Application Solution of Forklift Driver Face Recognition and Permission Collector Based on FET3568J-C SoM
Forklift is an indispensable equipment in modern industrial production and logistics transportation, but at the same time, it is also a mechanical equipment with certain risks. If operated improperly or managed poorly, it can easily lead to safety accidents, causing injuries and property losses. Therefore, improving the safety awareness and management level of forklift drivers is of great significance in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of enterprise production and logistics transportation.
In the safety protection and protective devices, it is stated that forklifts must be equipped with a driver authorization information collector. This collector is used to bind the driver's personal identity information with biometric information such as fingerprints, iris, facial features, or magnetic cards. The forklift can only be started after the driver's permission is verified.
The forklift facial recognition driver authorization collector is primarily used for driver permission management. With high-precision cameras and facial recognition algorithms, this system can accurately identify and determine the driver’s identity information. It helps ensure that only authorized individuals can operate the forklift, improving safety and security in the workplace.
Only drivers who have undergone professional training and obtained authorization will have their information entered into the system and be granted permission to operate the forklift. Once the system detects an unauthorized person attempting to operate the forklift, it immediately triggers an alarm and takes measures to prevent the forklift from starting, ensuring the safety of operations.
The forklift facial recognition driver authorization collector has the following notable features:
Facial recognition: By using cameras to capture facial information, it can accurately identify the facial features of drivers in a short period of time with high precision, without the need for manual intervention, greatly improving management efficiency.
Security: The system is designed with high security in mind. It effectively prevents others from impersonating drivers and provides dual protection for forklift operations.
Integration: The system can not only operate independently but also seamlessly integrate with other security devices, access control systems, etc., forming a comprehensive security management system to further enhance safety.
Scalability: The system supports the integration of finger print recognition and card recognition systems, allowing for the expansion of corresponding functions based on specific needs.
The overall solution for the forklift driver authorization collector based on FET3568J-C system on module is as follows:

Tumblr media
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚˚ʚ♡ɞ˚˚ʚ♡ɞ˚˚ʚ♡ɞ˚˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
Choi Seunghyun was a lot of things. He was BigBang's lead dancer, was an active art collector in the industry, and he knew a thing or two about what cuisine to pair certain wine with.
However, Choi Seunghyun was the only member in his band that would struggle to find real love; the kind of love that would make him want to question it all and realize he did not want to hide forever in the shell he'd crafted with his own two hands. People would ship him all the time with his best friend, but the moment he posed with any woman, or filmed something with a woman, the voices around him were sometimes louder than the ones in his own head.
It was exhausting.
Seunghyun did not want to be alone forever, but he was starting to think that maybe he did, and maybe the people around him were right and his standards were too high. The lead dancer would often make jokes and say the best way to find true love is to turn your phone off for a long period of time and ignore them, and he once even said that it would be easier to find a boyfriend because he is around managers all day.
Not all of it were the kind of jokes you'd openly laugh at, though, and he knew that. Somewhere in the deeper part of his soul he knew it was very much not a laughing matter.
The night was still young when Seunghyun and his bandmates finished their final interview of the day. One by one, the men would discreetly leave the backdoor for the building they were just in. Each memeber had a specific routine of what they would do after exiting an interview. Ji-yong would brain rot on Instagram, Daesung call his mother, Taeyang would Facetime his longer term partner, and Seunghyun would light a cigarette.
Tonight was no exception for each of the men and the different sounds were all becoming a little too much for the oldest Hyung as his eyes tightly shut, trying to imagine a world where everyone was quiet.
"Hyung, did you really mean what you said back there? About how you believe the key to a happy relationship is to ignore your partner and turn off your phone for days?"
Daesung.
Seunghyun slowly opened his eyes, making eye contact with the most innocent out of all the men. He wanted to lie, he wanted to tell Daesung that it was suppose to be funny, but both of the men knew Seunghyun would be lying.
He thought about what to say for a moment, bringing the cigarette to his lips, two of his fingers massaging into the paper wrapping and his lips curling at the kick of the menthol, bringing him back to reality as he narrowed his eyes slightly, inhaling deeply.
"I meant it."
All Daesung could do was nod in response, a low hum escaping his vocal cords as he watched the oldest member take another drag of his cigarette. Daesung knew Seunghyun better than the two would ever lead on, and while he knew his Hyung was not lying about meaning it, he also knew that it was something deeper than that; something so deep that he was sure the older man might fall to his knees once it happens.
"Love is beautiful, Hyung. I would hate to see you miss out because you were afraid..." for a moment, Seunghyun thought about Daesung's words, his own hand stopping just before the cigarette touched his lips, and all he could do was nod in response. "I'm okay,"
The younger one opened his mouth to speak, but it was like he could no longer verbalize how he really felt, so all he could do was place his hand on Seunghyun's shoulder. His shoulder was oddly cold from the wind but warm from the jacket he chose to wear that night as a pair of headlights caught both of them off guard. Daesung quickly removed his hand from his Hyung's shoulder, waving to the person behind the driver seat as he made eye contact with the oldest member, silently asking if he needed transportation.
And for the first time that night, Seunghyun smiled, shaking his head in the process as he lifted his cigarette, signaling he wanted to finish that first before he called for anyone. The two men made eye contact once more as Seunghyun watched the last of his band mates leave, leaving him alone finally.
A low, almost sensual sigh escaped the man's lips as he felt the release of finally being alone. He loved his band mates, he loved them more than he loved himself, but he craved being alone like it was a drug and he was the addict. The cigarette he was smoking was fighting for its life at how frequent he was taking puffs. Seunghyun's eyes were looking above him at the moon, admiring, wondering how it would feel to represent Korea in a mission to space.
"Excuse me. Do you... Can you... help me with my lighter? I have bad hands and I think mine is jammed," Seunghyun could have swore his heart left his body when he heard the quiet voice coming from behind him. His whole body shifted, standing straighter than he before as he turned around to face where the noise was coming from, and that was where you stood.
A small, timid smile spread across your tinted lips like you were scared to death to ask for help and Seunghyun loved that. The waves in your hair were delicately tied up behind your ears as you wore a gold decal necklace that came down just enough on your neck that it would clasp around you if he moved his hand just right, and the sweater you were wearing... God, the oversized sweater you had on fit you perfect and was the perfect color of off white to balance with your skin.
The noise he would make next was so quiet that it could startle a mouse, but it was definitely there, as the taller man made his way over to you, the color of his own lighter could be seen in his hand as he made his way over to you, returning the small smile.
"I, uh. I can let you use mine, or I could... help you light it if your hands hurt?"
Seunghyun mentally slapped himself, moving the glasses he was wearing higher on the bridge of his nose as he hated the fact he'd stuttered so hard just then. Your smile widened a little, just enough so your teeth could shine against the moonlight. You masked his nervousness by nodding your head, fairly new to the idea of smoking in general, you handed him the cigarette you wanted lit.
"Thank you. I had an accident when I was younger and in my rebellious teen years so now it hurts sometimes to do really silly things. It hurts to even write for too long, which is kind of a bummer because that's my job... to hand write and translate each interview that happens in the studio. But it's okay because I meet so many cool people. Oh my gosh... Am I rambling? I'm sorry..."
The man in front of you could not help but chuckle at your story, his laugh feeling the same way it did when you'd open your first piece of Halloween candy as a kid as he handed the cigarette back to you, unlit.
"Let me help you instead. I can show you a really easy way to light them so you don't apply too much pressure on your actual hand. Is it both of them or just one?" You smiled again, and Seunghyun swore to whatever religion he could think of, that if you smiled one more time, he'd be on his knees thanking whoever was up there. "It's usually only my right one, but whenever it's cold, they both hurt sometimes,"
Seunghyun nodded, listening to your words carefully as they came out of your mouth. Moving even closer to you, he watched as you brought the cigarette back between your fingers, your hand tremmering slightly; the sleeves to your oversized sweater almost covering your hand all together. You looked way too innocent to be smoking a cigarette, and Seunghyun almost did not want to help you because he loved how innocent you looked in the moonlight, but he also loved the idea of being your knight in shining armor.
You two had not even exchanged names yet and this man already knew the thing made you the most vulnerable to the outside world. He was closer than before and the way his cologne mixed with the menthol from his own cigarette was enough to make any girl, including you, want him close to you all the time.
Seunghyun looked at you carefully, as if he was asking for your consent to touch you and be so close. All you could do was nod when you felt his hands wrap around yours, your hands much smaller than his, as he brought the cigarette to your lips, which you happily parted for him and the flick of the lighter made you jump a little, a soft murmur escaping his lips.
"Relax. I've got you."
And he did.
Your hand still slightly trenmering as you held onto the wrapped paper, bringing it to your lips and inhaling deeply as you let the contents attack your lungs as you exhaled, making sure you politely blew the smoke in the opposite direction of Seunghyun.
"Thank you. That was very nice of you. Do you work here too? I've never seen you before. Unless you just started... that could explain why I've never seen you?" You were rambling again, and Seunghyun could feel his knees bucking at the idea of you having no idea who he was.
"Um... I do not work there. I actually– I actually was in there earlier, and was one of the people being interviewed, so you... you probably had to translate everything my band and I talked about in there. So, like, I'm sorry if we ended up making your hand hurt worse... We were in there for a while..."
Seunghyun was adjusting his glasses again as his eyes continued to rest on you. Even if he'd wanted to, he could not look away from the way your lips would part each time you took a hit of the cigarette. The taller man found himself shifting slightly on his feet, thankful that he was here with you, but also kicking himself in the shin for feeling so goddamn nervous around you.
Silence loomed over you two as you were watching him too. Your free hand not holding the cigarette was covered by the sheer size of the oversized sweater you wearing. It all clicked to you now on who he was the moment he mentioned him and his band being there for a while– you were actually in the process of translating what they talked about before you came outside for a smoke break. It was indeed a long interview, and the comment Seunghyun mentioned about love was like a lightning storm erupting inside of you.
Seunghyun was nervous and you were without a doubt full of anxiety yourself as the two of you stood quietly in each other's presence, neither of introducing yourselves or bothering to make small talk.
"We could... break the ice with a high five?" Seunghyun's comment caught you off guard, and by the time he'd mustered up the courage to speak again, you were just about to hit your cigarette again as you giggled softly, raising a single eyebrow in the process.
"High five? Sounds to me like you just want an excuse to have my hand against yours again..."
Unable to control the redness in his cheeks, the taller man quickly turned his attention from you in the opposite direction, hoping you would not notice as he removed his glasses, feeling a small patch of sweat on his forehead as his sleeve wiped the moisture away. His posture attempted to loosen as he turned back over to face you, a small smirk spreading across his lips as the nervousness still raced through his veins but the shift was definitely noticeable.
"Isn't that a thing? Where women love to see how small their hands are against ours?"
You tossed the cigarette to the ground as the heel of your boot crushed the remaining flame, stepping closer to him as you spoke and your voice dropping in octane.
"Only if the girl thinks the boy is cute,"
"Do you think I'm cute?"
Seunghyun stepped closer now as well, the two of you still not sharing names but instead sharing feelings– raw, unfiltered, and honestly the kind of sexy slow burn you'd only read about feelings.
"You're okay. At least a seven out of ten... maybe an eight if you were a good kisser..."
Either the two of you were flirting or it was the best mind game you'd ever shared with someone as the taller man got even closer to you now, his lips barely touching you as he spoke again, matching the quiet volume.
"Wanna find out?"

✦ content warnings ✦: smut, sexual situations and tension, cheating!, toxic environments, rockstar behavior, drug use, alcohol, mental health themes, angst. erm i think that’s it :/
In which being the lead singer of Boston’s hottest up-and-coming band should be the dream—late-night jam sessions, sold-out gigs, and your name on every indie music blog. But when you’re dating Chris Sturniolo, the effortlessly cool guitarist who never seems to care enough, the dream starts feeling a little less perfect.
Then there’s Matt—the band’s drummer, the quiet perfectionist, the one who always seems to have something to say when it comes to you. You two clash constantly—about setlists, about rehearsals, about the way he watches you when Chris isn’t looking. The tension is undeniable, crackling like static in the studio, in the cramped tour van, on stage when your voices blend just a little too well.
Chris plays it cool, Matt plays it careful, and you? You’re stuck between the song you thought you wanted and the melody you can’t ignore.
Because Matt might be your bandmate, your biggest rival, and your boyfriend’s brother—but he’s also the only one who looks at you like you’re his favorite song. And maybe, just maybe, you’re starting to hear it too.

📚💸 Career + Wealth Analysis 💸📚
Tumblr media
One of the most frequent questions astrologers receive from their clients when doing a chart reading is about their career, profession or work.
The labor we do on an everyday basis is essential when it comes to our finances and self fulfillment. It can either be something we enjoy doing that meets all of our needs, or what brings a paycheck yet lacks inner satisfaction.
There are several ways to confirm if the work you are doing is activating your Venus properly, and you may wonder why that planet in particular? Simple! Venus is related to finances, luxury, and comfort. The jobs that align with our Venus sign tend to be the ones that not only fits into our financial needs, but also provides a genuine feeling of contentment.
Tumblr media
So, if you want the straight forward answer to “What career/field/job/hobby can help me create wealth and feel joyful about it?” Then Venus is your short answer. Remember that wealth will look differently for everyone since we all have different perceptions of how much money is truly enough to have the lifestyle we dream of.
Look for the Sidereal sign that your Venus falls in, find below the careers or fields related to it, and confirm for yourself the difference in your wealth accumulation once you incorporate it into your life.
Note: please keep in mind that if your Venus is conj, square or opposite a malefic planet/s (Mars, Saturn, Rahu/Ketu), there will be some natural resistance or challenges that you will experience throughout life with work, job, profession, or financial matters. Venus in Virgo, Scorpio, and Capricorn to a degree could also experience similar experiences.
The house where this planet is placed also tells a lot about the way your job manifests in your life (places, people, etc). Now, there are many ways to remediate any negative effects, so no need to be concerned or feel doomed.
There are many advanced Vedic Astrologers who mostly focus on remediation of planets that are in difficult or challenged positions, so take a look at the options available if you ever feel like there's an extra difficulty for you in those matters.

What’s your favorite quirk/habit you give the cc cast when you write them?
(Glad you’re back in this mess :D, also yes everything behind gen SHOULD be on fire)
Thank you so much for the ask! :D I'm going to stick to who I've written so far, but that's still quite a few to think about! I hope you enjoy my silly/angsty/cute snippets. :3 Genesis He annotates the crap out of any book he owns. Don't get me wrong, he's got pristine copies of all editions of LOVELESS reserved for viewing only, but he's also got versions exclusively for scribbling notes and interpretations in the margins. In one particular copy, though, the notes start to get choppier, rougher, more...unhinged, as the degradation drags from months into years and his desperation for a cure deepens, particularly after the Nibelheim incident. Angeal This man can take a nap anywhere. Up a tree, in a rock crevice, in a military truck that's careening into every pothole by a careless driver... Angeal is the king of shuteye in unlikely places. It's very handy on rough missions. Sephiroth Likes to exercise his authority as a First to refuse any SOLDIER missions that even vaguely assist Hojo's research out of sheer spite. Genesis is incredibly proud of him. Zack This guy is a chaos cook, and by that I mean he just throws whatever crap he has available into a pan and just vibes. The 'throw anything together' habit he picked up from Angeal, yes, but he missed the 'think about sensible flavour combinations' part. Cloud He's a nervous fidgeter and has a lot of anxious energy that needs to escape. Drumming his fingers, leg bouncing, fiddling with his earring, picking skin, you name it. This behaviour is more prominent in his infantry days, too. Cissnei She's a collector, and by that I mean a collector of small keepsakes and trinkets found on missions around the world. Being raised in a orphanage meant that she barely had any possessions growing up, so she treasured anything that was hers and hers alone. Sometimes it's silly things from gift shops, or interesting rocks, feathers, scales, etc.
(She definitely kept a feather from that Genesis copy in Sector 8, for example.) Lazard You think this bloke only started embezzling money from ShinRa when Genesis defected? Not a chance. A lot of it gets funnelled to his non-ShinRa relatives, but also gets channelled into charitable projects around Midgar supporting people of the slums.

This news is taking a toll on honest New Yorkers.
Outrage mounted in the Big Apple Monday after the revelation the MTA lost $5.1 billion in unpaid tolls and fees over four years – while drivers doing the right thing are forced to pay more.
The massive unpaid collections at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s nine bridges and tunnels surpasses the estimated $500 million to $800 million expected to be generated annually from the new $9 first-in-the-nation congestion toll to enter Midtown Manhattan south of 60th Street.
“They can’t even collect their unpaid tolls,” fumed Harry Nespoli, chairman of the 300,000-member NYC Municipal Labor Council and head of the sanitation workers’ union. “So, they’re going to make it up by socking us with congestion pricing.
“They should collect from the toll violators,” added Nespoli, who has appealed to President Trump to kill congestion pricing. “Right now, the law-abiding working people are paying for them [the deadbeats].”
MTA figures showed deadbeats racked up $5.1 billion in unpaid MTA tolls and violations such as late fees over four years from 2021 to 2024 — a number likely sent skyrocketing since “cashless” systems replaced the old payment booths, though officials sought to downplay the figures saying it’s not just “toll debt” in the wake of a Post report Sunday.
The authority estimated total uncollected “toll violations” at more than $1.4 billion in 2024 alone and $3.7 billion combined from 2021 through 2023, according to a financial chart included in a request for proposals submitted to potential debt collectors.
The proposal said the annual figure for unpaid toll collections could exceed $2 billion when factoring in the $9 congestion toll — a fee that will rise to $12 in 2028 and $15 in 2031.
Benjamin Li, 40, from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, who tows a smoothie cart by Zuccotti Park in the Financial District, said authorities should levy the toll evaders instead of socking him and other hard-working New Yorkers with a new congestion toll.
He now arrives into Manhattan at 4:45 a.m. with his cart to pay a lower $2.25 overnight fee and save $6.75 off the $9 toll charged during the peak hours.
“I obey the law, whatever they charge. But I see so many people trying to save money illegally with ghost plates,” Li said.
Deadbeat drivers racked up $5B in unpaid MTA tolls in 4 years — and closing booths to go ‘cashless’ may be to blame
Long Island truck driver Kenny McCutcheon, 32, was worked up over the news as he was running errands in Manhattan on Monday.
“They need to crack down more on people who don’t pay the tolls, instead of charging the rest of us so much,” said McCutcheon. “I think it’s ridiculous I gotta pay $9 just to come here.”
MTA toll crossings include the Hugh Carey/Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, Queens Midtown Tunnel, Whitestone Bridge, Throgs Neck Bridge, Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, Cross Bay Bridge, Marine Parkway Bridge, Henry Budget Bridge and Robert Kennedy-Triboro Bridge. At six of the major crossings, the toll is $11.19 without E-ZPass and $6.94 with it.
A federal bankruptcy judge told The Post Monday he’s seen cases where debtors reported owing thousands of dollars in unpaid tolls, and questioned whether collections is a priority for the MTA and New York’s political class..
“They’re not skipping one or two tolls. They are abusing the system,” said Kenneth Kirschenbaum, a US Bankruptcy Trustee who hears Chapter 7 Bankruptcy cases in Central Islip, Eastern District.
“That’s not inadvertent. That’s not unintentional. That person doesn’t deserve any pity.”
In one bankruptcy case, one debtor sought forgiveness for owing E-Z Pass New York $9,900, he said. E-ZPass NY covers the MTA crossings as well as tolls on the state Thruway.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman said the listing of billions in unpaid MTA tolls and violations by scofflaws is another just example of a culture of lawlessness in the Empire State.
“This is what happens when you have a state that doesn’t enforce its laws and people feel they can get away with anything due to the incompetence of leadership in Albany and at the MTA,” Blakeman said.
“Taxpayers are left with the burden of having to close the huge deficits with idiotic programs like congestion pricing which based on the MTA’s track record, most people won’t pay either.”
But the MTA downplayed the figures it presented to debt collectors as part of a bidding process, and said the $5 billion in unpaid toll and fee collections was blown out of proportion.
MTA Bridges and Tunnels president Catherine Sheridan called The Post’s reporting of its own numbers “misleading” and claimed it “grossly overstates our toll losses” — but did not dispute the figures.
“There’s just a lack of understanding that the amount we place with a collections agency is not outstanding debt, it’s not tolls,” Sheridan said at an MTA committee meeting Monday.
“It includes tolls and fees and any other penalties that may apply so the number may appear very large but that is not toll debt,” Sheridan said.
But Sheridan admitted that the use of ghost plates to avoid collection is a challenge.
“Ninety two percent of the people pay, whether that’s by E-ZPass or tolls by mail upfront,” she said. “There’s about 8% who are either unbillable, where we don’t know who they are because they have a ghost plate, or they just don’t pay even after we’ve sent them multiple bills.”
MTA officials on Monday also said it collected $113 million of the $241 million in outstanding tolls in 2023 — or less than half.
Officials also said the agency put in 500 requests for the Department of Motor Vehicles to revoke car registration of toll deadbeats, which is allowed under the law.
Transit officials also said they have new authority to impose judgments on toll scofflaws without going to court.

You can request a Mackinac Bridge Authority driver to drive your vehicle over the Mackinac Bridge. There is a $10 charge for the service in addition to the normal fare.
If you are coming up I-75 from the south, pull over to the right just after passing the Jamet Street exit and call 906 643-7600 to request a driver. Coming from the north, just tell the toll collector.

A Perfect World - Logging Prevention
Flagship: YohaRiko Rating: T? Words: 654 AU: A dimension where everything is… perfect… Fandom: Love Live Sunshine Parent Fic: A Perfect World Time Frame: ??? Event: Promptober 2023 Event Source: Idol Fanfic Heaven channel on Discord Prompt: Tree Content Warning: Bloodless battle scene
---------
Author's Note: Primary entry for the 9th
Summary: Yoshiko and Riko prevent some logging
---------
The giant machine clamped its claw around a tree. Several arms then sawed off the branches before a series of saws within the claw severed the bare trunk. Finally, the machine maneuvered the log over to a stack on the bed of a waiting truck.
The logging mech repositioned and began to work on another tree. Rinse and repeat. Over and over. With surprising speed and efficiency. Smaller mechs skittered around below to collect the fallen branches and transport them elsewhere.
Scattered throughout the valley, many other large logging mechs, each accompanied by their own army of branch collectors and transport trucks, were quickly deforesting the area.
From a ridge overlooking the valley, a redhead and a blue-haired woman observed.
“We could simply strand them here.” Riko said.
“Hrm…” Yoshiko pondered.
The original plan had been to take out a gate facility back on their home world to hamper the military’s continued invasion of other dimensions. However, they decided to explore where the portals led to determine their strategic value. Through one, they found a planet stripped clean of resources to power their world’s endless pursuit of Perfection. They learned such baren lands were then used both as staging grounds to invade other dimensions, as well as a buffer of dimensional travel in the event of a counter invasion.
Yoshiko and Riko volunteered to venture further to a world that was under active invasion. There, they found themselves in an area where resources were already being harvested.
Now they had a choice. They could just return to the staging world, destroy the portals, and strand the invading forces in the foreign dimension. Or…
“We still have time.” Yoshiko decided. “Why don’t we have some fun first?”
Riko hesitated but eventually agreed.
The pair made their way down the slope, dodging behind trees to avoid detection. Once in range, Riko sniped the driver so they could take cover behind the truck.
“I’m gonna take the big one.” Yoshiko said.
Riko nodded and pulled out an EMP grenade.
The couple synced a countdown. At the end, Yoshiko moved around the back of the truck while Riko lobbed her grenade towards the machines.
As soon as the pulse stunned the mechs, Yoshiko ran up to the helpless logger and scaled its legs. When she reached the cockpit, she yanked it open. The pilot cursed and fired at her but she laughed as the round was stopped by her armor. She then reached in and grabbed the man by his collar, yanked him out of his seat and let him fall. Finally, she claimed the seat and started to get the device back online.
Shots rang out as Riko picked vulnerable spots on the other machines as they too were coming back up.
Yoshiko yanked a lever, causing the logging mech to swing its claw across several opponents. A moment later, she spotted another logging mech charging toward her. She grabbed a log from the truck and launched it, crushing the cockpit of her opponent.
Suddenly, a large explosion rocked the mech. Another blasted a nearby tree, sending splinters everywhere.
“Yocchan.” Riko’s voice came through her comm. “We need to leave. Local forces are bombing the area. Seems we were closer to the front lines than we thought.”
“Well, it was fun for a few minutes…” Yoshiko clambered out of the cockpit. “Guess we’re going with the ‘strand them here’ strategy after all.”
An air battle raged above as the couple ran back to their portal. Part of Yoshiko wished she could stay and help fight to defend this world, but she knew her skills were best used back home, to prevent the invasions where they started.
As soon as they were through, the portal began to shrink like an iris exposed to light before blinking out of existence.
“Alright.” Chika, the resistance group leader said. “Let’s destroy the rest of the portals here, then get back home.”
---------
Author's Note Continued: I definitely need to come back to this one. I cut and trimmed so much that I originally wanted to include so that I could fit it into the event's 4k character limit.
That said, I still haven't fully decided on any particular special powers the LL girls in this world might possess. I mean, Yohane and Riko obviously have some guerilla combat skills. Rina has some hacking skills. Ai can mimic voices. NicoMaki have been body swapped. Kanata runs a dream shop. Emma... well... uhm... And I have some ideas for some of the other girls. But I'm still definitely figuring out a lot about this world as I go, not all that much unlike my monster theater AU.
And again, another day with all three prompts. Iris was '21 and machine was '22.

FLP CHAPBOOK OF THE DAY: Old Scooter Poetry by Karen Lee
On SALE: https://www.finishinglinepress.com/product/old-scooter-poetry-by-karen-lee/
Old Scooter Poetry is a book dedicated to my husband, Jeff, and his obsession with collecting old Vespa scooters. After experiencing the replacing parts, buying, selling, and repairing old scooters year after year I finally gave in and began to enjoy his hobby. These #poems are about understanding his love for Vespas and the difficulty of parting with them even when they won’t run. #poetry #Vespa #old scooter #collector
Karen Lee is an avid poet, fiction writer, playwright, and graphic artist, and photographer. She resides in Cicero, Indiana but travels the world for fun. This is her first full-length poetry chapbook. Old Scooter Poetry is written as a tribute to her husband Jeff and his constant hoarding of old vespa scooters, parts, and books. She is not an enthusiastic scooter driver but an experience rider.
PRAISE FOR Old Scooter Poetry by Karen Lee
Have you ever ridden on a scooter, wind in your hair, the road laid out before you like a ribbon of gravel, dirt, and concrete? Find that path through the Old Scooter Poetry of Karen Lee, in her unique tribute to the world of scooters and the people who ride them. Lee manages to bring to life the fervor of the scooter rider, personified in the delicate art of maintenance this machine requires. These poems remind us of what freedom on a sunny day might really feel like, if we are traveling that day on a scooter that’s up and running smoothly. Her work is vivid in sounds and scenery, the vroom of an engine and the sputter as it dies, and the beauty of a roadside outlook on an autumn day. Follow her poems as they wind through the life of a scooter, its incarnation as a Vespa, and the riders who love to drive them.
–Mary Sexon, author of Marriage Maps and Driven Destinies, Her Addiction An Empty Place at the Table. Sexon has five Pushcart Prize nominations and a Best of the Net.
Karen Lee‘s chapbook, Old Scooter Poetry, is a delightful collection of poems regarding her husband’s passion for collecting retro scooters to fix and ride. Besides being a sometimes passenger she also becomes inspired by the old scooters. Here she commemorates them in poems of humor and concern which honor and document her husband’s love of his vintage scooters. She even falls a little for the old scooters herself, evident as she writes “Slow drifting by the moonlight/on an old scooter is all/it takes to find/romance.” You will find reason to enjoy the journey with these old scooters as you move through Lee’s poems.
–Lylanne Musselman, author ofIt’s Not Love, Unfortunately and Staring

Yacht-Master Unveiled in 1992, the Yacht-Master is built for maritime adventures. Featuring a waterproof case, unidirectional bezel, and luminous dial, it combines functionality with sophistication.
Understanding Brand-New vs. Pre-Owned Rolex Watches
Just like a car, a Rolex can only be sold as “brand-new” once — by an authorized dealer. The moment the warranty card is filled out, even if the watch has never been worn, it’s classified as pre-owned.
This classification matters: once a Rolex leaves the store, it typically undergoes some degree of depreciation. The exact amount varies depending on the model and materials used. That said, Rolex watches hold their value better than most luxury goods — and often appreciate over time.
Why Choose First Class Timepieces for Rolex
At First Class Timepieces, we are committed to the integrity of the Rolex luxury watch market. All our inventory is in stock and available for immediate delivery, including top models like the Sea-Dweller, Sky-Dweller, and Submariner.

Grocery Run
As much as I advocate for every business to have a significant digital presence, sometimes a strategy of little or none can still work. It flies in the face of modern understanding. It goes against what analysts, professors, authors, all of the above, have to say about things. It is the antithesis of all we know to be true.
Except when it doesn’t necessarily. Like at Trader Joe’s, the wildly successful chain of grocery stores with 608 units in 42 states. Their stores are only 10,000 to 15,000 square feet, compared to the average supermarket with 51,000 square feet. A TJ’s typically has about 4000 SKUs, or stock keeping units, while a big supermarket can have 45,000 or more. Oh, and about 85% of TJ’s products are private label, meaning they are contract manufactured just for them.
But here is where it gets interesting. The chain has very little digital presence. They have a website. They have an excellent podcast, in which they toot their company horn repeatedly. Trader Joe’s does have official Facebook and Instagram accounts, along with others, but they do not use them as drivers. Heck, they even have a small print newspaper they give out at the cashier.
Tumblr media
Unlike other supermarket chains, Trader Joe’s does not have a loyalty program. They do not have online ordering. They do not offer curbside pick-up. And they would never have a self-check lane. The goal is for shoppers to have a unique immersive shopping experience, minus the paralysis of choice that can occur when there are 45,000 items, and with friendly, informed stockers who will not only answer questions, but also drop whatever it is they are doing to walk you across the store to whatever it is you want. More than likely, they will also tell you their review of the product.
They also do not offer or accept coupons, and do not engage in traditional advertising. This is pretty much word-of-mouth. Call it old school, but it works.
So loyal are shoppers that those of us in No Man’s Land four hours from the nearest store will launch Facebook pages campaigning for a store to be brought to their community. They will petition the company, hounding them to please, please, PLEASE open one nearby.
But Trader Joe’s is very picky about where they open up shop, typically in strip centers, sometimes in a freestanding unit, often with shared parking that can become limited. TJ’s stores also tend to be located near its core demographic, which is above-average income and education. I doubt we have enough of that attractive demo in Amarillo. Just for the record, not long ago they turned down Lubbock fans for a store.
Instead, they want people to shop and take their groceries home, like I do every single time I am in Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, or Dallas. I bring a huge Yeti ice chest, and always keep a massive bag filled with TJ’s shopping bags. Heck, I use those bags wherever I shop at home, too.
Better yet, Trader Joe’s has fans clamoring for their seasonal items, especially foods developed for Fall and Christmas. If they can figure out how to include pumpkin in something, they will, and the customers will gobble them up.
Customer affinities run high. We always grab a few of their shopping bags whenever we are on travel, each bag bearing custom art for the state or city. My wife once sold a couple of the Oklahoma Trader Joe’s bags to a woman collector for $98. Yeah. Those bags costs $1 apiece.
So powerful is store loyalty that shoppers have created their own fan accounts on Insta, often showcasing their recipes and reviews of new items. They sell non-perishable items on eBay, such as spices, seasonal cookies, and so forth. It’s almost like Trader Joe’s doesn’t have to do anything except count the money back at headquarters, because their customers are doing all of the heavy lifting for them.
And if you just said that, you would likely be right. Few companies have such a strong almost cult-like following. I sure as heck don’t see shoppers at my nearby Walmart and United acting like that.
Trader Joe’s is owned by Aldi Nord, a German grocery concern. Don’t confuse it with the 2500 Aldi stores in the US, because they are owned by Aldi Sud, yet another German powerhouse. It’s just that many years ago when two brothers inherited the company, a major rift developed and they split it into North and South. The North half bought California-bred Trader Joe’s in 1979. Aldi Sud had started infiltrating the US with its own stores in 1976.
Got all that? There are many people who think that the Aldi and Trade Joe’s stores we have here are all owned by the same company. Nope. Close, but no cigar. So successful is Trader Joe’s anti-digital strategy that it has an industry-leading excess of $2000 sales per square foot, compared to $500 at Walmart, Target, and Kroger. Only Costco can come close to Trader Joe’s in this metric.
But wait, there’s more! They also lead in customer satisfaction, revenue per employee, and have profit margins that are double the norm. Relying on lower-cost private label goods typically brings with it higher margins.
And the customers absolutely love it. While competing Aldi stores are often a near mirror image of TJ’s, with a smaller footprint and few items, it is TJ’s that aims for a more upscale customer base, one that likes to be adventurous in the kitchen. The product mix reflects that ethos.
Sorry, Walmart and United. My next grocery run is happening this Sunday morning, and you’re not getting a penny of it. And whereas I use my Walmart+ heavily, often getting delivery or curbside, I don’t mind having to venture inside TJs. This isn’t just about buying food. No, it’s about buying an experience, one bag at a time.
