For the person who was wondering about Dr Ruth's height compared to Scott Bakula, I found this pic on Getty.

also when you have a film that revolves around an abusive scientist father who experimented on both his sons, ditched them (one in an insane asylum) and then only got one of them to go after the other despite him being a product of his father's actions, of course i'm gonna be emotionally invested. broken, abandoned families fucked over by science and corrupt business and their scientist father who tries to solve his own problem by manipulating one of them and then killing the other just makes me sad and upset and angry at such injustices that left these two brothers to fend for themselves and get such cursed powers due to their father's gross scientific curiosity at his wife and sons and then get them to attack each other because he couldn't deal with the fallout of his actions and pretended to give a shit with ulterior motives. i feel so much at how this shit happens and tears people apart and how the trauma is presented in both brothers. i feel this pain in the very core of my being.

breaks my heart when you understand the traumatic situations and responses of the two brothers. one is completely pissed off and jaded and angry and lashing out (but also calculated) and goes on a fucking murder spree in his quest for revenge to find his brother that was lost to him and the other was just straight up sidelined and abandoned to the point that his traumatic response was being completely unable to develop a sense of self and personality due to a complete lack of socialisation and an inability to control and deal with his psychic abilities and the constant noise inside his head that he had no idea what it was about, as well as survival instincts when living on the streets. easily manipulated, especially since he doesn't have anywhere else to go when Dr Ruth brings him in as well as having an emotionally undeveloped brain so he just trusts this doctor who looks benevolent and supportive in front of him, naturally. Interesting brief look at how people respond to their traumatic situations; the book goes into more detail. I think someone made a good point on how easy it was for both characters to hide and deal with their psychic abilities which is a tremendously good analogy for mental illness and neurodivergence on TV tropes; I need to find it.

This picture with Dr. Ruth has me thinking about Bernadette making a ritual during the run of Follies of hugging Elaine Paige just because it’s rare for BP to be in the company of those smaller than her

“The donation is meant to attract ‘talented and diverse’ students, who otherwise might not have the opportunity to pursue a medical education, the school said in the release. ‘It will enable generations of healthcare leaders who will advance the boundaries of research and care, free from the burden of crushing loan indebtedness.’l
