Dormammu, I've Come To Bargain
A prompt based on this scene from the 2016 film Doctor Strange. The powerful entity Dormammu, who by all means should be able to defeat the Doctor due to its strength, is trapped in a time loop by him. He will not stop resetting time until he gets Dormammu to listen to him, ergo keeping a much stronger being prisoner in one moment in time. He knows he cannot defeat Dormammu, but he can keep him busy, unstuck in time in order to spare the rest of humanity from its wrath. The doctor dies many times in the loop, restarting it each one to achieve his goal of keeping Dormammu stuck.
As such, this prompt refers to any setting in which a character dies within the context of a time loop.

Oh no! What do I do about boop loops? If I boop and then they boop back, do I boop again? Is it rude to not boop? Is it weird to boop a second time? And what about a third, fourth, or hundredth boop?!

Dormammu, I Want My Fucking Life Back
Ned: How old is your mom now, Peter? Thirty?
MJ: No way! After fighting that space demon he has to be at least, what, one hundred years old! Right?
Peter: ...
Also Peter: I gotta make a call.

@shieldretired isn’t actually wrong...           "that’s how people get killed in horror movies, you know?" (For Stephen)

“Most people in horror movies aren’t us. It’ll be fine,” he said, knowing exactly the kind of horror movie fodder they were absolutely dealing with. “Probably.”

FAQ:
What must be included in the content of a filled prompt? Stephen Strange (any version of him: film, TV, or comics) must be either the main or co-main character. Otherwise, anything goes!
What must be included in the tags of Tumblr and Twitter posts? Please use the hashtag #strangehalloween2023 and the # of the prompt you're filling (i.e. #no6 and/or #witch). On Tumblr, please include additional tags for NSFW and common triggers (see AO3 for examples).
When can I post my prompt fill? In the spirit of the theme, these should be posted in October! We'd prefer if you post prompts the day of or after the day has passed. For example, prompt 10 fills can be posted on or after Oct 10, and preferably not before.
What medium can I use? Anything! Written prose, poetry, gifsets, mood boards, artwork, all is acceptable as a prompt fill. It's all about Stephen Strange in any form he comes in.
Can I combine Strange Tales of Halloween prompts into one submission (i.e. #1 "What was that? Is somebody there?" and #6 witch)? Sure! If you post it on social media, you can use both prompt tags to help us identify it as such.
There are two prompts per day. Do I have to do both? You can use the sentence prompts, the words prompt, or do a mix of them!
Can I use this prompt list with other prompt lists/bingo cards? Absolutely! Combine it with any other event you'd like to use it with.
Are there any limits to how many prompts I can use/have to use? Nope! Participate with one piece or 31 pieces! Do as much as you'd like--we'll love to see it!
Any other questions? Send an ask to @a-strange-server and we'll get back to you soon. We can't wait to start seeing what you come up with come October!

Kismet AU x Problem Children AU: Of course they become more reckless. With Midoriya around, it's practically save scumming, Revival Jam, or "Dormammu, I've come to bargain" on demand.
I know I already posted the "Haha I died again!" picture but it feels relevant here

A Prompt Explained Masterlist
Welcome to a prompt explained! :) While some of the prompt are easy to understand based on the wording or quote, some of the prompts were originally created for the challenge these past three years. That means they're created together with a few sentences to trigger inspiration for the writers! They where only ever meant as a guideline. So, for the sake of allowing others to understand the prompts, I'll be explaining the most important once :)

Stephen vs. Dormammu is the final exam for the theme of surrender vs. control. "Dormammu, I've come to bargain!" is easily the most famous part of this movie. It's amazing. I don't have to tell you it's amazing. You know.
This is something that only Dr. Strange could have done. Because he is a surgeon. He has the perspective to recognize Kaecilius as merely a symptom, and to go straight to the cancer.
But this is also something that only the Ancient One or a well-understanding prodigy could have done. Dormammu cannot be fought. He cannot be controlled. He is a force beyond all of us, and must be engaged with as such.
But just as Dormammu is a force beyond us which cannot be controlled, so too are there forces beyond Dormammu which cannot be controlled. Stephen binds them both with the power of time and surrenders to the loop, living out the existential nightmare and forcing Dormammu to face his own limitations and adapt.
Aww, look at that. He's paying the Ancient One's wisdom forward. What a nice guy.
Absolutely brilliant, both as a final boss "fight" and as the culmination of the hero's journey.

WELCOME TO THE AVENGERS AWARD SHOW
intro post here
"The award for Best One Liner—wait, wait, let me just make sure you get my good side for my acceptance—goes it, OH [BEEP, BEEP, BEEP]. Are you [BEEP, BEEP, BEEP] serious right now? The award for Best One Liner goes to Doctor Stephen Strange for 'Dormammu, I've come to bargain' and his ability to be so persistently annoying, he saved the Earth from being absorbed by an interdimensional dark demon."
Tumblr media
"We're also here tonight to present Stephen with the award for Hottest Tentacle Porn, Best Playlists—it's like I'm not even here—and Best Variant of Himself. In a multiverse of unlimited possibilities, we could have been stuck with a possessive, psychopathic murder, or worse, a Stephen with a ponytail. Fortunately for this universe, we get this Stephen. And I, for one, believe we are all the better that. He is brilliant, resilient, clever, ruthless, and powerful. Just don't grow your hair out too much, or we'll have to lump you in with the rest of the Stephens. The fate of the multiverse and our willingness to tolerate you rests in your beautiful hands."
Tumblr media
Stephen doesn’t quite know how to react. He’s caught off guard, bombarded with the oddest mix of compliments and insults he’s ever encountered. Honestly, he should be offended and throw a verbal attack Stark’s way and be done with it all.
Tumblr media
But…there is a certain flutter in his stomach that he can’t ignore.
Okay. Fine. He’ll see what’s down this path.
A smirk graces his features as he approaches the smartly dressed man, and accepts the award. Ah, but not without a kiss to Stark’s cheek. His gaze is pinned to the other’s expression as he steps back, watching carefully for his reaction.
Tumblr media
“Thank you. I promise to use this glorified paperweight to shove all my fanmail underneath. Along with any letters that might come from Stark Industries. Wouldn’t want my ignored mail pile to fly away because of an open window, would we?”
