then he treats the end of the episode like a podcast and talks to you for like an hour about why the characters did what they did, and what you guys think is gonna happen next. 

kind of sweet cuz he would act uninterested at first and then become the most invested.

Things I’ve learned about Danny Phantom after finally watching it as a person who avoided watching it for months and read fanfiction instead. 👍🏻✨

They call themselves the Phandom. (Super cute, I love it, 10/10)

Everything, and I mean Absolutely Everything I’ve learned, is a fucking Lie. (Not fun. I have to rewrite my entire understanding. I feel betrayed. Offended. Gobsmacked. My flabbers are mf gasted. -5/10)

The show is actually really funny. (I enjoyed my experience. 9/10)

Fuck Phantom Planet. (What the fuck was that shit? Um, rewind, redo, no thx, give me back the ghostie boy please. I genuinely didn’t even finish the episode, I got to where he un-died and had to turn it off. I refuse to watch it now. 0/10)

The Phandom was right to steal canon and make it our bitch. (Trans Danny? More Dani/Ellie screen time? Actual plot and lore for the show? Actual in-depth thought to ghosts and their culture? Um, yes please. 1000/10)

Frostbite actually is a doctor. (I don’t know why, but I thought it was another thing the Phandom made up. Love to see it, 10/10)

Wes Weston deserves his own episode. (What do you mean he doesn’t actually exist. What do you mean I don’t get my LGBTQ+ undertones. This is homophobic /j. -10/10)

How do you tell when a ghost is intangible, invisible, or both?? (The show doesn’t have a differentiator between the two, so I’m always confused if people can just see him floating through walls. 3/10)

Guys in White literally do nothing but be annoying. (Another case of the Phandom Lying to us. I love it though, they make really good antagonists. 7/10)

The Fentons are stupid and mildly aggressive, but they do love their kids. (I read a lot of vivisection, child neglect, and general Bad Parents fics so excuse me on that front. 8/10)

Danny didn’t actually beat Pariah Dark? (I love the Ghost King Danny fics, so to find out all he did was shove him into a sarcophagus was a bit of a bummer. He struggles more with Undergrowth than the actual king, like?? 6/10)

He can reach inside himself to take things out. (He ate a spoon in one ep and just reached inside himself to take it out. Pretty cool. 9/10)

Is he actually dead? (Phantom Planet makes it seem as if he just got a bit too high a dose of ectoplasm in his system and it fucked him up, how else could he have just undone the damage? But, most of the Phandom says he legit died in the portal, in which case he could not have gone in and just un-killed himself like he did in Phantom Planet. I think he died, personally. More trauma and angst for my writing. ??/10)

Clockwork appears a lot less than I thought he would. So does Frostbite. (I thought with how much they appear in the Phandom, they must have really important and constant roles, but no. They appear very rarely. Sad face. 5/10)

Vlad sucks. (Vlad fucking sucks. 0/10)

Dani/Ellie is much younger in appearance than I thought. (I looked her up for reference when I first started reading the fics, but she looked 14-15. She actually looks 6-7 years old in show. They literally call her a kid. 8/10)

Dani is what she chose to be called, not a funny joke the Phandom played on itself. (I though it was a silly little haha moment. Nope. The show just… named her that. I think Ellie is the Phandoms choice in calling her?? 8/10)

Why is Danny obsessed with Paulina even while crushing on Sam? (He is actively blushing and flirting with Sam and then they’ll turn around and he’s jumping at the chance to talk to Paulina?? Hate it. 0/10)

Danny and Dash don’t actually date. (I saw this circle around the Phandom a bit, thought it was cute if a bit weird, and then it didn’t happen? 6/10)

No obsessions, no cores, no real reason for the ghosts to be terrorizing Amity Park. (I legit thought it was real in-verse stuff, I’m so disappointed in the lack of it in the show. It could have been so good. 3/10)

Danny doesn’t actually become friends with his ghosts. (They don’t really get along, ever. They don’t talk outside of fighting, except for those who actually like him. Missed opportunity. 4/10)

His Space obsession is actually just a few mentions of him wanting to be an astronaut? (I thought he genuinely had an obsession with the stars and we’d see a lot of him stargazing or word-vomiting about his hyper fixation, but no. Sad. 4/10)

He does go stargazing (maybe?) and flies around when he’s not fighting. (We see him going off as Phantom in the episode where Jazz finds out about him. There are no battles and he looks like he’s having fun flying around. 10/10)

He was called Inviso-Bill?? (Hilarious, I love it, why did no one ever tell me this. 7/10)

He says “Going Ghost!” every time he transforms. Every fucking time. (It’s annoying, it’s ugly, I hate it. I am so glad no fics mentioned this or used it, I think I’d go insane. -1000/10)

Rewatch Thoughts: Rogue

I wish the ep started with 15 and Ruby showing up and seeing everyone dancing and being excited, kinda like Donna and 10 Unicorn and the Wasp vibes, rather than them already being in there idk

The fact Ruby sees Susan Twist yet again and doesn’t mention it to the Doctor at any point. They had other shit going on tbf nvm

‘Faster mover’ lmao. I like the Doctor’s vibe when he says that. Like he’s actually a bit shook by the fast moving. It’s more Doctor-y than the overt flirting in the rest of the ep.

Why would Rogue think that the Doctor was a Chulder when he’s been speaking like he’s from the future or whatever. If he WAS a Chulder don’t you think he would be playing pretend as a person from 1813. Not talking about the fuckin stars

On first watch it was literally right as Ruby told Emily that she was from the future that I realised Emily was one of them

Ruby not actually getting got is cool but like that scene literally shows the lightning and we hear her screaming but then in the flashback to what actually happened neither of those things happen so them putting it in the initial scene feels like a shit/lazy way of trying to hide the fact it was gonna be revealed that she was pretending all along when they coulda made it so that we the audience know she’s fine bc we don’t see the telltale Chulder bodyswap signs but the Doctor thinks she’s dead. Very strange imo

That scene with Carla feels so out of place and tbh random bc like. This is the second time Ruby has almost died in an ep so surely we shoulda seen that flashback the FIRST time it happened not now

Other than the non-Doctor-y flirting I think this is the most Doctor-y 15 has felt to me

Did Rogue really have to replace Ruby? He literally just shoved her off? Surely he coulda just stood at the side of the triangle and pulled her out of it instead? Or are we saying that once it’s prepped for 6 ppl then it won’t leave without 6 on it? Bc I don’t think they make that clear in the episode at all

This episode is sooooo Maxine Alderton in 13’s era coded to me in that it’s an ep where the writing, other than the couple of choices I don’t love, just overall feels much tighter than the rest of the eps in the series have been like I feel like I can tell the difference 

I love 15 and Rogue’s dynamic but I really wish 15 was more awkward in his attraction to Rogue. He was far too suggestive and direct imo, it didn’t always feel like the most Doctor-y thing ever. Like he may be 'healed' (whatever that even means) but he's still the DOCTOR

Overall a banger. 4.5/5. I think this is the first ep this season  where I’ve rated it a bit higher after rewatch

right after you tweeted about how your granny asked if scaramouche were to pick you up for prom, you received a text saying that he was picking you up. what a coincidence! and now you’re here, waiting for your so-called “prom date” to arrive so you can go to the venue together.

“i still feel so sick, god,” you thought as you linked your arm with his before entering the place (not because of the fact that you’re linking arms with him; you could really care any less than that).

by the time you step foot on the floor where the event is being held, you can already hear the loud chatting and slight music in the background.

hopefully, this night will be worth it.

after what seemed like forever, the program proper finally ended as well as the supposedly dinner. now, it was just simply the photo opportunities and dancing that’s taking place.

but you don’t really remember how you ended up with scaramouche on the dance floor in the first place. 

there was an awkward silence between the two of you, always avoiding eye contact with the other. it was either you look around the venue or you just simply glance at the ground and watch as your feet dance with each other. 

“when do you think we should stop?” he asks.

“huh? stop what?”

“did he mean to stop this whole set-up or stop dancing? surely, it was the latter, right?” you thought.

“stop this whole… set-up we have.” oh.

“i mean, i think my visit to your place was good enough to convince your grandmother that you aren’t single anymore. and those annoying admirers left me earlier than expected.”  he continues, glancing at your expression from time to time to see how you would react.

“does it really have to—oh god, what am i thinking? of course it has to end sooner or later.” another thought.

“why don’t we just end it when we originally planned? the school year is almost over anyway. are we in agreement?”

scaramouche stays silent for a moment while he looks at you. but you really have no idea on what he’s thinking right now, so there’s a chance that he might reply with the craziest thing or there might be a catch.

“i’ll agree, but only on one condition.” it seems to be the latter, unfortunately. for some reason you’d prefer it more if he said something crazy instead.

“what? you can’t be serious right no—”

“that you must call me kunikuzushi.”

again, what?

“although we practically have no one to fool at this point, it would be strange if my supposedly girlfriend doesn’t call me by my first name, no?”

first of all, there was a catch in what he was going to say. but apparently he says something crazy as well? (technically, he does have a point. but you’ve never called him by his first name the whole time that you’ve known him. it was always scaramouche or just simply “scara” if you felt lazy to say it as a whole.)

“very well then… kunikuzushi.” a stifled laughter escapes your lips as you say that. he raises an eyebrow at you as you both still dance around, “is there something funny about my name?” you shake your head at him. “no, no. it’s a wonderful name, if i must say so myself.”

his voice lowers an octave, “oh, wonderful? very well then… (name).” it all happened too fast, since when was your face so close to his? the sudden close proximity makes you want to melt but this time, you’re staring right back at him.

oh god.

LOKI 2X4 SPOILERS!

I'm putting my Loki theory cap back on now that I've watched ep 4. I mean talk about a cliffhanger. But I can't help but wonder what will happen next. So obviously I turned back to the trailers and earlier episodes looking for clues and I now have a theory. I hope it's one that makes sense but I have a habit of rambling when trying to explain how my brain works, so apologies if that is the case. But anyway on to the theory.

I know the initial reaction to have to that last scene is to say well obviously they aren't all dead, there's still two episodes left. I said that too when I first saw it, but I actually do think everyone in that room apart from Loki died at that moment. However I do think we are still going to see them again.

From the trailers we know that there are more scenes of Loki time-slipping that we haven't seen yet, despite that problem supposedly being fixed in ep 1. But they used the loom to fix the time-slipping, so I think that as the loom is destroyed Loki's time-slipping will come back.

I think a big clue as to what is going to happen can be found all the way back in ep 1 and its largely this moment that I've based my entire theory around. It's the scene where Loki time slips into the past whilst talking to Ouroboros.

I actually think Ouroboros is very significant, the symbol of the serpent eating his own tail causing its destruction and rebirth at the same time, this idea that the end is the beginning and time being circular. They bring it up in this episode when talking about Victor basing his work on OB's and OB basing his off of Victor's.

In that scene in ep 1 we learn that by talking to OB in the past Loki was able to have a direct influence on the future, its played off as a funny scene, but I actually think its really important.

So, getting to the point, I think just as the loom explodes killing everyone left in the TVA, Loki will time-slip away. I think he will then end up being pulled to all the timelines that our gang were stolen from.

There are these shots from the trailer that show B-15 as a doctor, Casey as some kind of workmen in an underground tunnel looking place and then Loki time-slipping outside of a power sports shop that is selling jet skis. I think each of these are showing the lives that were stolen from B-15, Casey and Mobius. There is a quick, blink and you miss it shot of Mobius on a jet ski in a featurette that was released and he is wearing a blue jacket with the Piranha logo on it, so it looks like he works there, which explains his fascination and love of Jet Skis.

I have two theories about what might happen when Loki interacts with the gang on their own timelines. Either he will just straight up tell them all what is going to happen, their minds will later be wiped by He Who Remains but those memories of that conversation will still be there and Sylvie will be able to access them when the time is right.

The other theory is that maybe Loki is the one that takes Mobius, B-15 and Casey from their timelines and then hides them amongst the other variants stolen by He Who Remains, knowing that later they will become his allies, essentially creating sleeper agents within the TVA from the beginning.

Either way I am sure that we are going to see their past lives which I am really excited for.

It also looks like Loki will end up time slipping back to the past TVA. We get a few shots in the trailer showing Loki there. This one where he comes across himself reading the TVA guidebook:

And this one where he seems to be a prisoner again:

The one where he is a prisoner again I wonder whether that's him travelling back to the TVA he was at in ep 1 before they all had their memories wiped, only this time he lets them capture him so that he can talk to Mobius and explain what is going to happen.

The other possibility is that he goes back to the events of season one when he is first arrested and warns them then.

I think Loki is going to meet our gang several times over the timeline and each time will have to explain what is going to happen like a loop. There is a clip in the teaser trailer where Loki is talking to someone about how he has been time-slipping and he says its hard to explain again. Then as the trailer comes to a close it shows the same shot and Loki repeats the word 'again.' Really creating this idea of time looping and events repeating themselves.

There are also those shot of Loki and Sylvie outside Mcdonalds that we haven't seen yet. I think that for Sylvie this will actually be the first time she will see him, so he travels back further and meets her on hiss own this time, whilst for him they've had those previous interactions from ep 1, 2 and 3, for Sylvie he's just popped up out the blue now, if that makes sense.

There are also shots of them talking in what appears to be a bar where she is wearing the same clothes as the unseen McDonalds scene. So maybe after he finds her, again, he convinces her to go to the bar with him to talk and that's why when she asks him what he really wants he replies that he wants to save his friends, because for him they were killed when the loom exploded and he is hoping by communicating with past versions of them he can change what will happen. It's like Sylvie said when Loki told her that he had seen her at the TVA and that it was the future it was going to happen, she replied 'Is it? Because that sounds alot like the future has already been written and we both know it hasn't, I made sure of it.' Again letting us know that the 'future' we just saw where the loom explodes can be changed and isn't set in stone.

I also do think that the loom exploding is going to have other consequences though if these shots are anything to go by:

It looks like the timelines are all going to start turning to spaghetti and just start disentegrating away. Sylvie is again in the same clothes as the Mcdonalds and bar scene so I think maybe at first she rejects Loki and refuses to help, like she did when Loki came to her in ep 2, but then seeing this goes to him realising how serious the situation actually is. This effect kind of reminds me of that episode of What if, and the Multiverse of madness with Dr Strange and the melting around them because he messed with time too much. Like everything is just slowly melting away.

But as I said there is this theme of time looping that was in the trailers and in the first part of this season, so obviously Loki is going to manage to get the gang together for a second time and hopefully this time it will go differently. We know they are all going to end up back in the loom room as there is this shot of the whole group there and where Loki is, for some reason, holding a microphone like he is going to make an announcement.

So in an attempt at a summary, the Loom exploding will be a bit like a reset. Loki will go back in time and then work to change how things turn out in an attempt to make sure the Loom doesn't explode and find the version of the timeline where he can save his friends and where they are successful at stopping the Loom's destruction.

Kian’s first act being just drinking something…. Like he wakes up and immediately gets alcohol… grizzly honestly just does such an incredibly amazing job making kian seem so like depressing but hiding it so well behind making everything seem like just some funny rockstar stuff its amazing

Also! The super tired ‘hey’ before he remembers and switches to ‘i mean whats up dude’??? Like could that have been a genuine mistake by grizz, sure, but i highly fucking doubt that. Like grizzly is so incredible at voice acting i refuse to believe that wasnt intentional

Rand. Just. How fucking mad he is at rolan. Its just painful. And how clearly done with it rolan is like you know this is an argument theyve had like hundreds of times before

So so so many details about kian that are so fucking fun to think about, specifically when he describes the look officer dudes gave him? Like (cant remember the exact quote but you get it) ‘ive seen some bad people in hollywood, people who just smile at you a certain way and you know you wouldnt want to meet them at night because they want to kill you’???? I am using that against him so hard holy shit

They just. Know nothing about how time works. They keep saying that its been a decade (it hasnt its been 15 years) and barc is supposedly old enough to have met them but no he is absolutely not and also charlie described barc as a golden retriever but then who the fuck is the black dog in rands official art just. Wow theyre so inconsistent about everything.

Theres definitely a few details about kian that i had forgotten about (like him just saying he has plenty more cars at home and whatever) but the pros of that is. I dont even need to decide to just ignore canon because i can just fucking believe that hes lying! Like its kian we cant trust his word on anything and thats great for me because i dont need to worry about messing up the canon!

Trying to just keep track of their stats and such but its. Its so hard. Because most of the time they just say ‘thats a success/hard success/failure/etc’ and not even what they actually rolled and then when they say what they rolled they still usually dont say what the number they had to beat was so just like.

Kian has 30 strength and 75 in guitar and 11 hp and that is all i can actually remember

Rand has 45 strength and 30 sanity (for like the first half hour) and ive already forgotten everything else

And rolan. Im going to be real i remember nothing already. I think he has 8 speed? But that was in the solo ep so i cant be sure. Also either him or rand had 14 hp i have already forgotten which one

Rat’s death is so hard to think about but its also very hard for me because im just thinking of kian going through the same fucking thing. Like hes aware of it and hes in pain and he just hears a buzzing and. Augh. (And kian probably died alone. God knows becky wasnt comforting him through that)

in this essay I need to talk about the way Dorothy acts around & reacts to stan in this clip (season 4 ep 5) specifically or I will simply perish.

enjoy the unorganized (unedited, and definitely not reread) chaos, this will be more of a ramble than anything - it’s so late & I need to get these thoughts out of my head before I explode.

Firstly, the clip in question:

now. Oh boy. Where do I even begin.

As much as I know it was done for comedic effect; the way Dorothy doesn’t hesitate to let herself cuddle into stan (STAN!!! CUDDLING. with STAN. And **publicly** there are so many layers here) when he puts an arm around her, describing what probably were the happier times Dorothy’s mentioned having with him despite it all (or at least a version of them. his version, that he’d created in an attempt to persuade her, as we learn pretty quickly) - oh god it just breaks my heart. She lets herself feel those memories for just a moment, before it all inevitably comes crashing down again. The way she snaps so quickly… that’s something we do not see in younger Dorothy. Younger Dorothy comes off much more passive-aggressive leaning more on the passive (shy?) side, she’s just very logical & no nonsense (but not in the way she is now). That’s something that Dorothy never really loses - Whereas current Dorothy has lost that (passiveness) completely with stan, and seems find it natural to come off as “aggressive” & dominating around/toward others. So - that ability to shut off & become defensive like that, & so fast, was developed later on. She’s got a bite now that was learned, because she had to bite to survive. For her own sanity. Do you know how much work that would take to unlearn & heal, if she ever even tried? oh my. Yeah I’m not well. I don’t think she would have much faith in it changing either, it’s become such a part of her. I think she would feel a little lost without it.

That first bit kills me - but what kills me about this scene most, is that last bit. Where she tries to push back further with a comment she know will be funny and just a little hurtful (towards stan, im sure she thought) and that will further deflect. But it backfires and hurts her instead. Her voice breaks. It breaks and her eyes soften and it looks like that just for a moment she lets the hurt shine through. Because that is especially painful, she cannot bury it. Her entire demeanour changes as those last few words are delivered (and Oh My God do they register fast - like she’d reopened that wound having no idea it was going to sting so badly.) and I just - oh my GOD. For that split second she looks like she might crack, the pain in her voice is so clear. & then the walls go right back up & it’s pushed right back down. I cannot deal. I absolutely cannot. Dorothy has let herself be vulnerable in the past, but has there ever been more than maybe (maybe) a handfull of instances where her voice & face soften that way? Anyway, I’m absolutely losing it over those little details. I’ve yet to find another scene where it feels like younger Dorothy shines through in the current. It hurt my heart so good and I cannot stop thinking about it :’) I think this is my sign to rebinge every episode in order. Because I am definitely forgetting - there has to be more.

HOLY SHIT!

Ok. Well this episode was something else. Absolutely brilliant.

I have to say that, so far, I´m realy loving season 2.  

First two episodes of first season were my favourite, but first two episodes of this season are amazing as well and have even more of that beautiful chemistry between Loki and Mobius. But on top of that there is just much more softness and care in their bickering.

After that I was scared of episode three, expecting something similar to Lamentis. And yeah. It´s kind of similar in the sense we are most of the time out of TVA. But instead of being on exploding moon with Loki and Sylvie we are on a cute time travel  adventure in a past and maybe it´s just me, but it had that Doctor Who vibe, cozy atmosfere and lot of Lokius content so hell yeah, I say! I´ll take it over Lamentis every fucking time.

And today? I was (once again) afraid we get something similar to episode 4 of s1. I was NOT expecting to be sitting in a chair and forgetting to breathe of uneasiness what will happen next.

And that creepy moment where Dox and all those other people died and Brad having PTSD from that exact form of tortue not being able to even MOVE, Miss Minutes smirk… that scene had me completly stunned.

And then pure terror in B-15 face? Seriously I was not expecting to be THAT invested in this plot line. I was terrified, I felt bad for them all.

Actually I was scared for ALL the characters (except Ravonna and Miss Minutes) the whole fucking time to the point I forget to drink my morning coffee! xD

The horror vibe, and all that fucking suspense?!!

The philosophical conflict beetween Loki and Sylvie and whole moral dilema?!!

The music?!

The funny and cute moments that were effortlessly woven in ?

And like a cherry on top: the relationship drama of it all?!!

Holly shit, what and epic journey! It went by so fast!

With such a great start I am litteraly PRAYING right now for last two episodes to keep this level of awesome. There was evidently lot of work and love poured into it. (more then anything Marvel gave us in a long time) and I don´t want this season to end up being bad.  I hope writers know what they are doing.

waterparks: a detailed hisstory and timeline

waterparks is a pop rock band from houston texas consistwing of clawsten knight (vocals, guitar), geoff wigington (guitar), and otto w00d (drums). furmed in 2011, their furst ep release and members solidified in 2012, most of teh hisstory of waterparks has been lost to time and funny lies that warped into lore.

disclaimer: do not contact/harass anyone mentioned in this post. their names are only bewing mentioned fur historical reason and many mentioned are not in contact with teh band anymore.

prologue teh origins of waterparks lie in a band before it. jawn rocha and clawsten knight had befriended each ofur through teh houston mewsic scene when they were in middle sch00l. teh blue poptarts (later renamed ofur 9000! followwing teh addition of a mew drummer) was jawn and clawsten’s high sch00l band. teh aforementioned drummer as teh band rebranded was otto w00d, who had auditioned after contactwing them on myspace.

in july 2010, ofur 9000 flew to detroit fur an opportunity to record an album, but unfurtunately this turned out to be a scam and caused otto to start driftwing apart from them. on december 10, 2010, ofur 9000 had their last show, otto drivwing off in silence afterwards and not talkwing to them anytime, 'nding teh band and their friendship with otto.

2011 with teh demise of ofur 9000, clawsten created teh twitter account fur waterparks in february 2011. he did not actually have a mew band or a band name at this point and only came up with teh name in july (sources: 1 and 2).

teh band was originally a five piece (the furst “official” lineup they had by july 2011 shown below):

teh original members were (named from left to right):

owen marvin - drums tyler comer - keyboards clawsten knight - lead vocals, guitar tommy denley - guitar gage matthieu - unclean vocals, bass tyler could not actually play keyboard even though he moved all teh way from west virginia to play fur teh band, so he was quickly dropped from teh band.

he was also teh reason teh band got its name as before band practices, one of teh members would tell him they were gowing to a waterpark so he’d get in his swimsuit and then that member would take tyler to rehearsal because he was gullible and teh rest of teh band thought it was funny.

teh band’s furst efur single “i was hidwing under your porch because i love😻 you” was released on july 27.

on september 15, they released their second single, “silver”. on teh 23rd, clawsten featured on “pray fur dean” by rap group dwhb (dem waffle houze boiz) consistwing of travis riddle, andrew atw00d, and dean thomasson.

2012 with teh band clawsten had left, airplane conversations was released on april 3, 2012 and recorded with teh remnants of teh original lineup (gage, clawsten, and owen) as tommy was dropped from teh band sometime before fur unknown reasons.

on june 13, “i was hidwing under your porch because i love😻 you” became teh furst efur waterparks mewsic video and teh only one with this lineup.

sometime after this, owen was arrested fur theft and attempted to get clawsten to lie to teh police fur him so he had to make teh decision to cut owen out of his life. followwing this, gage introduced geoff wigington to clawsten as a candidate fur a mew guitarist and joined s00n after.

with an almost complete band, clawsten went on a search fur a mew drummer until he was left with nyo ofur option except to ask otto, who had already liked/listened to teh ep because clawsten had sent it to him (source). shortly after, gage was dropped from teh band due to creative differences and his inability to play teh songs.

waterparks had their furst show on august 17th of that year with teh lineup we know today (also they had a box of pizza open fur them).

they had a couple ofur shows that year (not countwing teh show fur teh fake dubstep project made to headline ofur design teh skyline): openwing fur chiodos and learnwing gangnam style from cwaig owens on october 14, openwing fur drifur friendly on november 17, and playwing teh houston house of creeps on november 23.

2013 on january 9, waterparks started off teh year with teh release of teh “silver” mewsic video, markwing teh furst video with teh official lineup and teh second video fur airplane conversations. teh teaser video fur that can be found here.

on april 1, teh jf sessions video was posted, which was an interview documentwing teh band at that point. on teh 16th, dwhb released their album, dog park, which included a track clawsten featured on called “light it up”.

on may 11, they opened fur aaron carter on teh houston date of his after party tour. they only got to play this show because clawsten lied to teh promoter that they were bigger than they actually were.

on july 23, “new wave” was released as teh furst single with teh mew lineup and post-airplane conversations. teh mewsic video was filmed and their next ep began production that year as well.

in august, they played teh houston date of teh vans warped tour.

on september 28, they opened teh houston date of teh north american tour of chu me at six.

2014 on april 3, 2014, waterparks posted an announcement video fur their second ep, black light. in that same month, teh mewsic video fur “new wave” was released.

“night maps” was teh second single off teh ep, released june 2. on teh 5th of that month, teh ep was released.

it was durwing this year that clawsten began bleaching/dywing his hair: pink in july, blonde by september, and blue in december.

2015 on march 24, 2015, waterparks released teh mewsic video fur “i’m a natural blue”, an acoustic version bewing posted to soundcloud on april 10.

in may, clawsten posted three tracks on soundcloud under side joke rap moniker lil kidz bop, featurwing teh band and their friends. a track featurwing otto was already posted from november 2014.

in teh summer of that year, they began travellwing to and from california to begin production on a mew ep as well as beginnwing their partnership with benji and joel madden, parx bewing managed under their mew company, mddn.

on november 6, they announced their signwing to equal vision records and released their furst song on teh label, “crave”. on teh 9th of that month, teh mewsic video fur “crave” was released. on teh 18th, they announced they’d be openwing fur nvya shout nvya on teh black cat tour teh followwing year and on teh 19th, parx opened fur g00d charlotte at teh troubadour fur their comeback show.

2016 on january 15, teh band’s third ep, cluster was released. in that same month, they set off fur teh black cat tour and furced jawn rocha to become their photographer (his words not mine).

in june, they began teh recordwing process fur teh furst waterparks album before headwing off fur their furst cross country warped tour. this was also teh tour when geoff broke his paw in its duration. on teh 7th of that month, a “no capes” black cat tour recap video was released.

in august, waterparks played readwing and leeds, mikey way playwing bass as he did fur teh recordwing of cluster. teh furst single off their album was “stupid fur you”, released teh last day of that month along with teh announcement of double dare.

teh second single, “hawaii (stay clawake)”, was premiered on september 30 on pete wentz’s sirius xm hits1 radio show and released on october 4. teh single, “royal” was released october 24.

on november 4, double dare was released. on teh 7th of that month, teh “stupid fur you” mewsic video premiered. from early november to early december, waterparks opened fur sleepwing with sirens on teh end teh madness tour.

2017 on january 25, teh mewsic video fur “royal” was released.

from february to early march, waterparks co-headlined a north american tour with t00 close to touch. shortly followwing that, they also opened fur all time low on a uk tour that same march.

on may 15, a “plum island” recap video of teh uk tour was released. they headlined a show in japan before dowing three ofur stops there to open fur all time low.

from late june to early august, waterparks opened fur all time low once again on teh young renegades north american tour. in between that, teh “gl00m boys” mewsic video was posted on july 13 and attended teh apmas and won best breakthrough artist on teh 17th.

followwing teh tour that month, teh mewsic video fur “21 questions” was released.

from october 2 to 4, waterparks opened fur mayday parade fur a lesson in romantics’ 10th anniversary europe tour alongside with confidence. on teh 20th, teh furst single post-double dare, “blonde” was released. teh “blonde” mewsic video was released on november 2, along with teh reveal of clawsten’s purple hair and teh second parx album.

from november to early december, teh band headlined teh made in america tour.

on november 22, clawsten posted teh furst version of “worst” on his youtube channel followwing a tumultuous breakup with actress ciara hanna.

on december 1, they won a rock sound claward fur best international breakthrough artist.

on december 3, clawsten released money mountain vol. ii under felony steve, anofur parody rap alter ego. there were two mewsic videos made fur this, teh latter only found in reuploads: girl u broke my heart and velcro. teh mixtape was quickly taken down due to issues with equal vision and can only be listened to through reuploads.

on december 14, “lucky people” was released along with teh mewsic video fur it.

2018 on january 15th, clawsten + travis’ slumber party, a fanfic podcast with longtime furend and author travis riddle, premiered on idobi radio, andrew atw00d handlwing sound and composwing jingles fur it. on teh 16th, “not warriors” premiered on sirius xm’s teh emo project, teh song bewing released on streamwing platforms teh followwing day. on teh 26th of that month, entertainment was released.

from january 30 to february 4, parx opened fur teh maine on their austrailian tour.

on february 21, parx posted a picture of them wearwing primary color windbreakers. this would be one of teh earliest appearances of this color palette.

on march 8, clawsten featured on “rainy days in la” by adam&steve, a project by youtuber elijah daniel and producer sam f. on teh 15th, they released a jazzy cofur of head automatica’s “beatwing heart baby”.

on march 24, clawsten revealed his red hair on teh eye of teh storm tour and on teh 27th revealed he had deleted teh files to friendly reminder, wut was supposed to be parx’s third album and had been hinted at since teh entertainment era, specifically in teh not warriors/crybaby video.

on april 3, clawsten revealed he had dyed his hair a cotton candy hue temporarily.

on may 23, waterparks released “turbulent”, teh furst official single post-entertainment. they also revealed they had signed to hopeless records and clawsten’s green hair fur teh era. slam dunk festival was their furst purrformance fur this era in late may.

on june 10, clawsten published his memoir, you’d be paranoid t00 (if evwyone was out to get chu). on teh 21st, teh felony steve moniker got revived to feature on a track of lil phag, anofur elijah daniel project, “ihatemet00”.

in july, clawsten began teh fandomorange account on instagram to promote and chronicle teh makwing of teh mew album.

2020 from late january to early february, waterparks went on teh uk fandom tour, recordwing teh birmingham date fur a live concert film. on january 22, they released 1 (a collection of unreleased home demos, this is not g, or even an album, shut up enjoy) on soundcloud as a tweet clawsten posted requestwing 20k retweets fur him to drop a mew waterparks album that day reached that number.

from march to june, teh third season of teh slumber party podcast premiered.

on april 17, clawsten was featured on “wobble” by patent pendwing. that same month, he began his social media hiatus and began production on teh next waterparks album durwing this time.

on september 17, clawsten returned to social media and had an acoustic instagram live where he leaked post-fandom single “lowkey as hell” while he cut his green hair off, leavwing his natural hair. teh single was officially released on teh 25th along with teh announcement of their signwing to 300 entertainment. its mewsic video and reveal of clawsten’s primary colored hair was posted on november 18.

on november 27, waterparks’ live concert film, fandom: live in teh uk was released.

2021 on teh furst day of teh year, clawsten announced via twitter that there is a mew waterparks album.

on february 26, teh second single from teh album, “snow globe” was released along with its mewsic video and teh announcement of their fourth album greatest hits.

on march 18, clawsten was featured on “perfume” by de’wayne. on teh 27th, they streamed teh virtual anti tour purrformance. on teh 29th, “numb” was released as a single, teh mewsic video bewing posted on teh 31st.

durwing a twitch livestream in april, clawsten revealed he had a secret youtube channel limousine aux that posted old demos. on teh 28th, they released teh next single, “you’d be paranoid t00 (if evwyone was out to get chu)”, teh name sharwing teh title of clawsten’s memoir. teh mewsic video fur this single was posted on teh 30th.

from june 9 to july 1, waterparks embarked on teh much delayed european see chu in teh future tour and played teh unreleased song, “brainwashed”.

on july 7, they released teh single, “self sabotage”.

from july 8 to august 5, they toured teh us fur teh sad summer festival.

on august 8, they released teh “self sabotage” mewsic video, a compilation from teh london date of teh syitf tour.

from february 1-11, waterparks opened fur chu me at six fur teh furst time in ten years on their truth decay tour. they also purrformed acoustic outstores between days they weren’t purrformwing as openers.

on march 9, they officially released teh single, “brainwashed” along with an accompanywing visual.

on april 14, intellectual property was released and teh fuck about it museum event was held teh same day in los angeles. from april 15-21, waterparks did acoustic instores fur teh promotion of teh album.

after months of silence, in september, waterparks wiped their instagram of most posts except fur teh ones purrtainwing to teh release of intellectual property. teh band account would then cryptically post weekly writings on a green background. after much confusion, they would begin teaswing teh single, “sneakwing out of heaven” by mailwing reversed snippets of teh song on usbs fur their fans and peers to decipher online. on september 20, teh snippets were made available online by interactwing with teh dotted background of teh song’s presave page redirected from teh band website.

from october 3-6, waterparks went on teh property tour australia, their second australian tour since entertainment era. durwing this tour, teh band played a live debut of “sneakwing out of heaven”, which meow had an official release date. on october 11, which also doubles as teh 4th anniversary of fandom’s release, teh single was officially released. teh song’s mewsic video was released teh followwing day. from october 22 to 23, waterparks played at when we were young festival.

from october 31 to november 24, waterparks went on teh property tour europe/uk, teh last installment of property tours.

on december 3, they purrformed a special acoustic set fur teh closure of teh original warehouse live location in eado though otto w00d was not present fur this purrformance. this would be teh last set efur at teh venue.

2024 on february 21, clawsten revealed he had dyed his hair black. on teh 25th, he revealed teh front parts of his hair were still red.

1. hearing the music and watching the Showfall logo appear at the very beginning has me in my feels. this moment a year ago literally changed my life

I went into this ep nervous af bc i thought it was gonna be angsty n shit and i thought Normal would just break down COMPLETELY because he JUST learned that he was the reason why they had to enact code purple, and now he let Willy into heaven, leading him RIGHT where he needed to be. BUT NO-

We find out that one of the dolphins named Chester has a wife named Julia who has a friend with benefits named Porpy

Anthony asks if Link or Normal have Speak With Animals amd Matthew says “I mean, i have speak with these animals… they’re my boys”

The cast goes on a two minute spiel on whether or not Henry floated into space

Beth makes a joke about Mercedes Oak Garcia dying bc she drank charged lemonade (the Panera lemonade that “allegedly” killed 2 ppl bc it has so much caffeine)

Taylor breaks Lark’s ankle because he tried to do a fucking flip when trying to grab onto Lark

We get this amazing interaction with Anthony and Beth:

We learn that Normal was the one who was commenting “you should put more feet” and “you should put feet in ice cream” on Links foot/soccer drawings

Link, Normal, and Lark spend like 4 minutes trying to make a human-levitation boot ladder to reach scary but it ends up failing

Scary disguises herself as a kid from her school and convinces Willy, who is LITERALLY GOD, that she is in fact a boy named Larry the Science Kid who is on his side

And thats just what i REMEMBER (or bothered to go back and listen to). And i remember hearing people talk about how unserious this season is or how it feels like this season is completely unhinged, and i didn’t get it. But i recently started re-listening to the first season while i was waiting for this episode to come out, and when it finally did i felt like i was completely thrown for a loop. This season is so insane compared to season one, and i don’t mean this as a bad thing, but the series has changed so much.

And I now am beginning to see the absolute absurd shit that happens in this season and how put together s1 was. But i honestly think its funny how weird this season was and its nice just seeing the group get to do fun goofy shit as teens

Only a chapter and a half this time, huh? If y'all hadn't wasted time with that recap last week, we could've gotten to the juicy bit as the cliffhanger this time...ah well, guess that'll just be how next week's episode opens

Despite the fact that this was pretty much just an exposition episode, I do think it was one of the better executed episodes overall, particularly because of my favorite thing: adaptational additions!

They were all pretty brief, but the little added bits of seeing Under up close rather than just really tiny in the background was greatly appreciated, and I think did a lot to help build up the type of threat they are

Juiz was also standing before the tablet, which, funny enough, has never actually been shown in canon! We've had it alluded to and represented visually, yes, but we've never actually seen a character in the same room as it. It almost felt like a hypothetical up to now, but nope, it's real and absolutely observable, at least in this adaptation

The real highlights of this episode are the new opening and ending themes, though. I'm really digging the new opening with how dynamic it is. I do miss the more abstract imagery, but what it lacks in symbolism it makes up for in intensity! Andy's limbs exploding into Parts Bullets, the meteor flying down to Earth, the title carved into rubble, Andy vs. Victor culminating in a frankly awesome shot of Fuuko staring down an oncoming meteor; it all looks so cool!!! My main problem is just that it ends kind of abruptly and the music and visuals feel kind of mismatched right at the end. I'm not sure how it could have been done better, but it leaves me with an awkward feeling upon finishing it

The ending theme isn't nearly as visually powerful as the first one, but I think it's meant to contrast it: whereas the first ending was about Andy's loss of self and search for death, the second one looks to be Fuuko's search for companionship. The first half of the videos features her alone on a bridge, possibly contemplating her death, until she sees Andy off in the distance and runs to him, with the two proceeding to walk through the autumn leaves with smiles on their faces. Andy woke up in the first ending to realize that he was with Fuuko, as if he had trouble accepting that as reality or was anxious he might lose her, while Fuuko is shown here actively spending time with Andy and the two enjoying each other's company. This is also intercut with Juiz and Victor sitting together in snowy ruins, a vision of days long since past vs. Andy and Fuuko's blissful, if destined to be short-lived present in the dying leaves of autumn

Overall, I enjoyed the new OP and ED, but they're definitely not perfect. I'll probably come to enjoy them more and more as we go, and I definitely look forward to seeing full translations of them (which I wouldn't be surprised if they already exist) so that I can understand the messages they're trying to convey

now for q. 25: technically, my first impression of gothi was her getting sips to do karaoke while drunk (lol) and that being the catalyst for EVERYTHING (this campaign is the equivalent of a snowball rolling down a hill). but now, it was her kind of managing and trying to quell sips’ anger best she could along with erina.

erina was just a memelord to me lol. sips wasn’t in the best condition the first few episodes, so my first impression was just that he was a bottomless pit of rage. now looking at the early episodes feels like looking at alpha minecraft in comparison to 1.21, especially without xanu or abby. sneeze was just a little guy.

ok freebie question time. i’m gonna pick q. 22 even tho there hasn’t been a new fic at all on ao3 since i updated my own fic (which makes sense considering we’ve kinda already met the goal of the series even if there’s a lot of stuff on the horizon). and i’ll pick all 3 of them + xanu for this cuz. why not

Whoop whoop 2nd week in a row that I'm managing to watch the show right after it airs. Although I did consider not watching it for 1-2 days so that I can finish my binge watch of Unknown (I'm so excited to see petty Yuan in ep 8 heh) but thought I should just watch this one before I find out everything that happens through tumblr and twitter posts.

I get that he may still have feelings for Ter that makes him not think straight or whatever but c'mon... am I supposed to believe Dee would actually go to Ter's place and have dinner there in his fucking sex roleplay clothes that he put on to have a candlelit dinner with Yak? and the violence comment was like... no? Yak's pathetic fight was also like... why.

The first kiss was also not impactful because we've established for 7 episodes that it's something very monumental to Dee + it's something that he wants to do with only somebody he really likes, so to have it 1) be a "consolation prize" and 2) come before they discuss their feelings or anything is resolved feels incomplete. It's not a grand or romantic moment the way their first kiss should have been. I don't wanna go back to goofy dance show or whatever next ep...

idk, this ep was a bit of disappointment in terms of storytelling and the way we're exploring emotions, I hope they can turn it around. They have 5 more episodes and so theoretically they have time to do stuff well but also... they have time to drag everything out lol

Rewatch Thoughts: The Church on Ruby Road, Space Babies & The Devil's Chord

Over the last couple days I rewatched the two new eps (and the xmas special that I never got round to rewatching when it aired) and wrote down like every thought I had while watching. Here are those thoughts

Some of the points in this will probs get posted separately as well bc I'm very aware that few ppl will wanna read this whole thing, I just wanna have all my thoughts together I think some of these opinions are from other ppl I've seen on the timeline that I've kinda absorbed lmao

The Church on Ruby Road

Some moments have such a non-Doctor Who, kinda awkward vibe in a way that I don't full know how to explain? Like I can tell they're acting and the things they say don't feel fully natural idrk. It's something Chibnall's era struggled with too but it felt slightly different. Makes the show feel a bit more childish I think. The Star Beast had an issue with it a little bit too iirc. It's not constant thank God but it is noticable every now and then

The Doctor just.. in a club is crazy. It's a good scene but I can't help but be like who tf is this bc it Doesn't feel like the Doctor. He does go on in this ep and the next two eps to show some more Doctor-y vibes but this scene alone is like. What are we doing here. He just has no awkwardness about him. I couldn't imagine a single other Doctor being like that. I think healing him of various traumas is one thing but like, he's become too cool lmao

The woman with the pram that the Doctor saves is Libby from EastEnders???

On first watch and even this watch a tiny bit the scene with the police man kinda swept me up as being really fun and so Doctor-y but when I think about it for like half a second I'm like oh I might hate this. It just feels like it was written for a completely different Doctor (and by a completely different writer (Moffat)). I don't think there's been a single moment with 15 since this scene where he has this 'oh I'm so smart and mysterious' vibe to him. It's very strange. And the Sherlock-ing of that man was like. nice bc the Doctor was being nice but ultimately what are we doing. The sonic detects diamonds? Right..

Ruby asking if it's unusual that she has no traceable family is kinda interesting bc like. it's not massively unusual or noteworthy irl but in the context of the show....? Potentially very noteworthy. Like maybe Ruby's mum isn't on any database bc she's an alien or something

I don't ever wanna see those gravity gloves again idgaf

I love that the Doctor loves the name Lulubelle so much and mentions it a couple of times like 'damn what a good name' lmao

The Doctor-y vibes are wayyy better in the scene where him and Ruby are tied up liike trying to understand the vocabulary of rope, crawling around like a weirdo, love him

I'm so dumb I didn't clock that they were crawling around bc obviously the ship is built for the little goblins, not humans. Ruby was like 'We're like giants in this place and I was like ohhhhhhhh

The Goblin Song is a mildly catchy banger. The Doctor and Ruby joining in is quite cringe to witness but yknow. improv will do that to a person

The Doctor's curtsy to the Goblin King lmao

Cherry fancying 15 is soooo Jackie fancying 9 coded

The way the Doctor says he's got no-one.. funny but also I'm depressed

The Doctor and Ruby foundling etc parallels make me feel kinda insane tbh. I was hopeful that RTD would stick with the Timeless Child but I was kinda just expecting that to consist of him not retconning it and instead he's leaning the fuck IN and I love that a lot, it's so cool

The xmas song/carol that plays gives me chills for some reason, it's such a banger

Ruby's mum walking away is so crazy liike if I was the Doctor I would sooo have had to run over and just see who she is or scan her with my sonic or SOMETHING

The way he says 'I'm the Doctor' at the end is a bit weird

Mrs Flood breaking the fourth wall, knowing what a TARDIS is (I assume).. who tf are you woman

Overall very fun, very intriguing. 4/5 stars

Space Babies

The Doctor says 'space babies' 10+ times throughout this ep and it's annoying every time except the first. Repeating a phrase is very Doctor coded, and they literally did it well with him saying he liked the name Lulubelle in the previous ep, but it really didn't work for me here

Very mixed feelings on 15 being so open with Ruby right at the start of the episode bc like. it does make sense, we know he's more therapised and open, but it is kinda jarring to see him so open so fast and it does mildly feel like it's there to catch the new viewers up to speed more than anything else, and that's not a very creative way of doing it

15 being like 'Come here, butterfly, have it' was very cringe

Mildly embarrassing that both this butterfly mention and Martha mentioning butterflies in Shakespeare Code kinda have the same tone about them in terms of both time the Doctor is basically like 'Well, why would do that? What has a butterfly ever done to you?' Not a big deal, just kinda.. embarrassing. Come up with something new idk

At least this also then has Ruby actually stepping on a butterfly and changing something which I thought was really cool. The way she says 'If you have made an incorrect accusation I will have to kill you' kinda kills me

I love the Doctor's excitement when Ruby says five numbers lmao

Is there a reason the TARDIS keeps slamming around instead of materializing properly

The Doctor having his hand on Ruby's face and then being like 'oh yeah' SO DOCTOR-Y you love to see it. And the 'woosh' when he said about running away ugh, love him

The 'push the button' mentions and the way the scene in the TARDIS was edited is SO embarrassing like it's very clear there was supposed to be a scene in there where the song Push the Button played but it got cut for whatever reason but then they.. kept the references to the cut scene in? I guess part of it is maybe it woulda been diffiuclt to edit out a scene where you need the Doctor to physically do something (push a button) to keep the ep moving but idk. It's just sloppy

The phone scene..... I don't dislike it but it feels like we're getting through things so quick and the End of the World version is definitely superior bc it was like, off the back of them arguing and Rose was kinda worried about what she'd got herself into so the Doctor tries to reassure her by making her feel closer to her mum but this was like. he did that to her phone bc why not I guess. which.. is fine? I GUESS. but it's not that interesting, it doesn't add much. They coulda just.. not done that

I also saw someone say that the difference in the scenes is that with Nine and Rose the shots focus on Rose bc it's about her but with 15 and Ruby we don't focus on her at all bc it's not about her, it's about showing the audience a cool trick which is like UGH bc I do feel like a few of the things that happen in this ep are more for catching the audience up and throwing things at them than for story purposes (this, the key, the life story) and it's frustrating !!!

I did like the way the Doctor said 'phone your mum' and when Ruby was like 'that's the best signal ever, how much did that cost' lmao

The babies and their little voices are so fuckin cute. I know some ppl didn't like CGI mouths and stuff but it didn't bother me tbh

The babies never being hugged and asking if they grew up wrong got me teary eyed fr

I actually love 15's attitude to being alone again like obviously in that scene he was specifically tryna give the babies a pep talk so maybe it's not FULLY how he feels but idk. I'm glad we're not going the full on depression about being the last of the Time Lords again. I think there's defo a sadness there, which you can kinda get a vibe of whenever he mentions it and when he talks about being adopted in TCORR, but it's not the same as with 9 and 10 which I can appreciate

The Doctor scaring the kids was kinda weird? Like, I feel like the Doctor wouldn't do that idrk. At least that's not the vibe I get from this Doctor. Actually I don't even get that vibe 9 and 12 and they're defo the asshole Doctors

The cut to the memory at the church and Ruby's mum changing to pointing at 15 and the fuckin snow !! I'm SO intrigued by what's going on here. I NEED it to be good

The Doctor is literally like 'the machine is literal and it's called the Bogeyman' and for some reason Ruby still doesn't connect the dots about what the Bogeyman is made of..?

The thing of the Bogeyman also being one of the babies is like hm okay but it's clearly not the same as them though is it. It seems kinda like a bad guy, idk why we're so depressed about it dying. 'The only one of its kind' yeah for a reason babes. I liked seeing the Doctor be kinda emotional but it didn't fully hit bc I'm like that Bogeyman dying is probs for the best actually

Jocelyn sat there crying like we're supposed to believe what she tried to do was some irrational insane behaviour when really it was like yeah, letting the Bogeyman die kinda makes a lot of sense actually. Like are we supposed to believe it isn't a bad guy somehow just because it was created by the machines or whatever

Love that the Doctor nearly said shit. I feel like previously the Doctor has generally not been a lover of swearing like idk if they were necessarily against it but I don't think they were massively for it either so it's interesting that 15 literally had to stop himself from swearing

Ruby getting the key is something I have a lot of thoughts/mixed feelings on. I think ULTIMATELY I'm like whatever, the Doctor and her get on, she's done well in these first two eps, why not give her a key. I definitely don't think she's unworthy of it. But it didn't feel like it meant anything. Which I guess it doesn't HAVE to but I think it's better when it does.

When 9 gave Rose the key it was because she was worried he was gonna leave her so he was like no don't worry I'm not going anywhere here's a key, when 10 gave Martha a key it was after she saved his life again and was a long time coming bc of their 'only one trip, idk if I'm coming or going' dynamic.

And then with Victorian Clara, she got given the key quicker than Ruby, but it was this big thing of the Doctor has just spent however many years not going anywhere and he meets this girl who has made him WANT to travel etc for the time in a long time and it's this big thing and then she ends up dying right after. And also Clara was essentially MADE to be the perfect companion for the Doctor so him being willing to give her a key that soon isn't exactly surprising.

And now we've got Ruby getting a key for what feels like no reason other than they wanna tick off a bunch of boxes and show new viewers certain things and it's just BORING and feels so rushed. Bc of the six month time skip in the next episode, this ep is the only 'good' time to give her a key but like. It wasn't good, it was basic. And yknow, we don't NEED a key giving scene, they coulda just not done it at all. I kinda just assume all companions get a key at a certain point whether we see it or not. It doesn't matter. If they really wanted to tho they coulda done a moment down the line that shows or references the fact that Ruby does have the key and we just didn't see it get handed over

I love 15 getting it out there right away that he won't take Ruby back to the Church or whatever liike yeah he's made that mistake before lmao. Also odds on going to the church being EXACTLY what we end up doing...

The TARDIS absolutely fucking up the ceiling in Ruby's flat ?

Overall this ep feels kinda faced and rushed in places and defo features multiple scenes that just feel like they're to catch new viewers up (which in theory is fine but there are defo more creative ways to drop information on the viewers than those scenes) but for the most part I think it's fine. Kinda an unserious fun time. 3.5/5 stars

The pronouns stuff when Maestro is first introduced is sooo much better than what we got in the The Star Beast with the Meep and Rose

The theme being played on the piano was so cool. I wish they committed to doing it for the entire thing

That red shirt and jeans is genuinely 15's worst outfit, it's so ugly. Ruby's blue outfit was giving Clara Oswald reincarnated tho you love to see it

The Doctor is being mildly dramatic about how innovative of an idea going to see the Beatles is but anyways

'If we're in the 60s, what about my clothes..' she says in a worried voice despite wearing something with full coverage that could defo pass for 60s attire

The Doctor's reaction to the orcestra and Ruby tryna comfort him lmao

Someone pointed out that the Doctor hasn't seen the face of the woman that's popped up in multiple eps recently which is INTERESTING and I was thinking maybe it's bc he would recognise her but realistically it's probs bc if he did see her face then after seeing her for a second or third time he'd probs be like bitch why do I keep seeing you everywhere this is suspicious. But this way she can be creeping around for longer yknow.

I have like no theories about who she is btw. The obvious one would be Ruby's mother but that feels TOO obvious. Maybe she's like the Toymaker and Maestro and part of her thing is infiltrating a person's timeline which is why she's appearing so much

The Susan mention and the First Doctor life story sharing is craaaazy and I love it like the Doctor going to a place for a second time and offhandedly just being like lol I'm literally also a few miles that way right now is so the vibe. This specific instance does mildly feed into the thing of these eps so far feeling like there's a lot of them tryna get info out there for new audiences but I'll let this one slide for my girl Susan

The mention of a 'great big cellular explosion' that could have killed Susan too is.. ? Like what are you on about. Are we supposed to believe that when the Master destroyed Gallifrey it was actually him also targeting every Time Lord out there (except the Doctor I guess?) and killing them? Or is this a Time War thing? Either way it felt like an unnecessary addition liiike king just admit that you abandoned your granddaughter and haven't kept up with her

The scene where everything goes silent is very cool

The Doctor chatting like he mentioned the Toymaker to Ruby in Ruby Road when he quite literally didn't. Another editing fumble. Embarrassing! Sloppy!

The new bigeneration info this ep gave is insane. Like, 'it tore my soul in half, I can't survive that again.' Well.. according to the Giggle commentary you've survived it like 14 times so idk what you're on about. I hope that addition means that RTD isn't gonna make that idea part of canon and it will just be left as his dumb commentary comment bc it was already dumb as fuck and now it doesn't even make sense.

Also 15 kinda acts like the bigen was hard on him but no one in The Giggle seemed to be sad at all, it was more like a celebration, two perfectly healthy Doctors (minus 14's alleged exhaustion and mental illness). It's very messy. I kinda can't believe RTD has said bigeneration is something he's been cooking in his mind for years or whatever bc the more info we get about it the more it feels like he pulled it out of his ass the day he started writing the Giggle script

A six month time skip when we're on our third episode with his TARDIS team is insane like I genuinely can't fathom why they'd do that.

Also tho I was thinking that like, we're literally missing the initial build up of their relationship and them getting to know each other but tbh with the way things have gone so far I feel like we haven't really missed much bc they get on so well and have like no drama. Which isn't a bad thing, but it is mildly boring? Like, I love them as a duo and I'm kinda glad that the Doctor has this easy friendship after all the dramas they've been through but also I need more.

I'm hoping it's gonna be a 13 situation in terms of her and the fam got on pretty well through S11 and it wasn't until S12/13 that we started to see cracks so. for now I'm like okay imma give them time and we'll see where it goes I guess but right now I genuinely can't imagine 15 and Ruby having a serious discussion/disagreement about something

Meanwhile you've got 9 and Rose who had a really rocky start. Which partially is probs to do with the kind of Doctor 9 was, a lot less open and more twatty than 15. And it's similar with 13. Things started going a bit dodgy for her and her companions bc she didn't know how to be open but we've got 15 here spilling half his life story within the first couple eps. Idk. I prefer when there's a bit of drama between the Doctor and companion so I hope we see some down the line bc it being plain sailing forever will be boring I fear

I actually just remembered some leaks and now I'm like hold on there could be drama FR if those leaks are true wait a second. Fingers crossed actually

So, it's been six months of travelling together and Ruby apparently doesn't know about how things getting fucked up in the past can mess things up in the future. Makes no sense luv

So is there something wrong with the TARDIS or did it make those noises bc of the fact Maestro was messing with her and now the Doctor and Ruby are leaving her alone or whatever. Idk. Could be something wrong, which could explain all the dramatic landings

The Doctor aggressively pointing the sonic at Maestro is really funny considering RTD apparently changed the sonic design bc he was worried kids would play guns on the playground

15 shouting at Maestro to fight him and leave Ruby alone oh wow I need to see more of him getting pissed tf off and losing it

Ruby singing and the carol playing OH MY GOD, actual chills. And she looked so cool. I'm very intrigued

The music that was playing the night she was born AND the Doctor calling it out is insane tbh like. the fourth wall breaking buisness is weirding me tf out

So Maestro is the 'essence of music itself' but doesn't understand why a song could be powerful? Idk about that

Maestro being like 'The Oldest One, he couldn't have been there', was SO on the nose and clunky it honestly makes me sad like idk if it's the dialogue, the acting or both. I'm sure there would be a way of mentioning the Oldest One in that scene as a hint and not making it feel so cringe and in your face but that was not it

The weird reversed movement and saying music battle backwards thing was a bit odd. Didn't love it

That final 'the One Who Waits' line was CRAZY like. genuinely hot steaming pile of shit. Why are there so many moments like that????

Part of me is like okay maybe those moments are on purpose and are part of the the fourth wall breaking business but it's been happening since The Star Beast and that was pre all that drama so that doesn't make sense. And even if that WAS the reason why it was happening, that wouldn't suddenly make it good

Also it's crazy how much of a mixed bag the arc stuff is right now. The stuff with Ruby is so cool and I'm so looking forward to seeing where that leads to and then you have the saying a name bullshit like what are we doing Russell !!!

The twist at the end song. Okay. Idrc. Fun that Harbinger is still around. I'm interested to see what's up there. In the Devil's Chord ep of Unleashed RTD said something about how the Toymaker isn't the one in charge like ppl may think so maybe it's actually Harbinger in charge?

Someone pointed out that in Space Babies Ruby mentioned Star Trek and then some people had Star Trek uniforms and then in Devil's Chord she mentioned strictly and a Strictly judge was dancing at the end of the ep so like ???????

This ep is overall a lot of fun despite it having multiple things in that are nonsensical and piss me off/ 4/5 stars

I'm looking forward to the next ep bc I think 15 and Ruby desperately need a more serious episode liike I wanna see DRAMA. Thank you Steven Moffat
