Séance #14 -  Télé-travail et nouvelles technologies : quelles conséquences pour les personnes victimes d'illectronisme?

Dans cette ère du tout numérique, dans laquelle le télé-travail a pris une place prépondérante, où les échanges communicationnels sont souvent effectués à travers internet et où les impôts sont désormais numérisés, il semble difficile de concevoir que la population puisse s’intégrer dans une vie sociale et active sans le numérique. Les fractures numériques et les difficultés d’accès à internet apparaissent plus nombreuses que je ne pouvais le penser. En effet, 31% des plus de 60 ans n’utilisent jamais Internet (mails, consultation de sites, utilisation des réseaux sociaux) et 14% de la population française n’a pas du tout accès à internet. Le coût élevé proposé par l’industrie du numérique, le manque de connexions ou d’équipements entraînent des exclusions numériques. Ce sont les seniors et les personnes pauvres qui en pâtissent le plus. Jacqueline Filliat, une retraitée actuellement domiciliée dans une maison de retraite, se dit « lâchée » : « Je me sens incapable, ça me stresse parce que j'ai l'impression d'être lâchée par toute cette technologie. » Devoir scanner des documents pour se rendre à l’hôpital ou ne pas avoir d’autres options que de prendre un rendez-vous par internet, comme c’est le cas avec Doctolib, est un marqueur de fractures numériques. Nos grands-parents ayant évolué sans internet, l’apprentissage de ces récentes technologies sont rendues plus difficiles. Selon moi, nous sommes face à des inégalités sociodémographiques dans l’accès aux médias, pouvant mener à des exclusions sociales. Ces inégalités s’exercent également dans le monde du travail, avec l’apparition du télé-travail. Lorsque l’on sait que l’illectronisme (la difficulté ou l’incapacité à utiliser des outils numériques en raison d’un manque de connaissances) touche 16,5% de la population française, nous pouvons réellement questionner l’impact du télé-travail sur ces personnes. Avec la crise sanitaire du Covid-19, le télé-travail s’est démocratisé, ayant pour certains un impact positif, mais pour d’autres des conséquences interférant sur leur routine de travail. Sophie Caron, une travailleuse sociale de Dubreuilville, ressent cette exclusion numérique: « Souvent, s’ils présentent un document PowerPoint, moi, je ne peux pas le voir, parce que je suis au téléphone. J’ai seulement la partie audio et pas la partie visuelle. »

Selon moi, il est primordial, dans les années à venir, d’entreprendre des démarches pour aider les employés ayant des difficultés d’accès au numérique, que cela soit par rapport à sa compréhension ou à son accès. Autrement, la fracture numérique exclura davantage d’individus et la prédominance de l’exclusion sociale en sera la conséquence.

NORTHERN ONTARIO – The CP Holiday Train is visiting Canadian communities for it’s 20th year and crossing our region, stopping in communities between Chapleau through to Thunder Bay on December 1st and 2nd (see schedules below).

Each event is free, with CP encouraging attendees to open their cupboards and wallets to help address hunger needs in their communities. Local food banks will be accepting donations at each stop to ensure those less fortunate have enough healthy food this holiday season.

There are two trains in Canada

The U.S.-bound train departs Montreal on November 25 travelling south with stops in Quebec, New York and Southern Ontario before continuing it’s journey through the U.S. and into southern Saskatchewan for its final stop in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on Dec. 16.

The Canadian Train departs Montreal on November 27 travelling west through Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia for it’s final show of the 2018 CP Holiday Train tour in Port Coquitlam on December 18.
