Can someone who is in the know explain to me why DJs insist on blasting their mixes out loud at home while they're mixing them when headphones exist? Is it something with the speaker quality or what?

I've not decided yet what Crutchie's condition is in this AU, but he's an ambulatory wheelchair user (so his namesake crutches are still in the picture).

Kath's working on getting a stairlift installed for him, and whilst he can get up the stairs on his own (even if it's tricky), it's just as likely to hear him shouting "ONWARD MY VALIANT STEED!" as someone carries him upstairs.

And once he's in the recording studio he's a BEAST on the turntable. He's loud and energetic introducing tracks and talking to callers (he loves talking with the callers). If he gets a request for a song he doesn't have on hand, he'll go out of his way to go get it because no way will he leave a music request unfulfilled.
