barely functionable , the childrens are all afraid the outsiders ,only few of them have the guts to talk with the group . They told them they are taught that never trust someone who comes form the outside but they break the rules for a hope that someone can save their elders and parents .       

Yesterday , They located the evil aliens base .

Today , is the time to save the villagers .

Boboiboy have summon Duri first to ambush the base as the other invacuate the hostages . Later Boboiboy summon Solar and Halilintar join fight with the boss that was armed with armors that held the old chief as a hostage . Solar use their Solar beam to destroy the armors ,  Halilintar and Yaya give them a final blow as Solar leaps and catch the chief who get thrown to the air .

Instead of hearing thank you , the chief trying to struggle out the light element arms with horrors in their eyes as they cry out loud with those words : 

" PLEASE ! PLEASE ! PLEASE ! DON'T KILL MY CHILDRENS !!!"

" DON'T TAKE AWAY MY HOME AGAIN !!"

Solar look horrified after what they heard from the chief's mouth .

The others looks confuse and the other elements look shocked.

Later the chief pass out in Solar's arms .

That's what happened 3 hour ago before they return to the village patching up the wounded villagers .

And Fang who is patrolling around the village witness the villagers pointing their spears to Solar.

" ARE YOU GOING TO DESTROY OUR LAND JUST LIKE HOW YOU DID HUNDREDS YEARS AGO ?!"

" EVEN YOU CHANGE YOUR LOOK , WE STILL RECOGNISE THAT POWER THAT YOU ONCE WIPE OUT OUR HOMELAND ! "

" DON'T EVEN TRY TO GET NEAR OUR CHIEF !!!"

" Please , I just want to talk with-"

" TALK ABOUT WHAT ? "

" ABOUT HOW YOU KILL OUR ANCESTORS ?"

"......."

"I'm so sorry ."

Whatever happening there, Fang can tell Solar felt very guilty . It grew bigger as the villagers keep shout at them .

It was first time Fang saw Solar didn't yell or snap back to those harsh words , as if what they said are true, Solar have no rights to say anything .

" Listen, I just want to inform your chief something really important to them-"

" AS IF WE WILL BELIVE YOU !!!!"

One of the villager throw the spear to Solar , Solar didn't dodge as the spear torn away part of their clothes . 

" Please I mean no harm and there's something that your chief need to-"

" LEAVE !! "

More spears are throw to Solar , they still didn't dodge , letting the spears thrown at them .

" Alright , that's enough ."

Shadows hands emerge between villagers and Solar , and garb all the flying spears before it hit Solar.

Both villagers and Solar are surprise to saw Fang appear between the groups .

" Sorry for interrupt your conversation but I couldn't stand watching my teammate got attack ."

" Stand down. Kid-"

" Blah blah blah- I'm trying help here !"

" So you're the monster's-"

" Take that back and quit being so stubborn ! All of you are adults and yet you guys attack my teammate without a reason ?"

" HE start it-"

" Alright ? Tell me ! "

" Tell Me the full detail how they start it ! "

" Tell me the reason you guys acting so aggressive towards them ! "

" Tell me what kind of motive they have that made you guys need to wield your weapons !"   

" Anyone ?"

No one dare to answer .

Fang keep raise his voice to those villagers leaving Solar are speechless behind him.

" Kid , I'm fine so stand -"

" Oh hell no !"

Fang snaps at Solar.

" I been standing beside and watch this chaos happened !"

" You have something need to be done ? Do it ! "

" Why are you being so chicken coward now ?"

" Excuse-"

" Yeah excuse me ! You're the one who teach me take the most effective way to get the job done !"

" If you have something that important need to tell the chief by yourself , why get stalled by all this nonsense ! "

" And you guys ."  

Fang turn back to the villagers .

" Tell me now , did your chief send you guys here ?"

" ......No ."

One of the villager said that as they step backward .

" Then WHY are you guys here ?"

" WE want revenge-"

" On what ?"

" ON WHAT HAVE HE DONE."

" Base on ?"

" The story that the elders pass down -" 

" THIS PERSON LITERALLY SAVE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY , AND NOW YOU GUYS DARE TO ATTACK THEM BASE ON A STORY ?!?!? ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS ?!?! "

Fang is pissed when he hear this reason .

"  LISTEN HERE I'M NOT NICE LIKE BOBOIBOY , SO LET ME BE STRAIGHT ! STAY AWAY AND DON'T YOU GUYS HARASS MY TEAMMATE AGAIN.  DID I MADE IT CLEAR ???"

" Yes , Sir ."

The villagers starts to clam down and get more meek as Fang keep yelling them . 

" Now tell me where are your chief !"

All of them point to the same direction to a house far away from them  .

" Now lets go Solar ."

" YOU-"

" If you want to say something , safe it later . We will talk on the way ."

Fang walks away as Solar follow him .

Fang and Solar are on the way to the house and Solar is mad at what Fang done earlier .

" This is something between me and the villagers ! You being a outsider have no right to-"

" Actually I do have the rights ! "

Fang stops his track to face Solar as he lay out his fingers .

" First of all , I'm your captain-"

" NO you're-"

" AND second ! YOU are in my team and Oboi's friend ! "

" AND Third ! Whatever you like it or not . I'M NOT LETTING YOU GET HARASS BECUASE OF SOME NONSENSE !  "

" I don't have a hobby to watch someone having hard time , I like the way you being out smart and annoy them instead of what happened just now ! "

Fang shove his three fingers Infront Solar's eyes . Which make Solar back off a little . 

" .......So you're not gonna ask ?"

" Ask what ?"

" Why are they calling me monster-"

" I don't care ."

" Ha ?"

" I don't care what kind of history you have back there , I have no interest to explore it. "

" Every element include you have some past that you guys didn't want to bring up and that's fine. "

" Boboiboy is your holder now and my priority is to take care of my team which includes you. "

" You are free to do whatever you want but that doesn't mean that you can let someone got to your nerves which somehow endangering yourself ."

" Pufffffff- as if I will dead if I take that blow-

" But that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt ."

" Solar, I admit that I'm not smarter than you or have the power that can swipe away our enemies in a second . "

Fang ruff Solar's hair in reflex like how he do the same to Boboiboy and the other elements. But forgotten the fact that Solar didn't let anyone touch them before except their holder and siblings .Which make element stunned for the sudden touch they receive ,Fang realize that and back off apologizing .

" Solar are you- Wait wait wait ! Don't shoot me !"

Solar end up chasing Fang all the way to the chief's house.

Earlier when both of them arrived to the house. The chief lock them outside and beg them to leave, it took Solar many horrible attempt to convince him to open the door eventually making it worse. Fang couldn't stand watching any longer and help Solar.

It took a while the chief willing to open the door and let them in . Fang thought he will need step out the conversation but the way that Solar communicate making the conversation go weird that Fang feel uncomfortable .

" So.....your the survivor of that planet ."

" Yes and what can I help you ? ."

" That planet have been destroy almost over 100 years and it was completely drained ."

"......"

" You're going to destroy this planet too , right ?

" No !-"

" I'm the last one who once live on that land , my brothers and sisters who escape along me are all gone . "

" We start a new life on this new planet and isolate ourselves to the outside world . Afraid that the monster that blast our home will come to find us again ."

" We decided to destroy anything that the outside could find us , so no electro device was used. But only left one as the last thing that is made on that planet . "

" What we fear eventually come ." 

" I should destroy the all communicator in the past . I shouldn't hope that the we can finally be in peace ."

" I- I'm- "

"......So-"

" I'm sorry , I have to say something here Sir ."

Fang can't take it any longer .

" First, I'll need to correct you about something-  We're here base on a mission to help you guys not destroying ."

Later Solar have told him the all detail of that planet and told the chief that they can request TAPOPS to take them to the planet . 

The chief didn't believe it first but after when Solar show him the photos about that recovered planet. The chief break down to a mess after seeing the planet that he didn't dare to imagine to go back again is still alive .

Solar and Fang left the house as the chief keep shedding happy tears , he promises that he will find a way to introduce this homeland to the childrens and will not forget what they have given back to him .

The duo now are on the way back to the group , it was quiet during the walk before Solar speak up .

The EctoMoog "Vanilla" Experience

Updated for 1.21.5

Back for 2025! with some big changes and additions with the newest iteration of my "Vanilla" experience. These are the mods and resource packs that I use when I want clean, Vanilla gameplay👇

Below I'll go through the mods, shaders and resource packs that I use, by category, highlighting the most important ones. The jury is out on whether all of these are truly vanilla in spirit, but I'll leave that up to you.

Mods

If you're a Modrinth user, you can find almost all of these mods (bar BetterF3, Cupboard, Vanilla tweaks and the hacks) in my collection, but each resource I mention will have a link so you can find it.

Note: Mods that are marked with an ❌ aren't updated to 1.21.5 yet, but once they are I will reinstall them, so I thought they'd be worth including.

Mod Loader - Fabric

To start with - I'm a tried and true Fabric loyalist- all of these mods are for Fabric, and I have no idea if you can get them for Forge. I have two mods to support Fabric:

Fabric API - API for Fabric

Fabric Language Kotlin - This allows Fabric mods to use the Kotlin programming language (at this moment, only Zoomify (see below) requires this)

Cosmetic

These are the most exciting ones, the mods that change the look of the game.

AppleSkin - This adds extra UI details around food, like saturation visualisers, regen visualisers and tooltips for food items.

BetterF3 - This mod improves the F3 menu, allowing you to customise it extensively, colour-coding and organising modules.

Chat Heads - This adds player head icons in chat, which is fun.

Continuity - This allows for and includes a datapack that adds connected textures.

Distant Horizons - This is probably the coolest mod on this list. Distant Horizons "adds simplified terrain past Minecraft's default view distance to improve performance and allow for longer draw distances." This means you can increase your render distance wayyyy more with way less impact on your machine. It's compatible with a lot of shaders, and it just looks amazing.

Lamb Dynamic Lights - One of many mods that re-add Optifine features, this mod adds dynamic lighting for items and entities that didn't already emit light. Essential for caving!

Iris Shaders - This is an essential, classic open-source shader mod that's more customisable than Optifine. See the shaders I use below.

MiniHUD - Adds a small customisable heads up display in the corner of the screen- I like to have my cardinal direction, fps and coords for quick reference. Love this mod.

OrthoCamera - Adds a third person view with an orthographic perspective to the game. I use this ALL the time when planning big builds, and it makes for some really cool screenshots.

Shulker Box Tooltip - This allows you to see the contents of your Shulker Box through a tooltip in your inventory.

Visuality - This mod adds plenty of vanilla feeling particles to the game.

Zoomify - This is my favourite zoom mod, it zooms really far and its pretty customisable.

Experience

These are the mods that make the gameplay experience just a little bit nicer.

Ambient Sounds - This adds extra ambience to the world, like bird sounds, the wind, the ocean, night sounds- it's subtle, but is genuinely incredibly immersive.

Debugify - This mod fixes over 70 bugs listed in the Minecraft bug tracker.

FastQuit - This allows the you to quit your world instantly, while it saves in the background. A nice time saver.

Mod Menu - This is an extremely useful mod that adds a menu to see and configure mods while in-game.

Sound Physics Remastered - This mod provides realistic sound attenuation, reverberation, and absorption through blocks. This includes echoing in caves which is very fun.

Performance

These mods improve the horrible performance of the base game. I'm not a programmer so I really can't explain them, but they work pretty well for me. I think.

Sodium - This is your basic optimisation mod. If you only use one of these mods, use this one.

Reese's Sodium Options - This adds a better video settings menu to customise Sodium options.

Better Beds - This fixes bed rendering performance by removing the block entity renderer and replaces it with the default Minecraft model entity renderer.

Bobby - This allows the game to render pre-loaded chunks beyond server render distance cap.

Dynamic FPS - This allows FPS to drop as low as you'd like when the game is running in the background.

Entity Culling - This incorporates smarter entity culling.

FerriteCore - This reduces memory usage.

Hold That Chunk - This incorporates smarter chunk loading by loading and unloading chunks by distance from the player, rather than by chunk unload packets from the server, which can be inefficient on high traffic servers.

ImmediatelyFast - This incorporates better rendering.

Krypton - Optimises the networking stack.

Lithium - This is a general optimiser.

❌ ModernFix - Improves performance and fixes bugs.

More Culling - Improves culling all round.

Noisium - This speeds up world generation.

Particle Rain - This improves the look of weather with updated particle effects.

hello! you are probably thinking of either Scratchapixel (the tutorial I was following), specifically their article on rasterisation, but maybe also my Building My Own Rasteriser series, which is the slightly more detailed notes I wrote while following along their guide some years back.

Scratchapixel is a fantastic resource, I highly recommend it. And a simple rasteriser is also a great way to learn what's going on under the hood in graphics programming, it's a great project to do, good luck to your friend!

Vulkan tutorial - in case you want to move beyond toy software rasterisers and use an actual hardware graphics API, but you don't want to just abstract it away using a library, this is where to learn how to drive Vulkan.

Physically Based Rendering: From Theory to Implementation - the definitive textbook on how to write a raytracer, available free online. A lot of the theory (microfacets etc.) will also be extremely relevant for surface shaders in a rasteriser.

Inigo Quilez's website: Inigo Quilez is the cofounder of Shadertoy, and probably the world expert on raymarching signed distance fields. There's a huge amount to explore in there if you're interested in that kind of technique and all sorts of other weird graphics tricks.

A list of frame breakdowns/graphics studies, another one - I remember finding another site with these but I can't find it right now. In any case, games usually use quite complex deferred rendering techniques, with multiple render passes combined in various ways. One of the best ways to learn about this is to use a tool like RenderDoc to break down all the draw calls in the frame, and see exactly what it does. So have a look through those pages to learn a bit how games are rendered!

game art tricks - I actually just found this one while writing this post but it's good! primarily visual effects focused, lots of very ingenious approaches to rendering things cheaply.

The Routes, Places, and Maps features are expanded and improved by the 17 new and improved APIs that Amazon Location Service announced today, giving developers a more unified and efficient experience. These improvements increase the accessibility and utility of Amazon Location Service for a variety of applications by bringing new capabilities and providing a smooth migration process.

Advanced route optimization, GPS tracing, toll cost calculations, a range of map styles with static and dynamic rendering options, proximity-based search, predictive recommendations, and rich, detailed information on points of interest are all now available.

At Amazon, user feedback informs the great majority of its roadmaps. When working with location-based data, several customers developing applications with Amazon Location Service have expressed that they require more specific information, like contact details and business hours, as well as specially designed APIs. Developers have indicated a desire for further features, like comprehensive route planning, proximity-based searches, more place details, and static map graphics, even if the present API set has given many users useful tools. The operation of enhanced location service

It is simple to call the API. You have three options: the basic REST API, one of AWS SDKs, or the AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI). However, some further preparation is needed to display the data on a map in a web or mobile application. Despite having extensive documentation, the method is too intricate to go into detail here.

There are two methods for authenticating API requests with Amazon Location Service: using API keys or AWS API authentication (AWS Sigv4 authentication). For developers of mobile applications, API keys may be more practical in situations where end users are not verified or when integrating with Amazon Cognito is not practical. For front-end apps, this is the suggested authentication technique.

You utilize a combination of the AWS CLI, cURL, and a graphical REST API client to show the flexibility of the APIs and how simple it is to integrate them inside your apps.

“Cmon!” Bubblegum said as she stretched the hose. “Come... ON!” The hose snapped as she stretched it too far, wrecking the rest of it. She held the broken item in her hand, her hopes of fixing it gone, dashed to the winds.

She threw it away in a fit of anger. “Grob, DAMMIT!!!” She then thrusted the butt of her flamer into the ground, stabbing the Earth over and over again in a tantrum.

“MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOOOTHERRR!!!” She then paused upon her last strike. Some tears began to slowly trickle out of her eyes. She was holding them back, but the thought she couldn’t fix a simple hose had gotten under skin.

She then leaned back into the tree she sat under with her palms in her eyes. She sighed deeply, trying not to sob over this mess. She wiped away her tears and got herself mostly under control as she looked around the forest, she was in.

It was an oxbow lake she was on specifically, a sort of moated island the river naturally made then mostly left.

But she also knew their scientific names, ones given to them in the Ancient languages of the Latins and Greeks, those pioneers of Science & Culture that she admired and whose traditions she continued in a way to honor them.

The Magna Apis. Stella Cornu Gloria. Ursa Mino- wait what?

“Hi!” Said the Bear Boy with a cheerful smile.

“AAAAAAAA!” Screamed the Princess as if she was some sort of victim in a horror movie.

“AAAAAAAA!” Shrieked the boy like a girl.

The two screamed and they harmonized, killing much of the tension in the air. Then their harmonized screaming slowly pittered out, the two staring at eachother for several moments, as if time had stopped just so they could do so, only the sound of running water keeping them company.

The two gazed upon one another, they saw each other as strangers, yet they both felt like they have somehow met before.

A butterfly landed on the bear boys head, which snapped the Princess back to reality.

“You snuck on me there! Hehehe.” She chuckled with a mild blush, realizing it was rude to stare, thinking about how silly it was.

“Yeah, uh, s-sorry about that! Sneakin ain’t my usual style.” Said Finn as he kept a respectful distance.

“How long were you there for? WERE YOU SPYING ON ME?!” She demanded.

“Wah?! NO! NO NO NO! Well, not on purpose! See I was walkin through the woods and I kinda spotted you sittin under this tree and you started fiddlin with that thing-a-ma-jig-thingy and you sorta... started crying and stuff, so I came outta hiding to see if you needed some consolin and junk.”

“That’s what spying is ya dingus!!!” She said in anger. “That’s twisted creepy! ACHOO!”

“Bless you.” Said Finn.

“Danke.” Said Bonnie.

“Well, I wasn’t doin it on purpose and... um... I’m sorry.” Finn said with sincerity. “Do you... need help?”

Bonniebel’s anger subsided slowly, she remembered it was a public space, one that she technically owned, but he had a right to be out here like anyone else. She had no right to be angry with him spying on her.

“...Y-you... got a hose or something on ya?” She asked, trying to be polite, not expecting him to have anything on him she could use.

“Uh...” He flipped his backpack open, emptying out its contents. It was mostly junk, food, drinks, a pencil, a toy slingshot.

“Hey, lemme see that slingshot!” She said. The boy passing the item to her. Then she noticed it was a rubber band and not a tube. “Ugh, no, that won’t work. I need a tube hose.” She then tossed it back to the kid. “Thanks anyways.”

“Hmmm... why not, make a tube from something, like clay or dough?” Finn offered the pink lady.

Bubblegum felt a tinge of anger from the suggestion, she brushed her hair out of her face, ready to give the kid a piece of ehr mind. “A tube from claydough? Really? That s...” Then she paused and realized she was made of gum, which was like claydough. “Actually... gimme that pencil, will ya!”

Finn gave her the writing utensil. She took it and then ripped off a piece of her hair, with which she began to roll into a ball, then wrapped it onto the pencil, and kept rolling it until it was an even shape.

She spent a minute working it until it was satisfactory. She then pulled the pencil out, giving it back to the kid and then attached the new tube to her flamer, taking another moment to shape it just right.

Then she stood up, lifted the flamer, lit the flame, and gently squeezed the trigger. Out poured a great blast of fire into the air. “OOO-HO-HO-HO YEEE-HEHEHESSSS!” Said the Princess like she was a giddy pyrophiliac. Which she was not, mostly, that was Flame Princess, probably.

“SHAMAZOZOW!!! THAT IS AWESOME!!!” Finn cheered with his fist up in the air. “You invented a flamethrower?! That is so cool!”

Bubblegum felt a tinge of pride within her, which she tempered with humble honesty. “Heh, well, invented in a strong and inaccurate term. All I did was just build off of the concept and replicated previous designs for my purposes. But I did design this one myself. I actually have better ones back at my place, including a handheld one I use for cookin!”

“A handheld flamethrower?!” Finn asked rhetorically. “That is so cool! Or hot! Spicy hot! Spice!”

“Heh! Spice!” She said back to him, liking the term.

“Spicy spice flamethrowers are so spice!” Said Finn with enthusiasm.

“Yes! So. Very. Spice!” Bubblegum said with emphasis, followed by a cascade of cathartic laughter, something in which Finn joined along with her as if she told a profoundly deep joke.

Bubblegum then kept on laughing for a while longer, slowing down as fell on her butt, relaxing a bit. Whatever tension was between the two, it was gone, almost like it was never there and she was in the company of an old friend.

“So, feelin better?” Finn asked the lady.

“Yeah, actually, I do feel better! In fact... I can’t say when I last laughed like that! Thanks kid!”

“No problemo! If you need any help, I’m your Man!” He said with a gentle seriousness.

“Heh, I’ll keep that in mind, I actually need some help from time to time. So, what brings you out to the taffy forest?”

“Oh, I’m on my way to the Candy Kingdom for the first time, as a birthday present for myself! I just turned 12! I’m gonna go see the Princess!”

“PFFT! Hahaha!” The Princess laughed, almost like he was being absurd. “You wanna see the Princess?! What for?” She asked, wondering if the kid had something particularly important to ask her. Probably for a toy or cake or something.

“Well, I heard a lot of stuff about her havin probs, like big probs! Big problems she can’t solve and how they’re makin her grumpy n stuff over it all, cuz she can’t get any time to herself! So I thought I would come and help so she can do stuff she wants to do and live her! Cuz Princesses got rights to have fun and junk too!” He explained in a rather quick and long winded, almost deadpan manner.

Bubblegum stared at him waiting if the child had anything else to say. “Th-thats why you wanna see the Princess?” She asked, almost not believing him. “Just so you can ask to help her? And that’s your birthday wish?”

“Well I wanted to check out some other stuff. Never been to the Candy Kingdom, or any city for that matter. My brother Jake is easin me into things about life and all that song & dance.”

He sounded childish, as the bear boy should, he was 12, but he also sounded completely sincere as opposed to not really meaning what he says or understanding what he means.

“So you... just... wanna help the Princess with her problems to take the time off for herself in exchange for... what?” She wanted to know what he wanted in return, or if he actually thought any of it through.

“Nothin! Just wanna have fun doin quests for her so she can have a good time and stop bein a grumpy butt or whatever! Not to mention I get to help all kinds of other peeps while doin it!”

“Huh...” She huffed in surprise, a bit of her cynicism subsiding. “Why help m-... her specifically and not somebody else like somebody out in the town?”

“Why? Why not! I mean... u-um...” Finn pondered the question, trying to think of it longer term reasons besides just doing it. “Well, shes the Princess, so shes got the job of lookin after everybody. So, if I help her, I can help lots of folks all at once!!!”

“And... you just trust her to know what she's doing and stuff? You would just do it for her?”

“Heck yeah I would!” He threw his hands up into the air. “Cuz that’s what guys like me do! She’s the Princess so she probably knows what to do when it needs doin!”

Bubblegum stared at him, he had such a light and energy that sort of made her own sour dour fade, like a shadow by the sun. She liked his enthusiasm and wished more people had it.

“...What are you anyways?” She asked.

He gasped. “I...” He stood up onto his feet and in front of her and pulled out a golden sword from his backpack, raising it up into the air. “-am an Adventurer! And I wanna be a Hero!!! Just like Billy!”

“Like Billy?” She asked, giving a soft giggle. He was a kid with a petty dream, probably playing more than actually meaning it. “Well, you got a long way to go. I mean you aren’t exactly hero shaped right now. More life... friend shaped!”

“Well, yeah, I guess I am.” Finn agreed, looking upon himself. “Gotta start somehow, yknow?!”

“Yeah, I like your attitude.” She agreed as she stood up, towering above the boy. “You’ll grow tall.”

The two starred at one another, gentle soft smiles were on their faces, a gentle breeze blowing as the sun casts its warming rays upon them. It was almost as if time had stopped for a while.

“But don’t forget to enjoy your childhood.” She warned, breaking the silence, snapping back to reality. “You only get to have one for so long. Some people don’t even get to really have one.”

“YEAH! Cuz bein a kid, is... well it’s... Blabbabloopy!!!” He declared.

Bubblegum felt a sting of reality, a longing for something she saw everywhere, every day, something right in front of her right there and now but could never have for herself. Her duty to the burden of leadership and sacrificing for the good of others demanded that she could never even try to have a childhood of her own. Far too many people were relying on her.

People like the boy in front of her. She had to protect them all. This sweet innocence of the boy, who did not know her name, yet was eager to be her friend and help her however he could. As if they were never strangers to begin with.

One day the boy who thirsts for adventure would be gone, replaced by an adult, maybe like herself. But for now, she needed to protect him from anythig that would hurt him, even his own foolishness.

She smiled at him, one that came easily. “Well, maybe when you grow taller you’ll appreciate it even more! Heh... blabbabloopy! Hehehe... What’s your name anyways, kid?” She asked.

“My name? I didn’t tell you?!” He asked in confusion.

“Nope!” She answered, sucking on her cheek. “Guess ya forgot!”

“Oh, sorry, It’s Finn! Nice to meet ya!” He said with a toothy smile.

“Finn? Finn... Finn Finn Finn!” She said. “I like that name! It has an elegance to it!”

“Whelp, it’s been a blast lady! Be seein ya!” Finn waved as he turned to wander.

“Wait, where are you going?!” She said in shock, having not given her name yet, she was actually a bit offended. He must have forgotten his manners, or that she didn’t give him her name yet.

“The Candy Kingdom!” He said. “I’m off to see Princess Bubblegum, like I said! See ya later!”

She gave the boy a glare. “What makes you think you haven’t already met her, Finn?” Said Bonniebel with a tinge of anger, honied with a tone of teasing.

“Huh?” Finn looked back at the girl. “What do you mean?”

“Kinda obvi, ain’t it?” She asked. Was this kid actually dense or did he not know how to spot a Princess when he saw one? Especially one as famous as she was.

“...Um... ar-... are you her!?” Finn guessed, unsure if that was what she meant.

“Yup!” She confirmed, planting her hand on her hips, striking a pose of triumph. “I am Princess Bonniebel Bubblegum of the Candy Kingdom! It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance!” She then gave a formal curtsy.

“No way!” Finn said.

“Yes way! I am happy to fulfill your birthday wish.” She began with a happiness in her voice, like it was coming out of her chest. “As I am su-”

“Nah-nah, I mean, no way!” Finn interrupted. “You can’t be the Princess!”

Bonnie stared at the kid and gaffed at him with a huff. “Uh... yeah, I am! I am obviously the Princess!” She retorted, thinking the Bear Boy creature really was dense. Maybe he needed his ears cleaned?

“Nah, you can’t be, why would a Princess be out here in the middle of the woods. Plus you don’t have a crown! Princesses need crowns to let everybody know they’re Princesses! It’s the rules and stuff!” He threw his hands up into the air as he approached the girl.

“Uh, first of all, I can be out here if I want, these are my woods!” She said with a hint of righteous arrogance, like a teacher lecturing a student. “Second of none, I DO have a crown! It’s on my head, as you can clearly see! I mean, it’s more like a Tiara, but it totes counts!” She pointed to her head, bowing a little to show it off.

Finn stared at Bonnie’s head for a moment, scanning it. “...I don’t see nothin.” He shrugged.

“Are you blind?!” She asked in frustration. “Or color blind and it’s blending in or something?!” She then placed he hand upon her head. “It’s right... there...”

The Princess then waved her hand around her head, then rubbed her hands directly upon it, only to discover the shocking horror. “Oh FFFFFUUUUUUU-” She began, only remembering just now that a child was present. “-uuuu-dge. Fudge.” She censored. “Fudge, FUDGE! FUDGE FUDGE FUDGE ME ALL THE WAY TO CHURCH!!!”

“I like fudge!” Finn commented, partly trying to diffuse her anger by being silly, but also stating a fact.

“I LOST MY CROWN!!!” She yelled, almost panicking as she searched around the area. “OH GLOB! I-I need to retrace my steps! Oh Grob it better not fallen intot he river!”

“Whoa calm down, Princess! It’s just a piece of jewelry!” Finn said, trying to calm her down. “Nothin you can’t replace!”

“MY CROWN IS A SYMBOL OF MY AUTHORITY! One that you clearly demonstrated that I needed!” She spat. “Besides, the crown itself isn’t all that important, the Gem is! I NEED that Gem! More than anything else! It’s crucial to the lands safety.”

“Oh zip! I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to downplay it!” Finn said with remorse, feeling an icy chill of regret. “What does it look like!? I’ll help find it!”

She huffed and then sighed. She did need his help right now in finding it and this was her fault for losing it to begin with. No need to take out her anger on him for something he didn’t mean to do.

“Okay, thanks kid, I appreciate it! Now it looks... like... what’s he’s wearing right now.” Her face grew into one of fear as she pointed behind Finn.

“Wuh?” Finn looked behind himself and saw a pink guy on the top of the waterfall wearing a red gown, a fashionably cute Tiara meant for girls, sporting a most mighty and righteous beard.

“Hey good lookin!” Said the Ice King with a grin most crazy wicked. “Watchya got cookin?”
