Ramble of Merman!AU // Violence, Gore ‼️
Merman AU in which there is a myth that the tears of a merman transforms into pearls and Fisherman!Dar decides to test out this theory with the recent capture of an adult and child mermen.
It is easy enough to make the child cry, barely had to break skin for his eyes to well up - but there was nothing but sand falling down his puffy cheeks.
The adult on the other hand, seeing the younger thing in such distress, was enough to squeeze out the shiny beads Dar was anticipating.
Upon discovering that the myth is indeed real, Dar proceeds to mutilate Merman!Zains tail in order to elicit a strong enough reaction from Merman!Salim to have him cry a stream of pearls.
Salim gets his revenge by tearing off Dars ear with his own set of sharp teeth, which causes enough of a commotion for Zain to flee. Of course, now Salim is stuck in his own personal hell where the human will try any and all methods to make the older merman cry.
The damage Zains tail has sustained in the aftermath of Dars torture leaves him unable to properly navigate in the water or fight against the waves.
When morning comes, in one of Jason's routine jogs, he finds the body of a child laying on the beach - with a tail for legs of all things - but nonetheless injured and needing of help.
This entire thing is just my excuse to put Salim in the worst possible scenario ever, with Dar as the main perpetrator lmao
Salim gets to tear off Dars ear.... As a treat....
I just think the concept of "merman tears are actually pearls" is so cool !!!!
I feel bad for putting Zain in the crossfire here, but if there is one thing that would conceivably make Salim cry, it would be seeing his own son getting tortured.
Jason is once again here to save the day. He will nurse Zain back to health and in this AU, Eric (Marine biologist) and Nick (Vet) will be there to help out as well !!!

Well I was thinking that it was kind unfair that Selly had no especial equipment of her own, or at least something similar to other Robot-Trains, soooooooo:
Selly's especial equipment: unlike the rest of her friends, she doesn't need to add an "extra layer" when she's using her powers. Instead, she modifies her hands by concentrating a lot of energy in her fingertips. The metal literally melts and reshapes into claws, that now are sharp and hot enough to cut through basically anything.
In a later actualization, she is also able to send and receive signals through these claws, this is especially useful when changing the properties of certain machines she has made or... to mentally control other trains! When she buries her claws into an engine, and activates the "yellow mode" she will connect "them" to her own engine, and the two will function as just one train. The other train is still conscious and able to communicate with her, but ultimately she's the one in control.
She uses the latter mostly during expeditions that require certain actions to be done with precision, for example setting up weather sensors on dangerous places.
Cons:
The claws take a "lot of time" to be ready to use, at least in comparison to the rest of the special equipment.
They can be tricky to control since she has to deactivate most of the sensors in her hands before melting them down.
She has to get her hands replaced each time she uses her ability for them to have normal functions again.
Pros:
After they are set they actually are the least energy-consuming special equipment.
They come in really handy for her day to day work.
When she is connected to another train, she can make their shared energy last a lot longer than usual, optimizing most of their general functions.

i’m obviously incredibly biased but i do think it’s kinda more interesting if the courier isn’t mad that benny shot them. for whatever reason! but especially if they come from similar backgrounds where it’s like “well it was respectful. he clearly didn’t want to kill me specifically it was business. and he basically threw me a funeral while i was still alive” and then their bigger issue is figuring out what to do now that they’re not dead. do they get revenge out of principle, do they try to solve the mystery of it all, do they hunt him down just to ask him to apologize, do they get roped into it by victor, or just general events? idk i obviously understand the revenge angle is very motivating, i just think a courier who doesn’t hate benny is really interesting and fun to play with. and not just because he’s my favorite guy and i could never hold it against him
