Getting out the jitters

I'm going to watch the Dev livestream for Monster Hunter Wilds tomorrow and I am so jittery from anticipation

just :V *squeak* all evening my body is READY I love everything in the newest trailer so far and am thrilled to see more of where this style is going

Lala bambina is a boss I could see happening in Hollow Knight tbh! I know Rise/Sunbreak had some very stylized monsters to match the theme of Japanese yokai and spirits, but I'm thrilled to see some more fantastical flair in the SpecBio monster designs that came in with World.

Balahara is another great example:

Like, the head design reminds me of those old final fantasy monsters that had random tentacles, BUT is supported by the speculative biology design that gives it features that make sense. Balahara is a sandworm dragon, it has clam eyes (and thus the fleshy tendrils and outer carapace make sense) because it doesn't need eyesight while swimming in the sand.

I'm just super excited to see more of the mechanics of a hunt, and any new features or hub processes. Will there be Seikret customization?! Please please let me put doodads on that raptor mount.

yep! :> I don't Kingdom (and I. generally avoid interacting with the fandom these days tbh) but I'm still on OB and let me tell you golly gee do I LOVE the dragons. 🫶🫶🫶 love them all competing for the title of Emperor of Being the Pettiest Little Prissypants! love getting to see Lychee's dragon form! love Longan finally losing their shit and oh my god that design. god I really really hope we get to see all their ancient forms, I need to see all of them just absolutely eldritch'd out IMMEDIATELY

(for real though I am seriously enjoying the Longan + Lychee focus!! their dynamic is so utterly beleaguered eldest sibling who lost their last fuck to give about ten thousand years ago + youngest sibling who exists purely to harass them and will not be stopped. it's amazing. I love them. let's just...not talk about leveling up their candies though :')

anyway all in all i agree that the mystery valentine doesn't quite read like gaster and might not actually be gaster but it's definitely meant to invoke gaster. like toby knew exactly what he was doing with "YES, IT'S QUITE IRONIC, BUT I SEEM TO HAVE FORGOTTEN" what with gaster having been forgotten by everyone and all (although that could just be a reference to don't forget, but i doubt it). and "GOOD BY!" and shit. it all gives gaster. and that's why i firmly believe that if it's not gaster, it's someone connected to him- the next secret boss, probably.

though i do also love the theory that it's a piece of gaster, a small piece of him containing most of his compassion and friendliness, but not many of his other faculties, and the gaster we've been talking to so far is the "main" piece, the biggest piece, containing awareness and memory and some metaphysical ability but less of his former personality and dreams. i think that would square nicely with "WAS IT MYSELF? NO... WELL, PERHAPS" and i think it would be fun and funky if we could put him back together💙
