still thinking abt this post bc like, while i agree overall and also get why they drew this specific conclusion, i think the idea that characters should be studied in a vacuum completely removed from other characters in the story kind of fails in the opposite way? people are highly social creatures whose self is tremendously influenced by (or even completely in response to) the people around us, and a good story will reflect this. like, you COULD analyze imogen and laudna as characters while completely ignoring their relationship to the other, but then you have removed one of the biggest motivations for most of their choices and development. but also that post is right as this is not actually what a lot of shippers are doing. a lot of shippers are interested near exclusively in the existence of romantic/sexual attraction and slotting characters into the shippy fanfic tags or tropes or memes they like the best, and will actively ignore or even contradict who a character actually is to do so. but i think actually analyzing a dynamic (not just determining if you want them to kiss or not) is a great way to better understand the characters involved and i did not want its good name besmirched like that

#inspired partly by that 'shipping characters with anyone but the characters they canonically have feelings for is disrespectful' post #(and 'delulu' which is a term that should be retroactively eradicated from the internet's vocabulary)#as well as the one that treated the 'dor/ym is underdeveloped' criticism to mean people didn't believe they had feelings for each other #as opposed to being abt how the relationship has gotten so little focus that that love doesn't necessarily feel interesting or earned #the thoroughline being that shipping is exclusively abt the precense of canon (romantic) feelings and not only does nothing else matter #but shipping something else bc you find the dynamics or what the characters bring out in each other more interesting is stupid and bad too #crposting

I think I left this blog for a while mainly because of how overwhelmed I was with Palestinians leaving asks on here and expecting me to give them money.

Guys, I'm not making money off of what I draw. I don't take commissions, I don't know much about how economics work, and I don't know much about captialism in general. #i love living in a miserable awful world #you will see every awful thing going on #you will read about how things are only getting worse #you will be subjected to misery even when you are offline just because that's the world thats been created for us #why go to college? so i can be in constant debt and get rejected from every job?#why get a job? so i can be dehumanized on the daily and forced to work for the rest of my life?#its not like it matters. i will never be able to afford a house nor function like a normal human being #there will be no joy or hope. and what kind of life is that #if it is one at all?#there is no community for me in the real world i can already barely even talk to people on the Internet #i only have online friends #my only skills and talents are those that would be hell to monetize and suck all the fun out #i mean. i cant ever have a family either.#i despise school #all that keeps me going is cowardice and the price tag thats now attached to my life #on the bright side at least i could do it once i earn about 7k #on the other hand i dont want to #i want to keep going #i dont know why anymore #im lazy man i dont have any motivations or passions all i ever want to fucking do is draw and play video games #i dont want a job dont want to go to college cant make friends and cant have a family or happy life so #really whats left for me?

number 4: try to play killer with bad wifi AND while mmr cap is altered so good killer players (me) are primarily playing against good survivors (usually swfs)

#thoughts about media #man I want to play dbd SO BAD.#I've not been able to play since reset because my PC had issues and now the internet is struggling.#I don't care about hitting iri 1. I just want to progress the rift!!!!#and boy does it grate on my nerves to go against players I KNOW I could beat. but lose bc lag.#it keeps stopping me for periods of several seconds.#if you play dbd you know that losing even 3 seconds of time is a fucking disaster.#because that's all it takes. one mistake. and the whole game will go in the other side's turn.#especially if you're the killer. and especially if you're playing against swfs with even mediocre skill level.#like am I glad to have learned that. yes. I am high mmr and therefore good at both hux & ghostface? eeeyes.#I have self confidence issues. Of course the affirmation is nice.#but does learning this in the most blood boiling. skin tearing. teeth gnashing way possible piss me off a bit? also yes.#am I ultimately angry about losing though? no.#my priority is the rift and completing it so I get the exclusives & earn back the currency I used to pay for it.#I'm going to have to grind the bloody rift when this internet issue resolves itself.#it is doable within like. a week. i'd wager. but ugh that is a lot of gameplay nonetheless. to go from tier 35 to tier 83.#ah. the joys of living in the middle of fucking nowhere.
