As someone who often cites combat as my least favorite part of D&D, I am in love with how Titan Takedown plays to the strengths of its players by making combat the star of the show. Like, you have pro wrestlers whose irl jobs are literally to make combat fun and story-driven. Of *course* they're good at it! I love them bringing in their out of game knowledge of very niche things like how the ropes on a ring work or broader things like knowing you can't treat a Baby Face (good guy) wrestler the same way you treat a Heel (bad guy) without getting the wrong kind of energy from the audience.

Speaking of, I don't watch wrestling so I'm not an expert by any means, but I did research on it for a writing project once and I think it's so clever that they turned shine into a game mechanic. In wrestling terminology, "shine" are the moments in the match where the Face gets to look strong and heroic and cool. The opposite is "heat" where the Heel gets to look villainous and powerful. We've seen shine in action and we'll probably see heat as well because, in the latest episode, Xavier reads out an ability that mentions spending shine OR heat. I bet if they decide to turn Heel, they'll earn that negative, heat energy instead of shine. And that's probably what the gods like Zeus are getting with their aggro, intimidating energy.

Anyway, absolutely baller move from the Righteous Wrestlers to handle the crowd and preserve their image by turning the fight into a dance battle. This is turning into one of my fave mini campaigns.

I like watching people in their field doing their thing #also love watching ppl super OUT of their field doing their thing--should out to chelsea for successfully using uncanny dodge #riz would be so proud and so would murph

I’ve always loved the clever detail that the person narrating the 'Previously on Yellowjackets' line at the start of each episode is the actor whose character will have a significant moment in that episode. This pattern holds true throughout Seasons 1 and 2—just pay attention to who introduces the recap at the beginning of each episode and compare it to the episode’s content, and you’ll definitely notice it! Now, it’s continuing into Season 3 as well.

My favorite examples from Season 3: Steven Krueger says it for 3x04 because it’s the Coach Ben trial episode, Sophie Thatcher says it for 3x06 because Natalie mercy kills Coach in this episode, Courtney Eaton for 3x07 because Lottie axes Edwin, Lauren Ambrose for 3x09 because Van dies, and Sophie Thatcher again for 3x10 because of that amazing last scene on top of the mountain.

I just think this is so fun. Throughout this season I would listen to who said it at the beginning and be like ooooh I know you’re gonna have a moment tonight!

#it was so great in Season 1 too because each episode was generally centered around one character in particular #so the Previously on Yellowjackets narration always lined up with that #like 1x02 is Christina Ricci because that's the Misty episode #1x03 is Tawny because that's the Taissa ep #1x04 is Juliette Lewis because that's the Nat ep #and so on #this is how you know the hyperfixation has gotten too strong #yellowjackets #yellowjackets spoilers

Born October 5th, 1921, in Nebraska

Died April 8th, 1988 (age 66), in Martinez, California

Joe Ramirez enlisted in September 1942 (age 20) in San Francisco, CA, and he trained with Easy Company at Toccoa. Holding the rank of Private, he served in Normandy, Holland, and Bastogne. He was hospitalized in January 1945, and discharged in July 1945. After the war, he was married for many years, and had children and grandchildren. When he passed away he was buried with his wife, who had passed away 11 years earlier. Further information about him is scarce, but the brief character profile in the Band of Brothers series bible describes him as Mexican-American, and his personality as "sensitive and nervous."
